AEW Collision Preview: August 23, 2025 — Young Bucks, Don Callis Family in Action, More
We are back in Glasgow, Scotland for AEW Collision from the OVO Hydro at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on TNT and streaming on HBO Max!
On the final AEW Collision before Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, the Young Bucks will face off against Paragon. It’ll also be a busy night for the Don Callis Family as Konosuke Takeshita takes on Tomohiro Ishii, while Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Hechicero, and Rocky Romero battle Hiromu Takahashi and SkyFlight.
Plus, we’ll see the first international Max Caster Open Challenge, Queen Aminata and Willow Nightingale teaming up to face Skye Blue and Julia Hart of Triangle of Madness, Megan Bayne looking to continue her dominance in the AEW debut of Scotland’s own Isla Dawn, Big Bill in action, and GOA facing the Grizzled Young Veterans.
Here’s your complete AEW Collision preview for August 23, 2025.
AEW Collision Matches, Preview for Saturday, August 23
Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong)
An old feud gets renewed when Matt and Nick Jackson take on Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong of Paragon. This match came about as a result of Paragon coming to the aid of Will Ospreay after he was blindsided by a pair of superkicks from the Bucks on this week’s Dynamite.
Can the Bucks carry some momentum into their Lights Out Steel Cage Match at AEW Forbidden Door, or can Paragon throw Matt and Nick off their game?
Konosuke Takeshita vs. Tomohiro Ishii
There is no rest for the weary, as “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita is right back in action after winning the 2025 G1 Climax earlier this week in NJPW.
Takeshita will get a big test from his rival, “The Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii, in a rematch of their amazing match from this year’s Wrestle Dynasty event. Needless to say, this should be a hard-hitting affair. Will Ishii find a way to stop the run Takeshita is on this month?
8-Man Tag: Hiromu Takahashi & SkyFlight (Scorpio Sky, Dante Martin and Darius Martin) vs. The Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Hechicero and Rocky Romero)
Speaking of the Don Callis Family, it will be “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Hechicero, and Rocky Romero answering last week’s challenge from SkyFlight, who will have Hiromu Takahashi on their side.
While SkyFlight look to launch themselves to greater heights, it’s also a big night for their partner, as Takahashi is looking to get his second win of the week against the Don Callis Family before he challenges “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher for the TNT Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday.
Triangle of Madness’ Skye Blue & Julia Hart vs Queen Aminata & Willow Nightingale
For weeks, Queen Aminata and Willow Nightingale have been doing anything and everything they can to fight off the unrelenting onslaught from Triangle of Madness. They’ll come together as a tag team to collide with Skye Blue and Julia Hart on Saturday night. Will “The Toxic Spider” Thekla play a role in this one? And if so, will Aminata and Nightingale be prepared with a few tricks of their own?
First International Max Caster Open Challenge
The Open Challenge from the Best Wrestler Alive™ heads overseas for the very first time! Caster’s challenge has been answered by international superstars like RUSH and AEW World Trios Champion Katsuyori Shibata in recent weeks; how will Caster fare on international soil himself when he puts five minutes on the clock in Glasgow?
Megan Bayne vs. Isla Dawn
The dominance of “The Megasus” Megan Bayne has been on full display on AEW Collision, as she currently sits at a perfect 9-0 record in singles competition on the program. While Bayne and Penelope Ford have proven to be a formidable combo, they’ll be dealing with a biased crowd when Bayne faces off against Scotland’s own Isla Dawn, making her AEW debut!
Big Bill in Action
With the Bang Bang Gang still in his crosshairs, Big Bill is too much man to come to Scotland without finding a fight. He’s looking for one and will be in action at the OVO Hydro.
GOA (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson)
After helping MJF change the complexion of the AEW World Championship match at Forbidden Door this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, when they and Ricochet helped take Mark Briscoe hostage to give MJF the leverage he needed to secure three stipulations from Hangman, GOA gets back in the ring on Saturday night to take on Zack Gibson and James Drake, the Grizzled Young Veterans.
