Biography:

Wayne Gretzky should be honored.

Shortly after her 2020 inclusion in Dark Order, Anna Jay was bestowed the “No. 99” nickname by faction leader Mr. Brodie Lee. A rabid NHL fan, Brodie wanted to pay homage to “The Great One.” The fact he chose Anna to represent what that jersey number meant also shows how much faith Brodie had that she would blaze her own trail to greatness.

Anna hasn’t let him down.

She has blossomed from a pro wrestling newbie who had only wrestled a handful of matches before signing with AEW in 2020 to one of the sport’s top competitors. Anna was blessed to have Brodie as a mentor before his passing, but he isn’t the only one who has helped in her development. Initially trained by respected veterans Glacier and QT Marshall, Anna later benefited from Chris Jericho’s tutelage when joining the Jericho Appreciation society.

Anna also helped elevate herself with knowledge gleaned through a 2024 tour with the renowned Japanese women’s wrestling promotion Stardom.

Using two impressive finishing moves in the Queenslayer & Gory Bomb, Anna ranks in the Top 10 for all-time victories in the AEW women’s division. Anna also forms one of AEW’s top women’s tag teams with Tay Melo as TayJay (pronounced Tie-Jay).

The only thing that has eluded Anna in AEW thus far is championship gold. But it seems like only a matter of time before the Brunswick, Georgia native accomplishes that goal as well.
