AEW Rampage Preview for July 26, 2024

DYNAMITE: BLOOD & GUTS 2024 was every bit the violent spectacle presented in previous years and then some. With TNT Champion Jack Perry on the verge of being torched by Darby Allin, Matthew Jackson acquiesced to Darby's desire for a TNT Title fight at ALL IN: LONDON 2024 and said “I Quit” to bring the fight to its conclusion. Team AEW celebrated, The Elite mourned, and while the repercussions from the caged fight remain to be seen, All Elite Wrestling continues ever-forward towards Wembley Stadium in one month's time. Those first steps forward from Blood & Guts take place tonight on RAMPAGE where a piece will be placed on the post-ALL IN: LONDON 2024 chessboard with the return of the Royal Rampage Battle Royale!

One man will earn an AEW World Championship bout at GRAND SLAM 2024 on September 25th, a site that has seen some of the biggest bouts in AEW's existence over the last several years, but they will have to wait to see just who will stand across the ring as World Champion. Yet that's not all taking place tonight in Nashville; Kris Statlander will be in action following her assault on CMLL World Women's Champion Willow Nightingale, “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer is back in singles competition, and four teams will clash in a tag team affair, including RUSH in his first fight as a member of The Don Callis Family!

The action begins at 10pm ET/9pm CT on TNT so make a point to drop by the official AEW YouTube channel beforehand to watch highlights from DYNAMITE: BLOOD & GUTS 2024, as well as previous episodes of RAMPAGE and COLLISION, plus Jimmy Jacobs on HEY (EW)!, the extended conversation with Bryan Danielson, and more! Then join us in Arlington, TX at the Esports Stadium for COLLISION & BATTLE OF THE BELTS XI on Saturday, then a day stacked with Ring of Honor action (www.rohtix.com) on Sunday. It's all about ALL IN: LONDON 2024 and who will make the voyage to Wembley Stadium on August 25th!

ROYAL RAMPAGE RETURNS!

***WINNER EARNS AEW WORLD TITLE BOUT AT GRAND SLAM 2024***

The tradition began two years ago in the shadow of the 2022 edition of Blood & Guts, as part of AEW's first-time venture to Detroit's Little Caesar's Arena, and that first-ever Royal Rampage culminated in Brody King earning an AEW World Title match with then-champion Jon Moxley. The House of Black member was not successful in this championship endeavor, but proved himself an utterly dominating force during the Royal Rampage that earned him the shot.

In 2023, from the TD Garden in Boston, the Royal Rampage returned only this time with a TNT Championship opportunity on the line. Many competitors from the first battle royale entered into the fray once again, and it was one those individuals who managed to get the victory and earn his shot at then-TNT Champion Luchasaurus. Unfortunately, just like his predecessor in 2022, Darby Allin was unable to dethrone the defending champion when he finally cashed in his opportunity at ALL OUT 2022.

Will the third-time be the charm? We will find out tonight on RAMPAGE when the Royal Rampage returns, and this time the prize that awaits the sole survivor is an AEW World Championship match on September 25th at GRAND SLAM 2024! AEW's yearly excursion to the Arthur Ashe Stadium has proven one of our biggest events, with bouts like Omega/Danielson, Moxley/Danielson, and Kingston/Castagnoli showcased, meaning the winner of the 2024 Royal Rampage will have a great many eyeballs watching to see if he can dethrone the AEW World Champion, whoever that may be come September 25th!

FOUR-WAY TAG BOUT..

The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher & RUSH) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) vs. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) & The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent)

Tonight on RAMPAGE, with “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher as his partner, “El Toro Blanco” RUSH will enter into the squared circle as a member of The Don Callis Family to take part in this Four Way Tag! It's taken weeks of courting by Callis to convince the former 2-Time ROH World Champion to join the DCF fold, but it clearly paid off as one of the most sadistic individuals in professional wrestling is now on his team!

What will this mean for the rest of the All Elite Wrestling competitors? We will find out soon enough when the bell rings for this Four Way tag team fight! RUSH and Isiah Kassidy are no strangers, two months ago they went head-to-head on RAMPAGE and Zay gave “El Toro Blanco” quite the unexpected fight before ultimately falling, not to forget the brief period of time that Private Party and Rush were working on the same page. The Outrunners and The Righteous are certainly the outliers in this bout; all four individuals are quite chaotic in their approach to the fight, though in quite different ways. The Outrunners are all energy and adrenaline, hitting the ring like they were fired out of a cannon and perpetually in motion even when waiting for a tag. Conversely The Righteous are slow and deliberate in their approach, though their behavior borders on maniacal despite the illusion of calm control that Vincent projects in his words and in their entrance.

This is quite the intriguing mash-up of styles when it comes to tag team wrestling, so will we see the newest member of The DCF earn his keep from day one or will one of the other three teams involved steal away with the victory?

ONE-ON-ONE...

Kris Statlander vs. Leila Grey

After that attack perpetrated on Willow Nightingale, it's a reasonable bet that Kris Statlander will get her desired CMLL World Women's Championship Eliminator Match with the champion sooner than later. To keep herself ready for the fight, Kris Statlander will be in action tonight on RAMPAGE, welcoming a familiar face back to All Elite Wrestling after an eight-month absence!

November 1, 2023 was the last time Leila Grey stepped foot in an AEW ring, and though she competed in a trio of ROH matches earlier in the year, most of her 2024 has been spent honing her craft in Ohio Valley Wrestling, including winning their Women's Championship back in February, a title she has now held for 167 days. This match tonight is a huge opportunity for Leila Grey to show the world how far she's come since November, but it's also one for Kris Statlander to exert her will and dominate. Will this merely be another warning shot fired at Willow Nightingale, or can Leila Grey upset the former TBS Champion?
