AEW Collision Results for June 24, 2023

**CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Tonight’s episode of AEW COLLISION was broadcast live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON!

Nigel McGuinness and Kevin Kelly were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Saturday night and you know what that means! Saturday night’s alright for fighting!

Tony Schiavone was in the ring to interview Sting and Darby Allin, and to find out who their partner will be tomorrow night!

Instead, “The Ocho” Chris Jericho and Suzuki walked onto the ramp!

“Where is Sammy Guevara?” wondered Kevin Kelly.

Jericho: “Shut up, Shiavone. Listen, don’t try to shamelessly pander to me. I’m not from Toronto. I’m from Winnipeg, you idiots. And we’re in a bad mood, anyways, aren’t we Suzuki? Because Sting and Darby Allin have kept us waiting for days and days before telling us who their partner is. Who ya gonna get that’s tougher than the legendary Suzuki?

“Who ya gonna get that’s crazier and sexier than Chris Jericho? And even though he’s not here tonight because he’s a little miffed that Suzuki and I are such good friends, and even though Sammy’s not with us, he’s a future World champion…who are you gonna get that’s going to beat us? We know you have a plan. And we know that you know who the partner is Schiavone. So, while we wait for Sting, why don’t you tell us right now, Schiavone? Tell me! I’ll knock your teeth out!”

Sting and Darby Allin made their way to the ring!

“Tonight, get out of the ring, it’s not safe,” said Kevin Kelly.

Darby: “I got something to say, Chris. Sammy, I realize you’re not out here tonight. Maybe your common sense kicked in and you realized you don’t need Chris Jericho. Just know this. If you show up at Forbidden Door and stand with Chris and Suzuki, I’m going to kick your ass. Just like our tag partner kicked Chris Jericho’s ass at the Tokyo Dome. I think you know who it is.”

Out walked Tetsuya Naito!

“Chris Jericho is having a fit,” said Kevin Kelly.

Naito smiled in Jericho’s face. Jericho pointed his finger at Naito, trying to show that he wasn’t intimidated.

Next, we heard from “The Redeemer” Miro!

Miro: “I’ve been in exile for almost a year. And then I was summoned. And when that coward finally spoke, he said I would be his favorite champion again. All I need to do is praise him. It was at that moment I realized that this coward is an idiot. The Redeem knees before no man or a god. I now renounce my god. Because I am Miro. And I am gutless!”

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Mogul Embassy’s Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana)!

The fans chanted “Tanahashi! Tanahashi!”

Swerve and Hiroshi locked up. Tanahashi hit a basement dropkick after Swerve mocked playing the air guitar.

Tanahashi caught Swerve with a forearm. Swerve fired back with a low blow, kicking the ropes as Tanahashi was entering. Tanahashi got punted in the face by Swerve.

AEW World Champion MJF appeared on the giant screen!

MJF: “At Forbidden Door, I’m going to embarrass you. And anybody that thought you were on my level. And I spoke to Tony Khan and the only way I’ll show up is if we’re on match 1. Because I don’t want to spend my time watching a bunch of indie jabrons from Japan wrestling. With all due respect ‘Ace,’ you are no on the level of the devil!”

House of Black’s Brody King (with Julia Hart) vs. Andrade El Idolo!

Andrade dodged a chop from Brody. Then he dodged a big boot and followed up with a basement dropkick to Brody.

Brody was looking for a Death Valley Driver on the apron, but El Idolo shoved him into the ring post. Andrade followed up with a moonsault off the top turnbuckle to Brody King on the arena floor!

“That was a leap of faith,” said Nigel.

Brody hoisted Andrade onto the top ring rope and then chopped him, sending Andrade crashing to the arena floor. Back in the ring, like the sound of thunder, Brody chopped Andrade back to the mat. Andrade got to his feet and fired off forearms. Andrade, the 19-year veteran, hit a jawbreaker on Brody King.

After a dragon screw, Andrade connected with a cross body. Andrade blasted Brody with a running forearm, landing flush to the jaw of the House of Black member. Andrade charged into Brody King with double knees for a near fall.

Andrade caught Brody with a back elbow and then locked on the Figure Eight!

Buddy Matthews jumped into the ring and pummeled Andrade, “just before Brody could tap out,” said Kevin Kelly.

Brody steamrolled Andrade with a spinning lariat. Buddy held up Andrade and then Brody planted Andrade with a Gonzo Bomb!

“The House of Black seemingly always has the numbers advantage,” said Kevin Kelly.

Tony Schiavone was in the ring to interview Christian Cage and the new TNT Champion Luchasaurus!

Christian Cage: “You know, Tony, I left the show last week and I was in a really bad mood for a lot of reasons. But I know that in just a few short days I would be back in Toronto with the TNT championship. And now I’m in a worse mood. The moment I stepped off that plane all the thoughts and emotions kept flooding back. I can be brutally honest, Toronto, because I’m from here. This city breeds losers and in turn is populated by losers. You’re ok with losers but I’m not!

“A couple of house keeping items. There will be no more open challenges. They’re done. You want a shot at this, you’ve gotta earn it. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend I created this title like some kind of vanity project. But I will take this championship to new heights. And I, we, will remain the face of TNT, now and forever!”

Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Quarter Final Match!

NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale vs. Nyla Rose (with Marina Shafir)!

They charged at each other, but Willow got the upper hand, knocking Nyla off her feet. Willow did a cartwheel and kicked Nyla in the head. “The Native Beast” Nyla Rose scoop slammed Willow. She charged at Willow, but Willow countered with a boot.

Willow tried for the Doctor Bomb, but Nyla countered with a suplex. Nyla picked up Nightingale for a powerbomb, but Willow escaped and pounced Nyla! Willow planted Nyla with the Doctor Bomb and pinned her!

“Advancing on to the semi-finals is Willow Nightingale,” said Kevin Kelly.

The Outcasts—Ruby Soho, AEW Women’s champion Toni Storm, and Saraya, surrounded the ring!

Skye Blue sprinted to the ring with a steel chair! The Outcasts retreated out of the ring. Toni Storm held up her Women’s championship high.

Lexy Nair was backstage with Scorpio Sky!

Scorpio Sky: “I watched the video they put together of all my accomplishments, and it should have felt good. Before I came to AEW I struggled in every part of my life. But when I finally got my big break, I couldn’t handle it. I let it control me. Until now. So instead of a highlight reel, let me introduce myself. I am one-half of the first ever World Tag Team champions. I am the first ‘face of the revolution’. I am a two-time TNT champion. I did those things while being a shadow of my true self. Scorpion Sky is back. Now you find out who he really is.”

Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Jeremy Prophet!

Hobbs charged into Jeremy in the corner, bludgeoning him with running elbows. Hobbs crumbled Prophet with clotheslines! Hobbs hit the spinebuster and pinned Prophet, scoring the quick and dominant victory.

The Gunns prevented Punk from making the tag. Juice hoisted up Punk for the GTS, but Punk blocked it. Punk rocked Juice with a high kick.
