AEW Rampage Preview For March 3, 2023

Wednesday night made for an unpredictable final DYNAMITE before REVOLUTION 2023, a night where Powerhouse Hobbs earned a future TNT Championship match with his Face of the Revolution Latter Match win, where the unanticipated duo of Danhausen and Orange Cassidy earned a spot in Sunday night's World Tag Team Championship Four Way, and The Elite were laid low by The House of Black. Plus, Bryan Danielson had the final word over MJF heading into their World Championship Iron Man outing and HOOK tapped Matt Hardy in their FTW Championship match.

On Friday night, the Cow Palace will be alive with the sounds of violence once more when RAMPAGE goes live on TNT at 10pm ET/9pm CT! With REVOLUTION 2023 just two days away, this is the final opportunity for some individuals to get a last minute edge prior to that PPV extravaganza, and a chance for others to settle some scores. On top of that, the ROAD TO REVOLUTION 2023 special will air immediately following the conclusion of RAMPAGE!

Prior to RAMPAGE getting underway at 10pm ET, be sure to visit the official AEW YouTube channel to get prepare for the night courtesy of DYNAMITE highlights, as well as watching the most recent editions of AEW DARK: ELEVATION, AEW DARK, and ROAD TO..., as well as the CONTROL CENTER with Tony Schiavone!

TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH...

Naturally Limitless (Dustin Rhodes & Keith Lee) vs.

Mogul Affiliates (Parker Boudreaux & Swerve Strickland)

At one point Swerve Strickland was a boon to the AEW career of Keith Lee, together they became AEW World Tag Team Champions and reigned as such for 70 days, successfully defending them on three occasions before The Acclaimed ended the run at GRAND SLAM 2022. Sure there were problems between the two men, different methods in how each approached the sport of professional wrestling, but it seemed like they were adults capable of working through their differences to the benefit of one another. Instead, Strickland made the choice to become the bane of Kieth Lee's existence, using a cinder block as the tool to express the dissolution of their partnership, as well as the assistance of Parker Boudreaux and Trench to drill home the separation.

As for Dustin Rhodes, Swerve and his Mogul Affiliates made “The Natural” a target several weeks ago, but the rivalry truly heated up on the February 17th edition of RAMPAGE when Swerve lost to Rhodes via DQ. What caused the disqualification one may ask? Referee Aubrey Edwards was forced to call for the rare DQ after Boudreaux pulled Rhodes out of the ring when victory was in his grasp, and assaulted the legendary competitor. The relentless assault that continued following the disqualification would lead to Keith Lee making his return to the fold, saving Rhodes from Swerve dropping a double stomp on the prone Dustin as his head was placed atop another cinder block by Parker.

This Friday night on RAMPAGE, the duo that have dubbed themselves Naturally Limitless will get their chance at vengeance against Mogul Affiliates! Neither of these teams have been paired up before, but each unit is on the same page. Lee and Rhodes want revenge, Swerve and Parker just want to put them in their rear view. On a night where tag team wrestling is getting a big spotlight, which of these two duos will step to the forefront and score the victory?

FOUR WAY TAG...

Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) vs.

The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) vs.

The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & John Silver) vs.

Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis)

All four of these teams participated in Wednesday night's Casino Tag Team Royale and while each had the opportunity to become the fourth team in the REVOLUTION 2023 World Tag Team Championship Four Way, none punched their ticket to the pay-per-view.

The Dark Order were eliminated by The Blackpool Combat Club, and they in turn would cause a distraction that led to Wheeler and Claudio being eliminated from the bout by OC and Danhausen, but prior to that, the pair of ROH champions eliminated Aussie Open from the fray. As for Fletcher and Davis, they would end up eliminated by The BCC but not before they eliminated Top Flight from the equation.

Suffice to say, there are a whole lot of tensions to be worked out between these four teams as a result of the Casino Battle Royale outcome, not to mention the issues that clearly exist between The BCC and Dark Order stemming from their affiliations with Jon Moxley and Hangman Page. So with the championship bid out of the picture, these eight men are now fighting for bragging rights and perhaps a bit of redemption for Wednesday. It will undoubtedly be a chaotic scenario on Friday night, the kind of beautiful chaos that only professional wrestling can produce!

Before the night gets started on TNT at 10pm ET/9pm CT head over to the official AEW YouTube channel to get up to date on DYNAMITE highlights, as well as the latest episodes of AEW DARK: ELEVATION, AEW DARK, and the CONTROL CENTER with Tony Schiavone!
