AEW Dynasty will be LIVE from Vancouver at Rogers Arena tonight on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on HBO Max pay-per-view!
This will be the third annual Dynasty and the first at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Dynasty 2026 will feature nine matches. Between Dynasty and AEW Zero Hour, eight championships will be up for grabs. Both AEW World Champion MJF and AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla will have their first Dynasty matches in defenses of their respective titles. As a fun fact, Adam Copeland, Jericho, Will Ospreay and FTR are the only wrestlers to have had a Dynasty match on each of the three annual events, including their scheduled matches on this year’s card.
Before the main card gets underway, AEW Zero Hour will feature three matches, including defenses of the AEW National Title and AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, airing an hour before Dynasty on HBO Max, YouTube, Amazon Prime, X, MyAEW and Facebook!
Check out the full AEW Dynasty preview below to find out how we arrived at each of these matches before it all goes down in Vancouver on Sunday night!
AEW Dynasty Match Card & Preview
AEW World Championship Match: “The Devil” MJF (c) vs. “The God of Professional Wrestling” Kenny Omega
Who should carry the mantle for AEW as the place where the best wrestle: Kenny Omega or MJF? Omega helped found the company after revolutionizing the sport with an unparalleled level of best bouts. The success carried over to AEW when Omega won the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley in December 2020. Omega’s reign of 346 days was the standard for years – that is, until MJF won his first AEW World Championship (also from Moxley, coincidentally enough) in November 2022. As MJF approached Omega’s record nearly a year later, Omega challenged MJF to put the AEW World Title on the line with just three days' notice in an effort to defend his record. MJF beat Omega in a 30-minute classic to become the longest reigning AEW World Champion, as he would go on to extend his reign all the way to 406 days. Meanwhile, Omega wrestled just four more matches after that before taking more than a year off to treat the diverticulitis he’d been battling while continuing to wrestle.
Omega returned to action at the beginning of 2025, and on the last day of the year, at New Year’s Smash, he declared his intentions to come for MJF and the AEW World Championship. Omega had no qualms about wrestling his way back into contention and even welcomed the competition, as he continued to round into top form. With a victory over Swerve Strickland last month, Omega preserved his EVP title and took the AEW World Title #1 Contendership. As if it weren’t evident enough by his current state, Omega is feeling better than ever and has made it clear that he is in far better form than the last time he and the current champion met. MJF believes he is the greatest professional wrestler in the world, though, no matter what pedestal the fans put Omega on, so if he has to beat Omega to prove his point, that’s what he plans to do at Dynasty.
Can Omega reach the mountaintop once more and prove why he’s “The God of Professional Wrestling,” or will everyone, including Omega, be forced to give “The Devil” his due if MJF walks out of Dynasty still AEW World Champion?
AEW Women’s World Championship Match: “The Toxic Spider” Thekla (c) vs. Jamie Hayter
On some level, this match has been in the making since Thekla debuted in AEW back in May 2025, when she attacked Hayter, putting her out of action for months. When Hayter returned, she set her sights on Thekla and eventually got revenge at WrestleDream 2025, when she handed The Toxic Spider her first pinfall loss in AEW. However, that wasn’t enough to deter Thekla from her devious thoughts of gold, and she became AEW Women’s World Champion when she beat Kris Statlander back in February on Dynamite.
Hayter and Thekla crossed paths recently in Trios action when Hayter won the match for her team and then called out Thekla for an AEW Women’s World Title match, citing her previous singles victory. Plus, Hayter comes into the match with the momentum of the Brawling Birds’ tag team victory over Thekla and Marina Shafir last night on Collision.
Will Hayter begin her second reign as AEW Women’s World Champion at Dynasty, or will the toxicity of Thekla keep the title within Triangle of Madness?
AEW Continental Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Will Ospreay
The passion for professional wrestling that burns inside Will Ospreay has been apparent for his entire career, but that’s especially true when it comes to both his words and actions in AEW. Jon Moxley and the Death Riders tried to extinguish that fire when they viciously attacked Ospreay by targeting his neck after the Lights Out Steel Cage at Forbidden Door 2025. Ospreay was forced to undergo major neck surgery and had a long road back to the ring. That road back was fueled by Moxley’s actions, especially since it threatened the livelihood of Ospreay and his family, who had to watch him go through it all.
Last month at Revolution, Moxley defeated Konosuke Takeshita to retain his AEW Continental Championship, only for Ospreay to make his shocking return to attack Moxley and the Death Riders. Ospreay has kept the heat on Moxley, and after attacking him last week on Collision, he got Moxley to put the Continental Title on the line. That means Ospreay won’t have to worry about the Death Riders at ringside, and he believes he can do a lot of damage in the 20-minute time limit.
After bringing in backup in the form of United Empire and then winning the Chaos in Canada 8-man tag on Dynamite by putting Moxley through a table with a Hidden Blade, Ospreay could be on a path to ultimate redemption at Dynasty. For only the second time anywhere, these two will meet one-on-one, though under very different circumstances from their first battle in NJPW back in 2022, which Moxley won. Now, Moxley has to deal with the ramifications of actions that he said weren’t even personal as these two men fight for the AEW Continental Championship – and much more.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) (c) with Big Stoke vs. Christian Cage and Adam Copeland
Personal animosity is rampant all over this card – but for some, the most precious thing you can threaten is their championship status. That’s exactly why Christian Cage and Adam Copeland want the AEW World Tag Team Titles from FTR.
Sure, they could make this match all about physical revenge for FTR taking out Beth Copeland with a spike piledriver after Cage and Cope beat them at All Out last year. Instead, Cage and Cope decided they wanted to hit FTR where it hurts. So when Cage and Cope returned last month at Revolution to attack FTR, they also made it clear they wanted to take the AEW World Tag Team Championship. That’s because Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler make a point to say how they are the greatest tag team of any generation every time they have the chance and always point to their accolades, including three reigns as the AEW World Tag Team Champions. Take that standing away from FTR, and you take away everything.
Tonight, it’s a battle for legacy. It’s a battle for revenge. And it’s a battle for the gold.
AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Dogs (“War Ready” Gabe Kidd, David Finlay and “100 Proof” Clark Connors) (c) vs. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong) and ???
Last night on Collision, The Dogs won the AEW World Trios Championships from JetSpeed and Místico! They were immediately interrupted by Strong and Cassidy from backstage. Strong sent congratulations, but reminded The Dogs that after they attacked Strong and Cassidy on Dynamite, things weren’t over between them. Strong acknowledged they were outnumbered, but said Cassidy was securing a third man to make the sides even, and told The Dogs to meet them at Dynasty! Who will join Strong and Cassidy to take up the fight?
Casino Gauntlet for the Vacant TNT Championship
Earlier this week, we learned “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher had to vacate the TNT Title due to injury, so Tony Khan decided a Casino Gauntlet would be held at Dynasty to crown a new TNT Champion.
On Dynamite, “Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa defeated Máscara Dorada to earn the #1 spot in the Casino Gauntlet. And with RUSH’s victory over Anthony Bowens last night on Collision, he’ll begin the match with Ciampa as entrant #2. The match could end at any time, and participants will enter at various intervals.
Will Ciampa find his way back to “Silvey” and become a two-time TNT Champion? Could RUSH win his first AEW gold? And who else might enter this fight for the TNT Championship?
Don Callis Family (AEW International Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada and NJPW World TV Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita) vs. Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
Injuries are part of the pro wrestling business. Don Callis knows that, which is why he was able to pivot away from his previous Dynasty plans and shift to new ones, although he may have made a bigger problem in the end.
Callis wanted AEW International Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada to team with TNT Champion “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher to form ProtOkada and face the Young Bucks. With Fletcher’s injury, Callis made the call to keep a match against the Bucks on – but he inserted NJPW World TV Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita into Fletcher’s spot to team with Okada. Takeshita protested the idea, saying he doesn’t want to team with Okada; he wants to fight him for what he called “his belt,” the AEW International Championship. Callis agreed to let them fight at Double or Nothing next month if they teamed against Matt and Nick Jackson at Dynasty. The Bucks are coming off a victory over El Clon and CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechicero of the Callis Family on Collision.
On paper, this is a dream match. This tag team tussle features four of the greatest wrestlers in the world, and there’s plenty of history between the sides. However, while the Bucks are trying to fight their way back into AEW World Tag Team Championship contention, Okada and Takeshita are more interested in facing each other than tagging together, as has been evident in previous iterations of the team. So who will come out victorious on Sunday night?
Andrade El Ídolo vs. Darby Allin (If Allin Wins, He Gets an AEW World Title Shot)
Since the start of 2026, Darby Allin has made it clear he wants to be the AEW World Champion. After putting the Death Riders and then Gabe Kidd and The Dogs behind him last month, Allin brought his intentions to be AEW World Champion forward and called out MJF. In an attempt to protect the AEW World Title, MJF cut a deal with the Don Callis Family to handle Allin, although neither Andrade El Ídolo nor Kyle Fletcher were on board and have made that clear.
Still, two weeks ago on Dynamite, Callis announced that if Allin could beat a hand-picked member of the Callis Family, then he’d get a shot at MJF and the AEW World Title. Callis revealed that Allin would face Andrade at Dynasty for that chance, which seemed to surprise Andrade, as he’s had his own designs on winning the AEW World Championship. Allin has since received assurance from Kenny Omega that he would honor Allin’s AEW World Title shot if both are victorious at Dynasty, as well.
So now, an old rivalry is rekindled in the shadow of the AEW World Championship. Both men have singles victories over the other, but those matches took place four years ago under very different circumstances. Will Allin take one major step closer to the AEW World Title? Or will Andrade notch another impressive victory and point himself in the direction of the AEW World Champion?
Jericho vs. Ricochet
The last time we saw Jericho wrestle was last year at Dynasty, but after an unexpected return to AEW last week on Dynamite in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, most immediately wondered when we would see him in the ring again. Then, this past Wednesday on Dynamite, Jericho explained that he was back because he loves professional wrestling and was ready to sign his new AEW contract.
Before he could do that, The Demand interrupted, and Ricochet ran down Jericho while backed up by Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun, telling Jericho to leave. Jericho revealed he had a special clause in his new contract that allowed him to pick any opponent he wanted for Dynasty, then told Ricochet he made the list and signed the deal to make the match official! So in Vancouver, Jericho returns to action for the first time in more than a year against a man he has never faced, Ricochet.
AEW Zero Hour: Alex Windsor vs. Marina Shafir
Windsor and Shafir have been pulled into the issues that reignited when Will Ospreay returned at Revolution to attack Jon Moxley and the Death Riders in revenge for taking him out. Since then, Ospreay requested and received backup from United Empire and Windsor, his fiancée. Windsor and Shafir brawled at the beginning and end of Dynamite this week and then met again in a tag team match that saw Windsor and Jamie Hayter, the Brawling Birds, beat Shafir and AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla on Collision last night. These two hard-hitters are back at it again tonight on Zero Hour!
AEW Zero Hour: AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship: Divine Dominion (“Megasus” Megan Bayne & “Colossal” Lena Kross) (c) vs. Hyan & Maya World
Last night on Collision, we learned that Hyan and Maya World have declared they are coming for the top of the AEW women’s division, challenging Divine Dominion for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship at Zero Hour! Bayne and Kross have been unstoppable as a duo, but Hyan and World have shown they are opportunists. It’ll be an uphill battle for Hyan and World, but they are riding a three-match win streak as a team in Ring of Honor coming into this title shot, including a win over The IInspiration this past week on a special edition of ROH. Can they pull the upset over the towering Divine Dominion?
AEW Zero Hour: AEW National Championship: “Jungle” Jack Perry (c) vs. Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family
Perry has found himself mixing things up with the Don Callis Family after backing up Darby Allin, which means he’s had to deal with the mass of humanity that is Mark Davis. The bruiser of the Callis Family hasn’t made things easy for Allin in his quest to get to the AEW World Title, and if Perry isn’t careful, he’ll be a former National Champion by the time this match is over. In his first defense since winning the AEW National Title last month at Revolution, Perry will try to cut Davis down to size in Vancouver!
