AEW Dynamite Tonight: Preview for August 6 in Cleveland
MJF vs. Mark Briscoe – Grudge Match Main Event
To say that these two men have been at each other’s throats recently would not do justice to the level of explosive hatred that has been building between MJF and Mark Briscoe. Weeks of escalating animosity come to a boiling point tonight when Briscoe goes one-on-one with MJF.
Those tensions were high enough when the two men were exchanging taunts about “kosher pickles” or when MJF was stealing a victory in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet at All In: Texas from the grasp of Briscoe. But the flames of resentment reached new heights when MJF invoked the name of Mark’s late brother Jay, igniting a ferocious resolve in Briscoe. Briscoe has since promised to unleash such untold violence on his foe that he in fact worries he won’t see his brother again in the afterlife – because Briscoe won’t be able to be forgiven for what he does to MJF.
Expect a ruthless and intensely personal main event showdown tonight on Dynamite.
Forbidden Door TBS Title 4-Way Qualifier: Queen Aminata vs. Skye Blue vs. Alex Windsor vs. Billie Starkz
Tonight’s 4-Way Qualifier will decide AEW’s representative in the TBS Title 4-Way at Forbidden Door, a match that will feature the TBS Champion and individual challengers from each of AEW, CMLL and Stardom. Queen Aminata and Skye Blue have been on opposite sides of late, an enmity further complicated by Blue’s involvement in the sinister Triangle of Madness alongside Julia Hart and Thekla. Meanwhile, Alex Windsor and Billie Starkz continue their own hostilities, linked closely to ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. And it’s all bottled up inside a 4-Way Qualifier with lofty stakes. This one should be a powder keg waiting to go off on a Wednesday night.
"8 Belts" Mercedes Moné Returns LIVE!
After recently capturing two additional championships overseas, "8 Belts" Mercedes Moné makes her anticipated return to AEW Dynamite tonight, draped in gold. What will she have to say – and on whom will she set her sights next, knowing that her TBS Championship will be on the line in less than three weeks at Forbidden Door?
AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Semifinal: The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. Brodido (Brody King and ROH World Champion Bandido)
The semifinals of the AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament culminate in a monumental clash between The Young Bucks and Brodido. Last week, Brody King and Bandido advanced after a punishing victory over Gates of Agony on Collision, while the Bucks secured their semifinal spot by defeating the Outrunners on Dynamite. Tonight, the two teams square off with the winning team advancing to face FTR in the finals, where the ultimate prize – an opportunity at the AEW World Tag Team Champions at Forbidden Door – awaits.
Jon Moxley vs. "Speedball" Mike Bailey
After Darby Allin tried to throw Jon Moxley off of the fire escape on the room of the Aragon Ballroom last week, the former AEW World Champion is absolutely livid in Cleveland. And since Mox stormed into AEW CEO and GM Tony Khan's office and demanded a fight on Dynamite, Speedball Bailey has stepped up to answer the challenge. These two will go one-on-one live tonight!
We'll Hear From New TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher!
Last week on AEW Collision, Kyle Fletcher captured the TNT Title from Dustin Rhodes in a BRUTAL Chicago Street Fight. We'll hear from the new face of TNT TONIGHT!
