AEW Collision Preview

Tonight, AEW Collision is LIVE COAST-TO-COAST at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on TNT and streaming on HBO Max from the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. With AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door fast approaching on June 28, the competition continues to heat up with high-stakes matchups tonight on Collision.

We’ll see Divine Dominion defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles against TayJay. Last week, Tay Melo and Anna Jay became the first team to last the full five minutes against “Megasus” Megan Bayne and “Colossal” Lena Kross in their Eliminator Challenge. Tonight, though, TayJay has to do more than just last if they want to become champions.

Plus, the Quarterfinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament will see CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone take on Hazuki. This international showdown is a first-time matchup, and the winner will face the 2025 Owen Cup Champion, “The CEO” Mercedes Moné, in the Semifinals!

Here’s what you need to know about tonight’s Collision in Youngstown!

AEW Collision Matches, Preview for Youngstown

AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship Match: Divine Dominion ("Megasus" Megan Bayne and "Colossal" Lena Kross) (c) vs. TayJay (Tay Melo and Anna Jay)

On last week’s Collision, TayJay earned this title shot when they did what no team had been able to do against the AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions, lasting the full five minutes in the Eliminator Challenge. And not only did they last, but TayJay had Bayne and Kross in dire straits when the bell rang at the time limit.

Divine Dominion has been the most dominant force in the women’s division, and until last week, they looked untouchable. They are 11-0 as a duo and come into this title tilt with three successful defenses. Can Bayne and Kross bounce back and continue their reign of domination? Or will TayJay find the magic to win the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship and make their long-standing dream a reality?

Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament Quarterfinal: CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone vs. Hazuki

Persephone watched Hazuki’s successful AEW debut over Maya World from the commentary desk during last week's Collision. Then, the spotlight on this match got a little brighter when Mercedes Moné, a former rival of both Persephone and Hazuki, returned to AEW in surprising yet spectacular fashion as the Wild Card entrant and defeated NJPW STRONG Women's Champion Alex Windsor to advance to the Semifinals, where Moné, the 2025 Owen Cup winner, awaits the winner of this match.

This will be the first time Persephone and Hazuki go one-on-one, and with the AEW Women’s World Championship match at All In: London awaiting the winner of the tournament, the stakes are huge. But first, who will move into the Semifinals against Moné?

Trios Match: Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and PAC) vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty, Capt. Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo)

Last week on Collision, The Infantry took a loss to Moxley and PAC, although Shane Taylor Promotions decided they wanted more of the Death Riders and took aim at Moxley while he was on commentary for the main event. That was part of a massive brawl that also included The Conglomeration and Don Callis Family. The issues between these two sides are only heating up, so this week, Castagnoli and Moriarty join the mix for a trios showdown. The Death Riders collide with Shane Taylor Promotions tonight in Moxley’s home state of Ohio!

AEW World Trios Championship: The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly) (c) vs. LFI (”El Toro Blanco” RUSH, Sammy Guevara and Dralístico)

The Conglomeration said they were ready to defend their AEW World Trios Titles at any time, so they’ll get quite the test tonight from LFI’s RUSH, Sammy Guevara and Dralístico! RUSH gave AEW World Champion MJF everything he could handle on Dynamite, so despite the loss, he’s still one of the most dangerous men in AEW and remains on the hunt for gold. Plus, he won the Superstation Showcase on last week’s Dynamite over Lio Rush, Brian Cage and Orange Cassidy. Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly turned away a challenge from the Don Callis Family last week on Collision, and tonight, they’ll try to notch their third defense so far against LFI!

The Dogs’ Clark Connors vs. Bang Bang Gang’s Juice Robinson

The Dogs ruined the first tag team match for Austin and Colten Gunn in nearly 11 months last week on Collision when Finlay used his shillelagh on Austin and Connors speared him for the victory. The Dogs tried to inflict further damage on The Gunns until Juice Robinson and Ace Austin made the save. Tonight, Robinson will look for a measure of revenge against Connors. There’s certainly history between these two sides that goes beyond last week, as Finlay and Robinson were former IWGP Tag Team Champions as FinJuice. It’ll be a battle of Finlay’s old tag partner versus his current stablemate in The Dogs. Who will come away victorious in what promises to be an intense fight?
