Biography:
The reason he’s called “The Last Outlaw”?
Pro wrestling will never again see someone the likes of Jeff Jarrett. From being a 12-time world champion to starting his own national promotion, there is virtually nothing in or out of the ring that Jarrett hasn’t done in a career spanning five different decades – all while creating plenty of controversy along the way.
Jarrett brought his black hat and guitar-swinging ways into AEW in November 2022 surrounded by a posse that includes his wife Karen, the massive Satnam Singh, two-time Ring of Honor world champion Jay Lethal and the devious Sonjay Dutt. “Double J” also has carved another niche as part of the Zero Hour announcer team for AEW pay-per-view shows with Renee Paquette & R.J. City.
With a family lineage in pro wrestling that dates to 1946, Jeff debuted at the age of 18 in the Memphis-based regional promotion headed by his father Jerry. Having now wrestled almost 2,400 matches worldwide, Jeff has held 25 different titles among more than 80 championship reigns. That includes winning world tag team titles with the late Owen Hart, who is celebrated annually by AEW with men’s and women’s tournaments honoring his legacy and supporting the charitable foundation created in his name by wife Dr. Martha Hart.
A native of Hendersonville, Tenn. (where his family struck up a friendship with Taylor Swift), Jeff is a passionate sports fan particularly of the University of Tennessee and Tennessee Titans. Jeff also is involved in minor-league baseball ownership.
