AEW Dynamite & Collision Results: October 14, 2026 – Clockwork Carnage Field Set, Mark Davis Pins Jon Moxley, New WrestleDream Matches, More

AEW Dynamite and Collision was a 3-hour live special on TBS and HBO Max from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland! It was the final stop before AEW WrestleDream, this Saturday in Orlando, and there was still much to settle, including the final five qualifiers for Clockwork Carnage, which featured a pair of title matches! And while AEW World Champion Will Ospreay will defend in Clockwork Carnage, he had to contend with one of his challengers in a tag team match tonight.
Ospreay and AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo of United Empire were defeated by Samoa Joe and Tommaso Ciampa when Ciampa spiked Andrade on the National Title, which allowed Joe to lock in a Coquina Clutch for the win. Ciampa will officially challenge Andrade for the AEW National Championship at WrestleDream!
Ospreay learned who would join him, “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Joe in the final five spots of Clockwork Carnage. Adam Copeland beat Josh Alexander and then announced that 2027 will be his final year in the ring, so he has to go after the AEW World Title. He’ll be joined by Konosuke Takeshita, who took down Brian Cage. Plus, Ricochet punched his ticket with a win over Ace Austin, AEW International Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada retained and qualified over Myron Reed, and the main event saw TNT Champion Darby Allin claim the final spot and keep his title from Hechicero. The post-match action gave us a brief glimpse of Clockwork Carnage when all eight participants brawled to end the night!
In addition, Mark Davis pinned AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley in the opening trios match before they meet at WrestleDream for the Continental Title. Thekla sent a big message to AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné with a statement victory in a huge trios battle. And we learned FTR and the Motor City Machine Guns will begin a best-of-5 series at WrestleDream!
All that and so much more went down in Cleveland on this massive night of AEW action!
AEW Dynamite & Collision Results From Cleveland
Don Callis Family (Mark Davis, Jake Doyle and Wardlow) def. Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, Gabe Kidd and Daniel Garcia)
The night began with the Death Riders cutting their way through the crowd for the opening contest. Wardlow, Davis and Doyle lined up across the top of the ramp, and Wardlow looked to either side of him to appreciate just how massive this team was before heading to the ring.
Garcia fired up the crowd before stepping to Davis, who quickly took Garcia down in the corner. Garcia came back at Davis to grab a headlock until Davis powered out and escaped a dragon screw. He missed a senton splash, so Garcia grabbed another headlock. Doyle made a blind tag and entered to thump Garcia with a double shoulder block next to Davis. Doyle stayed on Garcia with more unrelenting power until Garcia got away long enough to tag Kidd. Kidd called across the ring for Wardlow, so Doyle obliged with a tag. Wardlow and Kidd went head-to-head in the middle of the ring until Kidd unloaded with chops. Wardlow knocked Kidd off his feet and into the air with a huge shoulder block!
Garcia tagged back in and tried the side headlock on Wardlow, but he dropped Garcia with the same brick wall shoulder block. The crowd chanted for Moxley, so Garcia tagged him in, and he bounced off the ropes for a shoulder block. Wardlow didn’t go off his feet, but Mox did when Wardlow ran into him. Wardlow did it again, so Moxley got up and slapped Wardlow in the face and egged him on to do it again. Wardlow hit the ropes, only for Mox to be waiting with a shot to the throat. He followed with chops and headbutts, but Wardlow put Mox right back down with a clothesline. Wardlow stomped Moxley in the corner and tagged Doyle, who splashed Moxley in the corner. He tried it again, so Mox moved and tagged Kidd. He charged across the ring to knock Davis and Wardlow down to the apron before trading lariats with Doyle. Both men got a head of steam, and Kidd dropped Doyle like a stone with a powerful lariat! That set off a flurry of offense from both sides that left Wardlow alone with Garcia. He tried the Powerbomb Symphony, but Garcia slipped out and locked in a Dragon Tamer! Everyone hit the ring, and it was broken up as the match started to break down on the floor!
Garcia wound up isolated by the Callis Family, although Kidd eventually had enough and tried to battle his way into the ring before order was restored. Doyle pulled Garcia into a short-arm clothesline, but Garcia wouldn’t go down! Garcia fired up and came back with a desperate flying clothesline! Davis tagged in as Mox did the same on the other side! We have a WrestleDream preview! Davis initially staggered Mox with a body shot, only for Mox to drop Davis with a surprise cutter!
Mox mounted Davis for a flurry of punches in the corner and followed with a pair of lariats in the middle of the ring, although it wasn’t enough to take down Davis! Davis fought out of a piledriver and tried to gutwrench Mox, but he escaped for a choke. Davis got out of it with a side suplex, and Moxley got back up to hit a lariat. Davis avoided a Death Rider with an enzuigiri and bounced Mox off the ropes for a lariat, but Moxley was ready for it and sent Davis to the apron. Moxley dropkicked Davis to the floor and followed up with a dive that knocked Davis into the barricade. He managed to snatch Wardlow and Doyle for a double DDT!
Back in the ring, the Death Riders unloaded their patented rapid-fire assault on Davis in the corner, including Marina Shafir, who got a shot in with Kidd distracting the referee. Garcia put Davis in the Dragon Tamer, which gave Moxley a free chance to stomp Davis’ head into the mat! He covered, but Doyle and Wardlow got back in to break it up. Doyle and Wardlow tried stereo powerbombs on Garcia and Kidd, but they were able to slip out. Kidd knocked Doyle to the outside while Garcia briefly grabbed Wardlow in a guillotine, which Wardlow tried to get out of with a vertical suplex. Kidd hit a lariat on Wardlow, so Wardlow came back with a right hand. Garcia goozled Wardlow, who laughed and pulled Garcia’s arm off his throat. Kidd came over to help Garcia and took both himself and Wardlow over the top to the floor with a wild lariat.
Garcia jumped to the floor and grabbed Doyle in a guillotine, while back in the ring, it was back to Davis and Moxley. Davis floored Moxley with a lariat and hit Close Your Eyes and Count to Three to pin Moxley! If he does that on Saturday, we’ll have a new AEW Continental Champion! What a massive victory for the Don Callis Family!
Clockwork Carnage Qualifier: "The Rated-R Superstar" Adam Copeland def. Don Callis Family's Josh Alexander
Copeland was serenaded by the Cleveland crowd, as he hoped to earn his first AEW World Championship match since February 2025. Alexander, who was vocal about what this match meant to him, showed no reverence toward Cope and quickly locked in before the bell. A feeling-out process saw Copeland knock Alexander down multiple times until Alexander stopped a baseball slide on the apron with an ankle pick. He slammed Copeland’s leg into the corner of the ring and then did it again on the steel steps, clearly showing his game plan to go after the previously broken leg.
With Alexander masterfully executing his strategy, Copeland tried anything to break free of Alexander’s grasp. He finally kicked his way free, but when he leaped up to avoid Alexander in the corner, he came down on the bad leg and was immediately hobbled. Alexander wasted no time chopping Copeland in the front of the leg with ferocious killer instinct. Alexander kicked Cope’s leg until Cope kicked him out of the ring. Alexander came back in only for Cope to hit a jumping big boot with his good leg.
Both men fought off the mat and back to their feet, which turned into an exchange of strikes. It devolved into a hockey fight of sorts when Alexander started slapping Copeland. Copeland sent Alexander to the floor and connected on a baseball slide. He threw Alexander back in and went up top for a crossbody to Alexander’s back! Copeland covered, but Alexander managed to kick out in time. Alexander hit a stiff strike, so Copeland stuck him with an Impaler DDT! He couldn’t capitalize for a cover, so he got up to try a spear. Alexander moved and grabbed a rear waistlock, which he quickly turned into rolling German Suplexes. Copeland tried to grab the top turnbuckle to block Alexander, but Alexander yanked him out of the corner, which made Copeland pull the cover off the buckle. Alexander bridged the final suplex for a near-fall! Alexander cinched in an ankle lock in the middle of the ring until Copeland rolled through it and sent Alexander face-first into the middle turnbuckle pad.
Copeland backed up for another spear attempt, but Alexander moved and sent him head-first into the exposed buckle! Alexander speared Copeland! 1-2-Cope kicked out! Alexander couldn’t believe it and tried to slap himself back into focus. Copeland backdropped Alexander to the apron and ran him into the exposed buckle before sending him into the adjacent buckle from the apron. Copeland hit a slingshot cutter! Copeland couldn’t get on Alexander in time for a pin attempt, so he slowly made his way to the top rope. Alexander stopped him with a stiff shot, and he tried to set up a superplex. Copeland escaped to the mat and dropped Alexander on the exposed buckle with an electric chair drop! Copeland finished Alexander with a spear to get the pinfall victory! Adam Copeland is the fourth man to join the field of eight for Clockwork Carnage!
Copeland briefly put Alexander’s headgear on before grabbing the microphone. He said the last few weeks have been difficult. He explained that Christian Cage broke three ribs and had a collapsed lung five minutes into their All Out AEW World Tag Team Championship match, but he was still battling on top of the ladder at the end of the match. That’s because of his work ethic and commitment to the fans. The crowd chanted for Cage!
Copeland said that without Cage, he’d have to do some soul-searching. He’s not on the posters of kids anymore. He’s aging out, and that’s okay because it happens to everything.
“But because of that, I just wanted to let you all know that 2027 will be my last year in wrestling.”
The crowd expressed disappointment, and Copeland said he understood, but that’s why he has to go for the AEW World Championship.
Don Callis interrupted Copeland, flanked by Brian Cage. Callis tried to shout over the wall of boos to talk about the great night for the Don Callis Family and question Copeland’s declaration. Callis said Copeland doesn’t get to make that call because people like him decide when that happens. Callis said he didn’t think Copeland would see 2027, which brought out Lance Archer, Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight to attack Copeland. As the Callis Family had Copeland in dire straits, Konosuke Takeshita hit the ring with The Conglomeration to make the save!
After clearing the ring, it was time for the next qualifier!
Clockwork Carnage Qualifier: "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita def. Don Callis Family's "The Machine" Brian Cage
The two men collided in the middle of the ring to begin the match, and the slugfest somehow wasn’t enough to knock either man down. Cage gained a brief advantage until Takeshita snapped him over with a hurricanrana followed by a big boot off the apron. Takeshita missed a crossbody to the floor, so Cage knocked him down from the apron. Cage got a head of steam and flipped over the top to take out Takeshita! What athleticism from The Machine!
Cage threw Takeshita into the barricade and steel steps before punishing Takeshita with chops. Cage dropped Takeshita on top of the barricade with a side suplex before returning him to the ring! Cage ran into a pair of boots in the corner, but managed to catch Takeshita’s rising knee and powerbomb him into the buckles! Cage and Takeshita traded reversals until Cage nailed a sitout Alabama Slam for a near-fall! Cage had control, with the Callis Family looking to get one back after Alexander lost to Copeland.
Takeshita battled back to grab Cage for a Full Nelson. Cage broke free, so Takeshita transitioned into a German Suplex. Takeshita hit a running boot in the corner, but Cage stopped anything more with a pop-up powerbomb. Cage hit a swinging kick off the ropes and lined up Takeshita for a discus lariat. Takeshita moved and caught Cage off the ropes with a Blue Thunder Bomb! Cage kicked out at two! The two traded powerbomb reversals until Takeshita connected with a sitout powerbomb for a very near fall!
Cage stopped a Takeshita flurry with a thrust kick to the corner. Takeshita answered with a boot out of the corner and sat on the top turnbuckle. Cage stopped Takeshita with a pair of strikes and went up to meet him. The Machine bounced to the top rope and brought Takeshita down with an Avalanche Hurricanrana! How did he do that?! Cage covered, but Takeshita managed to kick out again!
Takeshita ducked a discus lariat and began trading lariats with Cage. He rushed Cage in the corner, but missed a jumping knee strike and hit the top turnbuckle. Takeshita came down in pain, so Cage pulled him up for a deadlift superplex from the apron back into the ring! Takeshita rolled through to hit Raging Fire! That desperation offense took a lot out of Takeshita, who couldn’t get over for a pin attempt. Takeshita picked up Cage and hit him with a pair of lariats before a third finally put Cage down.
However, Cage bounced back up for a lariat of his own to drop Takeshita! Takeshita kicked out to stay alive! Takeshita escaped a Drill Claw to lock in a Dragon Sleeper. Cage got out of it by putting Takeshita back on his shoulder. He tried to swing him around, but Takeshita landed on his feet and blasted Cage with a jumping knee. Takeshita locked Cage in a Dragon Sleeper once again and got the tap-out from Cage to get the win! Takeshita is in Clockwork Carnage!
United Empire Have The Championship Priorities in Order
Renee Paquette was backstage with United Empire’s AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo, AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Brawling Birds, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Ospreay said he just came back from Japan and can’t wait to see who will qualify for Clockwork Carnage, but tonight, he’s got some flavor for Samoa Joe. Speedball said he’ll be ready for anyone, including Ospreay. The Birds jumped in as the newest members of United Empire and acknowledged that Wrathlander are the #1 contenders for their titles, so whenever they want to get slapped up, come find them. Andrade said Ciampa should have bought him dinner before kissing him, but Ciampa thinks he can beat him? He has just one question. The rest of the UE asked what the question was.
“How you know?”
Ospreay said that whether it is tonight or Saturday, they are here to show the power of United Empire!
Motor City Machine Guns Want FTR in a Best-of-5 Series
Tony Schiavone introduced FTR and Stoke to the stage. He pointed out Stoke’s remaining injuries from their loss at All Out, but Harwood stopped him from saying anything more. Harwood was clearly angry about the Young Bucks holding the gold and pointed out they beat them three out of five times, so why aren’t they the #1 contenders?
They were interrupted by the Motor City Machine Guns!
Chris Sabin gave FTR plenty of respect and props, but said if there’s a team who can match that, it’s the Motor City Machine Guns. Sabin said it’s all about the here and now as part of the greatest tag team division, so to begin their journey to the top, how about they beat FTR? Shelley said if FTR has beaten the Bucks three out of five times, he’ll use the same psychology. What if the Machine Guns beat FTR three out of five times? He’ll take that one step further: Motor City Machine Guns vs. FTR Best-of-Five Series! And he’ll go another step further: how about they do match one tonight? The crowd loved it, but Stoke shut it down and said he doesn’t really rock with that. He said ain’t no way this is happening in Cleveland. He said Sabin and Shelley had their chance at FTR in the past, but they up and left.
Stoke is all about big money matches. This is a dream match and a dream series. There’s no other place to kick it off than WrestleDream.
“Top guys, out.”
The two teams had a tense handshake before FTR left.
Brodido Tries to Calm Down Hangman After Grand Slam: France
Page was ranting and raving about Swerve finding a new trio just as soon as Page won the AEW World Trios Titles. Then, Swerve pulled Page from the ring and tried to drag him back to the same hell they had already been through. Finally, King jumped in and told Page that whatever Swerve is doing is working, so if they want to win the titles back, they have to get their head in the game. Bandido asked Mr. Hangman to be tranquilo and said two-out-of-three falls in lucha libre tradition. Bandido said they’ll take their belts and their honor.
AEW International Championship Match & Clockwork Carnage Qualifier: "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada of the Don Callis Family (c) def. Myron Reed of The Rascalz
This was a rematch from earlier this year when Okada turned away Reed to defend the International Title. Okada had to put the championship on the line as part of this qualifier, so Reed got another shot at the gold and a chance to fight for more at WrestleDream. Okada gave Reed a clean break on the ropes to start the match, but tried a cheap shot, only for Reed to avoid it. Reed seemed to frustrate Okada by sending him to the outside with a dropkick, but Okada shut that down with a flapjack back in the ring.
Okada kept the pace slow by pounding him in the corner. Okada hit a bodyslam and went up top for an elbow drop, so Reed put his feet up, only for Okada to stop short on the way down. Reed hit Okada with an upkick, but when Reed tried to spring out of the corner, Okada caught him for a neckbreaker across the knee!
Okada remained in control and nailed an elbow drop from the top. Okada flipped off the crowd in his Rainmaker pose, but Reed rolled him into a near-fall. Reed hit a leg drop with Okada stuck in the ropes and a big thrust kick before a Hang Five for a near-fall. Reed skied over the top and connected on Okada! Okada hit a dropkick, but Reed avoided a Rainmaker and backdropped Okada to the floor. Reed used the barricade for more punishment and hit a 450 splash from the ring steps to Okada on the floor! Ouch!
Back in the ring, Okada achieved wrist control and tried to pull Reed up, so Reed jumped all the way to the top and jumped backward for a Poisonrana to plant Okada! Reed missed another 450 Splash, and Okada grabbed him for a Rainmaker that connected to level Reed! Okada covered and got the win to take the sixth spot in Clockwork Carnage and retain the AEW International Title!

The New Level Sends a Message to Hangman and Brodido
Austin Creed, Kofi and Prince Nana were in the back, hyped up, but looking for Swerve. Nana said Swerve had to take care of some serious family business, but he sent one of their good good good good good friends to take his spot for the night. One of the funniest comedians, Mojo Brookzz! Brookzz said he wants to get active! He wants to hit someone with a chair and bust them open. When they asked him who he wanted to do this to, Brookzz said Brody King! They tried to quiet that idea as they continued to the ring.
Brookzz hyped up the AEW World Trios Championship match at WrestleDream before Kofi took things over to discuss their great opponents this weekend. As Kofi ran down each man and their accomplishments, Brookzz had a little too much to say about each, so Kofi changed the mood. He said, in all seriousness, they already beat them for the titles. Creed wondered aloud how you could beat each of them twice. Creed said Hangman shouldn’t let his personal issues with Swerve turn into professional issues with his friends.
“Thank Goooooood for The New Level!”
Artist of STARDOM Champions Triangle of Madness ("The Toxic Spider" Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue) def. AEW Women's World Champion "The CEO" Mercedes Moné & Divine Dominion ("Megasus" Megan Bayne and "Colossal" Lena Kross)
Thekla and Moné faced off at the bell and exchanged reversals off big finishing moves before each tried a quick pin attempt. Thekla got in Moné’s face, so Moné carried her to the corner and Kross tagged in to nail Thekla. Bayne tagged in to continue the assault before bringing Thekla to another corner for more punishment. Thekla kicked free, so Bayne pulled her off the top rope. Thekla got free again and tagged Hart, but she was immediately dropped by Bayne. Divine Dominion and Moné posed in the ropes while Hart was being choked out.
Hart bounced back with a series of kicks on Bayne before capturing Bayne in the ropes for a dropkick from Blue. That nearly broke the match down, but Hart got Bayne in the ring for an octopus hold. Blue and Thekla came in to cut off Kross and Moné with their own octopii! All the holds were broken up by sidewalk slams! Blue found herself away from her corner for quite some time thanks to a massive powerbomb into the buckles by Bayne. Kross and Bayne went into their corner attacks that saw Blue eat a big boot, German Suplex and Meteora, although the pin was broken up in time. Blue avoided another Meteora and nailed Moné with a basement dropkick.
Thekla tagged in and cleared house! She put her focus on Kross with a flurry of offense including a boot from the apron and a crossbody from the top for a near-fall. Thekla locked Kross in a bridging crossface, but was pulled off by Bayne. Thekla tried to put Bayne in a guillotine, so Bayne threw her to the mat for a huge knee strike from Kross. Hart was right there to break up the pin attempt, but was blasted with a flying clothesline from Bayne. Blue spiked Bayne with a Canadian Destroyer! Moné hit Blue with a backstabber, but was quickly knocked from the ring by Thekla. Thekla DDTed Kross for another two-count and picked her off the mat for a roundhouse kick. Thekla went into her spider walk, but Moné tried to come in with the AEW Women’s World Title only to eat stereo thrust kicks from Hart and Blue!
Thekla picked up the title, so the referee tried to take it away, and in the chaos, Hart sprayed Kross with the black mist! Sisters of Sin hit another pair of kicks and a front suplex on Kross. Thekla stomped Kross into the mat and pinned her for the win! Moné stewed on the outside while Thekla celebrated in the ring.
The Opps' Samoa Joe & "Psycho Killer" Tommaso Ciampa def. United Empire's AEW World Champion Will Ospreay & AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo
The crowd was on fire from the jump, as it appeared we were going to see Andrade and Ciampa start things off. Instead, Ciampa decided to tag out to Joe. Joe worked Andrade into the corner and dragged his face across the ropes. Andrade battled out of the corner and hit a big boot. Joe missed a charge in the opposite corner, and Andrade quickly went to the top for a crossbody that got a one-count. Joe nailed a big headbutt and tagged Ciampa. He stomped Andrade in the corner, but lowered his head too soon, and Andrade kicked Ciampa before tagging Ospreay!
Ospreay and Andrade immediately went into a barrage of double-team offense on Ciampa to get a near-fall. Ospreay missed a chop on Ciampa, who answered with one of his own before sending Ospreay face-first into the middle turnbuckle. Ciampa failed to capitalize, so Ospreay snapped him over with a headscissors and tagged Andrade. Andrade clotheslined Ciampa to the floor and followed with a big crossbody over the top to take out Ciampa! Andrade wandered over to an admirer in the front row for a selfie with United Empire in control!
Back in the ring, Andrade got pushed into the wrong corner, which allowed Joe to get back in the match. He took it to Andrade and made quick tags with Ciampa to keep him away from Ospreay. The crowd tried to will Andrade back into the match, but Joe shut that down with a back elbow/enzuigiri combo in the corner for a near-fall. Ciampa tagged back in and peppered Andrade with shots until Andrade nearly made it to Ospreay for a tag, only for Ciampa to knock him off the apron. Andrade hit Ciampa with a desperate flying forearm and finally tagged Ospreay!
Ospreay was all over Ciampa and dropped him with a flying corkscrew kick before knocking Joe off the apron. Ospreay crushed Ciampa with a springboard forearm for a two-count. Ospreay and Ciampa got in a strike exchange until Ospreay blasted Ciampa with a hook kick that knocked him into the ropes. Ospreay charged, so Ciampa pushed him to the outside. Ospreay got on the apron, but Joe was able to grab him long enough for Ciampa to hit Ospreay with a bicycle knee! Joe tagged in and caught Ospreay with a combo in the corner before putting Ospreay on the top buckle for a Muscle Buster. Ospreay kicked free and tried an OsCutter, so Joe simply walked away! He followed with a senton splash and covered, but Andrade broke it up. Ospreay took Joe and Ciampa out with a double corkscrew kick!
Andrade tagged in and called for running knees on Joe, but he was distracted by Ciampa on the apron with the National Title, so he hit him instead. Joe took that chance to go for the Coquina Clutch, but Andrade rolled out of it for a near-fall. As Joe kicked out, he sent Andrade right into Ciampa, who spiked Andrade on the apron with a Willow’s Bell DDT into the National Title! Joe pulled Andrade back in and locked in the Coquina Clutch, with the referee having no choice but to call for the bell! Joe and Ciampa win! Joe passed the AEW World Title to Ospreay, and we learned that Tony Khan made it official: Andrade defends the AEW National Title against Ciampa at WrestleDream!
That brings the Dynamite portion of the night to a close, so it’s time for Collision!
Jon Moxley is Dealing with a Great Deal of Pain
Renee Paquette caught up with Jon Moxley following another loss. “This is two losses now for you. I know this has been a very difficult couple of weeks, but what is going on?”
Moxley didn’t answer; instead, he wailed in anger and began destroying anything he could get his hands on before collapsing to the ground.
Paquette rushed over to his side. “Jon, what is happening? What’s going on?”
Moxley said, “A great deal of pain.” Renee pressed him. “What kind of pain are you in?”
“Not sure I can tell the difference anymore.”
Marina Shafir walked over after a long pause. Then she grabbed Moxley, and he locked eyes with her. “Eyes up. Lock in. The only way out is through. You understand me?”
That seemed to snap him out of it as he tried to fire himself up by pushing the other Death Riders while Shafir left with Paquette, who still looked concerned.
Clockwork Carnage Qualifier: Ricochet of The Demand def. Ace Austin of Bang Bang Gang
Austin took this match in place of the injured “Switchblade” Jay White, which will be Austin’s third crack at Ricochet after being unsuccessful in two previous matches. Austin stayed a step ahead of Ricochet in the early going, even taking Ricochet to the floor to crack him with a kick over the steel steps. Back in the ring, the two exchanged big shots, although Austin seemed to be getting the better of Ricochet. Finally, in an act of frustration, Ricochet shoved Austin through the ropes to the floor. Ricochet flew over the top with a twisting press onto Austin to crash him into the floor!
Ricochet stayed on Austin and cut off any brief windows of hope for Austin until both men wound up battling on the top rope. They both tried suplexes to no avail, so Austin caught Ricochet with a rising kick and attempted to bring him down with a hurricanrana. Ricochet managed to land on his feet and celebrated his feat just a moment too long, as Austin caught him with a brainbuster. They fought back to their feet until Austin seemed to stagger Ricochet with a series of kicks and strikes. Ricochet swept Austin’s leg and nailed him with a running knee. They exchanged waistlocks until Ricochet carried Austin over for a bridging German Superplex for a near-fall.
Ricochet went up top for a Shooting Star Press, so Austin moved, and Ricochet landed on his feet. Austin stunned Ricochet with a strike, and Ricochet landed on Austin’s back, so Austin squatted him to a vertical base before swinging Ricochet into a dangerous Flatliner. Ricochet managed to kick out! Austin went for The Fold, so Ricochet stopped him cold with a lunging headbutt. He followed with a Spirit Gun and Vertigo to pin Austin for a three-count! Ricochet is in Clockwork Carnage!
Young Bucks Surprise Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight Ahead of WrestleDream
Renee Paquette was set up and waiting for the Young Bucks, joined by Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight and Don Callis. With the Bucks nowhere in sight, Callis took it upon himself to settle in. “AEW World Tag Team Champions? They’re not here yet. They’re not coming. So I’m just going to, if you don’t mind, just move over here.” He pulled up a chair and made himself comfortable.
Renee turned her attention to Fletcher and Knight. “You guys have both had your individual goals and successes here in AEW, but Don convinced you guys to work as a tag team. Now, this Saturday at WrestleDream, you guys have a shot at the World Tag Team Championships. It’s really impressive what you guys have done.”
Fletcher took it from there. “Very impressive, I would say. Look, individually, we are both incredible talents. I should be looking at a three-time TNT Champion right now. But I digress. Don is the head of the family, and he has laid out his vision, and his vision is working spectacularly. We have gelled so very well together. All we have to do to become tag champs is beat the Young Bucks, which we have done before in a tables match, and now it’s just going down for a three-count. One, two, three. Easy peasy.”
Knight jumped in. “Easy. Renee, every single time we step into the ring, we make an impact. You’re looking at a multi-time champion right here in Kyle Fletcher. This is a stud, bona fide. And the Jet is still the greatest TNT Champion of all time. As great as we are individually, we’re even better as a team. I’m like Jordan; he’s like Pippen. I’m like Shaq; he’s like Kobe. And this right here,” gesturing to Callis, “is our Phil Jackson.”
Callis came back in, “I know what you’re going to say, Renee. You’re going to say, but you haven’t been a team for very long. But here’s the thing, Renee. They are two great singles wrestlers, as we’ve established, but we have an advantage. Yes, they’ve been a team a long time, but one of their four title wins they like to talk about was with me managing them. I know all of their secrets, I know all of their medical, and don’t forget, they may be blood related, but we are a family based on choice, based on excellence. Not a genetic misfire.”
Right on cue, the Young Bucks arrived and took out Fletcher and Knight! Matt Jackson offered a quick, “Hey, Renee, sorry for running a little bit late on the interview,” before turning to the competition. “Make sure you tell these pricks we’ll be on time Saturday night.”
Nick Wayne vs. Jericho 3 Set for WrestleDream
Justin Roberts announced that he was informed that, at this time, everyone was required to stand and cheer for the immensely good-looking, 21-year-old prodigy, Nick Wayne. Wayne made his way out to the ring with a huge image of his victory celebration over Jericho on the video wall.
“Nick Wayne beat Chris Jericho.”
Pyro went off on the stage.
He said it again and more pyro went off. As Wayne continued to talk about how good it felt, he reminded everyone he beat Jericho, and pyro went off again; only this time, it began the entrance of Jericho! Wayne stopped the music and wouldn’t let anyone sing. He said they don’t need the pyro or Jericho. They need a reminder of what it meant to beat Chris Jericho. Wayne threw to a video package set to “Superman” by Five for Fighting, a song that came out five years before Wayne was born.
Wayne asked what Jericho thought, and Jericho said he picked up some of the things left on the cutting room floor to show how Wayne won, including the use of a low blow. Wayne didn’t think it was clever and thought it was pathetic that Jericho needed an excuse. Jericho said it’s reality, but now it’s 1-1, so why don’t they have the rubber match at WrestleDream? Wayne said he’s on, but on one condition: when Wayne wins, Jericho has to come back to the ring and apologize. Jericho accepts, but only because Wayne still has lessons to learn.
Wayne reminded Jericho he said he had two reasons to come out here and that was only one. Jericho agreed and said the second reason was that he showed Wayne the video, so he could do this! Jericho kicked Wayne low and told him he’d see him on Saturday, kid!
Tommaso Ciampa & Samoa Joe Are Ready for WrestleDream
Renee Paquette caught up with Tommaso Ciampa and Samoa Joe after the big tag team victory over AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo and AEW World Champion Will Ospreay.
Ciampa didn’t hesitate. “In Paris, I left Andrade unconscious. In Cleveland, I left Andrade unconscious. What do you think is going to happen at WrestleDream when that National Title is on the line?”
Renee then turned to Joe, who is set to enter Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream with one spot still remaining in the match. “How do you think this is all going to go on Saturday?”
Joe was measured and direct. “I think we’ve already seen how it’s going to go. On Dynamite, I give you all the gift of clairvoyance. I give you a preview of the future. Just like Andrade tonight, each and every competitor in Clockwork Carnage will be choked out and done. Tonight, I set my sights on finding out who the final participant is. There are no gentlemen here. You’re all active targets.”
Dani Luna & Hyan def. TBS & CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone & Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.
Hyan took Persephone out with a dropkick to the corner at the bell. Luna and Baker faced off on the floor, so Hyan came out to back up her partner. That gave Persephone the chance to fly through the ropes to take out Hyan! Persephone piefaced Luna, who went right after Persephone. Back in the ring, Hyan hit a diving crossbody on Persephone. She took her down again and tagged Luna, who slammed Hyan onto Persephone before covering for a two-count.
Luna held Persephone in the ropes, but when Hyan hit the ropes on the other side, Baker grabbed her from the floor. Persephone took the opportunity to nail a backbreaker on Hyan before Baker hit Hyan with a neckbreaker on the floor! Hyan remained in trouble until she got free of Baker long enough to tag Luna! She unloaded on Persephone, who also tagged in, before hitting Baker with a big boot on the apron. Luna knocked Persephone down with a dropkick from the second rope. Luna returned to the corner for a superplex on Baker and followed with a powerbomb on Persephone for a near-fall!
Persephone stopped Luna and threw her to the ropes, where Hyan made a blind tag. Luna went for a boot on Persephone, who blocked it and folded Luna over with a bridging German Suplex, but there was no count because of the tag. Persephone complained and was crushed by a knee strike from Hyan! She hit a Falcon Arrow on Persephone, but Baker came in to choke Hyan with a Terrible Towel! Luna decked Baker with a lariat, but Persephone took Luna down with one of her own.
Persephone rolled Luna up off the ropes for a two-count and was pushed right into a tag from Baker. She missed a short thrust kick on Hyan, who rolled up Baker for a near-fall. Hyan nearly cut Baker in half with a spear, but Baker kicked out! Luna lifted Baker up, but Persephone grabbed Hyan off the apron and slammed her face-first on the commentary desk! Back in the ring, Baker hit a thrust kick, ripcord elbow and spinning neckbreaker for a two-count on Luna! Persephone grabbed the TBS Title, but was stopped by the referee. Baker tried to throw Luna into a belt shot from Persephone, but Luna reversed the whip, and Baker stopped short just in time. However, Luna used that brief window to push Baker into Persephone and rolled up Baker for the three-count! Luna barely had time to celebrate when Persephone attacked from behind. Baker joined her, and they went after Hyan again until Queen Aminata came out to clear the ring!
We learned Persephone will defend the TBS Title against Hyan, Dani Luna and Queen Aminata in a 4-Way Match at WrestleDream!
TNT Championship Match & Clockwork Carnage Qualifier: TNT Champion Darby Allin (c) def. CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechicero of the Don Callis Family
Before the main event, we saw a mysterious video package of a metronome in motion while the hands of a conductor led what sounded like an orchestra, and we saw a pair of feet walking in formal dress before a pair of feet in wrestling boots moved around a ring.
Hechicero charged at the bell, but Allin avoided the attack. Hechicero quickly took Allin down and started to target his knee. Hechicero controlled Allin’s arms, so Allin rolled out of it and kicked Hechicero off the mat. Allin tried to follow up, but Hechicero picked up his leg, and Allin was in trouble once again. Hechicero stretched Allin with a Romero Special before stepping on Allin’s injured left leg. Allin bit Hechicero’s hand and then trapped it in the ring post! Hechicero fought back and pulled Allin off the top turnbuckle to spin him off his shoulders with a sickening thud on the corner of the ring!
Allin remained in major trouble on the floor until Hechicero brought the match back in the ring. Allin tried to fight back, so Hechicero launched him into a submission attempt, only for Allin to trap Hechicero’s shoulders for a near-fall. Allin charged at Hechicero, who lifted Allin high into the air for a flapjack. Hechicero worked over Allin’s fingers and smashed him with a running knee in the corner. Hechicero put Allin on his shoulder and tried to scale the ropes, but Allin got free and tried to get to the mat. Hechicero choked Allin until Allin bit Hechicero’s hand and took him down with an avalanche hurricanrana. Allin rolled through it and jackknifed Hechicero for a two-count.
Hechicero caught Allin with a dragon screw in the ropes and a flying elbow from the top for a near-fall. Hechicero spun Allin around in El Conjuro, but Allin escaped with a crucifix pin for another near-fall! Hechicero missed a running dropkick and bounced off the ropes to land hard on the back of his head. Allin hit a Code Red for a near-fall and went up top for a Coffin Drop, but Hechicero trapped him with body scissors and rolled him around the ring for yet another near-fall!
Allin tried to fight back, but Hechicero followed him to the ropes and choked him from the apron. Allin bent Hechicero’s hand to break the hold and trapped him in the ring skirt. Allin wiped out Hechicero with a torpedo dive before going to the top rope for a Coffin Drop to a standing Hechicero on the floor! He returned Hechicero to the ring for another Coffin Drop! He went up top for one more Coffin Drop and connected to get the pinfall victory! Allin takes the final spot in Clockwork Carnage and retains the TNT Title!
Before he had a chance to celebrate, Kazuchika Okada, Rocky Romero and Lance Archer hit the ring to attack Allin. AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and “Speedball” Mike Bailey hit the ring for the save! Bailey took out Archer with a springboard moonsault to the outside, but in the ring, Okada caught Ospreay with a dropkick. He picked up Ospreay for a Rainmaker, but was interrupted by the music of Adam Copeland! Okada dropped Ospreay and came face-to-face with Copeland. They exchanged until Copeland stuck Okada with an Impaler DDT! Copeland turned right into a springboard clothesline from Ricochet! Speedball came in, but Ricochet took care of him with a Spirit Gun. Ricochet grabbed the AEW World Title and celebrated with it on the second rope until he was pulled down by Konosuke Takeshita. He put Ricochet down with a Blue Thunder Bomb and had his moment with the belt until Samoa Joe hit the ring. Joe got the better of Takeshita only to eat a Hidden Blade from Ospreay! Okada tried to grab Ospreay, but Ospreay floated behind him, and Copeland went to spear Okada, but he moved, and Cope got Ospreay instead! Okada nailed Copeland with The Rainmaker!
Allin was back and dropkicked Okada to the floor. He leaped to the top rope and took out a host of his Clockwork Carnage opponents on the floor before referees came out to stop the chaos, and the night came to a close!
