It goes down tonight on COLLISION beginning at 8pm ET/7pm CT on TNT, and it features a huge #1 Contender Match as FTR and The Acclaimed meet in combat to determine who faces The Young Bucks at ALL IN: LONDON 2024 with the AEW World Tag Team Titles at stake! AEW WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE NUMBER 1 CONTENDER MATCH...
2-Time Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs.
1-Time Champion The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster)
FTR and The Acclaimed have been at odds for the last several weeks, ever since Anthony Bowens and Max Caster first stepped up to take part in the Blood & Guts Cage. Initially they had to deal with not only their mentor Billy Gunn questioning their toughness, but also Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler who desperately wanted, but were physically unable, to stand up for AEW in that match.
It's funny how the exact same message can be received completely different depending on the source; coming from Daddy Ass it's a motivational speech pushing the former World Tag and Trios Champions past their limitations and into a mindset where they found themselves capable of the violence that is part and parcel of B&G, but coming from FTR it was insulting, degrading even, especially considering the fact that twenty months ago The Acclaimed successfully defended the AEW World Tag Championship against FTR on a DYNAMITE that emanated from Cedar Park, TX. Within Blood & Guts, The Acclaimed (especially Anthony Bowens) proved just how tough and violent they can get, and after FTR inadvertently cost them their World Tag Team bout on Wednesday night, they're ready to show Cash and Dax that same level of violence as well!
That's why tonight, 190 miles from the site of their only other tag team clash, these two championship-caliber teams will collide with a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles hanging in the balance! Both FTR and The Acclaimed have plenty of reasons to want their hands around the necks of The Young Bucks, but they've also got enough fuel for the fires raging between them as well. Unfortunately, as Mark Briscoe previously put it when it fell on him to quell the animosity between FTR and The Acclaimed, all this strife plays right into the hands of The EVPs. It leaves both teams worn down while the brothers Jackson had done a whole lot of nothing between Blood & Guts and Wednesday night, not even bothering to show their faces on TV after Team AEW handed them a loss inside the cage, and manipulating the situation on DYNAMITE to escape with their belts intact.
Rest assured, they will be watching this match from afar with smiles on their faces, knowing that FTR and The Acclaimed will tear each other apart for a shot at the belts they're holding, and all they have to do is pick up the pieces at Wembley Stadium eight days later. The only question is if it will be a rematch of ALL IN: LONDON 2023, one of this past Wednesday night on DYNAMITE, or if the two teams will tear each other apart leaving no one for The Young Bucks to fight at ALL IN: LONDON 2024?
ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH...
Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett)(c) vs. ROH World Six-Man Champion Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara
Sammy Guevara returned to the professional wrestling stage several weeks ago during an episode of HONOR CLUB when he saved long-time rival Dustin Rhodes from an assault perpetrated by Dark Order. That night Alex Reynolds, John Silver, and Evil Uno waited until The Von Erichs had left the building, leaving “The Natural” quite alone, before they perpetrated their assault. Suffice to say it was a shock to both fans and Dustin himself to see Guevara return to assist someone he'd been enemies with essentially since the launch of All Elite Wrestling, yet the following night he'd extend his hand to both Rhodes and The Von Erichs.
As surprising as it was that this was occurring at all, it was perhaps even more of a surprise that Dustin not only accepted the gesture, but also teamed up with Sammy on HONOR CLUB to defeat Reynolds and Silver in tag team action. The two men who'd been such staunch enemies actually ended up making quite the solid tag team unit, and that has brought us to tonight contest where the two Texans will tangle with the boys from New England in a ROH World Tag Team Championship match!
Dustin laid out the challenge a couple weeks back, and the match will be going down tonight in Arlington! Can Rhodes repeat the success with Sammy that he had with Marshall and Ross at BATTLE OF THE BELTS XI, and this week's edition of ROH ON HONOR CLUB where they defeated Cage of Agony?
ONE-ON-ONE...
Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D vs. Harley Cameron
After standing at Saraya's side on Friday night, listening to what she had to say, screeching in her ear to show support, and ultimately learning alongside her about Toni Storm's challenge, Harley Cameron has decided to be proactive about her own future and maybe find a way to her own future title opportunity. See Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D has a huge match of her own set for ALL IN: LONDON 2024, a TBS Title fight with Mercedes Moné, and if Harley Cameron can defeat Baker tonight on COLLISION, she would be in a prime position to challenge the Good Doctor post-Wembley should she take the title from Moné's possession.
Baker is as ready for the fight as she's ever been, and for her this bout with Harley Cameron is simply a means to show the TBS Champion what's in store for her in eight days time. Will it be the top contender for the TBS Championship that walks out of Arlington with her hand raised, or will this ever-unpredictable Outcast find a way to upset the AEW apple cart and possibly become a contender herself?
“THE MAD KING” SPEAKS FROM HIS CHEST...
We haven't heard from original Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston since he was injured by Gabe Kidd in their NJPW STRONG Openweight Title fight en route to losing the championship, and then assaulted by The Young Bucks following the match at NJPW STRONG's RESURGENCE 2024 event back on May 11th. We know it began with a fractured tibia, and that he ended up having surgery to repair a torn ACL and meniscus after the fracture healed, but what we haven't heard is Kingston's thoughts regarding everything that has happened in his absence. That changes tonight on COLLISION when “The Mad King” Eddie Kingston gives us his thoughts on ALL IN: LONDON 2024 just eight days away from AEW's biggest pay-per-view event of year! Never one to mince words, the men and women of All Elite Wrestling better brace themselves for what Kingston has to say...
A NEW TONI STORM PRODUCTION...
Last night on RAMPAGE, AEW Women's World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm offered her former Outcasts partner Saraya the opportunity of a lifetime when DYNAMITE comes to Cardiff on Wednesday night, an AEW Women's World Championship fight! Just days before ALL IN: LONDON 2024, Saraya has the opportunity to get the two things she'd hoped to achieve as AEW's return to Wembley drew closer: the title and a spot at ALL IN: LONDON 2024. On Wednesday night we will see if “The Unproblematic Icon” can achieve her goals, but tonight on COLLISION, it's all about “Timeless” Toni Storm and her brand new film set to premiere live during the broadcast! Will this be a look at the fight with her former friend Saraya, or one at the tumultuous relationship with Mariah May as the two are scheduled to fight in eight days time?
ALSO IN ACTION:-TNT Champion “Scapegoat” Jack Perry
