AEW Collision Preview

AEW Collision is LIVE NATIONWIDE TONIGHT at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on TNT and streaming on HBO Max from the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The fallout from AEW Double or Nothing continues after a jam-packed three hours of Dynamite and Collision with a hot Saturday night of fights in Huntsville, including a pair of championship matches.

New AEW International Champion "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita makes his first title defense against former TNT Champion Daniel Garcia of the Death Riders.

The Conglomeration defends the AEW World Trios Championships against the Don Callis Family, after the Family attacked Orange Cassidy during the Superstation Showcase and The Conglomeration responded by backing up Takeshita against the Family on this past Wednesday's Dynamite. Will Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly be able to fend off the challenge from Lance Archer, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta?

Plus, AEW Continental Champion Jox Moxley and PAC will rep the Death Riders against The Infantry, Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo. TayJay will take on Divine Dominion's five-minute Eliminator Challenge after confronting "Megasus" Megan Bayne and "Colossal" Lena Kross on the Double or Nothing Buy In and picking up a win on Dynamite. However, it was Divine Dominion who took out Tay Melo and Anna Jay later in the night. Can TayJay get revenge and last the five minutes?

STARDOM standout Hazuki makes her highly-anticipated AEW debut against Maya World, with Hazuki's Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament quarterfinal opponent, Persephone, on commentary. Plus, The Gunns face The Dogs, and ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty of Shane Taylor Promotions is in singles action!

Here's everything you need to know heading into this huge edition of Collision in Alabama.

AEW Collision Matches, Preview for Huntsville

AEW International Championship Match: "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs. Daniel Garcia

Takeshita waited a long time to reclaim the AEW International Championship, and he did it in a career-defining moment at Double or Nothing by defeating “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada. Unfortunately, he had little time to enjoy the victory due to a heinous attack by his now-former friend, “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher.

Takeshita wants to fight Fletcher, of course, but tonight, former TNT Champion Daniel Garcia steps up for the first defense of Takeshita's second International Championship reign. And Takeshita cannot let his focus slip against the dangerous Death Rider, who owns the lone victory in their only meeting. It’s a strong test for Takeshita, which should make for a must-see match.

AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong) (c) vs. Don Callis Family (Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta and Lance Archer)

The Don Callis Family want the AEW World Trios Championship back, and tonight, they'll get their chance against The Conglomeration. After the Family attacked Orange Cassidy this past week and cost him a chance to win the Superstation Showcase, The Conglomeration answered by surprising the Family as the backup for new AEW International Champion "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita.

The Conglomeration have already successfully defended the championship against the Family’s combination of Archer, Hechicero and Andrade El Ídolo last month. This time, Archer has RPG Vice by his side, both of whom have plenty of history with The Conglomeration. Who leaves Huntsville with the AEW World Trios Championship?

Five-Minute AEW Women's World Tag Team Title Eliminator Match: Divine Dominion ("Megasus" Megan Bayne and "Colossal" Lena Kross) (c) vs. TayJay (Tay Melo and Anna Jay)

At the Buy In before Double or Nothing, Tay Melo and Anna Jay came together to run off the AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions, Divine Dominion, when Bayne and Kross tried to continue the beatdown of Zayda Steel and Viva Van after turning them away in the Five-Minute Challenge Eliminator. TayJay followed that up with a win over Ava Everett and Allie Katch on Wednesday's special presentation of Collision. But later that night, Lexy Nair ran into Divine Dominion backstage. Kross ominously said, "That only lasted 30 seconds." Bayne offered a simple "Better luck next time," before walking away. Nair then found Melo and Jay laid out, and it was clear what had happened.

Tonight in Huntsville, TayJay will get a chance at revenge and to earn a shot at the gold, if they can survive five minutes against Bayne and Kross. Divine Dominion have been virtually untouchable since winning the titles, turning away every team that has stepped up to challenge them. But after what happened on Wednesday, will TayJay have the motivation needed to do what no other duo has been able to do against the dominant AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions?

Tag Team Match: The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) vs. Death Riders ("The Bastard" PAC and AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley)

PAC and AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley looked quite impressive when they teamed with Will Ospreay to beat The Rascalz this past Wednesday. Tonight, it’ll be a chance for Ospreay to watch and learn when PAC and Mox face The Infantry. Bravo and Dean can’t be in a good mood after losing to The Conglomeration and Boom and Doom at the Buy In last weekend, but how will they handle the Death Riders in this intriguing tag team tussle?

Hazuki vs. Maya World (Persephone on Commentary)

One of the most accomplished competitors in STARDOM history is here! Hazuki makes her AEW in-ring debut tonight in Huntsville against rising star Maya World. But that's not all. Hazuki's upcoming Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament quarterfinal opponent, Persephone, will be on commentary for the match. Hazuki and Persephone have never met one-on-one, so their first meeting will bring an intriguing matchup with high stakes. But first, Hazuki takes on World!

Tag Team Match: The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn) vs. The Dogs (David Finlay and Clark Connors)

After nine months on the shelf, Colten had a successful return to action alongside his brother Austin and the Young Bucks earlier this month on Collision, picking up a win against The Dogs and Death Riders.

Just days ago, Finlay and Connors jumped new AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, making their intentions painfully clear. Of course, they can’t look too far ahead, because The Gunns are former AEW World Tag Team Champions themselves who would love to derail The Dogs’ plans with a big win tonight in Huntsville!

ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty of Shane Taylor Promotions in Action!

Lee Moriarty arrives in Huntsville with more than 670 days under his belt as the ROH Pure Champion and a victory in his last defense against Ace Austin at ROH Supercard of Honor two weeks ago. Can the Shane Taylor Promotions standout continue to build momentum tonight on Collision?
