AEW Dynamite Preview for November 9, 2022

Last week saw AEW in action in two different cities with a live DYNAMITE and live RAMPAGE for our fans! Wednesday night in Baltimore fans witnessed four different championships at stake, including Chris Jericho defending the ROH World Title against the returning Colt Cabana, Orange Cassidy retaining the All-Atlantic Championship against both Luchasaurus and Rey Fenix, Jade Cargill continuing her amazing streak and TBS Championship reign, and Samoa Joe toppling Brian Cage to remain ROH World Television Champion! Plus, Jon Moxley topped The Firm's Lee Moriarty in an Eliminator Match, the Daddy Ass Birthday Bash got spoiled, and Jeff Jarrett turned out to be Jay Lethal's friend!

Then in Atlantic City, Orange Cassidy defeated the sublime Katsuyori Shibata to retain the All-Atlantic Championship in his Atlantic City Dream Match while Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter topped Skye Blue and Madison Rayne! Plus Ricky Starks declared his entry into the Men's World Title Eliminator Tournament, and in the main event, WarJoe took down the threat of The Gates of Agony only for Powerhouse Hobbs to let Wardlow know just what his intentions are!

This week, DYNAMITE is back in Beantown at the Agganis Arena for a stacked episode of AEW's flagship program. A huge 8-Man Tag is going down when the AAA/IWGP/ROH World Tag Champions FTR and the AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed unite to take on the AEW #1 Contenders Swerve In Our Glory and The Gunns! Plus, the Men's World Title Eliminator Tournament kicks off when two old rivals named Kingston and “All Ego” meet, and Jamie Hayter takes on Skye Blue, while “The American Dragon” meets “The Spanish God” in a 2 Of 3 Falls Match!!

The action gets started this Wednesday night on TBS, LIVE at 8pm EDT/7pm CDT, and at AEWPlus.com for international audiences, and the official AEW YouTube page is the best place to catch-up on the latest episodes of AEW Dark: Elevation, AEW Dark, Road To, and The Control Center with Tony Schiavone, to get ready for the night!

EIGHT-MAN TAG...

AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed & AAA/IWGP/ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR

vs.

Swerve In Our Glory & The Gunns

Between these eight individuals there is a whole lot of familiarity, and it's not for nothing that Chaucer once wrote a saying about breeding contempt. FTR were recently screwed out of the #1 Contendership by a combination of the actions of The Gunns and Swerve Strickland, The Acclaimed and S.I.O.G have their fair share of issues revolving around the World Tag Team Championship titles, while The Acclaimed, Colten, and Austin have plenty of issues (both professional and familial) playing into this equation.

Suffice to say, this eight-man tag team match is a huge powder keg of issues, and it is likely to explode this Wednesday night on DYNAMITE! With Swerve In Our Glory set for a third championship dance with The Acclaimed at FULL GEAR 2022, there are plenty of issues already embedded in this multi-man battle. Now add in the issues The Gunns have incessantly provoked with Dax and Cash, and this bout on DYNAMITE is rife with one issue after another!

Now we've got Rick Ross, Swerve's assault on Billy Gunn, the World Tag Team Championship titles, plus so much more wrapped up in this bout, and one can only guess who this will all play into the eight-man bout taking place on TBS this Wednesday night! Be sure to tune in to watch it all unfold, and see which unit will have the upper hand as AEW heads towards its next pay-per-view extravaganza on November 19th!

MEN'S WORLD TITLE ELIMINATOR QUARTER-FINAL MATCH...

Eddie Kingston vs. Ethan Page

The last time Ethan Page and Eddie Kingston stepped into a ring with one another for a one-on-one bout they were locked inside a Steel Cage. It was their sixth singles meeting in a series of fights crossing multiple independent wrestling promotions, and one entirely dominated by “The Mad King” as he proved victorious in five of those bouts, including the aforementioned Steel Cage match.

But this Wednesday night the record books are wiped clean as, for the first time in All Elite Wrestling, these two men will collide with a potential AEW World Championship Match at stake! All either man has to do is make it past this match, face the winner of Bandido/Rush in the Semi-Finals, and meet the other-half of the bracket in the finals at FULL GEAR 2022!

Will The Firm help sway the contest in favor of “All Ego” or will “The Mad King” repeat last year's result and advance to the Semi-Finals?

2 OF 3 FALLS MATCH...

“The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. “The Spanish God” Sammy Guevara

There must be something about The J.A.S. and facing Bryan Danielson under these stipulations because Sammy Guevara will be the second member of Chris Jericho's ilk to face “The American Dragon” under 2 of 3 Falls stipulations. The last time around it was “Red Death” Daniel Garcia who answered the challenge for this bout, a rubber match after Garcia defeated Bryan in their second contest albeit with a helping hand from Jake Hager.

In that red hot 26-minute contest, Garcia picked up the first fall over Danielson, but would be defeated in the subsequent two, which has, in part, led the two competitors in this bout to where they are today. It's why Garcia teamed up with Danielson to face Guevara and Chris Jericho in a tag team match where Guevara pinned Garcia, it led to Garcia ultimately picking the path of the Sports Entertainer over the Pro Wrestler, it put Danielson in the ring with Guevara two weeks ago in Norfolk, and it ended that night with “The American Dragon” conquering “The Spanish God”.

But clearly that wasn't enough for Guevara, and perhaps this challenge to Bryan to face him in a 2 of 3 Falls Match is simply a diversion away from the tension that popped up when Chris Jericho announced his Four Way ROH World Championship defense for FULL GEAR 2022. In response to being challenged by both Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli, Jericho inserted Guevara into the fray, seemingly because Jericho anticipates Sammy falling on his sword in order for Chris to remain champion. “The Spanish God” was quick to avoid that topic in the interview embedded above, and that's where this challenge for Wednesday night in Boston comes into the picture.

Can Guevara succeed where his J.A.S. ally failed, and build himself some momentum heading into FULL GEAR 2022? Or will this be a night where The BCC shows The J.A.S. why professional wrestling is the strongest discipline?

ONE-ON-ONE...

Jamie Hayter vs. Skye Blue

Last Friday on RAMPAGE, Jamie Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker were victorious over Skye Blue and Madison Rayne in tag team competition, marking the third time Hayter and Skye shared the ring, and their second in tag team action. As with the previous two bouts, it was Hayter who scored the victory, but it was Rayne who ate the Ripcord Lariat and the subsequent pinfall, prior to Toni Storm and Hayter ending up in a brawl.

This Wednesday night Skye Blue will have a chance at redemption for Friday's loss, and to even the score for her singles defeat at Hayter's hands last April in their Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier. A victory for Skye could even upset title contention given that Jamie Hayter is poised to challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Interim Women's World Championship at FULL GEAR 2022 in less than two weeks. It's a huge night of opportunity for Skye, but a must-win for Jamie Hayter given what is on her plate; can Skye Blue shock the world?

THE CHAMPION IN THE HOUSE...

Last week on DYNAMITE, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley topped The Firm's Lee Moriarty in an Eliminator bout, but Mox certainly didn't appear the victor after Ethan Page's boot made an impact with Jon's skull. It wasn't the first assault on Mox perpetrated by The Firm, and it likely won't be the last as long as he remains AEW World Champion, but it's also not something Mox is likely to let slide unanswered.

What will Mox have to say, or more likely do, about this? We will find out Wednesday night when the champion is in the house at The Agganis Arena!

MJF SPEAKS...

And not only will the AEW World Champion be in the house, we will also hear from his #1 Contender at FULL GEAR 2022 for the first time since The Firm decimated MJF! Never one to be at a loss for words, what will Maxwell Jacob Friedman have to say to the men who used to be on his payroll? Tune into TBS this Wednesday night to find out!

FACE-TO-FACE...

So last week Dr. Britt Baker and Saraya were set to have a sit-down with Renee Paquette, but as seen in the video embedded above, the former AEW Women's World Champion elected to no-show, leaving Renee to interview her friend solo, and perhaps that friend situation is why Baker didn't show up in the first place.

During the course of the interview, when Renee asked Saraya where she stood from a medical standpoint, Saraya chose her words carefully, stating that there was one more doctor she wanted to consult before making her situation public. Clearly she was referring to Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D and this Wednesday night they will be face-to-face in Beantown! Will Baker show up this time? Seems likely given that her friend Tony Schiavone will be the man in the center of the drama this week!

What will go down between Baker and Saraya when they have to look each other in the eyes on Wednesday night?

This Wednesday night, DYNAMITE returns to Boston and the Agganis Arena for a jam-packed night of action! The AEW World Champion will be in the house ahead of his FULL GEAR 2022 bout with MJF, a huge eight-man tag is on the books with FTR & The Acclaimed against Swerve In Our Glory & The Gunns, Hayter versus Blue, and the kick-off of the Men's World Title Eliminator Tournament with Kingston versus Page! Plus, Danielson meets Guevara in a 2 Of 3 Falls Match while Dr. Baker goes face-to-face with Saraya, and #1 Contender MJF appears!

DYNAMITE comes to you live on TBS starting at 8pm ET/7pm CT this Wednesday night, and the official AEW YouTube channel is your best spot to catch up on the latest action from Dynamite and Rampage, as well as recent editions of AEW DARK:ELEVATION, AEW DARK, and ROAD TO!
