AEW Dynamite Tonight: Preview for August 13 in Cincinnati
MJF and AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page Face-to-Face
One week ago, Dynamite closed with MJF using the Dynamite Diamond Ring to batter Mark Briscoe after defeating him in a grudge match main event, triggering AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page to make the save. Then, once Page saw just how badly injured Briscoe was, he violently brawled with MJF.
More broadly, since Page’s victory over Jon Moxley at AEW All In: Texas to reclaim the AEW World Title, MJF has repeatedly tried to provoke the champion into granting a title opportunity, but Hangman has declined to engage on Max’s terms, telling MJF he’s either going to have to earn a shot at the championship or use his Casino Gauntlet contract. With both men’s shared and strained history in sharp focus, they meet face-to-face tonight on Dynamite.
Adam Copeland vs. Stokely
A restraining order currently bars Adam Copeland from getting within 200 feet of FTR, but it doesn’t cover Stokely!
Seizing that opening, Cope went to AEW CEO and GM Tony Khan on last week’s Dynamite to have him make this match official for this week. The question for FTR is clear: Do they risk rendering the restraining order null and void by coming too close to Cope in order to save Stoke (assuming, of course, he falls victim to the Rated-R Superstar during their fight), or do they leave Stokely to whatever Copeland has planned in order to keep the restraining order intact?
Jon Moxley vs. Kevin Knight
As Kevin Knight’s JetSpeed partner, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, went to war with former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley last Wednesday on Dynamite, Knight stepped up to the Death Riders at ringside, attempting to negate the numbers advantage.
Tonight, Knight steps up for a singles test against Moxley, this time in Mox’s hometown of Cincinnati. Knight looks to build on JetSpeed’s momentum and make a huge statement on Dynamite, while Moxley aims to punish the young up-and-comer, all the while knowing that Darby Allin is almost certainly lurking.
Trios Match: TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, Thekla & Skye Blue vs. Alex Windsor, Queen Aminata & Willow Nightingale
Rivalries collide on Dynamite tonight, as the Triangle of Madness' Thekla and Skye Blue team with the TBS Champion to take on Alex Windsor (who has already earned a spot in a TBS Title 4-Way at Forbidden Door) and Queen Aminata and Willow Nightingale, the latter two who have been locked in a struggle with the Triangle of Madness over the past couple weeks.
All Star 8-Man Tag: Young Bucks, Kyle Fletcher & Josh Alexander vs. Tomohiro Ishii, Hologram, Brody King & ?
Last week, Don Callis challenged New Japan Pro Wrestling to send their best to face Kyle Fletcher. We'll find out who answers the call in an epic 8-Man Tag match tonight on Dynamite!
Trios Match: AEW World Trios Champions The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. LFI (RUSH, Dralístico and The Beast Mortos)
After LFI attacked Shibata on Collision for the second time in recent weeks, Samoa Joe makes his return to team with his fellow trios champions against RUSH, Dralístico and The Beast Mortos!
