AEW Dynamite: St. Patrick's Day Slam Results for March 17, 2021

**CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It's Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Tonight’s DYNAMITE was the St. Patrick’s Day Slam!

The show began with MJF, Wardlow, Shawn Spears, FTR—Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, and Tully Blanchard, arriving in a private jet and then making their way to a limousine.

Our opening contest—The Lord of Lucha Libre against the Prince of Pro Wrestling: Penta El Zero Miedo vs. “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (with Arn Anderson)!

Penta El Zero Miedo is 5-2 in his past 7 singles matches. Cody’s shoulder was still taped up from his battle at REVOLUTION 2021.

As Cody was making his way to the ring, Penta El Zero Miedo surprised him by diving over the top rope with a cannonball onto Cody! He followed up with leg kicks to Cody’s wheels and then rammed Cody face first into the steel post. They continued to brawl on the outside until Cody whipped Penta El Zero Miedo into the barricade.

“Cody will not settle down. He will not be denied at all. When you talk about his unborn daughter, when you talk about his family, not being able to hold his baby in his arms, that’s really cutting to the chase,” said Tony Schiavone about the comments Penta El Zero Miedo made last week.

“Yeah, it’s the low road. Getting a little bit too personal,” agreed Jim Ross.

“Because it’s been so personal, that’s why they’re taking it out here on each other,” replied Schiavone.

Penta El Zero Miedo ripped off Cody’s t-shirt and chopped at his chest. Cody fired right back, picking up Penta El Zero Miedo in a vertical suplex type maneuver and then planting him forward. Penta El Zero Miedo avoided Cody’s next move and countered with a sling blade clothesline! Cody dropped to his back and connected with the uppercut but soon Penta El Zero Miedo grabbed Cody with a backstabber. Penta El Zero Miedo covered Cody in a very egotistical fashion for a near fall on “The American Nightmare.”

Penta El Zero Miedo pulled a portion of the steel barricade on the outside and propped it up against another. Cody pursued him out on the arena floor and walloped him with a thunderous pump kick! They brawled back into the ring, where Cody took Penta El Zero Miedo to the mat from the top rope after a tremendous hurracanrana!

Penta El Zero Miedo targeted Cody’s shoulder and worked it over with swift kicks. Penta El Zero Miedo turned his attention to Arn Anderson and Cody took advantage of the moment and clubbed Penta El Zero Miedo. Cody spring boarded off the middle turnbuckle with a Disaster Kick onto his opponent! Cody built up a head of steam and smashed into Penta El Zero Miedo on the outside, knocking him onto the propped up ring barricade!

Back in the ring, Cody employed a Canadian Destroyer on Penta El Zero Miedo! Cody came back with the Cody Cutter but Penta El Zero Miedo narrowly kicked out of the pin attempt!

“Look at the difference in technique of the covers of Cody’s compared to Penta El Zero Miedo’s,” remarked Jim Ross.

Cody blocked a kick and planted Penta El Zero Miedo with the CrossRhodes! Penta El Zero Miedo kicked out again!

“I thought it was a slam dunk after that and so did Arn Anderson,” said Tony Schiavone.

“Both these guys are on the top of their game here. They’re working hard, hitting hard, they want to win this huge match here tonight,” said Jim Ross.

Cody hoisted up Penta El Zero Miedo in the backpack-type position, and dropped him on his back! Penta El Zero Miedo kicked out again!

“It’s all instincts but how much more can Penta El Zero Miedo withstand,” wondered Excalibur.

Cody slammed the outside of Penta El Zero Miedo’s knee into the steel ring post! Cody applied the figure four leglock but Penta El Zero Miedo managed to grab the bottom rope, forcing the ref break. Cody attempted to apply the figure four again but Penta El Zero Miedo countered and snapped Cody’s arm back! As Penta El Zero Miedo was showboating, Cody rolled him up for the victory!

“Boy, Penta El Zero Miedo was not expecting that roll up,” said Jim Ross.

After the match, Penta El Zero Miedo assaulted Cody, targeting his injured shoulder until Dustin Rhodes and the Gunn Club chased him out.

“Penta El Zero Miedo is so pleased with himself with the damage he inflicted on Cody’s shoulder,” said Excalibur, as Penta El Zero Miedo taunted Cody outside the ring.

“Cody really needs to get that shoulder checked on and do what it takes to make it healthy. It’s a target now for everybody,” said Jim Ross.

QT Marshall finally made his way to the ring and The Nightmare Family asked him why it took so long for QT to join them in coming to Cody’s aid. They were definitely not buying QT’s excuses.

Alex Marvez was backstage to interview the AEW World Tag Team Champs—The Young Bucks!

Marvez asked The Bucks where their focus was considering Rey Fenix and PAC have earned an AEW World Tag Team title match.

Matt Jackson: “Hey Rey, you beat me in singles competition last week and a year ago you beat my brother, also in singles competition. Luckily for us, Rey and PAC, these are World Tag Team Championship titles, and you just happen to be looking at the best damn tag team in professional wrestling.”

Impact’s Don Callis interrupted The Bucks’ interview.

Callis: “Wow it sounds like you guys almost believe that. I was worried about your dad since he got hurt and you guys didn’t really do anything about it.”

Nick Jackson pointed to Don Callis’ eye, which was no longer injured. Callis admitted he faked the eye injury, saying he had wanted The Young Bucks to kick him because he wanted to see a little bit of that Young Bucks team that he saw in Japan.

Callis: “You guys kind of founded this place. It’s All Elite Wrestling and there’s nothing really elite about you guys anymore. I mean ‘Killing the Business’ is killing it, but you guys have killed your careers. You let everyone else take credit for everything around here. Kenny Omega doesn’t even recognize you guys anymore.”

Matt Jackson: “Yeah, Kenny Omega—our best friend, you changed him.”

Callis: “You’re right. You know how he’s changed? He’s the God of Pro Wrestling while you guys are down in the basement somewhere. Kenny doesn’t recognize you because you’re not elite anymore. You’re just another tag team with fancy tights, living off your name. When you look in the mirror each night, do you see the same Nick and Matt that I saw in New Japan? Think about that.”

Jade Cargill vs. Dani Jordyn was up next!

Cargill blasted Dani with an explosive kick! Jade tossed Dani overhead with a release German suplex!

“Jade nearly threw Dani Jordyn out of the ring,” said Excalibur.

Cargill dropped Dani down with the Jaded and quickly pinned her!

After the match, Jade Cargill approached Red Velvet who was watching from ringside. Jade trash talked Red Velvet, who responded by taking a swing at Jade. They had to be separated.

MJF was out to the ring with Tully Blanchard, Shawn Spears, Wardlow, and FTR.

On the microphone, Tully Blanchard ran down the Inner Circle and praised MJF for popping Chris Jericho with a baseball bat last week. “That makes this the baddest group in AEW. So when you’ve climbed the mountain and there is no place, you’re at the pinnacle of this sport. And that’s where we are. 34 years ago I was with the greatest group of guys in the history of professional wrestling. And I’m going to finish my career with the greatest group of guys in professional wrestling. You can mark the words.”

MJF took the microphone and said, “Well I guess I am Judas now, huh. Chris, pretending to like you was no walk in the park. It wasn’t easy being the most charismatic man in pro wrestling and having to take a backseat to you for six straight months Every time you talked, I’d have to fall as far back as your hairline.

“It wasn’t easy but I sang and I danced and I pretended to like your comedy BS! But it worked, didn’t it? You thought you were taking me under your wing but in reality I was down there plucking you feather by feather. And then I convinced everyone that I wanted to take over the Inner Circle when in reality that was just an elaborate ruse so you wouldn’t see what was coming. Chris, from day one the goal was to kill the Inner Circle from the inside. I wanted to build my own faction on top of the remains of the Inner Circle, and boy, have I ever. We are The Pinnacle and we will take every championship and anything else we want. And right now, Chris, we want your locker room I’m better than you, and you know it!”

“The Pinnacle have arrived here in All Elite Wrestling and the world has just been turned on its head,” said Excalibur.

Up next was a 10-Man Tag Team Match!

Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, & Marko Stunt) and Bear Country (Bear Boulder & Bear Bronson) vs. “Big Money” Matt Hardy, Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen), and The Butcher and The Blade (with The Bunny)!

Hardy nailed Marko with a rough knee to the rib cage. Marko returned fire with a slap to “Big Money” Matt’s face! Jungle Boy got the blind tag and dropped Hardy with a shotgun missile off the top rope! The match broke down and all the competitors began to brawl! Jurassic Express and Bear Country managed to clear the ring while their opposition then watched from the outside. Bear Country picked up Marko and sent him flying like a human frisbee at Hardy, Private Party, and The Butcher and The Blade, wiping all of them out on the floor! Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy questioned Bear Boulder and Bear Bronson as to their methods. As this transpired, Marq Quen entered the ring but Boulder body slammed him, and in the process he inadvertently knocked down Jungle Boy.

“It looks like Boulder clipped Jungle Boy with Marq Quen’s boot,” said Excalibur.

Matt Hardy capitalized with the Side Effect on Jungle Boy. After kicking out of the pinning predicament, Jungle Boy found himself on the arena floor, getting stomped on by The Bunny. Back in the ring, The Blade and The Butcher worked over Jungle Boy with a gut buster!

“This has been a very physical 10-men tag match and has focused on the isolation of Jungle Boy,” noted Jim Ross.

Jungle Boy finally dropped The Blade with a big clothesline and tagged in Luchasaurus! He rammed Private Party with shoulder blocks and then forced The Butcher to eat a big boot! Butcher absorbed a headbutt from Luchasaurus and then clobbered him with a lariat! Marko blindsided The Butcher with a dropkick from the high rent district! Bronson from Bear Country tagged himself in despite Luchasaurus’ intentions. Bronson grabbed Isiah Kassidy and chucked him across the ring with an exploder suplex.

“Teamwork here is lacking,” observed Jim Ross about Jurassic Express and Bear Country.

Marko tagged himself in but nearly got decapitated by a pump kick from Kassidy! Private Party served up the Gin & Juice on “Mr. Fun Size” Marko Stunt! Matt Hardy begged to be tagged in and Quen obliged “Big Money.” Hardy took down Marko with the Twist of Fate and scored the pin!

On the outside of the ring, things were boiling over between Jurassic Express and Bear Country.

Backstage, Dasha interviewed Christian Cage!

“There’s a term called a ‘workhorse.’ And if you’ve ever been inside a pro wrestling locker room, you know my reputation. Jon Moxley said it himself. He said he thought he knew something about pro wrestling until he got into the ring with me. I make wrestling better. I make wrestlers level up…but I’m not a workhorse. I am the workhorse in professional wrestling. If anybody has forgotten about that in the past seven years that I’ve been gone, the second I step foot in a ring in AEW, you’re gonna remember pretty damn quick. There’s only one spot that interests me and it’s currently occupied by AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega. As champ, Kenny, you’re on borrowed time. I need to get some wins, but trust me, Kenny, I’ll see you down the road.

“Why am I in AEW? It’s simple: I’m in AEW to cement my legacy. I’m in AEW to put into action three simple words: out work everyone.”

Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston vs. The Good Brothers—Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson (with Don Callis)!

The Good Brothers ambushed Eddie Kingston as he was making his way out of the entrance tunnel!

“Cheap shot artists taking advantage of every situation that comes there way,” said Tony Schiavone.

Jon Moxley, all taped up, sprinted to the aid of Eddie! Mox brawled with The Good Brothers around the ring!

“Moxley is lacerated, he’s burned, from that exploding barbwire deathmatch back at REVOLUTION,” said Excalibur.

Anderson mounted Kingston and attacked with the ground and pound! Gallows headbutted Moxley! The Good Brothers hit the Magic Killer on Moxley on the arena floor! Anderson tossed Kingston into the ring and the bell rang, the match officially starting!

Anderson gouged the eyes of Kingston and then tagged in Gallows. The Good Brothers isolated Kingston in their corner and continued the beat down! Gallows waffled Kingston with a thunderous kick to the side of the head! Finally, using the ring apron, Jon Moxley pulled himself up, but Gallows pump kicked him back to the floor!

Kingston took Gallows off his feet with a flying shoulder tackle. He followed up with a tremendous exploder suplex on Anderson! Mox finally got tagged in and wiped out Anderson with a running lariat and a release German suplex!

“Bad shoulder or not, Moxley is putting himself through hell and he’s going to take Karl Anderson with him,” said Jim Ross.

Moxley sent the “Machine Gun” flying into the corner with a shotgun dropkick, followed up with a clubbing blow to Gallows! Moxley hit a piledriver out of nowhere on Anderson but Gallows broke up the pin attempt. Mox cracked Gallows with a knee strike and then a tope suicida to the outside! When Mox returned to the ring, Anderson spiked him with a huge spinebuster! The Good Brothers had Moxley reeling after some dynamic tandem offense.

“The tag team specialists, The Good Brothers, have been running roughshod over Kingston and Moxley,” noted Excalibur.

“They’re dominating this match, guys,” replied Tony Schiavone.

The Good Brothers attempted the Magic Killer on Mox but Kingston connected with a chop block on Anderson! Kingston sent Gallows over the top rope and to the floor with a running clothesline. Gallows pulled out Kingston by the ankles and whipped him into the guardrail. Meanwhile, Moxley rolled up Karl Anderson and pinned him!

“The inside cradle closed the deal,” said Jim Ross.

After the match, The Good Brothers double teamed Jon Moxley. Kenny Omega’s music began to play and he strutted out to the ring, holding a steel chair. Don Callis was by his side. Omega sat on the folding chair, about to deliver a message to Moxley, when Kingston jumped into the ring and knocked the champ down! The Good Brothers stomped on Kingston for his efforts!

“That was a wild swing by Kingston that connected but unfortunately he has nothing left here,” said Tony Schiavone.

The Good Brothers turned out Kingston’s lights with the Magic Killer! Kenny Omega put the boots to Jon Moxley! Don Callis handed Omega the steel chair. They placed Kingston’s ankle between the folding chair. Anderson jumped off the middle turnbuckle and stomped on Kingston’s ankle!

“Kingston is in survival mode but it may be too late,” said Jim Ross.

Anderson and Omega placed Moxley’s head between the folding chair and Gallows climbed up to the top turnbuckle. Thankfully The Young Bucks ran out and talked down Gallows. Omega climbed the turnbuckles to finish off Moxley but Matt talked sense into Omega.

Kenny Omega wanted a show of solidarity but the Bucks refused. Omega put his hand in Matt Jackson’s face. The Bucks still resisted throwing up the hand gesture. Moxley got to his feet and swung the chair but The Good Brothers and Kenny Omega retreated!

Tony Schiavone was out to interview TNT Champion Darby Allin and Sting!

It began to snow in Jacksonville when Sting arrived on the scene. Darby was still limping from the street fight at REVOLUTION.

“I won this TNT Championship November 7th, 2020. You know how many times I’ve defended it since then? Three times. It’s a joke. And now that everything’s done with Team Taz, I want to be a defending champion week in and week out. And I want to start by paying tribute to the greatest TNT Champion of all time. Dark Order, if you want this belt back, step up, it’s an open challenge,” said Darby Allin.

“The MurderHawk Monster” Lance Archer, with Jake “The Snake” Roberts, interrupted the interview. “You’ve got to be kidding me. How many times are you going to interview Sting, Schiavone?. It should be my time, all the time. And Darby, you’re the TNT Champion? The Internet might think you’re terrific, but as far as I’m concerned, you’re the biggest indie-riffic joke this business has ever seen. And you like coffins so much, well, I’m about to put your ass in one,” said Archer.

“Sting, you know me, and you’re gonna get what’s coming to you. Tony Khan better realize you don’t play with fire. This is the biggest, baddest son of a bitch here. And he will twist it up, and he will shove it up your rear ends. So be careful, boys,” said Jake Roberts.

Roberts and Archer walked off but then Taz, “The Machine” Brian Cage, Hook, “Powerhouse” Hobbs, and “Absolute” Ricky Starks appeared on the scene.

Brian Cage: “You’re not speaking for me tonight, Taz, because I’ve got something to say. It’s not to you Darby Allin, it’s to you, Sting. You show up with some hotshot and you stick your nose in our business week after week, after all the back and forth, and after that street fight, I gotta say: I respect you. And I gotta say Ricky Starks is wrong. With or without your bat, you are still The Icon.”

Outraged, Taz grabbed Cage’s mic and asked what the hell was wrong with him. The rest of Team Taz also stood in disbelief at Cage’s comments. Brian Cage pushed his way through Team Taz and made his exit through the tunnel.

Rey Fenix (with PAC) vs. Angelico!

Angelico grappled Fenix to the ground. They jockeyed for leverage with wristlocks until Rey Fenix took down Angelico with an arm drag. Angelico blocked a chop from Fenix, but Fenix rolled up Angelico with a crucifix for a near fall. Angelico captured the arm of Rey Fenix and began to hammer down on Fenix’s lower back.

Rey Fenix staggered Angelico with a thrust kick and then spiked him on the forehead with a cutter! Angelico kicked out in the nick of time! Angelico applied his leg submission on Rey Fenix but Fenix grabbed the rope for the ref break. Angelico and Rey Fenix traded various kicks until Fenix smashed Angelico with the crucifix bomb! Rey Fenix spiked Angelico head first onto the mat and scored the pin!

Time for the main event! An Unsanctioned Lights Out Match—Anything Goes!

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (with Rebel) vs. Thunder Rosa!

Baker and Thunder Rosa started with a stare down. And then Rebel blindsided Thunder Rosa, swinging her crutch at Thunder Rosa’s lower back! Thunder Rosa chased after Rebel and got her hands on her, but Dr. Britt Baker speared her opponent! Baker followed up with an air raid crash on the stage but Thunder Rosa kicked out!

“Great aggression by the dentist in the early going,” observed Jim Ross.

“She has come to fight and she’s looking for plunder,” said Schiavone, as Baker pulled a steel chair out from under the ring.

Baker smashed the chair down onto Thunder Rosa’s abdomen. Baker turned her back to talk into the TV camera, and Thunder Rosa seized the moment and swung the chair at Baker! She then rammed the chair into Rebel’s midsection!

“This match is unsanctioned. The result will not count towards any competitor’s win-loss record, but you have to imagine it will take an unforgettable physical toll on both,” noted Excalibur.

“They don’t give a damn because this is personal,” added Tony Schiavone.

Thunder Rosa missed a flipping senton on the arena floor as Britt Baker barely dodged it. Bake tried to end the match before too much damage was suffered but Thunder Rosa kicked out of the pinning combination. Rebel helped Britt Baker pull a table out from under the ring and set it up. Baker stomped on Thunder Rosa’s head on the steel ring steps. Thunder Rosa’s forehead was busted wide open!

Rebel and Baker hurled multiple steel chairs into the ring. Baker suplexed Thunder Rosa from the second turnbuckle onto the pile of steel chairs!

“The steel don’t care, but Thunder Rosa’s spine certainly does,” said Jim Ross.

Rebel pushed a ladder into the ring. Thunder Rosa drove the face of Dr. Britt Baker smack into it! Thunder Rosa tried for the pin but Baker kicked out at two! AEW Women’s Champ Hikaru Shida was seen watching the match on a monitor backstage.

Thunder Rosa hit a double running knee on Baker in the corner. She sandwiched Baker between the ladder and the turnbuckles and then Thunder Rosa dropkicked the ladder, ramming it into Baker’s face! Britt Baker was busted open now!

“The blood is pouring out of her head here. The edge of the ladder cut her open,” said Tony Schiavone.

Thunder Rosa bit down on Baker’s head. Baker retaliated with a thrust kick and then hit a flatliner on Thunder Rosa right onto the ladder!

“Thunder Rosa’s eyes rolled back in her head,” said Jim Ross.

“Both women covered in blood,” added Excalibur.

Baker climbed up the turnbuckles but Thunder Rosa followed her up there and then decimated her with a Death Valley Driver down onto the ladder! Thunder Rosa covered Britt Baker but Baker kicked out!

“These are two warriors doing battle in our main event tonight,” said Excalibur.

Baker DDT’ed Thunder Rosa onto the steel chair, and then she stomped Thunder Rosa’s head onto the chair. Somehow Thunder Rosa kicked out! Rebel slipped Baker the surgical glove.

“If she goes for the lockjaw this time guys, she’s not gonna let go,” said Tony Schiavone.

“Even if Thunder Rosa makes it to the ropes, there’s no disqualifications, there’s no rope breaks,” added Excalibur.

Rebel pulled a black bag of thumbtacks out from under the ring and handed it off to Britt Baker!

“Thousands of thumbtacks,” said Excalibur, as Baker poured them onto the canvas.

Britt Baker attempted to go for the swinging neck breaker but Thunder Rosa countered. She was going to use a powerbomb but Rebel jumped into the ring with her crutch! Rebel swung the crutch at Thunder Rosa, but Thunder Rosa ducked! Thunder Rosa pulled the crutch out of Rebel’s hands and then cracked her with it! Thunder Rosa dropkicked Rebel off the ring apron and sent her crashing through the table on the floor! Baker tried for a Death Valley Driver of her own but Thunder Rosa blocked it and powerbombed Baker onto the thumbtacks! Baker kicked out at the two-count!

“My God she kicked out of thumbtacks! She looks like a human pin cushion!” said Jim Ross.

Baker managed to grab Thunder Rosa with the lockjaw, applying it directly on the thumbtacks! Thunder Rosa rolled Baker back into the thumbtacks, forcing her to release the submission.

“When will this madness end for these two women?” asked Jim Ross.

Baker got to her feet and rocked Thunder Rosa with a thrust kick!

“Thunder Rosa did not see that kick coming,” said Excalibur.

Britt was about to powerbomb Thunder Rosa off the apron and through the table on the floor but Thunder Rosa blocked her! Thunder Rosa followed through with a Fire Thunder Driver through the table! Thunder Rosa covered Dr. Britt Baker on the outside and pinned her for the win!

“Thunder Rosa has won this amazing, amazing event,” said Jim Ross.
