AEW Dynamite was LIVE from Austin, Texas, on TBS and HBO Max! And the stakes were high with three championships on the line and AEW World Championship challengers trying to improve their records.
In the opening contest, Kenny Omega added to his winning ways with a victory over Rocky Romero of the Don Callis Family. We learned that next week, Omega would face the winner of tonight’s main event between Swerve Strickland and Andrade El Ídolo at AEW Grand Slam Australia, with the winner getting an AEW World Title shot at AEW Revolution! On that note, Andrade came away victorious in the main event thanks to some shifty tactics, so he’ll move on to face Omega next week!
After the match, AEW World Champion MJF ran into Omega, Andrade and “Hangman” Adam Page as the night came to a close. However, earlier in the evening, we learned Brody King will face MJF next week in an AEW World Championship Eliminator Match!
And on a night full of title defenses, the champions reigned supreme. AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander retained against Thekla. TNT Champion Mark Briscoe handed El Clon his first loss – but after the match, his TNT Title Open Challenge for Collision was answered by the debuting Tommaso Ciampa! And thanks to timely revenge from AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, FTR kept their AEW World Tag Team Championships from Mark Davis and Jake Doyle!
Plus, Moxley defeated Ace Austin in a Continental Eliminator and faced the Don Callis Family. All that and much more went down on Dynamite! Here are your complete results!

Kenny Omega def. Rocky Romero of the Don Callis Family
We were welcomed to AEW Dynamite by the chords of Kenny Omega’s entrance music, which meant it was time to jump right into the action! Rocky Romero felt the same and jumped Omega at the bell. Omega quickly turned things around in the corner and sent Romero to the opposite side. He followed with a jumping back elbow and threw Romero to the outside. Omega followed with a plancha that connected, and he took some extra time to celebrate with the fans!
On commentary, we learned that Samoa Joe suffered a non-contact injury in training and is not cleared to compete, though he remains in the hunt for the AEW World Championship.
Omega returned to the ring and continued his dominance, which put Romero literally on the ropes! As Omega lined up an early V-Trigger, Romero bailed to the outside. Omega followed, so Romero returned to the ring and used the referee as a distraction to get a cheap shot on Omega. Romero took advantage of the opening with a spinning reverse DDT to get a nearfall! Romero tried for three running clotheslines in the corner, but on the third, Omega stormed out with a boot to Romero’s face. Romero reversed a snap dragon suplex attempt and tried a sliced bread, which Omega escaped. Romero kicked Omega into the corner, but he decided to do a goal celebration by sliding to the opposite side. Omega responded to that with a devastating V-Trigger to the back of Romero’s head! Omega hit the snap dragon on a second attempt, followed by another V-Trigger! Omega finished Romero with a One-Winged Angel for the 1-2-3!
After the match, Tony Schiavone joined Omega in the ring and said that with the win, he’s one of the top four contenders for the AEW World Championship, along with Omega’s former tag team partner, “Hangman” Adam Page, and the two men in tonight’s main event, Swerve Strickland and Andrade El Ídolo! We learned that the top two contenders would move on to Grand Slam Australia on February 14 to meet in a one-on-one match, and the winner of that match would face the AEW World Champion in an AEW World Championship match at AEW Revolution on March 15. Next week in Las Vegas, Omega will face the winner of Andrade/Swerve! Omega said he hasn’t felt this good in years. He said this is supposed to be a place where the best wrestle, which is why he staked his name to being the one to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship. He’ll be ready no matter who he has to face, which brought out Hangman!
Page said he learned he’d rather battle alongside Omega than against him, but if they have to fight, then so be it. Page admitted he made a mistake as AEW World Champion when he looked ahead to a future battle with Omega instead of focusing on The Opps. But because of HOOK and a kick to the balls from MJF, he lost the AEW World Championship and the chance to regain it. Page said that for as much fire and passion as Omega has now, he won’t be the next champion. And it won’t be Andrade. And it won’t be Swerve.
“The next champion is going to be ‘Hangman’ Adam Page!”
“WHOSE HOUSE?”
Swerve marched to the ring and said he needed to remind everyone yet again that he came back to AEW to get back his AEW World Championship. And since he’s been back, he hasn’t lost. He wasn’t pinned in the 4-Way at Worlds End. The mission remains the same to get back to the AEW World Championship. Swerve stepped up to Omega and said, “It can be against anybody, and I do mean anybody!”
Omega said it sounds like Swerve wants more than the championship; it sounds like he wants a fight. Swerve said, “Oh, Kenny, more than you know!”
We were unfortunately interrupted by the voice of Don Callis, who told Swerve that his recent undefeated streak would be coming to an end at the hands of Andrade later tonight. And then, Andrade is coming for Omega. But Callis said he still has something special for Page and everyone who came out here and tried to do business because the Don Callis Family still runs this show. Omega said Callis is talking about what everyone else has to worry about when he should be worrying about himself. Omega took off running after Callis, who scampered to the back!
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Babes of Wrath Have a Proposition for Sisters of Sin
We took a special look at what brought us to tonight’s AEW Women’s World Championship match between Statlander and Thekla. AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, Babes of Wrath, were with Statlander and said if Sisters of Sin, Julia Hart and Skye Blue, agreed to stay out of tonight’s match, then Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale will do the same and put their AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships on the line this Saturday at Collision! Cameron said Stat Daddy Long Legs is going to take out Thekla tonight!
AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley (c) def. Ace Austin of Bang Bang Gang
At the bell, Moxley floored Austin with a boot to the face! Moxley lit Austin up with chops in the corner. Moxley mounted Austin in the adjacent corner and pounded away for 10 punches and then some. Austin used his powerful legs to turn a side headlock takedown into a crucifix, but Moxley kicked out. Austin came back with a pair of chops, which Moxley goaded him into, as the two began to exchange strikes. Austin stood his ground with Moxley and escaped to the apron. He went into some unique offense to swing his momentum back in the ring for an armdrag followed by a clothesline that sent Moxley to the floor. Austin tried to follow out, but stayed on the apron and used his unique athleticism to avoid a trip before kicking Moxley in the jaw!
Austin’s momentum continued to build as he stayed on Moxley outside the ring before smartly grinding down Moxley in the ring with a focus on Moxley’s injured leg. Moxley turned a submission into a pin attempt, but Austin rolled out of it and went to the corner. Moxley knocked the wind out of Austin with shoulder tackles before putting Austin on the top turnbuckle. Austin cried out in pain as Moxley dug his fingernails into Austin’s back to set him up for a superplex.
Austin turned things around with a clothesline on Moxley. He came back with a knee/Russian leg sweep combo, followed by an impressive leg drop. Austin pounded Moxley in the corner with 10 rapid-fire clotheslines and was clearly feeling it. He tried to springboard off the ropes, so Moxley avoided it and just flattened Austin with a lariat! Moxley tried a piledriver, but Austin backdropped out, and the two men traded pin attempts until they got back to their feet for another strike battle. This seemed like exactly what Moxley wanted until Austin connected with a spin kick to Moxley’s head! Moxley might be down and out! Austin stomped Moxley with Moxley’s head trapped between Austin’s legs! Austin thought he had him, but Moxley kicked out at two!
There are dueling “Let’s go Moxley!” “Let’s go Ace!” chants in the crowd.
Another strike battle was happening in a slower gear for both men until Moxley backed Austin back into the corner. Moxley charged in, but Austin moved under the turnbuckle connectors, so Moxley went sternum-first into the buckle! Austin came back in the ring with a gamengiri, but a sloppy pin only got him a two count. Austin set up for The Fold, but Moxley was ready with a cutter! Moxley snatched Austin for the Death Rider and connected to get the pinfall victory!
As Moxley lingered in the ring, Konosuke Takeshita stormed to the ring and pointed right at Moxley’s AEW Continental Championship, clearly wanting a shot, as he was the last man to defeat Moxley back in the Continental Classic. The two men exchanged words, and Moxley seemed to understand exactly what Takeshita wanted. As Takeshita left the ring, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle came from the crowd and attacked Moxley from behind! Davis grabbed Mox in a choke so Doyle could put a forearm across Moxley’s dome! Back in the aisle, Takeshita was seen shaking his head as he walked away.
TNT Championship Match: Mark Briscoe (c) def. El Clon of the Don Callis Family
Don Callis joined commentary and announced that when the Don Callis Family brings all the belts home, he will rename the program “Don Callis Championship Wrestling.”
As both men battled for the advantage, El Clon stunned Briscoe with a back elbow that may have knocked out one of Briscoe’s precious remaining teeth! Briscoe kicked out at two, as El Clon did push-ups during his pin attempt. El Clon hit a huge chop in the corner, yet Briscoe was ready for another in the opposite corner and escaped to the apron. Some Redneck Kung-Fu gave Briscoe the advantage, as he continued the attack on the outside. Briscoe threw a chair in the ring and set it up near the ropes, but before he could do anything with it, El Clon sprang back into the ring to take it away. El Clon tried to use it as a weapon, but missed and ate another chop from Briscoe. El Clon used his unique escapability to flip forward in slow motion, which evaded Briscoe twice until Briscoe had enough and leveled El Clon with a lariat. Briscoe connected with a scissor kick through the ropes and followed with a cannonball off the apron! After celebrating with the crowd, Briscoe returned to the ring, but El Clon grabbed Briscoe’s head from the outside and trapped it in the ring skirt! With Briscoe unable to see, El Clon hit a drive-by boot and shifted the match in his favor!
El Clon kept the pressure on back in the ring, lighting up Briscoe with a precise combination of kicks in the corner. El Clon walked up the ropes and flipped right into a moonsault for a spectacular near-fall! With El Clon on the top turnbuckle, Briscoe found some separation and avoided running into a boot so he could hit a thrust that knocked El Clon to the floor! Briscoe dove and flipped through the ropes to clobber El Clon! El Clon cut off Briscoe with a kick and knocked him into the second rope, which he kicked into Briscoe’s chin! Briscoe came back to pepper El Clon with jabs, and as he went for the knockout blow, El Clon hit a head kick. The two men took each other out with clotheslines at the same time!
Briscoe and El Clon got back to their feet to trade strikes, although each shot seemed to fire up Briscoe even more! Briscoe grabbed El Clon for a head-and-neck suplex followed by a clothesline in the corner! He nailed a fisherman’s bomb and quickly scaled the ropes for a Froggy Bow that landed on target! 1-2-EL CLON KICKED OUT!
Briscoe hooked El Clon’s arms for a stalling Jay Driller and appeared to nail it, but El Clon was able to absorb the blow and landed on his feet! Briscoe and the entire crowd were stunned! El Clon hit a spin kick to the gut and lured Briscoe into a Pele kick that sent the TNT Champion to the outside! El Clon ran to the apron and nailed Briscoe with a moonsault! El Clon sent Briscoe back in the ring and came off the top with a double-foot stomp. Briscoe fought his way out of El Clon’s grasp only for El Clon to kick Briscoe in the head. El Clon went for the Portal Bomb, but Briscoe escaped out the back and rolled El Clon up for the pinfall victory!
After the match, Briscoe grabbed a mic and said, “Hell yeah!” Briscoe reiterated that he was reigning and defending, so because they are back in Texas on Saturday night, he likes the concept of the TNT Title Open Challenge, with an asterisk – no members of the Don Callis Family. As Briscoe went to say more, the lights went out.
A heartbeat played as we saw a heart beating on the screen. As everything turned black, unfamiliar music played as PSYCHO KILLER appeared on the screen.
TOMMASO CIAMPA IS ALL ELITE!
He has answered Briscoe’s TNT Championship open challenge for Collision! Ciampa and Briscoe went face-to-face and exchanged words, with Briscoe holding up his TNT Title. Ciampa played some mind games with Briscoe and kissed him on the cheek before leaving the ring to fire up the fans!
Kazuchika Okada Apologizes to Kyle Fletcher
Renee Paquette was backstage with “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher, and she revealed he was here at the request of the AEW International Champion, “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada. Okada addressed Fletcher’s recent comments to Don Callis that someone needed to speak to Okada. Okada ran through the events of Worlds End, where he used a screwdriver on Konosuke Takeshita, which Fletcher planted for Fletcher to use on Moxley. Okada said he wasn’t thinking and just wanted to win, but he also wanted Fletcher to make the finals so the AEW Continental Championship would remain in the Don Callis Family. He apologized to Fletcher for what happened. Fletcher said he was really, really mad at Okada after Worlds End, but it takes a big man to accept his faults, so he accepts Okada’s apology. The two shook hands, and Fletcher walked away.
AEW World Champion MJF vs. Brody King in an Eliminator Match Next Week!
MJF asked Taz why they were working in a dump like this. That didn’t earn MJF any new fans, but before he had a chance to say anything else, Brody King made his way down the ramp! MJF yelled for King’s music to be cut.
“You would think with big-ass ears like those, you’d be able to listen, but apparently you’re as deaf as you are big and stupid!”
That only made King march faster to the ring, as MJF bailed to the apron. He asked whether King was going to be a professional so they could speak like men. King obliged, and they both got back in the ring, as the crowd chanted, “BRODY!”
MJF reminded King of what he said last week. King needs to beat better talent, yet here he is following MJF around like “a little puppy.” MJF gave us a history lesson on King’s former partners and brought up his current partner, ROH World Champion Bandido. MJF suggested King could follow him around and be paid accordingly, although they’d have to fix King’s aesthetic. He even suggested King could wear a nice suit and a scarf.
MJF said King’s dream of beating MJF for the AEW World Title was cute and just a dream. To hold the most prestigious title there is, you need to be a leader like MJF. And just like all these “schmucks,’ King is nothing more than a follower.
King said he doesn’t need to follow anyone. What MJF described was friends, which is something MJF has never had. King admitted that MJF was right: he needed to beat better competition. That’s why he sat with Tony Khan and figured out the best competition to prepare him for an AEW World Title Match…MJF! The AEW World Champion was confused, so King explained that next week they have an AEW World Championship Eliminator Match and when he beats MJF, he’ll get an AEW World Title shot at Grand Slam Australia, where he will become the leader that this company needs!
Young Bucks are Throwing a Superkick Party
We took a look back at the downfall of the Young Bucks, although both Matt and Nick Jackson said their power trips took them absolutely nowhere. Now, it’s time to get back to doing what made the Young Bucks the Young Bucks. It all starts next week in Las Vegas, and the AEW tag team division is invited to a superkick party!
AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Kris Statlander (c) def. Triangle of Madness’ Thekla
The Sisters of Sin came to the top of the ramp with Thekla, but remained behind as part of the agreement to get their shot at AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, The Babes of Wrath, this Saturday night on Collision!
Thekla extended a hand at the bell and pulled it away only to strike Statlander and bail out of the ring. Thekla returned and ate some shots before creating her own web on the ropes. Statlander came right after her and dropped a leg on Thekla over the ropes. Statlander dropped Thekla on the floor with an impressive delayed vertical suplex and followed with a slingshot into the steel steps. She threw Thekla back in the ring, but took too long celebrating and didn’t see Thekla come running across to boot Statlander back to the floor. Thekla jumped off the apron with a stomp to the small of Statlander’s back and continued her aggressive attack around the ringside area.
Back in the ring, Thekla ripped away at Statlander’s face with a submission before trapping the AEW Women’s World Champion in a tarantula over the ropes. However, Statlander used her impressive power to whip Thekla into the top turnbuckle. She threw Thekla to the opposite side and followed with a boot. Statlander nailed a spinning fisherman’s buster for a nearfall!
Thekla escaped to the apron and hit a boot to the side of Statlander’s face. Thekla climbed to the top, so Statlander charged, and Thekla landed on the mat. Stalander floored Thekla with a clothesline and went to the top, but Thekla was there with a rising strike to stop her. Thekla met Statlander on the top with a spider suplex and followed with a crossbody to the outside! Back in the ring, she covered Statlander for a two-count. After a reversal, Thekla nearly cut Statlander in half with a spear, but couldn’t get over in time for a cover. The two fought their way back up to their feet, but when Statlander asked for more, Thekla spat in her face! Thekla trapped Statlander in an armbreaker and followed with a stomp to the back of the head! Statlander kicked out at the nick of time!. Thekla set up for another spear, but Statlander was ready with a kick to stop it. She tried for Staturday Night Fever, but Thekla rolled through for a two-count!
Statlander missed a discus lariat that sent her into the corner, so Thekla charged for another spear attempt, which Statlander turned into a swinging, gutwrench powerbomb! She pulled Thekla back up for a successful Staturday Night Fever to get the pinfall victory and an AEW Women’s World Championship defense!
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Babes of Wrath, Harley Cameron and TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, came out to celebrate with Statlander in the ring. “Megasus” Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford came out to the top of the ramp for an interesting staredown at all the champions in the ring.
Don Callis Lays Out the Family Plans
With Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita standing on either side of him, Don Callis explained just how he planned for things to go down within his Family so that they can bring all the gold home to “daddy.” Andrade El Ídolo has already made his intentions clear for the AEW World Title and will get one step closer when he beats Swerve Strickland in the main event. Callis talked up having the AEW International Champion, Kazuchika Okada, and praised Takeshita for his performance this evening, then turned his attention to the man he’s beaten before, AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley. Although if he could change one thing, Callus said Takeshita should take the lead from Fletcher and forgive Okada. Callis said Fletcher is synonymous with the TNT Title, and no matter what happens between Mark Briscoe and Tommaso Ciampa, Fletcher will be waiting. Callis went to make a martini before Mark Davis and Jake Doyle challenged for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Takeshita questioned Fletcher forgiving Okada. Fletcher had no answer, as Takeshita shook his head and walked away.
AEW National Champion Ricochet and GOA Attack “Jungle” Jack Perry
After we saw how “Jungle” Jack Perry beat Anthony Bowens to earn a rematch with Ricochet for the AEW National Championship next week in Las Vegas, we were back on Dynamite with a scene from earlier in the day, with Ricochet commandeering a camera. He showed GOA holding Perry on the ground, but Perry fought back briefly until he was thrown into multiple cases by Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona. Ricochet continued to berate Perry until GOA put him through a table with a double crucifix powerbomb! Ricochet said, “Back to you, Schiavone!”
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) (c) def. Mark Davis & Jake Doyle of the Don Callis Family
Doyle started things with Wheeler, with Doyle getting the better of Wheeler with multiple body blocks to send Wheeler to the mat. He tagged in Davis, and the two put Wheeler right back down with a double shoulder tackle. Wheeler pushed Davis into his corner so Harwood could tag in, as they wailed away on Davis. Davis pushed out and ate some chops until he lit up Harwood with one of his own and body-slammed him with authority! Wheeler lured Davis and Doyle to the outside, but when he tried for a dive, they were ready with the catch and darted him into Harwood!
Eventually, Harwood fought his way back into the match by standing tall in a strike battle, although it didn’t last long, as Davis put Harwood back down with a momentum lariat. Wheeler showed his power by countering Doyle into a powerslam, but Doyle got back up! He ran through Wheeler with a body block and then stacked up FTR in the corner. Davis and Doyle nailed running splashes in the corner. Davis and Harwood fought on the top turnbuckle, with Wheeler giving Harwood just enough time to turn things around so he could nail Davis with an avalanche belly-to-back suplex as Wheeler came off the other corner with a splash! Davis kicked out! Big Stoke couldn’t believe it on commentary!
Davis kicked Wheeler out of the ring and got Harwood in a sleeper, which Harwood fought until Davis was distracted by the Death Riders arriving at ringside. Harwood slipped out of the sleeper, which sent Davis to the outside. Jon Moxley cracked Davis in the head with the AEW Continental Championship to get some revenge for the attack earlier in the night, all while the referee was dealing with FTR in the ring. Davis walked right into a Shatter Machine, and FTR got the victory to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships!
“Timeless” Toni Storm Backs Up Orange Cassidy Against Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta
Renee Paquette was backstage with Orange Cassidy and asked him about his long-standing rivalry with his former friend, Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders. Cassidy said that who Yuta was five years ago is unrecognizable from who he is now. He began to detail Yuta’s unfortunate hair choices before Yuta interrupted him. Yuta started to run down Cassidy’s looks, with Marina Shafir showing up to grab Cassidy’s hair. However, “Timeless” Toni Storm bellowed, “Unhand him!”
Storm told Shafir to get out of here, so Shafir asked if Storm needed more milk or to get her girlfriend some more flowers. Storm said Shafir needed to “piss off,” and when she and Citrus Boy meet Shafir and Yuta, they are going to be in some sh**!
Andrade El Ídolo of the Don Callis Family def. Swerve Strickland
Our main event had major AEW World Championship implications, as the winner would face Kenny Omega next week on Dynamite! Swerve and Andrade got in each other’s faces and traded reversals with plenty of taunting until Swerve sent Andrade to the floor with a hurricanrana! Swerve tried a reverse moonsault to the floor, but Andrade moved, and Swerve landed on his feet. Andrade sent Swerve into the steel steps and posed for the crowd before taking a woman’s phone for a selfie, which she rewarded with a kiss on a tissue (and what looked to be a phone number!).
Andrade finally turned his attention back to Swerve to stay on the offensive. They fought near the apron, with Andrade stopping a Swerve springboard with a stiff forearm to the head. Andrade ran up the ropes and twisted to the outside on top of Swerve! Andrade missed a moonsault from the top, but landed on his feet and nailed Swerve on the second attempt to get a near-fall! Andrade knocked Swerve to the outside and scaled the ropes for a moonsault, but Swerve met him on the apron with a dangerous Death Valley driver!
Swerve brought Andrade onto the guardrail and tried to hit the same piledriver he hit on Kevin Knight last week, but Andrade backdropped Swerve off the guardrail to the floor. Both men beat the 10-count back in the ring just in time and slowly got back to their feet. Andrade seemed to get the better of a strike battle and went for The DM, but Swerve escaped with an elbow, only to run into Andrade’s boot and back elbow! Swerve kicked out at two! With Swerve down in the corner, Andrade rushed in for a double-knee strike, but Swerve stopped him with a House Call out of nowhere! Andrade kicked out! Swerve tried to go to the top, so Andrade stopped him and hit an avalanche poisonrana! Andrade connected with the running knees to a downed Swerve in the corner! Swerve still somehow kicked out! Andrade hit a straight-jacket DDT! Swerve kicked out! Andrade was incredulous!
The crowd tried to will Swerve back into this, and he reversed Andrade into a jackknife pin attempt for a near-fall! Andrade reversed Big Pressure into a near-fall, but when Swerve bounced up, he connected with another House Call! Swerve picked up Andrade for Big Pressure, but Andrade grabbed the referee’s arm so he could low-blow Swerve undetected! Andrade connected with The DM and beat Swerve in the main event!
AEW World Champion MJF Meets Some Challengers
Renee Paquette tried to get a word with MJF about his AEW World Championship Eliminator Match against Brody King next week on Dynamite. Kenny Omega interrupted to say he should have said hi earlier. He just wanted to remind MJF, “One more week. One more win. And then I’ll see you for that (AEW World Title) at Revolution!” He tried to shake MJF’s hand, but MJF blew him off and walked away, only to come face-to-face with Andrade, who made it clear he wants MJF’s Triple B. As MJF exited the arena, he was stopped at his car by “Hangman” Adam Page, but quickly jumped in and told the driver to speed away as Dynamite came to a close!
Catch AEW Collision on Saturday, 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on TNT and HBO Max LIVE from Arlington, Texas!
