Kyle Fletcher’s journey from “down under” has brought him to the top of the pro wrestling world. Only 26 years old, Fletcher already has hit heights that most veterans will never see – with the best assuredly yet to come.


A native of Sydney, Australia, Kyle was a standout in rugby, baseball and kempo karate in his youth. But it was pro wrestling that had the most appeal. Fletcher debuted in 2014 and wrestled in the region for three years before moving to the United Kingdom to further his career.


It was there that Fletcher met fellow Aussie Mark Davis. The two would become a championship tag team in the U.K. and Japan before signing full-time with AEW in early 2023.


Wrestling as Aussie Open, Fletcher & Davis won the Ring of Honor world tag team titles later that year. But even greater success as a singles wrestler was to soon follow after Davis was sidelined with a serious wrist injury. Under the guidance of Don Callis, Fletcher would capture the ROH world television title in December 2023. That set the stage for a breakout 2024. Fletcher scored pinfalls over two of pro wrestling’s biggest stars in former Don Callis Family member Will Ospreay – who he had betrayed just weeks earlier -- and reigning AEW Continental champion Kazuchika Okada. The latter victory helped propel Kyle to winning the 2024 Continental Classic Blue League with tournament-highs in wins (4) and points (12).


Fletcher’s out-of-the-ring profile continues to grow as well with numerous AEW media appearances where he has developed a style as a unique weather forecaster.
