AEW Dynamite Results

AEW Dynamite was LIVE from St. Paul, Minnesota, on TBS and HBO Max! With less than a month until AEW Dynasty on April 12 in Vancouver, British Columbia, tensions were on the rise and big stakes were decided tonight on Dynamite!

The night began with AEW World Title #1 Contendership vs. EVP Status, as Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega battled it out for the second time in two months, but this time with much more on the line. Omega survived everything Swerve threw at him and managed to win with a One-Winged Angel to remain EVP and become the #1 Contender to the AEW World Championship!

Later in the night, AEW World Champion MJF was confronted by Omega, who threw down the challenge to MJF for Dynasty. Next week, the two will come together for the official contract signing, but if any physicality happens, the match is off!

In the main event, Darby Allin somehow weathered what felt like a never-ending assault from RUSH in a no-countout match, and in the end, a resourceful Allin was able to get a three-count for the win. However, he was attacked by members of the Don Callis Family after the match, apparently connected to Callis and MJF's business dealings.

AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla faced a far more intense and serious Mina Shirakawa, and we nearly had a new champion on a few occasions. That was until Thekla used brass knuckles without the referee’s knowledge to knock out Shirakawa and retain the AEW Women’s World Title!

Plus, Will Ospreay challenged PAC for Dynamite next week and Jon Moxley for Dynasty, the Death Riders were victorious in mixed Trios action, and big threats were exchanged between FTR and Adam Copeland.

All that and much more went down on Dynamite in St. Paul! Here are your complete results!

AEW Dynamite Recap Tonight for St. Paul

AEW World Championship #1 Contendership vs. EVP Status: Kenny Omega def. Swerve Strickland to become the NEW #1 Contender to the AEW World Title

We began the night with a historic match featuring unprecedented stakes. After a simple lockup, a distraction by Prince Nana gave Swerve the small opening he needed to pounce on Omega. He took the fight right to Omega by dropping him throat-first on the top rope, followed by a running big boot. Omega sprung out of nowhere with a hurricanrana, sending Swerve to the floor. Omega sent himself over the top and crashed onto Swerve! Omega bounced Swerve’s head off the announce desk twice, followed by another into the steel steps. Omega chopped Swerve against the barricade, and Swerve landed sitting in a chair. Omega charged from the opposite side with a V-Trigger to Swerve’s head! Omega tried to suplex Swerve on the floor, but he pushed Omega into the barricade and returned him to the ring.

Swerve trapped Omega in a submission around his neck until Omega battled out of it. They traded chops until Swerve ran into a couple of Omega’s boots in the corner. Omega took Swerve face-first into the mat and then did it again with a leg lariat. Swerve kicked out at two, but Omega gestured to the crowd that he had things under control.

Omega caught Swerve in You Can’t Escape and connected with a moonsault to get another two-count. Omega dropped Swerve’s neck across the back of his knee, which put Swerve against the ropes. He stopped Omega’s V-Trigger attempt, and Swerve had a brief flurry, but a knee strike from Omega landed on Swerve’s jaw. Omega connected on a V-Trigger to the back of Swerve’s head while he was pressed against the second turnbuckle! Omega lifted Swerve on his shoulders while on the second rope, but Swerve escaped. Swerve met Omega on the top rope, and they nearly fell to the floor, but Swerve recovered for a super backdrop suplex, and both men crashed to the mat hard!

They struggled back to their feet and leaned against each other to get back up before unleashing forearms on each other. Omega slipped behind Swerve for snap dragon suplexes, and Swerve looked like he was unaware of his surroundings. Omega tried for a third on the apron, but Swerve resisted and pulled the referee’s shirt, which allowed Swerve to nail Omega with a low blow! He used a similar tactic in their first match, which helped secure a victory! Swerve came down the apron with a kick to Omega’s chest! Swerve and Omega wound up on the top of the barricade, where Swerve spiked Omega with a piledriver! Omega was in dire straits, as Swerve rolled him back in the ring to nail a vertical suplex into a sitout powerbomb, but Kenny kicked out! Omega reversed Big Pressure only for Swerve to come back with a House Call to Omega’s face! With Omega over the second rope, Swerve came off the top with a stomp to the back of his head. Swerve went to the adjacent corner and nailed another Swerve stomp to Omega in the middle of the ring! 1-2-KICKOUT BY OMEGA!

Swerve called for another House Call, but Omega collapsed. Swerve picked Omega up, so Omega backed him into the corner and fired away with back elbows! The flurry gave Omega some breathing room, as the crowd chanted for him to continue the comeback! Omega and Swerve traded shots in the middle of the ring with Swerve attempting to fire up Omega, which worked too well, as Omega booted Swerve across the ring and into the corner. Swerve came back with a powerslam, and Omega found a way to kick out again!

Swerve taunted Omega with a finger pistol to his head, so Omega responded with multiple knee strikes to set up Swerve for a V-Trigger against the ropes! Omega tried for a One-Winged Angel, but Swerve escaped and tried for a Vertebreaker, but Omega escaped! Omega got Swerve back up for a second time, so Swerve gouged Omega’s eyes. Swerve hit the Verterbreaker on the second try! Omega kicked out again! Swerve was beside himself! Swerve went to the second rope but missed another stomp, which allowed Omega to come back with a pump knee that put Swerve on the ropes. Omega nailed another V-Trigger! Omega put Swerve on his shoulders and delivered a One-Winged Angel to get the pinfall victory! He remains EVP and is the NEW #1 Contender to the AEW World Championship!

The Accomplished History of Darby Allin

We took a very special look back on the accomplishments and wildest moments of Allin’s career in AEW, in addition to his partnership with Sting and his trek to the summit of Mount Everest. Allin said he stands for everything this company represents.

Will Ospreay Wants PAC Next Week and Moxley at Dynasty!

Ospreay responded to PAC’s recounting of their initial meeting and questioned its validity. But he told PAC he could fix all of this, so PAC should meet him in Winnipeg on Dynamite next week!

Then, Ospreay responded to Moxley and the “timeout” Moxley gave him. Ospreay thanked Moxley for the time he got with his son, but not for the fear that Moxley instilled in Ospreay’s family. Moxley left his mark on Ospreay forever.

“Jon, I want you at Dynasty, you motherf***er!”

Mixed Trios Match: Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia and Marina Shafir) def. SkyFlight’s Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin) & Zayda Steel

Moxley attacked before the bell and took Dante to the outside, while Garcia did the same to Darius. In the ring, Shafir went right to work on Steel with a big kick to the chest. Steel avoided a second and put Shafir down with a hurricanrana! Darius tagged in, so Garcia tagged in on the other side. Darius avoided Garcia in the corner and sent him into the buckle before connecting on a jumping clothesline for a one-count. Moxley tagged in and stomped Darius in the corner until he was flat on the mat. Moxley backed up, so Darius was able to get back up and put Mox down with a dropkick. Dante tagged in to work some innovative double-time offense on Moxley, sending him to the floor. Dante jumped off Darius’s back to take out Garcia, and Steel knocked Shafir off the apron. Top Flight and Steel hit triple dives on the Death Riders, and they were fired up!

Moxley turned things around back in the ring on Dante, and he became the isolated member of his team in the wrong corner. After several minutes, Moxley started lighting up Dante with shots, but it appeared to wake him up, as he was able to nail Mox with a dropkick! Garcia tagged in and ran across the ring to knock Darius off the mat! Dante hit a jumping knee on Garcia and a blind kick on Shafir! Steel tagged in and went right after Shafir! She took down Shafir with a Thesz press, followed by a tornado DDT off Garcia to Shafir for a two-count! Steel connected on a rising knee in the corner and tried a crossbody, but Shafir caught her. Steel got out of it with a pair of strikes, but was stopped when Wheeler Yuta grabbed her leg at the ropes. Shafir kicked Steel in the back of the head and put Steel on her shoulders before tagging Moxley for a Doomsday Device, but Steel was able to escape and sent Shafir into Moxley, which crotched him on the top turnbuckle!

Steel escaped the grasp of Garcia, and Dante tagged in, so Top Flight hit a tandem underhook DDT! Yuta got on the apron to distract the referee, so Christopher Daniels pulled him down and tried a clothesline, but Yuta ducked and hit Daniels with a Busaiku knee! Steel flew through the ropes to take out Yuta! Back in the ring, Garcia locked Darius in the DragonTamer while Shafir and Moxley cleared out the corner to stop anyone from breaking it up. Moxley stomped Darius while he was still in the submission, which allowed Garcia to get the pinfall for the victory!

Moxley addressed Will Ospreay after the match. He said it’s not nice to say mean things about people on TV. Moxley knows Ospreay is very upset right now, but whatever issue Ospreay has, for Moxley and the Death Riders, it’s not personal. But if Ospreay wants a big grudge match at Dynasty, he’s got it. But until then, Moxley warned Ospreay not to let his mouth get him in trouble.

The Young Bucks Regrouped After Revolution

Matt and Nick Jackson regrouped after losing to FTR at Revolution, but they bounced back with a Trios victory alongside AEW National Champion “Jungle” Jack Perry last week. And their goal remains the same: to become AEW World Tag Team Champions for a record fourth time!

AEW World Trios Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey def. Rocky Romero of the Don Callis Family

Romero mocked Bailey’s kicks at the start, but wound up eating those words when Bailey dropped him twice, followed by a kick flurry that sent Romero to the outside. Bailey followed Romero out with a triangle moonsault that was right on target! Romero used a cheap tactic to get a brief advantage and threw Bailey over the top, but Bailey skinned the cat as Romero celebrated far too early. Romero turned into a roundhouse kick followed by a spin kick in the corner from Bailey! Bailey went up top and smashed Romero in the back with Ultima Weapon to get the quick and dominant victory!

After the match, we took a look back at the violence of the Texas Death Match at Revolution that saw MJF retain his AEW World Title against “Hangman” Adam Page, which means Page can never challenge for the AEW World Championship again.

AEW World Champion MJF vs. Kenny Omega is Set for Dynasty!

For the first time since Revolution, AEW World Champion MJF returned to Dynamite with a cockier pep in his step than usual.

MJF insulted the wonderful St. Paul fans and told them to show him respect because he is the AEW World Champion. And they are looking at the man who “hanged the Hangman!” Thanks to MJF, Page can’t ever (MJF said ever many times, fourteen to be exact) be the AEW World Champion again. MJF said Hangman didn’t put up much of a fight, and the match was one of the easiest he’s ever had. MJF took the time to praise himself and began explaining why he deserved everything, doubling down on catch phrases and closing on:

“Ain’t nobody on the level of the Devil.”

That brought out the #1 Contender for MJF’s AEW World Championship, Kenny Omega! Omega went to the ring and faced off with MJF. MJF asked if he could help Omega. Omega grabbed a mic and called MJF out for his ridiculous claims about the match he had with Page and calling himself the devil. Omega ran down his various iterations, but said even at his worst, he never called himself a god. Although maybe he should now, since MJF wants to be the devil.

Omega pushed through things he shouldn’t have because he felt a sense of responsibility and respect for the fans, which was his own fault. So when he faced MJF for the AEW World Title the first time, MJF was better than a 60-80% Kenny Omega and Omega can admit that. But now, Omega is back, and boy, is he back. Omega wasn’t able to beat Swerve on the first try, but it taught him that everything matters outside the ring. And now Omega won’t fall for any bulls*** hijinks MJF has to offer. This version of Omega is pretty close to 100%, and Omega would say it's probably better than MJF. The fans know it.

“The most important part, Max, and I think it’s the part that scares you the most, is that you know, you son of a bitch!”

Omega wanted to make it official for Dynasty, so he extended a hand. MJF said, “The God vs. The Devil? You’re on!”

MJF walked away from the handshake in a pure act of disrespect. Omega ended things by bidding adieu and saying goodnight. BANG!

Cope Promises to End the Careers of FTR

Earlier today, Renee Paquette caught up with Christian Cage and Adam Copeland ahead of their AEW World Tag Team Championship match with FTR at Dynasty. Cage said life is about choices, and FTR chose to turn on Copeland. They chose to attack Cage and Cope after they beat them. They chose to spike piledrive Beth Copeland. But even lower than all that, they chose to spike piledrive Cage! He stormed away, as Copeland lovingly called him an “assh***.”

Copeland changed his tone and told the story of how he met Cash Wheeler, but he understood why FTR took him out because he is the ultimate opportunist. But when they put their hands on Beth, a woman whose cooking they’ve eaten – their kids have played together – that was all thrown away. He knows they love the AEW World Tag Team Titles, so they will take them from FTR, but he will do them one better. Eventually, he’s going to find them and end their careers.

However, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler decided they had heard enough and came out to the stage to interrupt Dynamite. Amazingly, Big Stoke was on his feet, but he also had a mic in his hand. He said no one should care what Adam and Christian have to say, but you should care about what the three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions have to say.

Wheeler said they chose to dump the dead weight of Cope. They didn’t want to carry his dead carcass over the finish line of his career. They made choices, and look where they are now. They take a backseat to no one. Wheeler admitted Copeland helped him in 2009, but it’s not 2009; he doesn’t need Copeland now. His family is right here with Dax and Stoke. Copeland’s time has passed.

Harwood said Cage and Cope were shells of their former selves, and now they are just a nostalgia act, and everyone knows it. Harwood loves Cope’s wife, but what he did to her made Cope wonder if it was all worth it. If Harwood was willing to do that to her, what will he do to Cope? Top Guys, out.

The music of Orange Cassidy played, as it was time for our next match, so he and Roderick Strong made their way down the ramp. On the way, Stoke intentionally bumped into Cassidy, who gave him a push with typical OC intensity. Still, that was enough to set off FTR, who pushed Cassidy away, which brought Strong back up the ramp to go after FTR as they, along with Stoke, escaped to the back.

The Dogs (David Finlay and Clark Connors) def. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong)

After all that, it was time for a match! Cassidy started with Finlay, but quickly gave way to Strong, who went right after Finlay. After exchanging shots, Finlay tagged Connors. Strong was able to bring Connors back to Cassidy, so they could trade chops on Connors before Cassidy connected on an elbow drop that started on the ropes and worked down to the mat while Strong kept Connors draped over his knee. The Dogs got Cassidy into their corner, but he fought off their double-team attempt and took both of them out with a double hurricanrana, sending Finlay and Connors to the outside. Finlay caught Cassidy’s dive and dropped him for Connors to lay Cassidy out with a running shoulder block. Strong came over to help and got the same treatment!

The Dogs continued to work over Cassidy in their corner and knocked Strong off the apron to keep him from making a tag. Finlay cut off Cassidy with a chop to the chest, so Connors was able to connect on a drive-by shoulder block to Cassidy’s head on the apron. Back in the ring, Cassidy reversed Finlay’s offense into a Stundog Millionaire. Cassidy needed some more time to avoid Connors and Finlay before he could make a tag to Strong. Strong was on fire as soon as he hit the ring with a running knee to Finlay in the corner, followed by double boots to Connors on the floor. He nailed Finlay with a backbreaker and continued with a dropkick to Connors. Strong punished Connors in the corner and hit another backbreaker, but Finlay broke up the pin.

Finlay knocked Cassidy off the apron while Connors put Strong down with a powerslam. Strong came back to fight off Finlay and Connors, which allowed him to tag Cassidy. Strong used Cassidy as a weapon to attack Finlay and Connors in opposite corners. Strong threw Cassidy at Connors for a tornado DDT, but Connors kicked out! Strong tagged back in and caught a charging Finlay before tagging Cassidy. Strong was sent into Cassidy on the top turnbuckle, so Finlay was able to take down Strong. However, Cassidy came off the top with a diving DDT to Finlay.

Connors went after Cassidy, but Finlay pulled OC to the floor. Strong had Connors on his shoulders for End of Heartache, so Finlay came back to break it up with a blindside shot! The Dogs obliterated Strong with a high/low chop block/spear. Cassidy was back with his hands in his pockets and put Finlay on the mat with a DDT! Cassidy nailed a PK on Connors and called for an Orange Punch, but Connors avoided it, and Finlay chopped Cassidy’s knee. Finlay held Cassidy in a vertical suplex while Connors came off the top with a spear to Cassidy in a move they call The Full Clip! That was enough to keep Cassidy down for the three-count!

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion Address The Babes of Wrath

“Colossal” Lena Kross and “Megasus” Megan Bayne asked what they needed to talk about that everyone can’t already see. The Babes of Wrath suffered from greed and false confidence, and it cost them. Kross said if Nightingale bit off more than she could chew the first time, this time, they’ll make her choke. Bayne said Cameron should stick to what she’s good at and play with her puppets. The Babes will be sorry they asked for another shot.

Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita Clear the Air

TNT Champion “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher recalled defeating his former mentor, Robbie Eagles, to retain his TNT Title at Slam Dunk Saturday Collision. Fletcher said he might be too narrow-minded when it comes to his goals. He’s undefeated in singles competition in 2026, which is something Kenny Omega can’t say. It’s also something AEW World Champion MJF can’t say. Fletcher doesn’t think there should be a business arrangement with MJF and the Don Callis Family because they should be fighting MJF to bring the AEW World Title back to the Callis Family. And Fletcher is just the man to do that. But first, he has something to take care of.

Fletcher spoke to Konosuke Takeshita and said he knows Takeshita isn’t a fan of Okada or ProtOkada, but Fletcher doesn’t want anything to get in the way of what they have. Takeshita said nothing could ever come between us, especially not Okada. ProtoShita came first. They embraced, and ProtoShita is fine again!

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: “The Toxic Spider” Thekla (c) def. Mina Shirakawa

The crowd chanted for Mina at the bell, although she wasn’t her usual bubbly self. Instead, Thekla called out Shirakawa’s serious nature, and Shirakawa immediately went on the attack. She beat Thekla from corner to corner and dropped the AEW Women’s Champion with a draping DDT from the top turnbuckle. Thekla went to the floor, so Mina followed and nailed a suplex there. Thekla tried to fight back, so Shirakawa chopped her in the chest. Shirakawa nailed a tornillo from the apron, but Thekla was able to kick out.

Shirakawa sent Thekla to the ropes, but Thekla held on, so Shirakawa charged and got drop-toeholded to the ropes. Thekla followed with a kick to the face. They fought on the apron, but Shirakawa escaped to the floor and DDTed Thekla from the apron in front of the announce desk! After Shirakawa kept the punishment up around the ringside area, Thekla turned things around with a stomp from the apron to the back of Shirakawa’s neck.

With Thekla in control, she started to mock Shirakawa’s usual mannerisms in the ring. Shirakawa came back with stiff shots until Thekla cut her off in the corner. Thekla got in position for her finishing spear, but Shirakawa was ready for it with a flying knee! Shirakawa mounted Thekla and unloaded with punches! Shirakawa put Thekla down with a slingblade and slapped Thekla into the corner. Mina hit a running back elbow and a dropkick from the top, but Thekla beat the count!

Mina twisted Thekla in a single-leg crab and pulled her ponytail until Thekla broke the hold by getting to the bottom rope. Shirakawa missed a spinning backfist, which allowed Thekla to hit a big right hand. Mina answered with a rolling forearm, so Thekla answered with a spear! But she was too beat up to try for a pin! Thekla was woozy, but got back to her feet and removed her belt to whip Mina. The referee took the belt away, so Thekla produced brass knuckles! Shirakawa was able to avoid the knuckles and nailed a backfist! She lifted Thekla for a back suplex, but Thekla cracked Mina with the brass knuckles unbeknownst to the referee! She covered Shirakawa for the pinfall and successful AEW Women’s World Title defense!

Kenny Omega Gets Encouragement From “Speedball” Mike Bailey

Renee Paquette was with Kenny Omega in the back and asked him about calling his shot for the AEW World Championship against MJF at Dynasty. Before he could answer, Paquette informed him that next week, the official contract signing would take place, but if there were any physicality, the match would be off.

Omega said leave it to MJF to put in a stipulation like that, but Omega knows to expect that. Omega said it’s weird to be called a god, but if it takes a god to take the belt off MJF, he’ll be the god to do it. “Speedball” Mike Bailey walked over and reminded Omega that they had wrestled last year at Dynasty. He meant it then, and he still means it now that he admires Omega. He thinks the professional wrestling god is the right way to describe Omega, and he hopes Omega goes on to Dynasty this year to beat MJF for the AEW World Title. Because when he does, Bailey will be first in line for a shot, but right now, he just wants to shake Omega’s hand. Which he did, for an uncomfortably if comedically long time!

Ricochet Feels Screwed Out of the AEW National Championship

Ricochet was with Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona to apologize to everyone for losing his temper the last time they saw him. He apologized to Liona for pushing him away, but still wondered what Kahn was doing. But that all happened because he was screwed by this company by having to defend the AEW National Championship against 20 other men, and he didn’t even get pinned or submitted to lose it to “Jungle” Jack Perry. He was defending that championship in singles matches all around the world, but now guys like Kenny Omega are getting an AEW World Championship opportunity for winning one match?

Ricochet reminded Omega of their lone meeting, in which he knocked Omega’s block off. He’s tired of people like Omega and nobodies getting opportunities. So if he has to prove it again, he’ll kick Omega’s ass and anyone else who tries to get in their way.

No Countout Match: Darby Allin def. RUSH of LFI

The main event began with RUSH knocking Allin off the top rope to the floor! RUSH threw Allin into the barricade and brutalized him with strikes before another shot at the barricade. He picked up Allin again to whip him into another barricade and then the steel steps! RUSH pulled the steps away from the ring post, but Allin fought back and tried to throw RUSH into the steps. RUSH stopped him with a stiff shot and then another throw into the barricade. RUSH threw Allin into the steps with a sickening smack that saw him go flying with a bad landing.

RUSH continued to fight Allin around the apron until Allin trapped him in the ring skirt. Allin struck RUSH multiple times to set up for a dive, but Allin crashed and burned hard when RUSH got out of the way. Allin was bleeding from the forehead, so RUSH bit him, and they continued to fight on the apron until RUSH threw Allin back to the floor with a belly-to-belly suplex!

Despite the referee and medical personnel trying to check on Allin, he continued the match, which meant far more punishment from RUSH. RUSH feigned giving Allin the bull’s horns in the corner, but he stopped and hit a single kick instead. RUSH posed on the mat, so Allin flew out of the corner to attack him! RUSH countered with a big headbutt and tried to suplex him from the apron to the floor, but Allin countered with a dragon sleeper over the ropes.

With RUSH out of it, Allin came off the top with a Coffin Drop to RUSH across the second rope! RUSH fell to the floor, so Allin followed after with a torpedo dive! Allin sat RUSH in a chair in front of the announce desk and came off the top with a dropkick all the way to the floor! That was brutal for both men! Allin threw RUSH back in, but RUSH kicked out at one!

RUSH and Allin traded strikes, although RUSH had way more behind his shots. Allin came back with a quick combination followed by a Code Red for a nearfall! Allin charged at RUSH, so he threw Allin into the corner with a belly-to-belly suplex! RUSH stomped Allin in the corner, so Allin called for more and got a leaping elbow to the face! RUSH missed the Bull’s Horns in the corner. Allin captured RUSH’s leg for what appeared to be a Scorpion Death Lock, but Allin jackknifed over RUSH to get the surprise three-count! Allin has now won his last seven matches!

As Allin celebrated on the ramp, Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family grabbed him from behind and nailed a piledriver! MJF’s business dealings with Callis have put Allin in the crosshairs of the Callis Family! Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta and Lance Archer continued the assault in the ring, as Andrade El Ídolo argued with Callis about what was happening. Archer chokeslammed Allin in the middle of the ring to leave him in a heap as Dynamite came to a close.
