AEW Dynamite is LIVE at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on TBS and streaming on HBO Max tonight from Orlando, Florida, with a star-studded card!
Swerve Strickland has been complimentary of one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions, “The Jet” Kevin Knight, but Knight is tired of being called the future when he believes he’s the present of pro wrestling. He’ll have a chance to make his case when Knight battles Swerve one-on-one. And the other half of JetSpeed, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, takes on Samoa Joe just days after JetSpeed and “Hangman” Adam Page took the AEW World Trios Championships from The Opps on Collision Maximum Carnage!
Plus, it’s been months in the making, but tonight, we’ll finally see Kenny Omega and “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family clash, as Omega tries to work his way back into AEW World Championship contention while Alexander looks to continue his path of destruction.
Speaking of the Don Callis Family, they made a big move on Collision Maximum Carnage when they attacked AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, which set off a brawl with the Death Riders. Tonight, Moxley teams with Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia to take on Hechicero, Lance Archer and Rocky Romero in a Trios street fight!
And after successfully defending the AEW World Championship twice in three days last week, MJF will be live in Orlando for Dynamite! With more challengers battling for position, what will MJF have to say?
Meanwhile, Triangle of Madness will be live in Orlando to answer the challenge put out by AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander, and Timeless Love Bombs, “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa take on “Megasus” Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford in tag team action!
All that and more will go down tonight in Orlando! Here’s your complete AEW Dynamite preview for January 21, 2026.
AEW Dynamite Matches, Preview for Wednesday, January 21
Swerve Strickland vs. AEW World Trios Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight of JetSpeed
Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland likely thought he was being complimentary of “The Jet” Kevin Knight when he called Knight the future after JetSpeed were unsuccessful in securing a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Days later on Collision Maximum Carnage, though, Knight told Swerve he’s tired of hearing about the future, because he’s the here and now after beating Darby Allin and AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic.
Swerve told Knight to focus on winning the AEW World Trios Titles, which is exactly what Knight did when he scored the pin for his team to defeat the Opps and become AEW World Trios Champions for his first AEW gold alongside “Speedball” Mike Bailey and “Hangman” Adam Page.
Knight will try to keep the momentum going and prove he’s the present of pro wrestling when he faces Strickland for the first time, tonight!
Kenny Omega vs. “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family
Since the start of the year, Kenny Omega has made his intentions clear: He wants the AEW World Championship. However, despite being a former AEW World Champion, Omega knows he needs to rack up some big wins to get back into contention, so when he was confronted by the Don Callis Family last week, he threw out a challenge to “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander. Callis agreed, but only if they waited a week.
It was Alexander who put Omega’s friend, Kota Ibushi, on the shelf with a broken leg back in October. Now, Omega has a chance at revenge in a high-quality matchup, hoping to boost his record. For Alexander, it’s a chance to inflict further damage on the forever enemy of Callis in Omega. It’s Omega vs. Alexander for the first time anywhere tonight on Dynamite!
Samoa Joe vs. AEW World Trios Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey of JetSpeed
With “Hangman” Adam Page promising to take everything from Samoa Joe and The Opps, he recruited JetSpeed to join him in successfully challenging for the AEW World Trios Titles on Collision Maximum Carnage. Now, an angry Joe is looking for revenge on “Speedball” Mike Bailey in their first singles encounter!
Street Fight: Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia) vs. Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Lance Archer and Rocky Romero)
The Don Callis Family and Death Riders managed to stay out of each other’s way for a while, until the inevitable meetings in the Continental Classic. But Jon Moxley beating Kyle Fletcher and AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada to win the AEW Continental Championship at Worlds End hasn’t sat well with Callis.
On Collision Maximum Carnage, Callis and Moxley argued on commentary in between matches, but when Moxley tried to exit, he was attacked from behind by Lance Archer and Rocky Romero! That turned into an all-out brawl between the Death Riders and the Callis Family, as any unspoken truce they had was destroyed. Later, Moxley and the Death Riders made it clear that they handle their business differently, and a line had been crossed. Now, these two dangerous factions will go to war in a street fight!
AEW World Champion MJF Will Be LIVE in Orlando!
Last week at Dynamite Maximum Carnage, AEW World Champion MJF turned away a spirited challenge from ROH World Champion Bandido to retain the AEW World Title in the first defense of his second reign. Then, last Friday, in an effort to carve out his legacy as a great traveling champion, MJF took the AEW World Championship to Limitless Wrestling in Maine, a prominent independent promotion from his past, and beat Alec Price. Coming off two victories in the span of three days and with plenty of challengers, such as former AEW World Champions Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page, what will MJF have to say tonight?
Tag Match: Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs. Timeless Love Bombs (“Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa)
Penelope Ford returned to action alongside Megan Bayne for the first time in three months on Collision Maximum Carnage with a dominant victory over Danielle Kamela and Viva Van. However, right after the match, Ford and Bayne were confronted by Storm and Shirakawa, who made it clear they haven’t forgotten the assaults they’ve faced at the hands of Bayne, Ford and Marina Shafir. Tonight, they’ll try to settle those violent differences in tag team action!
Non-Title Tag Match: AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs. Alec Price & Jordan Oliver
FTR are set to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against the Don Callis Family’s Mark Davis and Jake Doyle next week on Dynamite in Austin, Texas, but first, they’ll be in action tonight in Orlando. Harwood and Wheeler will take on the rising, young team of Alec Price and Jordan Oliver, who have been impressive in Ring of Honor. Plus, Price is coming off the biggest match of his life last Friday when he challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship in Limitless Wrestling. How will FTR handle this motivated pair before taking on Davis and Doyle next week?
Triangle of Madness Respond to AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander’s Challenge
Thekla pinned AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander last week at Dynamite Maximum Carnage, when Statlander took a spear for her partner, the TBS Champion and one-half of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, Willow Nightingale. That gave Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue a Trios victory over Statlander, Nightingale and Harley Cameron.
After Dynamite, Statlander acknowledged she was pinned and wondered aloud what Thekla planned to do about it. With the ball in their court, how will Triangle of Madness handle Statlander’s challenge?
