AEW WrestleDream

AEW WrestleDream was live on HBO Max PPV from Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, the first WrestleDream in Florida, which also became home to AEW’s first Clockwork Carnage! That main event saw AEW World Champion Will Ospreay retain his championship in an environment that was even more chaotic than anyone expected, with such a loaded field.

Ospreay had to fight off a late comeback from Adam Copeland to level The Rated-R Superstar with a Hidden Blade and pin him right before time expired. That gave Ospreay 3 points to break a 4-way tie with Copeland, Samoa Joe and Darby Allin and the victory to retain the AEW World Championship!

Plus, AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné survived the toxicity of Thekla to keep her title thanks to some help from her protective mask. We learned that the newest member of AEW is Ilja Dragunov, and Dragunov’s trademark intensity was on full display as he soaked in the huge ovation from the crowd!

We also have new AEW World Trios Champions in “Hangman” Adam Page, Bandido and Brody King after they beat Swerve Strickland and The New Level 2-1 in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match! AEW World Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks took advantage of some miscommunication to keep their titles from “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher and “The Jet” Kevin Knight!

AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley looked down and out against challenger Mark Davis, but he fought through a nasty cut over his eye to beat Davis by submission and keep his championship. AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo also kept his reign alive by turning away Tommaso Ciampa.

All that and so much more went down at WrestleDream!

AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl: Divine Dominion ("Colossal" Lena Kross and "Megasus" Megan Bayne) def. Artist of STARDOM Champions Triangle of Madness' Sisters of Sin (Skye Blue and Julia Hart)

These two sides have been allies in the past, but with both teams trying to get into AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship contention, the intensity was there from the jump. Kross quickly went after Hart, looking for revenge after Hart blinded her with the Black Mist on Dynamite, the remnants of which remained on Kross’ face. Hart frustrated Kross by staying away from her until she turned Kross over with a headscissors. Blue tagged in and rolled up Kross for a one-count, only for Kross to get back up to drop Blue with a thrust kick. Bayne tagged in and worked Blue over in the corner until Blue escaped her grasp and hit a headscissors from the second rope. Blue hit a handspring elbow in the corner and adjusted her strategy for a rising knee against the ropes. Bayne avoided a DDT and caught Blue’s crossbody attempt, but Blue swung around for a near-fall!

Blue got sent to the DD corner and initially fought off both Bayne and Kross, but a big kick to Kross left Blue open for Bayne to pull her from the apron back into the ring with a back suplex! What power from Bayne! Divine Dominion remained in control of Blue with constant punishment in their corner. Bayne let Blue get close to a tag, only to knock Hart off the apron. Blue hit a desperation DDT and tagged Hart as Bayne tagged Kross. Hart lit up Kross with chops and tried a jumping clothesline followed by a pair of Sole Foods to send Kross to the corner. She caught Bayne with the same move and a thrust kick to knock her from the ring. Kross was taken over by Hart with a ropewalk arm drag. Hart tried to pin Kross with a crucifix, but she managed to kick out.

Blue made a blind tag as Kross was sent to the apron. Kross blasted Hart with a forearm, but as she tried to get back in the ring, Blue spiked her head into the mat with a running headscissors! Sisters of Sin hit a double front suplex and a pair of thrust kicks. Blue covered Kross, so Bayne went to break it up and wound up hitting Kross instead! Bayne ran Hart and Blue into each other before dumping both with a German Suplex! Kross and Bayne worked over Hart and Blue in the corners until Hart and Blue reversed in the middle with thrust kicks, only for Divine Dominion to lay them out with flying clotheslines. Bayne and Blue fought on the ropes until Blue trapped Bayne’s head in the buckles for a thrust kick! Blue powerbombed Bayne out of the corner and tagged Hart. Kross threw Blue out of the ring as Hart tried a moonsault from the top, which saw her land on her feet and into the waiting grasp of Kross. Bayne blasted Hart with a thrust kick into a German Suplex from Kross! Bayne covered, but Blue got in to make the save!

With Blue and Bayne trading shots, Kross made a blind tag as Bayne lifted Blue for a front suplex. Kross followed with a driving knee strike and sent Blue to the floor. Hart tried to kick off of Bayne for a DDT on Kross, but Kross blocked it, and Divine Dominion hit From Heaven to Hell for the pinfall victory!

AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl: Don Callis Family's Wardlow, Josh Alexander & Jake Doyle def. Alex Breeze, Papi D & Rhys Maddox

Breeze, D and Maddox tried to attack Alexander at the bell, so he dumped Breeze with a German Suplex and threw D to the floor for a shoulder block from Doyle. Breeze was dumped to the outside into an uppercut from Doyle, who continued in the ring for a huge gut check on Maddox. Alexander dropped Maddox with a front slam on the apron as he jumped to the floor! Ouch! Alexander returned to the ring and crushed Maddox with a diving crossbody that put Maddox in a heap on the floor. Alexander threw Maddox back in, so Maddox tried to get away and then threw some weak shots until Wardlow reared back and devastated Maddox with a lariat. Wardlow dropped the straps and called for the Powerbomb Symphony! He dropped Maddox for the first powerbomb, and the crowd called for another. Breeze was thrown back in, so Wardlow powerbombed him! D was the last to face Wardlow, and he felt the Symphony with a pair of powerbombs. The Callis Family simply put their boots on the demolished opponents for the dominant trios victory!

AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl: The Dogs' Clark Connors and David Finlay & Death Riders' Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta and Gabe Kidd (w/ Marina Shafir) def. The Conglomeration's Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong (w/ Willow Nightingale) & Bang Bang Gang's "Switchblade" Jay White, Colten Gunn and Austin Gunn

This was another huge addition to the Tailgate Brawl with some unlikely allies in The Conglomeration and Bang Bang Gang. The Death Riders were out with everyone except for AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, who was preparing for Mark Davis later on WrestleDream. The Gunns were alone on the ramp until the music of “Switchblade” Jay White played, and he made his way out to the ramp as a big surprise! The reports of White’s demise may have been premature after the injury he suffered at last month’s Tailgate Brawl. Tony Schiavone relayed that White was cleared right before this match, per Tony Khan!

Strong and Connors opened this one, but a very intense Strong took it right to Connors and brought in Cassidy. The rest of the team each took turns helping Cassidy with double suplexes until Castagnoli stopped the festivities by reversing Cassidy and O’Reilly for a double suplex of his own! Castagnoli picked up Cassidy and began a giant swing that never seemed to end while the Dogs ran around the ring taking out anyone in their way! Castagnoli continued the giant swing long after and started to slow down, only to pick up the speed! He finally dropped Cassidy and stumbled out of the ring after, a clear side effect of that much spinning.

The dazed Cassidy was an easy target to isolate, with Wheeler Yuta handling much of the offense until Cassidy hit a Stundog Millionaire and tagged Austin Gunn. Gunn went to work on Yuta and then Garcia with his trademark quickness until he found himself on the wrong end of a double team, with Finlay tipping the scales back to his team’s side. With Gunn in trouble, his corner was completely cleared out. However, Gunn managed to fight out of the opposite corner and made the tag to White. He unloaded on everyone in his way! Finlay and Garcia ate back body drops, and Kidd and Castagnoli were taken down by Dragon Screws. Orange Cassidy hit a springboard flip to the outside and wiped out Yuta and Castagnoli!

Back in the ring, White spiked Finlay with a DDT for a near-fall. Finlay blocked a Blade Runner and stopped White with a big backbreaker over his knee. Colten tagged in and lit up Castagnoli before dropkicking him and Yuta. Garcia came in and ducked, so Colten caught him with a right hand. Colten missed a splash in the corner and found himself in the way of the Death Rider train, including Marina Shafir, who was immediately dropped by Willow Nightingale! Yuta threw Nightingale out of the ring to massive boos, but Cassidy spiked him with a DDT! Connors speared Cassidy, but was immediately lit up by a flurry from O’Reilly. Finlay took O’Reilly down with a lariat, so Strong crushed Finlay with a jumping knee. Kidd bounced Strong off the ropes for a German Suplex, so he didn’t see White waiting to take him head over heels with a Cutthroat Suplex! Garcia dropped White with Twist and Shout and found himself alone with The Gunns. Austin DDTed Garcia, so Finlay charged and ate a 3:10 to Yuma from The Gunns! Castagnoli came in, so Colten took him down with a flying clothesline!

The Gunns measured Castagnoli for 3:10 to Yuma, so Yuta got on the apron with a chair to distract the referee while Shafir pulled Austin from the ring. Colten went over to help and got crushed in the corner by Castagnoli’s running uppercut. Yuta went up top, and Castagnoli threw him onto Colten with a Fastball Special to get the pinfall win! After the match, the fight continued on the outside with White and Kidd until all 12 men, as well as Shafir and Nightingale, brawled! Officials finally got control, but there’s still plenty of tension between these two sides.

Best-of-5 Series, Match 1: Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) def. FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) (w/ Stokely)

This match initially began on Tailgate Brawl and spilled into WrestleDream! Amazingly, this was the first time these two sides met in tag team action. There was a clear feeling-out process between the four veterans, which was pointed out by Paul Wight on commentary. Harwood controlled Shelley on the mat with a headlock until Shelley turned things around with an arm drag. He brought Harwood to the corner and Sabin tagged in for a leapfrog axe handle. Sabin stayed on Harwood until Harwood moved Sabin to the corner and tagged Harwood. Harwood hit a big uppercut in the corner, and Sabin fired back, but got taken to the corner again, so Harwood could return to the match. He peppered Sabin with stiff shots in the corner until Sabin bounced back with a back elbow that sent Harwood sprawling to the floor. FTR quickly turned things around on Sabin and isolated him from Shelley for several minutes.

Harwood sent Wheeler into the corner for an attack on Sabin, but he escaped and made the tag to Shelley, who immediately came off the top with a crossbody on FTR! MCMG sent FTR to the outside and celebrated with the crowd. FTR and Stoke regrouped on the floor for an extended time as they did everything to work the count. Wheeler tagged Harwood, but Turned stopped Wheeler from coming in because it was an illegal tag. Harwood grabbed Shelley’s belt and worked him into the ropes, so Wheeler could nail him from the apron. Wheeler tagged in and hit Shelley with a neckbreaker for a near-fall. Wheeler threw Shelley to the ropes towards Harwood, so he slid under to the floor and FTR went out after him. He dove back in, and Sabin joined him in the ring, which quickly devolved into a brawl with MCMG knocking Harwood from the ring. Sabin worked over Wheeler in the corner, but Wheeler brought him out with a Manhattan Drop. He choked Sabin over the second rope as the Tailgate Brawl came to a close!

The match continued into the start of WrestleDream, so it was accompanied by the proper PPV pyro! Back in the ring, MCMG isolated Wheeler in the ring for their patented Dream Sequence flurry of double-team offense! The crowd was lit up for all of this and chanted, “AEW!” Shelley slid to the floor, but FTR avoided him and dumped him face-first on the apron; Stokely celebrated like he won something. He didn’t.

Shelley ate a backdrop on the apron, and Harwood continued the punishment in their corner. He knocked Shelley to the apron and distracted the referee so Wheeler could clothesline Shelley back in the ring. Harwood locked Shelley in an abdominal stretch and reached back to Wheeler for extra leverage, which brought Sabin into the ring. Referee Paul Turner stopped him, so that allowed FTR to do it again. Wheeler tried to tag in behind Turner’s back and locked in the abdominal stretch, so he tried to make Wheeler leave the ring, and Harwood came back in to grab Shelley. Shelley caught Harwood in a small package, but Turner was still preoccupied with Wheeler and turned around late to make a two-count. Shelley and Harwood took each other out with clotheslines.

Wheeler tagged in and immediately stomped Shelley to stop him from making a tag. Wheeler kept Shelley grounded until Harwood tagged in and slammed Shelley. Shelley rolled away from Harwood’s elbow drops and got to the apron. He fought off FTR and stunned Harwood over the top rope. Wheeler tried to dive onto Shelley, but Shelley moved, and Wheeler hit the announce desk! Shelley got back in the ring and tried to crawl to the corner, so Harwood grabbed him. Shelley reached until Harwood sent him off the ropes and dropped him with a chop/punch/lariat combo!

Wheeler tagged in and FTR hit an elevated front suplex for another near-fall. Shelley broke free of Wheeler, so Harwood tagged back in and traded shots with Shelley. He stopped Shelley from making the tag, so Shelley rolled him up for a two-count! Wheeler came in and grabbed Shelley’s leg, but he still managed to knock Harwood from the ring with an enzuigiri and then kicked free of Wheeler. Shelley crawled to make the tag, but Harwood pulled Sabin off the apron and drilled him on the floor! The crowd was furious and chanted, “BALD!”

Harwood returned to the ring and chopped Shelley to the mat. Harwood mockingly slapped Shelley, so he kicked Harwood away and Wheeler tagged in to charge Shelley in the corner. Shelley moved, and Wheeler went crotch-first into the middle turnbuckle! That’s a bad night in Orlando. Wheeler still tagged Harwood first, and he got in front of Shelley, but struck Sabin. However, Shelley immediately backdropped Harwood and tagged Sabin!

Sabin fired up on FTR, sending both to the floor with armdrags. He went to the apron and hit Wheeler with a kick to the chest and Harwood with a back kick to the face. Sabin took out Wheeler with a cannonball off the apron and tried to hit Harwood with a tornado DDT, but Stokely distracted Sabin, and Harwood grabbed Sabin from behind. Stokely went to hit Sabin, but Sabin moved, and Stokely nailed Harwood! Sabin pushed him in the ring and hit a springboard tornado DDT for a near-fall! Stokely knew he got bailed out there.

Wheeler pulled Sabin off the top rope, so Sabin punched him off the apron. Harwood used the opportunity to grab Sabin from behind, but Sabin reversed it and ran him into the ropes for a roll-up. Harwood kicked Sabin into the ropes on the kick-out, and Wheeler cracked Sabin with an uppercut from the floor. He stumbled back into a sit-out spinebuster and was covered, but Sabin managed to kick out in time! Harwood took a moment to gather himself until Wheeler came back in and lifted Sabin for a double-team, but Shelley broke it up by knocking Wheeler out of the ring while Sabin caught Harwood with a small package for a very close near-fall!

Shelley helped Sabin break free of Harwood, so Sabin nailed Harwood with a cutter and covered for yet another late kickout. Shelley tagged in and went to the top, but Wheeler knocked him onto the top turnbuckle and brought Sabin to the floor with a low bridge. Shelley fought Harwood off the ropes and knocked him into the ring for a top rope dropkick from Sabin! Shelley followed with a frog splash and covered, but Harwood kicked out! What a match!

Wheeler yanked Sabin from the ring, which allowed Harwood to crack Shelley with a right hand. Wheeler came back in, and they sent Shelley to the ropes, but he brought Wheeler over for a pin attempt as Sabin did the same to Harwood, and everyone kicked out! FTR fought out of the corner only to get blasted with double thrust kicks! Wheeler fell to the floor, so Sabin and Shelley cracked Harwood with a running boot/enzuigiri combo. They hit Skull and Bones on Harwood and nearly had it won, but Wheeler put Harwood’s foot on the rope!

Wheeler got knocked back to the outside, so Sabin and Shelley tried to set up Harwood for a Dirty Bomb, but Wheeler pulled Shelley to the floor and sent him into the ring post. Sabin chased out after and rolled into the ring right into Harwood’s grasp for a piledriver, as Wheeler came down from the second rope to complete the stuff piledriver! 1-2-Sabin kicked out! FTR couldn’t believe it! FTR called for a Shatter Machine, but Sabin avoided it, and Shelley nailed Harwood with another kick. MCMG quickly lit up Wheeler with strikes and dumped him with the Dirty Bomb to get the pinfall victory! The Motor City Machine Guns go up 1-0 in this best-of-5 series!

AEW Women's World Championship Match: "The CEO" Mercedes Moné (c) def. "The Toxic Spider" Thekla

Thekla had quite the entrance, as she was carried through the crowd on a Toxic Spider Throne! Moné made her entrance without the same service, but she had what Thekla wanted: the AEW Women’s World Championship! After Arkady Aura made the championship ring announcements, we were underway for the first-ever singles match between two of the best in the world!

Moné controlled the start by working Thekla over in a couple of corners before Thekla fired back. Moné took Thekla down with a Statement Marker, and Thekla was in major trouble! Thekla tried to get out, so Moné adjusted her grip, only for Thekla to bridge out and spider walk away! Moné seemed frustrated and sent Thekla to the ropes, so Thekla latched on and posed in between them! Moné went after her, but fell to the floor. Thekla slammed Moné’s masked, covered face into the apron before introducing her to a pair of barricades. Back in the ring, Thekla hit a diving crossbody for a near-fall. The crowd seemed to be behind Thekla, so she obliged them with a spider walk, only for Moné to run over and grab Thekla in a tombstone position. Moné started kneeing Thekla in the face and brought her down with a nasty lungblower! Moné covered, but Thekla kicked out.

Moné hit knees to Thekla’s back and a Meteora for another near-fall. Moné slapped Thekla and hit a suplex with a floatover pin to get yet another two-count. Moné put her knee in Thekla's back and pulled back on her arms as the crowd dueled with chants for both athletes! Moné stomped Thekla in the back and locked in a surfboard before trying another pin for a near-fall. Moné was briefly frustrated, so she regrouped and worked Thekla over in the corner. Moné tried her own version of a spider pose and charged Thekla, but Thekla caught her with a boot and sat on the top turnbuckle. Moné came back over, so Thekla locked her in a Tarantula over the ropes. Thekla hit a series of elbows and tried a headscissors, but was initially stopped, only to try again and send Moné into the second rope. Thekla hit a facewash boot to Moné in the ropes, followed by another on the apron. Moné hit a lungblower on the apron in response, which hurt her as well. She charged Thekla for a Meteora, but Thekla rolled in, and Moné went into the turnbuckle connectors! Moné was in pain on the floor, so Thekla came out with a stomp to Moné’s back from the apron!

Thekla mocked Moné’s title swing and threw her back in the ring for another near-fall. Thekla sent Moné to the corner, so Moné answered with a boot to the face and went to the top turnbuckle. Thekla slapped Moné and stood on the top rope, but Moné knocked her down, only for Thekla to transition into a Spider Suplex! She rose back up, and the crowd roared in approval! Thekla turned around and hit a double stomp from the top to the lower back of a doubled-over Moné! Thekla spider walked across the ring to set up for a spear, and she went high on Moné to lay her out! 1-2-Moné kicked out! Thekla tried to kick Moné, but she caught it and kicked Thekla in the face! Moné bounced the back of Thekla’s head off the second turnbuckle with a sunset flip bomb and followed with a high-velocity Meteora! Moné went to the middle rope and hit another Meteora for a two-count!

Moné tried for a Moné Maker, so Thekla rolled out of it and rolled into a leg lock submission across Moné’s face and arms! Moné got her foot on the rope to break it up, but Thekla followed with a stomp to the back of Moné’s head! Moné got her foot on the ropes in time to save her championship! Thekla tried to grab Moné’s legs, but was kicked away. Moné went to the apron and removed her protective facemask, unbeknownst to the referee and Thekla. Thekla went over to get Moné, so Moné blasted her in the face with the mask! Moné picked up Thekla for a Moné Maker, but Thekla rolled out of it and rolled up Moné off the ropes with a bridge for a near-fall! What a save by Mercedes! As Thekla tried to pull herself back up, the crowd chanted, “AEW!”

Thekla missed a stomp, and Moné immediately hit a Moné Maker to get the pinfall and a successful AEW Women’s World Championship defense!

Nick Wayne def. Jericho

Wayne was out first, so he was subjected to the crowd singing “Judas” as Jericho came to the ring and egged them on before the match got underway. The chants continued for Jericho as the bell rang, while Wayne tried to drown them out by covering his ears. The two came face to face, so Wayne spit at Jericho and Jericho spat right back! Jericho nailed Wayne, who rolled to the floor. Jericho followed with a baseball slide and threw Wayne into the steel steps. He tossed Wayne into the barricade and then did it again with Wayne flipping on the way before a nasty impact. Jericho passed out some beads he was wearing, including to Paul Wight, whom he stopped to embrace.

Wayne recovered and slammed Jericho’s head into the steel steps. He measured Jericho for a Canadian Destroyer, but Jericho caught him jumping off the steps and dumped him back on the steel with a release Death Valley Driver. Jericho grabbed a photographer’s camera to capture the moment. Back in the ring, Jericho chopped Wayne around the ring and put him on the top turnbuckle for punches, only for Wayne to push Jericho off the top rope and into a cameraman on the floor! Wayne went up top and nailed Jericho with an Arihara Moonsault to the floor! Wayne slammed Jericho into the steel steps and threw him back into the ring to keep the pressure on Jericho with kicks.

Jericho came back with a kick off the ropes, so Wayne answered right back with an uppercut to take Jericho down again. Wayne measured for Wayne’s World, but Jericho tripped him, and they fought up from the mat. Jericho hit chops that sent Wayne to the ropes for a high boot on Jericho. Jericho came back with one of his own and ducked Wayne’s roundhouse kick response. He chopped Wayne again and avoided Wayne’s handspring to hit a lariat. Wayne avoided a Judas Effect and nailed a roundhouse to Jericho’s face! Wayne sprung back off the ropes for Wayne’s World only to fall right back into a Codebreaker from Jericho! What a counter! Jericho covered, and Wayne kicked out. Jericho appeared to be bleeding above the right eye as they battled back to their feet. Wayne hit a stunner and came back up to follow it, but Jericho hit a brainbuster instead!

Jericho yelled at Wayne to get up and immediately knocked him back down. Jericho went to the ropes for a Lionsault, so Wayne kicked out his leg! Jericho was stuck in the ropes, so Wayne went up top and tried for a swanton bomb, only for Jericho to sit up in the nick of time! Wayne was clearly in pain, so he rolled to the floor. Jericho followed with a body press from the top to Wayne on the floor! Jericho threw Wayne in and went to the top rope, but Wayne stopped him and went up for punches. Wayne tried an avalanche hurricanrana, but Jericho powerbombed him off the top turnbuckle instead! He stacked Wayne up for the pin, but Wayne kicked out at two, and Jericho immediately rolled into the Walls of Jericho, and the fans erupted! Wayne eventually crawled to the ropes to break the hold and rolled to the floor. He grabbed a water bottle from under the ring and took a swig. When Jericho went to grab Wayne, Wayne spit in his face! Wayne grabbed Jericho on the apron and hit Wayne’s World! Wayne quickly recovered on the floor, while Jericho’s head was scrambled from hitting the hardest part of the ring.

Wayne went up top and connected with a 450 splash, but Jericho just barely kicked out in time! The crowd tried to will Jericho back to his feet, so Wayne continued to stay on Jericho and taunt him. Wayne tried Wayne’s World again, so Jericho ran underneath him and caught Wayne with a boot out of the corner. He pulled himself to the top turnbuckle, but Wayne cracked him with a jumping uppercut to the jaw. Wayne backed up for a running start and pulled Jericho off the top with a Wayne’s World! Jericho kicked out at 1! Jericho fired up, so Wayne charged at him and Jericho double-legged him for another Walls of Jericho! Orlando was on fire! Wayne rolled around to grab Jericho’s ankle, so Jericho sent him to the corner with a slingshot! Jericho caught Wayne with a bridging German Suplex for another near-fall and kept waist control.

Wayne took a wild swing that nearly hit referee Bryce Remsburg, which gave him the chance to hit Jericho with a low blow! Jericho didn’t move, and the referee came back over to admonish Wayne, who shoved him away and kicked Jericho low again! Once again, Jericho didn’t flinch, and Wayne was stunned. Jericho decked him with a right hand and revealed he was wearing a protective cup! He started to hit Wayne with the cup, so the referee took it away, which allowed Jericho to kick Wayne low! Jericho tried a Judas Effect, but Wayne fell down, and when Jericho went to grab him, Wayne used an inside cradle to pin Jericho for the win out of nowhere!

Wayne grabbed the microphone and reminded everyone that he beat Jericho again!

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) (c) def. Don Callis Family's "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher & "The Jet" Kevin Knight

Don Callis joined commentary to watch his team challenge for the gold. Knight and Nick started things off, but Knight took Nick down quickly, which seemed to flummox the younger Jackson. Matt tagged in, so Fletcher tagged in, and the crowd was electric. Fletcher knocked Matt down with a shoulder tackle. Matt tried to get free of Fletcher and Knight with a sliced bread, but when he ran up Knight, he lost control of Fletcher. Fletcher launched Knight over his head into a dropkick on Matt. Nick came in, and Fletcher immediately grabbed him for a gutbuster on his knee, followed by Knight hitting a flipping neckbreaker! That’s right out of the Young Bucks’ playbook!

Fletcher and Knight went into the Bucks’ usual attacks in the corners complete with a mid-ring do-si-do and high-five! They added insult to injury by hitting the Young Bucks’ trademark pose! Fletcher and Knight kept Matt in the corner until Matt fought out and hit Knight with a crossbody to the floor. He jumped back in the ring, and Fletcher briefly stopped him from making a tag before he tagged in Nick. Nick immediately came off the top with a crossbody to Fletcher and Knight. He fought them both off until Matt came back in to help knock Knight to the floor with an assisted dropkick. They clotheslined Fletcher over the top, and Matt trapped Knight’s head for a running dropkick by Nick!

Matt helped launch Nick onto the top rope for a springboard moonsault onto Fletcher and Knight! Nick immediately chased Callis into the crowd! Back in the ring, the Bucks hit a double team sunset flip on Fletcher, but Knight was immediately there for a springboard clothesline to Matt. Nick tried to get a 2-for-1 on an armdrag/headscissors combo, but Fletcher was ready for it and caught him. He adjusted to put Nick on his shoulder, and Knight got unbelievable air to dropkick Nick off Fletcher’s shoulders for one of the most impressive iterations of a Doomsday Device you will ever see! Nick got kicked to the floor, so Callis choked him with a mic wire behind the referee’s back.

Fletcher and Knight completely isolated Nick in their corner with relentless offense. Nick knocked Fletcher to the floor and tried to make a tag, so Knight threw him back across the ring. Nick ran down the apron to kick Fletcher in the chest! Nick jumped back in for a facebuster on Knight and tried to come back out for a moonsault to Fletcher off the apron, but Fletcher caught him, so Nick reversed that into a DDT on the floor! Fletcher was in major trouble after that one!

Nick crawled back in, and Knight grabbed him to stop a tag, but Nick kicked him away and tagged Matt! He went after Fletcher, but Knight came in to help. In the opposite corner, Matt turned things around by hitting Fletcher with a Sliced Bread #2 running off Knight’s chest. Matt went into the locomotion Northern Lights Suplexes until Knight put on the brakes. Matt ran him into the ropes to go for a rollup, so Fletcher came in to stop it, only for Matt to bring him over with a Northern Lights Suplex and a near-fall! Fletcher tried to grab Matt and Knight came over to help, but Matt got them both with a Northern Lights Suplex, and they kicked out! Orlando thought all of that was awesome!

Knight got stuck between the top and middle ropes by Matt, so Matt pulled Fletcher over the ropes near the Bucks' corner. Nick went up top and stomped Fletcher into a powerbomb from Matt while running across the ring to bring Knight down with a backstabber! Fletcher kicked out of Matt’s cover at two! Fantastic teamwork from the Bucks!

The Bucks grabbed Fletcher, but he broke free of Matt and caught Nick with a Michinoku Driver! Nick kicked out at two. Knight tagged in, and they sent Nick to the corner. He booted them both, and Fletcher put Nick on his shoulders for another dropkick Doomsday Device, but when Knight jumped, Matt got under him, and Knight wound up on his shoulders. That gave us a mid-ring chicken fight! They threw punches until both hit poisonranas at the same time! Nick and Knight took each other out with clotheslines. Fletcher tried to rush out of the corner, but Matt jumped off his partner’s back to hit a Canadian Destroyer! Everyone was down, and the crowd chanted, “HOLY SHIT!”

Nick and Knight got into a strike battle until Nick hit a superkick, only for Knight to come back with a dropkick! Matt tagged in and hit Knight with a DDT. Fletcher came in and hit Matt with a half-and-half suplex. Nick made a blind tag to Matt, so Fletcher charged into a kick from Nick. Matt crotched Fletcher on the top rope, so Nick could bring him down with a hurricanrana! The Bucks nailed Knight with a pair of superkicks. The Bucks scaled opposite corners and counted down, but they waited too long, which allowed Fletcher and Knight to knock them down. Knight took Matt down with a top rope hurricanrana, but on the opposite side Nick brought Fletcher down hard with a top rope poisonrana! Knight came down on Nick with a UFO Splash! Fletcher couldn’t get over to make the tag, as Nick rolled to the apron. The crowd chanted, “FIGHT FOREVER!”

Nick hit Knight with a Superkick on the apron and followed with a nasty German Suplex! Fletcher cracked Nick with a big thrust kick. Nick was able to hold Fletcher long enough for Matt to springboard off the second rope to DDT Fletcher on the corner of the ring! The Bucks were fired up and tried to double-team Knight, but he shoved Matt into Nick on the barricade. He leaped up and brought Nick to the floor with a hurricanrana! Knight backed all the way up and ran off the commentary desk to lariat Nick, but he ducked, and Matt blasted Knight with a superkick! Matt grabbed Knight for a piledriver, so Nick ran down both commentary desks and flipped off to spike Knight on the floor!

Back in the ring, Fletcher quickly knocked Matt back to the floor and crushed Nick with a huge thrust kick. Fletcher tried a Sheerdrop Brainbuster, but Nick turned it into a hurricanrana for a wild near-fall! The Bucks hit Fletcher with a BTE Trigger! 1-2-FLETCHER KICKED OUT! The crowd was shocked! The Bucks were shocked! Matt rolled Fletcher over to start More Bang for Your Buck, but Fletcher got his knees up on Nick’s way down and then shoved Matt onto the top turnbuckle, trapping him in the tree of woe. He lawndarted Nick onto Matt, so with both Bucks down in the corner, Knight scaled the adjacent corner and connected on a massive coast-to-coast on the champions! Fletcher spiked Matt with a Sheerdrop Brainbuster! 1-2-Matt kicked out!

Fletcher blasted Matt with a running kick in the corner and put him on the top turnbuckle. He followed and hit Matt with another Sheerdrop Brainbuster on the top turnbuckle! As Matt crashed down, Knight somehow skied all the way across the ring for a UFO Splash! Fletcher covered, but Nick made the save just in time! The crowd came unglued at that photo finish!

He hit a running boot on Nick in the corner and tried to do the same to Matt on the opposite side, but Matt moved, and Nick followed right behind Fletcher with a knee to the face. TBS Championship 4-Way Match: TBS & CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone (c) def. Hyan, Dani Luna, Queen Aminata

Nigel McGuiness joined the commentary desk in Wight’s spot to start the next match. Persephone piefaced Aminata at the bell, which set off a chain reaction of pin attempts until Persephone thought she had control and turned her back on her opponents. She turned around to get triple-teamed by all three challengers and was knocked from the ring. Luna and Hyan wound up alone in the ring, with Luna using her power to light up Hyan with a lariat and a Northern Lights Suplex before a sliding lariat got Luna a near-fall.

Aminata came in and quickly took advantage of Luna to administer Chocolate Kisses! She booted Luna to the floor and threw her into a barricade. Aminata sat Luna in a chair and chopped her before going to the apron. Hyan cut her off with a chop followed by a flurry of offense punctuated by a snap suplex. She smashed Aminata with a fireman’s carry forward slam and a leg drop, but Persephone broke it up with a pin attempt of her own to get a near-fall. Hyan ran into a backbreaker from Persephone, who kept the offense up with a fallaway slam to Luna. Aminata stopped that from going any further and exchanged chops with Persephone until Hyan speared them both!

Luna briefly stunned Hyan and went to the second rope, but Hyan speared her on the way down! Persephone pulled Hyan out to break up the pin. Hyan speared Persephone on the floor! She celebrated with the crowd and took too long getting Persephone back in the ring, so Luna pulled her over the top rope from the apron with a deadlift German Suplex! Aminata immediately dropped Luna with Queen’s Crown and dragged her to the corner. Aminata hit a diving foot stomp from the top, but Persephone got in to break it up with a diving dropkick.

Persephone hit Aminata with knee lifts, which allowed Luna to get a clean shot on Persephone. They battled on the apron with chops until Persephone tried to German Suplex Luna to the floor. Aminata charged, so Luna blasted her and then back elbowed Persephone. Hyan hit Persephone with a baseball slide under Luna and then tried to powerbomb Luna off the apron, which she finally did when Aminata cracked Luna with another Queen’s Crown! A brutal landing for Luna! Hyan walked right into a running kick from Aminata on the apron, which landed her in a chair. Aminata took advantage with a running dropkick off the apron to the floor!

Hyan suplexed Aminata to the corner and ran around the ring to crack her with a running knee to the side of the head. Hyan hit a Falcon Arrow on Aminata for a two-count. Persephone hit Hyan with a release German Suplex and thrust kick to Aminata. Luna stopped Persephone from hitting Hyan with a crucifix powerbomb by pulling Hyan down and running Persephone into the corner. Luna put Hyan down with a spinebuster and put Persephone on her back before grabbing Hyan to complete a fallaway slam/Samoan Drop combo!

Luna stopped Aminata with a running clothesline and followed with a Blue Thunder Bomb, so Hyan came over to break up the pin. Hyan and Luna traded shots in the middle before Luna took her down for a flurry of punches. Hyan stopped Luna with a kick to the face and used a double underhook facebuster to smash her into the mat. Persephone broke up that pin attempt from the top rope and unloaded on Hyan with punches. She slammed Hyan down from her shoulders and followed with a top rope moonsault to get the three-count on Hyan for the successful TBS Title defense!

AEW National Championship Match: Andrade El Ídolo (c) def.  Tommaso Ciampa

That quickly set off a brawl between the two and a rapid-fire exchange of reversals that ended in a stalemate. Andrade tried to get into Three Amigos, but only got one before Ciampa hit a German Suplex. Andrade battled back with a crossbody from the top before knocking Ciampa over the top to the floor.

He threw Ciampa back in and went up top for a split-legged moonsault! Ciampa kicked out at two and immediately bailed to the floor. Andrade followed out with a springboard tornillo! McGuiness was the lucky recipient of Ciampa’s first set of trunks.

Ciampa mocked Andrade’s call for running knees, but Andrade fired out of the corner with a clothesline. He stayed on Ciampa with additional shots to put him in the corner, but when he charged for the knee attack, Ciampa got up, and Andrade adjusted into an elbow drop neckbreaker. Andrade started to take his pants off, and the crowd went wild! Ciampa caught Andrade with his pants down, literally, and attacked him from behind. He put Andrade on the top turnbuckle, but Andrade elbowed Ciampa back to the mat. With his pants on his knees, Andrade went for a moonsault, so Ciampa rolled, but Andrade got him on the second attempt for a near-fall.

Andrade completed the pants removal and fought Ciampa on the top rope, looking for his own Air Raid Crash, so Ciampa dropped down looking for a sunset flip powerbomb, which Andrade counteracted by moonsaulting to the middle of the ring. He immediately blasted Ciampa with running knees and backed all the way up to do it again. Ciampa moved, so Andrade pushed off the turnbuckles and hit the ropes again to catch Ciampa in the ropes. Andrade covered, but Ciampa kicked out!

Andrade climbed the ropes, so Ciampa shoved him all the way to the floor. Ciampa grabbed Andrade’s pants and beat them up. He hit the pants with a Project Ciampa and ordered the referee to count. 1-2-THE PANTS KICKED OUT! A well-deserved “HOLY SHIT!” chant from the crowd!

Andrade kicked out just in time!
