AEW Dynamite was live on TBS and HBO Max from Nashville, Tennessee, as part of our Thanksgiving Eve tradition, as we began the 2025 Continental Classic!
In the Gold League, “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher defeated the defending AEW Continental Champion, Kazuchika Okada, in stunning fashion for the second straight year with just minutes remaining in the time limit. We also saw a stunning upset when “The Jet” Kevin Knight defeated Darby Allin! And in the Blue League, it was a perfect night for the Death Riders with Jon Moxley’s win over Máscara Dorada and Claudio Castagnoli’s victory against Orange Cassidy in the main event before a brawl broke out between many of the Continental Classic participants!
Meanwhile, the new AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe, and The Opps had their celebration interrupted by a united Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page, who took out members of The Opps Dojo with chains! We also learned the first team to punch their ticket to the finals of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament when the Babes of Wrath defeated Sisters of Sin. They’ll now await the winners of Timeless Love Bombs vs. Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir in the other half of the semifinals, which will be a Holiday Hardcore Death Match next week on Dynamite!
All that and so much more went down on this special Thanksgiving Eve edition of Dynamite!

Continental Classic Gold League: “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher (3 points) def. AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada (0 points)
After we took a look back at what went down between Okada, Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita at Full Gear, with both Takeshita and Fletcher declaring their intentions to enter the Continental Classic, it was time for the first match of the Continental Classic and the Gold League! This was a rematch from last year’s Continental Classic, which saw Fletcher defeat Okada en route to winning his league. Of course, Okada still wound up winning the tournament and walks in as the defending Continental Champion.
When the bell rang, Nashville broke out in a “HOLY SH*T!” chant! (That was definitely not because Don Callis was on commentary.) Both men feigned a handshake and tried a cheap shot at the same time. After an exchange of reversals, the two got into a shoving match, although cooler heads prevailed, and they slapped hands. The match slowed a bit after that, as Okada wore Fletcher down with a side headlock until Fletcher backed Okada into the ropes and faked hitting him in a clear homage to Okada. Okada answered by doing the same until the two traded shoulder blocks, with Fletcher knocking Okada to the ground with his power.
Fletcher took his time chopping Okada until Okada got out of the way and fought back with some forearms. Fletcher flattened Okada with a flying forearm to get a two-count on a lazy cover. Fletcher remained in control with a big bodyslam, and when he scaled the top rope, Okada kicked the referee into the ropes to crotch Fletcher on the top turnbuckle! Not the gibblets!
Okada finished the job by dropkicking Fletcher to the floor as only he can. The defending Continental Classic Champion was in control. After taking Fletcher on a slow tour around the ring for some additional punishment, Okada continued his methodical attack in the ring, showing no signs of urgency. A slam by Okada led to Fletcher kicking the referee into the ropes, which dropped Okada crotch-first on the top turnbuckle. Fletcher met him with a superplex and took Okada down with a massive boot before landing a big forearm in the corner, followed by a high-angle suplex for a near-fall. Okada battled back with a neckbreaker over his knee and returned to the top rope. Once again, Fletcher met him there, but Okada was ready for it this time and knocked Fletcher to the ground. He nailed the elbow drop from the top!
Okada posed and went for a Rainmaker, but Fletcher reversed it into a half-and-half suplex. Fletcher tried to follow with a big running boot, so Okada bailed, and Fletcher followed to the apron, where Okada swung Fletcher’s leg to send him to the corner of the ring! Okada dropped Fletcher with a draping DDT from the apron to the floor. Sensing victory could be near, Okada got Fletcher back in the ring and hit another neckbreaker for a two count.
Okada made the mistake of mocking Fletcher with some weak kicks, so Fletcher fought back up, and the two slugged it out! They exchanged massive kicks, and Okada hit a precise dropkick followed by a tombstone. He went for another Rainmaker, but Fletcher turned it into a Michinoku Driver out of pure desperation. As the two men gathered themselves on the mat, Justin Roberts announced five minutes remaining in the 20-minute time limit of Continental Classic Rules.
Fletcher brushed off some weak shots by Okada only to be caught in a backslide, which he turned into a Rainmaker! But he kept wrist control and went for another, only this time Fletcher ducked and lawn darted Okada into the corner. He came out with a massive powerbomb, but Okada got up at the last moment. Fletcher stayed on Okada with a kick to the back of the head and tried for a brainbuster, but Okada escaped and nearly ran Fletcher into the referee. Then, Okada nearly went into the referee when Fletcher reversed a Rainmaker. Fletcher took that opportunity to clobber Okada with a big kick in the corner and looked for the brainbuster, which Okada escaped with a knee and a rake to the eyes. He tried for another Rainmaker, so Fletcher ducked and reversed it into a Cazadora pin to get the three count! For the second year in a row, Fletcher has defeated Okada in the Continental Classic! He takes the first three points for the Gold League!
After the match, Callis entered the ring to raise the hands of both men after they shook hands.
Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks Mend Fences
Lexy Nair caught up with Kenny Omega outside his locker room and asked if it was safe to say that he was reunited with the Young Bucks. Omega admitted it was complicated because he was once not a model employee or friend and had been fooled by Don Callis as well, so he’d be a hypocrite not to take that into account and think long and hard about where things stood with the Bucks.
“If my friends are willing to accept me and my faults. And if the fans are willing to accept me after what I’ve done, who am I to say that the Bucks don’t deserve a second chance?”
As Omega returned to his locker room, Matt and Nick Jackson emerged from the same door just a few seconds later.
“Hey, what’s up?” said Matt to a baffled Lexy before the Bucks walked away.
The NEW TNT Champion Mark Briscoe Speaks on His Victory
We were taken to comments from the new TNT Champion, Mark Briscoe, shortly after his victory over Kyle Fletcher at Full Gear.
“Man, there are no words, man – times in life where there are no words. I lost the most important thing to me, talking about family; I lost my brother. I lost the other half of myself. And it's been a long road since then. I didn’t know if I wanted to carry on. I didn’t know if I wanted to do this anymore without him. But I knew I had to make him proud. Do it for us. And it was failure after failure after defeat after defeat after loss after loss after disappointment after disappointment, man.
“But you know, they say, there’s a time and a season for everything, and when family’s on the line, like my crew. My boys, my family, the Conglomeration? Man, that changes everything, man. I got my road family and got my home family, and this is for both of them. This is for both of them. For my nephews, my nieces, my mom, my dad, my wife, my kids, my sister, my in-laws. This is for Delaware, baby! This is for Sussex County! This is for the Conglomeration!”
And as he looked to the sky covered in a mix of dried blood and with his first AEW gold draped over his knee, Briscoe pointed to the sky and said, “This is for you, dawg. We did it, baby.”
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinal: Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron) def. Sisters of Sin (Skye Blue and Julia Hart)
Cameron and Hart opened up the match, but Willow quickly entered for a double-team suplex, followed by a unique assisted senton! Hart made the right call and escaped to the corner and tagged Blue. Nightingale unleashed with clotheslines in the corner, exchanging counters until dropping Blue with a short-arm clothesline. Cameron tagged in and Nightingale tried to slam her onto Blue, who moved and tagged Hart. Hart knocked Nightingale to the outside and hit Cameron with a standing moonsault for a two count. Blue tagged in for a double flapjack on Cameron, but before they could do any more damage, Nightingale pulled Hart to the outside and Cameron nearly stole the match with a pin on Blue!
Cameron came back with a slingblade and splashes in the corner before mounting Blue for punches. Hart came over to create a distraction, so Blue was able to take Cameron down to the mat the hard way. Sisters of Sin have swung the match in their favor. Hart made her tightrope walk for the jumping forearm to Cameron and tagged Blue, who ran through Cameron with a knee, but it only got a two. Blue threw Cameron into a tarantula over the ropes, which Hart took advantage of with a dropkick to Hart. Cameron and Blue battled for position in the middle of the ring until Cameron dropped Blue and finally tagged Willow!
Willow brutalized Hart with her power in the corner before putting Hart down with a spinebuster, but not before Blue had already made a blind tag. Blue attacked Willow from behind and nailed Willow with a DDT. Sisters of Sin hit kicks to the front and back of Willow at the same time, but it was only good for a near-fall. Willow reversed a suplex attempt by Hart and Blue into one of her own on both of them! Cameron tagged back in, as Willow hit a stampede and then slammed Cameron on top of Blue, but she kicked out just in time.
Blue came back with a big knee to Cameron but ate Cameron’s boot on a charge in the corner. Cameron showed off her evolving repertoire with a beautifully executed Russian leg sweep. She went to the second rope, but Blue popped up and trapped Cameron against the top turnbuckle for a short-range thrust kick. Blue followed with a powerbomb, and Hart went for a top-rope moonsault but overshot her landing, so she turned it into an elbow drop. Nightingale broke up the pin attempt and ate a superkick to the outside from Blue for her troubles. Sisters of Sin connected with multiple thrust kicks until Cameron got a blind tag from Nightingale and sent Hart into Blue. Willow dropped Blue with a lariat as Cameron hit a backstabber on Hart. Nightingale hit The Babe with the Powerbomb for the pinfall victory!
Babes of Wrath move to the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament Final!
Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland Ruin Samoa Joe’s Celebration
Tony Schiavone introduced Samoa Joe as the new AEW World Champion and first-ever Double AEW World Champion, as he remains one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions with Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs. HOOK was initially not with Joe, Shibata, and Hobbs for their entrance. Before Schiavone had a chance to say anything, Joe grabbed the mic and said, “Tony Schiavone, tonight is a celebration, so don’t ruin mine, and take your hillbilly ass out of here.”
Schiavone exited without incident, but in the parking lot, Prince Nana dropped off Swerve Strickland, and Swerve began his walk towards the ring with a massive chain around his neck and a staple gun. He was joined by “Hangman” Adam Page, who had a chain of his own!
Joe didn’t seem too phased by this and sent Shibata to “go get the scrubs.”
“Now, before I was so rudely interrupted. Tonight, we celebrate…”
Nashville erupted in a “WHOSE HOUSE? SWERVE’S HOUSE!” chant, as members of The Opps Dojo ran out to surround the ring. Joe tried to get them to shut up and made sure everyone knew just how well his mind worked, because everything went according to plan.
“From Shibata nullifying old Eddie Kingston to Big Will Hobbs and his amazing feats of strength, to me, Muscle Busting and defeating Hangman Adam Page in the middle of the ring. But I know that many of the simpletons here will have a hard time comprehending what actually went down, so I supplied you with this very convenient video package so you could appreciate my brilliance. So let’s see how we got here today!”
With that, we watched the timeline of events that included HOOK’s return and message to run on his own, or maybe not. That was followed by HOOK saving Eddie Kingston at All Out and a conversation between Joe telling HOOK that, at some point, they’d still have his back. We were shown HOOK tapping quickly to Joe in the #1 contender match, which got Joe his rematch with Page at Full Gear. And then this past Saturday at Full Gear, HOOK took out Page with the AEW World Championship and revealed his allegiance with The Opps remained.
Joe was ready to admire his work, “Incredible, incredible – some of my best work. And finally, all of you can have a champion who is worthy of being called the greatest in this industry. So without further ado, I want to bring out the linchpin of this grand endeavor, ladies and gentlemen, this is HOOK!”
HOOK entered the ring and exchanged greetings with the rest of the Opps, including a hug with Joe. And now HOOK was ready to speak.
“Hey Joe, you were right. All these rednecks are too stupid to realize they are looking at the greatest second-generation wrestler this business has ever seen. So do me a favor…”
WHOSE HOUSE?
While his music played, Swerve sauntered around the crowd with the chain until we heard Hangman’s music. He stopped for a shot at an arena bar and had a chain of his own entering from the opposite side! Members of the Opps Dojo tried to attack Swerve and Hangman but were quickly dispatched. The rest of the Dojo members surrounded The Opps, so Swerve and Hangman hit the ring and Joe, Hobbs, Shibata and HOOK scrambled up the ramp.
Swerve and Hangman proceeded to lay waste to the rest of the Dojo members with chains and the staplegun. They sent the ultimate message by hanging two members over the ropes with the chains, as The Opps looked on from the top of the ramp in disgust.
Continental Classic Blue League Match: Jon Moxley (3) def. Máscara Dorada (0)
Before the match began, we heard Moxley comment after Full Gear, noting that Kyle O’Reilly and Darby Allin have had durability issues. As both men made their entrance, we learned that Orange Cassidy demanded his Blue League match with Claudio Castagnoli get moved up to tonight after what happened to O’Reilly at Full Gear.
Dorada tried with little success to go into his usual high-flying offense, as Moxley kept powering him down. In fact, it was Moxley who hit the first high-risk move of the match with a torpedo-like dive that took down Dorada and sent Moxley flying into the top of the guardrail. Back in the ring, Moxley missed a charge in the corner, so Dorada hit a springboard crossbody. The two fought onto the raised aisleway, so Dorada tossed Moxley back to the floor and tried to follow with a running dive, only to fly right into Moxley’s forearm. Moxley took his time enjoying that collision and then tossed Dorada back in the ring. He hit a release vertical suplex and began stretching Dorada on the mat.
Back on the outside, Dorada sent Moxley into the steps and then nailed a cutter over the guardrail! In the ring, Dorada hit a three-kick combination followed by a code red for a near-fall. Dorada hit a tornillo to the floor but took too much time getting back in the ring and ate a cutter. Moxley hit 10 punches in the corner, only for Dorada to come out with a neckbreaker. Dorada tried to lock in a cross armbreaker, but Moxley escaped with repeated blows to the head followed by a forearm strike to the side of the head.
Mox went for the Death Rider, but Dorada nearly won it with an inside cradle. Dorade connected with a huge kick and went to the top for a 450, which connected! Moxley kicked out at the last possible moment, but Dorada took him down again and returned to the top. Dorada went for a shooting star press, but Moxley caught him in a Dutch choke to make Dorada pass out to collect three points.
With the match over, Marina Shafir was allowed to come into the ring to celebrate with Mox, but they were interrupted by “Timeless” Toni Storm!
“Timeless” Toni Storm Makes the Semifinal Stipulation
Storm marched right to the ring, as Moxley tried to hold Shafir back and stand in between the two future opponents.
Storm had a mic, “Jonny, Jonny, Jonny. You are not dreaming. Your eyes do not deceive you. This is ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm live and in living color, darling. And judging by your actions the past few weeks, I’m also the toughest, most resilient, least-bitchy person standing in this ring! Now, despite your love of cargo pants, I really like you, Jonny. But where you operate in fear, operate in hate, I operate in love, and what I do for love is far more violent than you could ever imagine, darling!
“Now, I would love to stay and chat all night, just us gals, but I have a message for your cavewoman daughter. As per our victory at Full Gear, my lover and I will decide the stipulation for our semifinal contest. And it has to be brutal enough to exact our revenge. It must be entertaining enough for all these sickos! Now I have stayed awake for four nights straight, and I just couldn’t come up with a match. So this morning, I rolled over, and I saw my sweet, sweet Mina. There she is.”
Mina Shirakawa appeared at the top of the ramp, as Storm continued.
“And I realized that I haven’t got her anything for Christmas. Well, Mina, merry early Christmas. My gift to you, the heads of two sloptarts on a silver platter! Next Wednesday, no tags, no countouts, no disqualifications in a Hardcore Holiday…DEATHMATCH!”
Moxley had to hold Shafir back as Timeless Love Bombs saluted them from the stage.
AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander Looks Ahead
Renee Paquette caught up with the AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander, to ask what’s next after her victory against TBS Champion Mercedes Moné at Full Gear, which made Stat only the second person to pin Moné in AEW.
Statlander said she’s seeing too much disbelief over her being the first to win the AEW Women’s World Title and the TBS Championship and disbelief over her being the only person to pin Toni Storm and Moné. Using Paquette as a directional guide, Statlander said we can look to the past, stay put in the present or head off to the future. She knows where she’s going, so who’s coming with her?
Continental Classic Gold League: “The Jet” Kevin Knight (3) def. Darby Allin (0)
This was the Continental Classic debut for Knight and the first-ever meeting between Knight and Allin. Allin controlled and grounded Knight in the early going until Knight hit a big knee and flipped Allin awkwardly into the mat, which sent Allin to the outside, grabbing at his knee. Knight tried to throw Allin back in, but Allin rolled back out, so Knight followed. He avoided an Allin charge at the guardrail, but Knight moved and nailed Allin from the adjacent guardrail.
Knight took too much time to admire his work, so when he tried to springboard back in the ring, Allin knocked him back to the outside and landed a huge dive! Allin went up for the Coffin Drop, but Knight leapt to the top and connected with an avalanche back suplex! Knight couldn’t take advantage quickly enough for a pin attempt, so he tried to wear down Allin once again.
The two fought on the top turnbuckle until Allin shoved Knight off, only for Knight to run back up for a hurricanrana! He followed by dropkicking Allin to the floor and tried to chase after him. Allin found some separation and dropkicked Knight from the raised aisle to the floor! Back in the ring, the two traded reversals until they both connected with clotheslines at the same time!
“THIS IS AWESOME!”
Allin avoided Knight on the ramp until Knight spiked him with a DDT. Knight couldn’t move Allin, so he went back to the ring and was willing to take the countout. However, when Allin started stirring, Knight got a head of speed and destroyed Allin with a leaping clothesline over the top rope onto the ramp!
Knight went for the UFO from the top, but missed, and Allin hit a code red for a two-count! Knight stopped Allin from hitting a Coffin Drop and trapped him in the tree of woe. Knight scaled the parallel turnbuckle for a coast-to-coast dropkick to Allin’s face! Knight quickly pulled Allin to the middle of the ring and hit the UFO Splash on the second attempt to get the victory! Knight gets the biggest win of his career and the first upset of the Continental Classic!
Knight and Allin shook hands after the match, although Allin was clearly still in pain.
Eddie Kingston vs. Katsuyori Shibata on Thanksgiving Collision!
Kingston knew everyone wanted his thoughts on what happened at Full Gear, but he didn’t want to talk about HOOK. However, Kingston did hear Joe mention his name earlier in the night and said that’s cool. He knows he’s not in line for a title shot right now, but he would be if he took out Shibata on Collision. Tony Khan made that match official! What a Thanksgiving treat!
Continental Classic Gold League: Claudio Castagnoli (3) def. Orange Cassidy (0)
Our main event looked like a sprint, as Cassidy tried to capture Castagnoli in multiple pin attempts until Castagnoli cut those off with a backbreaker, followed by a brutal throw face-first to the corner. He landed a running uppercut, but Cassidy escaped the Neutralizer and hit some of his signature kicks before sending Castagnoli to the outside. Cassidy followed with a dive, so Castagnoli fired back with an uppercut. He sent OC to the guardrail and hit another uppercut. He tried it again, but Cassidy was ready and moved, only for Castagnoli to snatch and swing him into the LED boards!
Back in the ring, Castagnoli literally swung Cassidy by his arms, which could have easily dislocated both arms. Castagnoli continued to throw Cassidy around, but the crowd willed Cassidy back into it until he sank his hands into his pockets. A kick to the hip and a PK connected for Cassidy, but Castagnoli avoided a Beach Break and wound up on the outside. However, Cassidy followed with a tornado DDT on the floor! Castagnoli missed Cassidy on the apron, and Cassidy fought in to hit a Stundog Millionaire. Cassidy came off the top right into an uppercut, but it was only suitable for a two-count.
Castagnoli rained down with hammer strikes and continued with a giant swing. He called for another uppercut, but was caught by an Orange Punch! Cassidy went for another, but he was popped up only to hit a DDT on the way down! Cassidy hit another Orange Punch out of a pop-up attempt and then hit a Beach Break. Castagnoli kicked out!
Cassidy ripped off his elbow pad and called for another Orange Punch. He missed, and Castagnoli ran over him with a clothesline. Cassidy managed to turn a Neutralizer into a near-fall, but got popped into another massive uppercut, and Castagnoli immediately pinned him for the win and three points!
After the match, the Death Riders joined Castagnoli in the ring, as Renee Paquette was there to get a word with him after both he and Moxley won their first tournament matches, and PAC was set to face “Speedball” Mike Bailey on Collision. Before Paquette could get any answers, the Death Riders decided to attack Cassidy when he pushed back at Wheeler Yuta’s taunts. Roderick Strong ran out to help, along with officials, but Konosuke Takeshita ran out to go after his Blue League opponent, Strong. Máscara Dorada, Kevin Knight, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Kyle Fletcher all ran into the fray until Dorada took out a host of bodies on the floor. Cassidy dropped Wheeler Yuta with an Orange Punch, as we saw Kazuchika Okada watching it all go down safely from the ramp!
