Biography:
The Best Bout Machine. The Cleaner. EVP.
You also can call Kenny Omega something else: One of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time.
That claim could be made about Omega during a decade-plus wrestling primarily in Japan for the DDT & New Japan promotions but was solidified after becoming one of AEW’s first and most heralded signings in February 2019.
Kenny is the first “Triple Crown” champion in AEW history, having held our world singles, tag team & trios titles. He added the “Grand Slam” designation after beating Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International title in March 2025 at AEW Revolution.
Omega’s initial run at the world championship was spoiled at AEW’s first live show in May 2019 when beaten by Chris Jericho in the main event of Double or Nothing. But Kenny ultimately achieved his goal after aligning with the devious Don Callis. The two cheated Jon Moxley out of the AEW world title at the first Dynamite: Winter is Coming in December 2020, leading to a 346-day reign that remains the second-longest in AEW history.
Omega’s quest to regain that title and extract vengeance upon Callis following their May 2023 split was halted by a medical battle that almost cost Kenny his career -- and more. Diverticulitis sidelined Omega for 400-plus days before his triumphant return in January 2025 against Don Callis Family member Brian Cage on Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
As an AEW executive vice president and avid gamer, Omega played an integral role in the development of AEW’s first-ever console video game, AEW: Fight Forever, utilizing his affinity for gaming to create a nostalgic, arcade-style product for modern consoles. The Winnipeg native also is fluent in Japanese from his time living in Tokyo.
