Biography:
When news broke in November 2023 that Will Ospreay was joining AEW, company founder & CEO Tony Khan described the signing as a “big deal.”
Just how big cannot be overstated.
Having already established himself as one of pro wrestling’s most dynamic talents in New Japan Pro Wrestling, expectations surrounding Ospreay were already sky-high when making his debut as a full-time AEW grappler in March 2024. Somehow, he exceeded them.
Ospreay would lead the AEW men’s division in 2024 singles wins with 22 despite starting several months later than his peers. Among his accomplishments were becoming the winner of AEW’s first-ever casino gauntlet match, reaching the 2024 Continental Classic finals and becoming a two-time AEW International champion. Ospreay’s second go-around was especially sweet as he defeated MJF at All In at London’s Wembley Stadium just outside his hometown of Essex in the United Kingdom.
Will’s success has extended into 2025 by reaching the finals of the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
Billed as the “Aerial Assassin,” it should come as no surprise that an avid gamer like Will would be a huge fan of Assassin’s Creed. He has collaborated numerous times with the brand including an All In entrance that featured the voice actor for main character Ezio and Creed-inspired gear.
