Here’s your full AEW Collision preview for August 16, 2025.
AEW Collision Matches, Preview for Saturday, August 16
Ricochet vs. Ace Austin
After a backstage confrontation with Ricochet and GOA during an exclusive interview with Alicia Atout on Wednesday, one of wrestling’s hottest free agents, Ace Austin, looks to make an immediate splash in AEW against the very same Ricochet.
The hype for this one has already gone through the roof since this match was made official, and the pace is certain to be blistering. Will Austin soar in his first time in AEW? And what tricks will Ricochet have up his sleeve against the debuting star?
JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey) vs. Death Riders’ Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta
In recent weeks on Dynamite, both Knight and Speedball have gone toe-to-toe with Jon Moxley in singles action. This past Wednesday, in fact, Wheeler Yuta’s timely distraction in conjunction with Marina Shafir kept Knight from landing the UFO Splash cleanly on the former AEW World Champion, opening the door for Moxley to cinch in the choke and put The Jet out.
Now, Knight and Bailey bring their synergy and desire for revenge to Collision against Moxley and Yuta. Will JetSpeed’s combined power, speed and athleticism be enough to stop these two members of the Death Riders in tag team action tonight on Collision?
Technical Spectacle: Hechicero vs. Nigel McGuinness vs ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty vs Daniel Garcia
Four elite technicians collide with a golden opportunity on the line: The winner earns a shot at IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door on Sunday, August 24 in London. Expect a masterclass in counters, submission wrestling and ring IQ as styles and strategies intersect in a tangle of violence.
Who navigates the technical labyrinth and punches a ticket to London?
$100K 4-Way Collision: Julia Hart vs. Kris Statlander vs. Penelope Ford vs. Anna Jay
A $100,000 prize ups the stakes and the intensity on Collision. Anna Jay and Julia Hart’s years-long history has reignited, with Jay (alongside bestie Tay Melo) rushing in with weapons to thwart Hart, Thekla and Skye Blue during their attack on Queen Aminata several weeks back as just one recent example. Jay has also crossed paths with Penelope Ford (and, of course, Megan Bayne) multiple times lately, while Kris Statlander remains one of the division’s ultimate powerhouses.
With pride and the $100,000 purse on the line tonight, just how wild will this one get?
We’ll Hear From AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm
The Saturday spotlight shines on the AEW Women’s World Champion as she addresses her Forbidden Door foe, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, ahead of their showdown on Sunday, August 24 in London. And lest we forget, Storm and her completely platonic friend, Alex Windsor, have also laid down a challenge to Athena and TBS Champion Mercedes Moné for a fight in Glasgow next week.
What will “Timeless” Toni Storm have to say before she heads over to the UK, especially with such fierce rivals looming ever large?
Bryan Keith vs. Juice Robinson
The Bad Apple wants revenge for the Bang Bang Gang taking out him and Big Bill in the AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament. Juice has revenge on his mind as well after Keith and Bill interfered in Juice's match against Ricochet. They'll collide tonight on Collision!
Paragon’s Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong vs. Blake Christian & Lee Johnson
O’Reilly has been mixing it up with old friends in The Conglomeration in the wake of All In: Texas, but Strong is laser-focused on Paragon and forging a new path forward with their friend, Adam Cole, sidelined. The longtime allies get back in the ring together against the lightning-fast Blake Christian and Lee Johnson in tag team action.
Can Kyle and Roddy reassert Paragon dominance – and, perhaps just as importantly, Paragon chemistry – or will Vanilla Baby and Big Shotty come away with a statement win on Saturday night?
Tune in on Saturday night to find out, as AEW Collision brings you two hours of the best pro wrestling in the world!
