It was our honor to celebrate the sixth anniversary of AEW Dynamite with all our great fans both in attendance in Hollywood, Florida, and watching on TBS and HBO Max for this LIVE 2.5 Hour Special!
Despite an alliance and victory, things broke down with “Hangman” Adam Page and Samoa Joe, setting up an AEW World Championship match for WrestleDream on October 18. The AEW Women’s World Championship will also be on the line that night as “Timeless” Toni Storm asked Kris Statlander for a one-on-one match. Statlander agreed and then was victorious in the main event alongside Darby Allin against Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta, although it was Jon Moxley who had the final word.
Speaking of Mox, he, Claudio Castagnoli, and Daniel Garcia were unable to defeat Page, Joe, and Hobbs earlier in the evening, although it was after that match that things broke down between Page and Joe. Kenny Omega made a successful return, only to be taken out by the surprise appearance of Andrade El Idolo as a new member of the Don Callis Family. And we also saw El Clon activate and align with Callis after costing Orange Cassidy his TNT Championship match with Kyle Fletcher.
Plus, Mercedes Moné wants a local competitor for Title Tuesday in Jacksonville next week, and The Demand and The Hurt Syndicate agreed to a Street Fight! All that and more went down in Hollywood, Florida!
Here's everything that happened on AEW Dynamite for October 1, 2025, including your full results and match recaps.
AEW Dynamite Recap Tonight for Hollywood
The Young Bucks are Broke
Earlier today, the Young Bucks stood outside the Hard Rock Casino planning a memorable entrance for the sixth anniversary of Dynamite. While Matt went off to make further plans, Nick went inside to gamble with a bag of money.
It did not go well.
When Matt returned, he informed Nick he needed the money to pay for all the production value but grabbed an empty bag. We returned to a live shot of “The Broke Bucks” in the ring for our opening contest.
Kenny Omega & AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido (Brody King and ROH World Champion Bandido) def. Josh Alexander & the Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)
Luckily, all that extra pomp and circumstance wasn’t wasted, as Kenny Omega made his return to action with an impressively large entrance! And just like Josh Alexander wanted, he and Omega started things off, giving Omega a chance for some revenge against one of the men who took him out weeks ago.
Alexander and Omega traded a couple back and forth shots, and that was enough for Alexander as he tagged out to Matt Jackson. Omega drove Matt to the canvas and tagged in King, who stacked up the Bucks for Bandido to tag in and hit an assisted crossbody from the top.
Bandido avoided a flurry of offensive attempts from the Bucks, although they weren’t having any of his attempts to do the Macarena. The Bucks mocked Bandido with their own version of the dance, so he hit them with a double hurricanrana and did one of his own! Omega got back in and dropkicked the Bucks, so he could have his own dance with Bandido!
King tagged in to double clothesline the Bucks, giving Omega and Bandido the opportunity to invite their partner to join in on the fun. He didn’t show any urgency to dance, so Alexander attacked from behind because he’s the Walking Weapon, not the Walking Waltz.
Alexander was sent back out of the ring and Omega launched himself onto the Bucks and Alexander on the floor! Bandido used some assistance from King to hit a huge moonsault from the top to the outside, as the AEW World Tag Team Champions and Omega continued to pour on the offense!
Alexander got back in the ring and was immediately bodyslammed by King. Matt Jackson followed right behind him and was promptly bodyslammed onto Alexander. Nick Jackson learned nothing and walked into a bodyslam from King onto Alexander. Omega volunteered himself to be bodyslammed onto Alexander. Bandido appeared to be next but slipped behind King on the initial attempt just so he could bodyslam King onto Alexander in an amazing feat of strength as the crowd went wild and Don Callis complained on commentary.
The match shifted when Matt and Nick started to get rolling. They disposed of King before turning their attention to Bandido. He went for a springboard, but the Bucks met him with superkicks. They followed with a tandem wheelbarrow stunner to take him out of the mix. Omega took out both Bucks by reversing their double team and was starting to feel it!
As Omega fed off the energy, he charged up for a dive but was cut off by Alexander. Omega fought him off to send him back outside, and as he went for a second attempt, the Bucks were waiting with superkicks to both sides of his head! Alexander saw an opportunity and hit Omega with a diving bodyblock to his back, making a sickening connection.
Brodido tried to get to Alexander but were taken out by the Bucks. Omega fell victim to a triple team back in the ring and Nick walked up the ropes to flip himself onto Brodido on the floor.
With Omega clearly favoring his midsection thanks to the targeted attack by Alexander, he struggled to get to his corner. The Bucks and Alexander continued to pick apart Omega, and he tried to withstand all the punishment he suffered. Omega was able to turn the Bucks’ double team into an overhead throw and King made the tag!
King planted Alexander with a sidewalk slam and nearly got the pinfall only for the Bucks to break it up. Bandido made a blind tag, and the champions went to work separating Matt and Nick. When Bandido turned his attention to Alexander, he was snatched and dropped with a bone-crunching back first slam on the apron. King took out Alexander with a cannonball but immediately ate a pair of kicks from the Bucks. Omega stopped them from doing any more damage when he flapjacked Nick onto Matt, who felt the brunt of it on his lower region.
Omega hit a picturesque dive to the outside and chased Callis away from the commentary desk. Back in the ring, Bandido couldn’t hit a 21 Plex on Nick, as he instead launched Bandido into the waiting arms of Alexander. When Matt tried to launch Nick up for the spike tombstone piledriver, King was instead waiting to catch him as Omega scooped up Matt. Bandido reversed Alexander, and all three hit piledrivers on the Bucks and Alexander. It was only enough for a two count.
We got back to Omega and Alexander, although this time it was Alexander controlling the action with a release German suplex. He hit another one on Bandido and got an assist from the Bucks with a pair of superkicks to hit a third on King. Omega was now left all alone with all three of his opponents, as he was ping-ponged around by kicks and strikes. It looked like Omega was done following a superkick into a double neutralizer, but he was able to kick out. However, Alexander was ready by picking the ankle for a submission. Brodido broke it up with a kick, but the Bucks got him out of the way and hit double superkicks on King.
The Bucks turned their attention back to Omega, but it was King who cut off a leaping Matt with a huge forearm. Omega hit a pair of snap dragons on the Bucks and went for another on Alexander, who was initially able to slip free only for Omega to drill hit with a leaping knee to the back. He followed with a kneel down powerbomb and a V-Trigger right on Alexander’s chin! Omega hit another V-Trigger while Alexander was lifeless on the ropes as King dove onto the Bucks on the outside and Bandido completed a 21 Plex on Alexander. With Alexander singled out in the ring, Omega dropped him with a One-Winged Angel for the pinfall and successful return!
After Brodido left the ring, Omega found himself in the ring with Matt and Nick, just as he was on the first episode of Dynamite – although back then, they were his teammates. Before anything else could develop, Alexander blindsided Omega with a kick, as the Bucks seemed conflicted and didn’t join in on the beatdown.
Jurassic Express decided this was the right time for their return to Dynamite and they made their way to the ring as the crowd happily serenaded them! Perry quickly put the Bucks down with a double DDT and much like at All Out, Luchasaurus put down Matt and Nick with a double chokeslam! Alexander got up to take a swing at Perry but wound up eating a jumping knee from Perry and a snap dragon from Omega. Omega immediately got in Perry’s face and the two got in a shoving match, as they have a long history. Before it could escalate any further, Perry dove past Omega to take out the Bucks Jurassic Express chased the Bucks to the back, but back in the ring Omega had a microphone with something to say!
“Six years. Yeah. It’s been six years, and I’ve been there since day one. I’ve seen the highest of the highs, and I’ve seen the lowest of the lows. But sometimes, it doesn’t matter how pleasant the journey is, because what you can take solace in, what you can take pride in, is the journey itself.”
Omega showed appreciation for the fans who have been there from the beginning or if they were just joining the ride. He shouted out the friends we made along the way and the ones we’ve lost, too. Omega said what matters is that we experience it all together.
“I am a better person because of it.”
As Omega completed his signature goodbye, the lights went out! When the lights came back on, a man completely covered by a mask was standing behind Omega. He revealed himself to be Andrade El Idolo and attacked Omega, finishing him off with a spinning butterfly suplex. Callis got in the ring and shook Andrade’s hand! Omega tried to get back to his feet, so Callis retreated, and Andrade hit one more kick to Omega’s head.
Six Years of Dynamite Moments
A lot has happened over the first six years of AEW Dynamite, so it was time to look back at some of those memorable moments. From debuts to returns to betrayals to countless amazing matches, and so much more, it’s hard to pack it all into a collection of highlights. And the good news is, there’s plenty more to come tonight and in AEW’s bright future!
Mark Briscoe Takes Some Time to Reflect
Mark Briscoe said it’s a time for celebration for AEW, but it’s also a time for reflection. He wants to personally reflect. He was obsessed with MJF, and at AEW All Out he handled that, for everything MJF did and everything he said about his brother. But MJF also said Briscoe couldn’t win the big one, and it was his fault Briscoe wasn’t fighting Kyle Fletcher for the TNT Championship. And then Hologram got hurt, so now Orange Cassidy gets his chance tonight. And when OC wins, Briscoe will be right there to celebrate with him.
“And MJF? You’ll be sitting on your couch licking your wounds and picking the tacks out of your ass! Happy anniversary.”
TNT Championship Match: “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher (c) def. Orange Cassidy
We were reminded by Excalibur of what this match was originally supposed to be, Title vs. Streak, with Fletcher defending against the undefeated Hologram. However, Fletcher attacked Hologram and took him out of action on Collision, which is why Orange Cassidy stepped up to take his place.
Fletcher seemed very prepared for Cassidy’s unorthodox offense and pace, using his power to his advantage to keep OC’s hands from anchoring in his pockets. Cassidy went to the outside, but Fletcher followed right after, so Cassidy went back in the ring only to be met with a forearm that was heard throughout the arena. Cassidy lured Fletcher to the outside and when he followed, OC quickly got back in the ring and hit a dive to the outside. Cassidy scaled the ropes, yet Fletcher was ready again, as he connected with a running kick to knock Cassidy all the way to the floor!
The TNT Champion tried to control the pace and wear down Cassidy, although it was hard to do too much with Cassidy rolling to the outside on multiple occasions. Fletcher tried to do his version of OC’s kicks, although it just seemed to fire Cassidy up. Fletcher finally had enough and just leveled Cassidy before mocking him by putting his hands in his pockets, so he could stomp away repeatedly. Cassidy reversed a lawn dart attempt and sprung back up to his feet. He unloaded with a barrage of kicks and spiked Fletcher with a DDT. Fletcher battled right back by catching OC off the top and dropping him with a Michinoku Driver, but it only got him a two count.
Fletcher tried to finish Cassidy off with his brainbuster, but it was reversed into a Stundog Millionaire. The two traded thrust kicks until Cassidy spiked Fletcher with consecutive DDTs. Fletcher avoided the Orange Punch and went for a powerbomb, but Cassidy reversed that into a pinning predicament with Fletcher getting out of it at two to muscle Cassidy into a spinning tombstone. Cassidy somehow kicked out, and Fletcher was beside himself!
A running boot right to Cassidy’s jaw was on target, leaving him open to Fletcher’s brainbuster, but a quick-thinking Cassidy turned that into a small package with Fletcher making a narrow escape. He caught OC with a thrust kick, but OC came back with one of his own. Cassidy thought he had some separation sitting on the top turnbuckle, but once again Fletcher was there to meet him with his rope-assisted kick to the head.
As the two jockeyed for position on the ropes, Cassidy knocked Fletcher to the mat with a headbutt. Sensing trouble, Don Callis jumped up on the apron with his shoe while Fletcher distracted referee Paul Turner. At the same time, Hologram, who was supposed to be out injured, made his way around the ring to stop Callis, only to turn around and trip Cassidy off the top rope! Why would he betray his Conglomeration teammate?!?!
That gave Fletcher the opening he needed to hit his brainbuster on the turnbuckle to put Cassidy down for the three count and his fourth successful defense of the TNT Championship!
CLON is Activated
Why would Hologram help Fletcher after he attacked him on Collision? As the two stood in the ring, Fletcher started putting the boots to Cassidy and Hologram joined in! That’s when Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong showed up to run them off.
As Fletcher and Hologram stood side by side on the ramp, Callis left and returned with the rest of The Family in an impressive display of talent and power. Who we thought was Hologram then threw off the blue and green ring jacket and mask and tore off his shirt to reveal he wasn’t Hologram after all. Instead, he was clad in red and black, apparently revealing himself to be "El Clon," seemingly the one that’s been sending ominously threatening messages for weeks. And as the arena flashed with red light, it appeared that El Clon aligned with Callis and the rest of the Family.
Mercedes Moné Has a TBS Title Match for Title Tuesday
Renee Paquette spoke with the TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, who in 16 days will be the longest-reigning TBS Champion of all time, but Renee reminded her that the last time they spoke, her goal was to become 10 Belts Moné. Moné agreed and said she wants to celebrate herself, and the 6th Anniversary of Dynamite, so next week in Jacksonville at AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday, she’s putting her TBS Championship on the line against someone from Florida because she wants to wrestle a local for her first time in Daily’s Place.
Renee brought up last week’s announcement of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships, and Moné said if anyone knows about being a tag team champion, it’s her, so she wants to know who will be her partner?
Mini-Moné became the latest to make her return, although she was quickly snatched by Mercedes, dragging Harley Cameron into view. Moné questioned why Cameron was there and why she seems to be friends with everyone. Then, Mercedes and Mini “argued” about their chemistry until Mercedes said when they team up, it’s Cameron who causes them to lose, so it’s a hard no. As the human version of Moné left, the puppet version told Renee, “I think she’s playing hard to get.”
Trios Match: “Hangman” Adam Page, Samoa Joe & Powerhouse Hobbs def. Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Daniel Garcia)
An angry and aggressive Samoa Joe started things for his team showing no mercy on Claudio Castagnoli in the early going, although he quickly found himself in the wrong corner. Castagnoli, Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia made quick tags to keep the pressure on Joe. He eventually got free and made the tag to the AEW World Champion, “Hangman” Adam Page!
Page was able to control Garcia, although Garcia certainly got his shots in on the champion. Hobbs came in next and went right to work on all the Death Riders, brutalizing Castagnoli and Moxley in the corner. Garcia only annoyed Hobbs with a shot to his back and a few forearms before Hobbs dropped him. Moxley knocked Hobbs to the outside and tried to take him out with a dive, but Hobbs caught it and pushed Moxley into the apron before dropping him across the hardest part of the ring three times!
Hobbs tried to slam Moxley from the top, but a well timed distraction by Garcia allowed Castagnoli to sneak in and powerbomb Hobbs from the corner. Now, it was Hobbs stuck in the Death Riders’ corner, as he desperately tried to fight out and make a much-needed tag. Hobbs tried to strike his way through Castagnoli, but Castagnoli cut him off with a gutwrench suplex with the pin attempt broken up by Joe. Hobbs pushed his way close enough to make Castagnoli break away to cheap-shot Hangman off the apron. He turned right into a Hobbs’ powerslam, as an angry Hangman jumped back on the apron to make the tag to Hobbs, although it certainly looked like Joe was trying to enter the match.
Hangman unloaded on Garcia, even stopping to springboard clothesline Castagnoli to the floor. Page turned his attention back to Garcia until Moxley tagged in and a rivalry was renewed! As flashes of the All In main event came flooding back, Hangman and Moxley started trading shots in the middle of the ring until Page grabbed Moxley for a Deadeye, but Castagnoli was able to tag back in for the save, pushing Page down so Moxley could hit a piledriver. Castagnoli immediately followed with a diving uppercut, but Page kicked out at two!
Hobbs came in with a spinebuster for Castagnoli and had Garcia in trouble once again, but the two went spilling over the top rope. In the ring, Mox hit Joe with a Paradigm Shift only to be flattened by a Buckshot Lariat from Page, who turned right into a pop-up uppercut from Castagnoli, but Page kicked out. Hangman got out of the Neutralizer to hit a Deadeye, softening Castagnoli up enough for the Buckshot Lariat to get the win.
Despite the win, Joe and Page got in an argument after the match when Page dropped one of the AEW World Trios Titles in an attempt to hand it to Joe. Hobbs tried to play peacemaker until security separated the two before anything happened. That is, until Joe started yelling at Page that he’s never beaten him, which angered Page, although that wasn’t enough for Joe, as he tried to get a shot in through the security. Whatever alliance these two had formed went up in smoke as security and Hobbs did everything they could to keep Page and Joe apart. Joe continued to yell at Page while Hobbs directed him to the back.
Kevin Knight Wants a Match with FTR
“The Jet” Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey were with Willow Nightingale reviewing their interaction with FTR and Big Stoke on last week’s Dynamite. Nightingale deferred to Knight to make the first challenge, as he called out either Cash Wheeler or Dax Harwood to face him on Collision. She said they had her back last week, so she’ll have theirs this week.
Elsewhere, Big Stoke was with FTR and said there’s no one on this planet that he hates more than Willow, but they have a special surprise for her in due time. He said Knight can have a match with either Dax or Cash, but he won’t find out who until they walk out. Top Guys, out.
Hangman Challenges Samoa Joe for WrestleDream
Renee Paquette caught up with AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page, who said after being on the air for six years, he doesn’t know if he’s ever been this confused.
He wasn’t sure if it was their belt exchange, but whatever bothered Joe angered him enough to remind Page that he’s never beaten him. Page said if it’s about the AEW World Championship, he knows part of the reason he has that title is because of Joe, so if he wants a shot at the title match, he can have one. Page will give him a few weeks to prepare because at WrestleDream, they’ll go one-on-one for the AEW World Championship.
“Samoa Joe, I look up to you. I respect you. You throw another fit like that at me, I’ll ruin your life.”
“Timeless” Toni Storm def. Tay Melo
The former AEW Women’s World Champion made her way to the ring in a white hat and trench coat, looking a bit out of sorts without her title. Storm was not in her typical gear, going for more of a suit and vest look, although that didn’t take away from her aggression. Melo caught Storm in a submission over the ropes, but Storm escaped and took Melo out on the apron. When it appeared Storm had control, Melo reversed her into the guardrail, and the two returned to the ring.
Melo did whatever she could to grind Storm down with strikes to the head and a slowed pace. Storm ate a pair of boots in the corner, but a third attempt by Melo was thwarted by Storm. The two traded strikes in the middle and Storm took Melo down with a DDT. She missed a running hip attack in the corner, but Melo couldn’t stop it a second time. With Melo dazed, Storm finished her off with a Storm Zero to get the win! And it was time for her to speak!
“Timeless” Toni Storm Wants Kris Statlander One-on-One
“At All Out, when the bell rang, I did not hear victory. I did not hear defeat. I heard … nothing. A silence so deep that it completely gobbled me up. I mean I stared at her because in that moment, she was everything I wasn’t – a glorious champion!”
Storm wondered who she was without the title, but said she’s not done with Kris Statlander!
“I need to know one-on-one. You name the time, you name the place, and I will be…”
She didn’t finish her normal line, but the lights lowered and the challenge remained.
Eddie Kingston vs. Dralístico Announced for Collision
Renee Paquette was with ROH World Tag Team Champion Sammy Guevara, who had plenty to say about Eddie Kingston, including their history, but hyped up his LFI teammate, Dralístico for his match with Kingston on Collision. Elsewhere, Kingston, alongside HOOK, responded by dismissing Guevara and telling Dralístico not to let him speak for him and that it’s his ass he’ll kick on Collision.
Samoa Joe Answers Hangman Page
Renee Paquette was with Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs to get Joe’s response to Hangman’s challenge for an AEW World Championship match at WrestleDream. Joe said maybe he’s been so preoccupied with the Death Riders, he forgot who he was.
“I am Samoa Joe, a man you have never beaten in the ring. I am Samoa Joe and on any day that you’ve ever existed, you have never been greater than me. Hangman, you damn right, you and me, this right here? This is Cowboy Shit. And unfortunately, you’re standing in front of Samoa Joe. And allow me to welcome you to a world of deep shit.”
It is official for WrestleDream on October 18, AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Samoa Joe!
GOA (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) def. The Swirl (Blake Christian and Lee Johnson)
We were reminded of how The Demand initially came together when Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun revealed their alliance with Ricochet when they took out Blake Christian back in July. Lee Johnson started things for his team, but had trouble dealing with the power of GOA. Christian got in the match and suffered a similar fate.
GOA decimated Christian for several minutes until he finally found enough space to make a tag to the fresh Johnson. He was able to fight both Liona and Kaun by sticking and moving, including a huge dive to the outside. Unfortunately, that flurry didn’t do enough to weaken GOA, as they double teamed Johnson back in the ring before finishing him with a double chokeslam for a win. Ricochet tossed Christian back in the ring to hit a Spirit Gun even though the match was already over.
The Hurt Syndicate appeared on the top of the ramp, quickly whipping the crowd into a frenzy. He admitted he embarrassed himself at All Out and apologized to Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin for losing to Ricochet. He admits he may have lost a step, but he can still fight. He doesn’t want to wrestle, he wants to fight. He challenges The Demand to a Street Fight next week in Jacksonville! Ricochet accepts and the fight is on!
Kris Statlander Will Face Toni Storm at WrestleDream
Renee Paquette was standing by with AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander before the Mixed Tornado Tag main event, but first, she asked about Toni Storm’s challenge. Statlander said in six years they’ve never faced one-on-one, so at WrestleDream they finally will and the AEW Women’s World Championship will be on the line! Harley Cameron came in with some encouraging words for Statlander before the main event.
Brodido vs. Okada and Takeshita at Title Tuesday!
Alicia Atout was with Don Callis, Konosuke Takeshita, and AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada. She asked Callis about the busy night, including adding two new members to the Don Callis Family. He said when you think they’re down and out, they take it to the next level. He wasn’t happy Brodido escaped earlier in the evening, so next week at Title Tuesday in Jacksonville, they’ll face Takeshita and Okada. Takeshita questioned the idea, but Okada confirmed it was happening. Callis tried to handle the tension by assuring the two it will be great.
Mixed Tornado Tag: AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander & Darby Allin def. Marina Shafir & Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders
Statlander and Allin did not wait to get things started, as they went right after Shafir and Yuta in the crowd during their entrance. Despite never teaming before, Statlander and Allin found quick chemistry with Allin holding their opponents for a big dive from the crowd from the champion!
The Death Riders weren’t down for long, as they fought their way back to the ringside area and took control. As Shafir punished Statlander on the floor, Yuta worked on Allin on the inside. As more and more chairs came into the ring, Yuta and Shafir toyed with their opponents. Statlander fought back alone with Allin down, but Shafir took her out with a spike on the apron. Shafir followed her out and while the two battled on the barricade, Statlander hit a suplex through the timekeeper’s table!
Back in the ring, Allin hit Yuta with a superplex into a pile of chairs, but it was only good for a two count. Yuta turned things around with a draping neckbreaker on the apron to Allin before bring a bag of tacks in the ring! Statlander returned with some shots on Yuta, although he dropped her soon after. She turned the tables with a suplex to Yuta on the chairs. Then, she put Shafir bare feet first on the tacks!
Yuta tried to throw powder at Allin, but missed and hit Shafir in the eyes. While blinded, she grabbed Yuta in a choke! Statlander took advantage with a 450 onto both from the top and Allin finished them off with a Coffin Drop for the win!
Storm appeared on the ramp to face off with Statlander and after the two exchanged smiles, they started throwing punches as security ushered them to the back.
Back in the ring, Allin was quickly outnumbered by the Death Riders, as he was choked with a chain by PAC. Moxley told Allin he didn’t know how he was going to do it, but he will make Darby say “I quit.”
PAC hit one more big shot on the lifeless Allin before the Death Riders made their exit to end the night.
