Coming off the heels of Darby Allin’s AEW World Championship victory over MJF in front of friends and family last night on AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru, we were right back in Everett, Washington, for AEW Collision Spring BreakThru on TBS and HBO Max!
In the main event, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla retained her championship over Alex Windsor when she knocked out Windsor with brass knuckles before stomping her for the victory.
The night began with a bruised Adam Copeland promising FTR that he and Christian Cage aren't going anywhere. FTR and RPG Vice attacked Cope until the Young Bucks made the save! The Bucks then beat The Rascalz in a fantastic match only to be blindsided by David Finlay and Clark Connors, who laid out both the Bucks and The Rascalz.
In front of his hometown, ROH World TV Champion Nick Wayne pushed AEW Continental Champion into the final five minutes of an Eliminator match before Moxley put him away with a Death Rider. The new AEW World Trios Champions, The Conglomeration, fended off The Lethal Twist. And in other Trios action, Brody King teamed with Místico and Máscara Dorada with Bandido back in Mexico training ahead of next month’s big Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor show.
All that and so much more went down on this special edition of Collision! What a way to close out an historic week of action! Here are your complete results!
AEW Collision Recap Tonight for Everett
AEW National Champion Jack Perry Wants the Don Callis Family!
Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) def. The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed)
Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander def. Big Anne & Danika Della Rouge
AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley (c) def. ROH World TV Champ Nick Wayne
Brody King, Máscara Dorada & Místico def. Cole Rivera, KC Riff & Ricky Gibson
Young Bucks Save Cope from FTR and RPG Vice Attack
We began our night with the Rated R Superstar Adam Copeland, who was sporting a black eye and plenty of bruises from the AEW World Tag Team Title match loss to FTR at Dynasty. Cope took a second to soak in all the love from the crowd singing his theme despite the disappointing result for him and Christian Cage over the weekend.
Cope admitted he was bruised and battered, but also said FTR did what they said they were going to do. Cage isn’t here tonight because he’s getting checked for a broken forearm. Cope acknowledged FTR’s proclamation that Cage and Cope won’t get another AEW World Tag Team Title shot, and while he said he had something cooking for that, he made a point to say that this is about more than titles. Cage was forced to retire for seven years, and he made it back. Cope was out of action for a decade, and he made it back. Cope said they aren’t going anywhere, and they will end FTR!
FTR and Stoke started making their way to the ring, but with Cope looking towards the ramp, Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero attacked Cope from behind. FTR and Stoke joined in, and Cope was completely outnumbered until the Young Bucks came out to make the save! They superkicked FTR out of the ring, and then Beretta got isolated by the Bucks with superkicks followed by a spear from Cope! Cope shook the hands of Matt and Nick Jackson to thank them for their help.
AEW National Champion Jack Perry Wants the Don Callis Family!
Perry said he got a taste for what it was like to defend the AEW National Championship for the first time against Mark Davis at Dynasty Zero Hour, and he liked it. But because the Callis Family has caused issues for the Young Bucks, Perry told Callis to provide his biggest and baddest to face him for the AEW National Title next week!
Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) def. The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed)
The Bucks remained at ringside after what happened with Cope, FTR and RPG Vice, and Wentz and Reed entered accompanied by Dezmond Xavier. Nick and Wentz began the match, but it was Nick getting an early advantage so he could tag in Matt for a double-team neckbreaker. Reed came in and got the same treatment on an assisted sunset flip. The Bucks punished Wentz in the corner with repeated double-teams and then Nick ran across the ring to deliver a lungblower to Reed.
Reed turned things around when he ran the Bucks into each other and then escaped their attempts to stop him from making a tag. Wentz came in and quickly picked apart the Bucks, sending them to the outside. Reed and Wentz hit stereo dives on the Bucks, and then the Rascalz returned to the ring so Reed could springboard Wentz over the top back onto the Bucks! In the ring, the Rascalz hit an assisted neckbreaker on Matt. Nick tried to fight them off, but Reed hit him with a Stundog Millionaire and kicked him right as Wentz executed a German Suplex! Nick kicked out of a pin. The Rascalz were in control in this high-speed tag team matchup!
Nick finally turned things around with a head scissors/armdrag combo on Wentz and Reed. Matt caught Wentz for a Northern Lights Suplex and rolled through multiple times until Reed came in and Matt grabbed him to execute a double German Suplex! The Bucks started picking up momentum by running bulldogs out of opposite corners. With Wentz and Reed down, the Bucks went up to opposite turnbuckles and came down with a senton/elbow drop combo. Matt pinned Wentz, but he kicked out just in time. The Bucks reversed a whip to trip up The Rascalz and put them in stereo Sharpshooters! They reached the ropes to break the hold. The Bucks called for a Superkick Party, but Reed was able to block a kick and throw one back at the Bucks. Reed avoided another kick and hit a cutter on Nick out of nowhere. Matt cut off Reed with a spear, and Wentz took down Nick with a cutter from the top. Reed jumped over the top and brought Nick from the apron to the floor with a flying cutter!
Back in the ring, Wentz hit a skytwister senton on Matt, and Reed followed with a 450 splash, but Nick came in to break up the pin in the nick of time! With Reed on the top rope, Matt was being held up by Wentz, but Nick broke that up and joined Reed on the top rope. He took Reed down with a super hurricanrana! Wentz ate a pair of Superkicks! The Bucks hit the BTE Trigger on Reed, but Wentz pushed the pin to break it up. The Bucks caught Wentz on a tornillo attempt, but he quickly turned it around for a near-fall on Matt. Wentz popped up and clotheslined Nick over the top before superkicking Matt. Nick moonsaulted from the apron onto Reed on the floor and got back on the apron as Matt picked up Wentz for the flipping piledriver. The Bucks connected and pinned Wentz for the victory!
The Bucks had no time to celebrate, as Clark Connors and David Finlay of The Dogs hit the ring to attack the Bucks and The Rascalz, including Dezmond Xavier, who ran out to help. They absolutely decimated all five men, and Finlay got the mic. He said they might be down a Dog, but if you want to kill them, you’ll have to kill all of them. The numbers may change, but the mission stays the same. They want bodies, and they want gold! Connors said this was a message to the entire tag team division. “You’re all about to get screwed.”
Divine Dominion Stand High Above All
We took a special look at the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions “Megasus” Megan Bayne and “Colossal” Lena Kross, who are dominating the tag team division and seem to have everyone bowing down before them.
AEW World Trios Championship Eliminator Match: The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly def. The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson)
Lethal and O’Reilly opened this Eliminator match with O’Reilly getting an early near-fall. Cassidy tagged in, with his glasses still on for some double-team work, but it was O’Reilly who hit a kick so Cassidy could go for the pin. Lethal kicked out at one. Lethal’s bald head slipped out of Cassidy’s grasp, so Cassidy tagged Strong, and he ran right over to go after Johnson, who had just tagged in. Strong punished him in the corner, and then he and O’Reilly turned their attention to Lethal, as O’Reilly came off the top with a knee to Lethal as he was bent over Strong’s knee. Strong did the same to Johnson, but Cassidy slowly worked his way down from the top rope to drop an elbow. Finally, Cassidy took off the glasses, and Christian tagged in.
Christian blocked Cassidy from putting his hands in his pockets, so Cassidy caught him in a hammerlock, spun Christian around, and put Christian’s hands in Cassidy’s pockets! Christian pushed him away, so Cassidy put his own hands in his pocket. The two traded reversals until Cassidy hit a Stundog Millionaire. Johnson came in to distract the ref, while Lethal ran around to The Conglomeration’s corner and pulled O’Reilly off the apron.
Meanwhile, Christian had Cassidy caught in the tree of woe, so Strong came over to help, but Christian caught him in a head-vice so Johnson could kick him to the floor. With Cassidy still hung upside down, Christian hit him with a swinging side pendulum kick to the head while Johnson delivered a dropkick to Cassidy’s chest. Christian moonsaulted off the second turnbuckle onto Strong, who was just getting up off the floor. Johnson flipped Christian into Cassidy for a clothesline. The Lethal Swirl took the opportunity to strut, as they had taken full control of the match.
Cassidy was trapped in the wrong corner for an extended period until he finally broke loose of Christian to make a tag to Strong! He cleared house on all three of his opponents. Strong lifted Christian to his shoulder and threw him into Johnson for a forced dropkick and then brought Christian back down on his knee for a backbreaker! Strong sent Lethal over the top to the floor and then used Cassidy as a weapon on Christian and Johnson in opposite corners before throwing Cassidy into Johnson for a DDT! Strong covered Christian, but Lethal broke up the pin.
Lethal tagged in, Strong sent him to the outside, and then tagged O’Reilly. O’Reilly ran down the apron and delivered a flying knee to Lethal. O’Reilly lit up Johnson with strikes and kicks and then tried the same on Lethal, but Lethal leg whipped O’Reilly down to try for a figure four, only for O’Reilly to cradle him for a near-fall. Johnson and Christian dropped O’Reilly with a brainbuster/corkscrew kick combination, which allowed Lethal to hit the King’s Elbow from the top. Cassidy broke up the pin just in time! Cassidy and Christian went back and forth with light kicks until they exchanged big shots. Strong broke it up, but got kicked by Johsnon. O’Reilly fought off a double-team by Johnson and Christian until Lethal came in, and the numbers were too much. Lethal trapped O’Reilly in a figure four until Strong powerbombed Christian into Lethal to break it up!
Johnson tagged in and nailed O’Reilly with a high kick in the corner. He put Johnson in an ankle lock while Strong took out Lethal with a high knee, and Cassidy laid out Christian with an Orange Punch. Johnson tapped out! The Conglomeration wins!
Is Anthony Bowens in The Opps?
Bowens confronted HOOK backstage and asked whether he was in The Opps. HOOK said he’ll tell him next week because he is the boss of The Opps, and what he says goes. Bowens accepted that and walked away. HOOK continued to talk about a coffee shop that he couldn’t stop raving about to Katsuyori Shibata, who was manning the camera.
Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander def. Big Anne & Danika Della Rouge
Statlander handled Della Rouge with relative ease in the early going, with Della Rouge eating a turnbuckle off a catapult by Statlander. Anne tagged in, and Statlander immediately got her to the corner for a leaping elbow and running forearm. Shida tagged in, although Statlander didn’t seem ready for it. Statlander and Shida stacked up Anne and DDR in the corner, with Shida taking them both down with a running knee. Shida hit a knee lift from the floor to DDR on the apron. Shida followed with a Falcon Arrow on DDR, but decided to tag in Statlander with a boop on the noggin, who was once again caught off guard. Statlander finished DDR with Staturday Night Fever to get the pinfall victory!
AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley (c) def. ROH World TV Champ Nick Wayne
As Renee Paquette reported, this was Wayne’s first match back in an AEW ring in six months, although he has won his first three matches back in ROH over the last month as he comes up on one year as ROH World TV Champion tomorrow!
Wayne came out with Mother Wayne, in front of a familiar crowd, as Wayne had some homefield advantage being from Seattle. Of course, neither she nor the Death Riders were allowed at ringside under Continental Rules.
The crowd was red-hot for Wayne, who immediately went to the floor at the bell to soak it in with the fans. He did it again, and Moxley didn’t seem too impressed by the early festivities. Wayne sent a message with a stiff forearm off a rope break and then added a couple more big shots. He made the mistake of taunting Moxley, so Moxley floored him with a chop. Moxley continued to punish Wayne and unloaded on him with 10 punches in the corner. Wayne turned things around with a diving elbow off a reverse. Wayne stomped Moxley twice and then wiped his boot over Moxley in a clear act of young foolishness. Moxley went to the floor to collect himself and returned to the ring with a handshake offer, which Wayne accepted and immediately regretted when Moxley pulled him into a piledriver!
After punishing Wayne for his bravado, now it was Moxley barking at Wayne as he grinded him down with submissions on the mat. Wayne came back with boots to a charging Mox and followed with a second-rope dropkick. Wayne and Moxley exchanged shots as the 10-minute warning was announced. Wayne put Mox down with a sliced bread for a near-fall. Wayne got out of a full nelson and then put one on Mox. He escaped and nailed Wayne with a forearm. Wayne kicked away another and then nailed a crescent kick on Mox. Mox fired back with a clothesline, putting Wayne on the mat. He picked him back up, but Wayne slipped behind Mox for a Dragon Suplex and then a Code Red! Moxley just kicked out in time!
Wayne took too long gathering himself, and Mox came back with a cutter! Mox kicked away at Wayne and then bit his head! Wayne got away and spat at Moxley! He knocked Moxley to the outside with a high roundhouse kick. Wayne went to the top and smashed Moxley with a moonsault on the floor! Wayne threw Moxley back in and tried for Wayne’s World, but Moxley caught him in a choke and switched to a piledriver position. Wayne escaped with a jackknife and nearly pinned Moxley! Wayne hit Moxley with a kick to the right eye, and Moxley was cut wide open! Moxley stumbled to the mat, but when Wayne grabbed him, Moxley flipped him over into a Bulldog Choke. Wayne tried to get to the ropes, but Moxley stayed on him and eventually let him go with five minutes remaining. Wayne had one more flurry until Moxley dropped him with the Death Rider and pinned him for the win. Moxley added a few push-ups after the match to show he still had plenty in the tank.
Okada Still Wants Takeshita Because He’s a Champion
Lexy Nair caught up with Don Callis and AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada to ask whether the agreement was still in place: if Okada and Konosuke Takeshita tag together at Dynasty, they would get to face each other for the AEW International Championship at Double or Nothing. Callis said after reviewing the tape and Takeshita’s actions, it was clear Takeshita did not abide by the terms of the agreement, so the match does not have to happen, and Don could get him out of it. Okada said no, because he wanted this match.
“I am a champion! Unlike Takeshita.”
PAC of the Death Riders def. Lio Rush
It’s not usual that someone can have a more unsettling entrance than PAC surrounded by the Death Riders, but Rush isn’t usual, and his crawl to the ring while speaking to himself and his opponent is downright creepy. Even PAC and the Death Riders seemed a bit shaken by it.
Rush continued to have a conversation with himself in the corner as the bell rang, so PAC cautiously went up to him. When PAC tried a big kick, Rush rose suddenly. PAC hit a kick to Rush’s gut, and he seemed to yell himself back into the match. PAC had trouble keeping a hold of Rush, and every time he connected with a kick or strike, Rush almost fed off it. Rush hit a kick that sent PAC to the floor and chased after him. He ended up tackling Garcia and choking him until PAC broke it up. PAC stomped Rush at the base of the barricade and returned to the ring to break the count, which allowed Garcia to get some shots in. PAC returned to the floor and hit Rush with a tombstone piledriver!
Despite Rush’s odd cries of pain, PAC remained in control and did his best to grind Rush down to control the pace of the match. Rush started fighting back and charged PAC, but PAC launched him headfirst into the turnbuckles. PAC went to the top for Black Arrow, when Rush popped up all of a sudden, leaving PAC perplexed. He went back down to the mat and ate a flurry from Rush. Rush knocked PAC to the floor and crawled around the ring to gain some steam before diving out onto PAC! He threw PAC back in and reversed a whip into a rebound stunner for a two-count!
Rush got on PAC’s back with a choke, so PAC smashed him into the corner to break it. Rush came back with a poisonrana for a near-fall! Rush hit a stunner and held on with a cravat, so Garcia got on the apron. Rush let go of PAC and stood up to Garcia, but that allowed PAC to hit a German Suplex. PAC destroyed Rush with the momentum lariat and put HIM to sleep with a smile on his face, thanks to the Brutalizer! PAC gets the win!
After the match, we took a look at the life and heroics of ROH World Champion Bandido. He is The Most Wanted!
Brody King, Máscara Dorada & Místico def. Cole Rivera, KC Riff & Ricky Gibson
With Bandido in Mexico training ahead of next month’s Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor, he had asked his friends Místico and Dorada to have King’s back in Washington.
Gibson made the mistake of hitting King first from behind before the bell and was quickly chopped down. Rivera got the same treatment. Riff came in and got triple-teamed by King, Dorada and Mistico in the corner. With Riff down on the outside, Dorada went over the top with a tornillo to take him out! King fired up the crowd, as Gibson was sent back in to get a Gonzo Bomb from King, who scored the pinfall for the quick win!
Mina Shirakawa Doesn’t Trust Hikaru Shida
Lexy Nair was with the victorious pair of Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida, but said someone had requested their time. Shirakawa came in and told Statlander, sorry but she had to talk to Shida. Shirakawa heard everything said by Shida in Japanese about Harley Cameron and saw her kendo stick at the scene of Toni Storm’s crime! She said she doesn’t trust Shida, and they got into a shoving match until Statlander got between them.
How Darby Allin Became AEW World Champion
We took a look back at the events of Dynamite, where AEW World Champion MJF arrived completely unaware he was supposed to face Darby Allin for the AEW World Title … to begin the show! He successfully got the match delayed to the main event, but Darby promised to beat him with a headlock takeover.
After a surprise appearance from Sting and some encouraging words, Allin went out and overcame a low blow to hit one of his own before putting MJF on the mat with a Scorpion Death Drop and crushing him with FOUR Coffin Drops. And as promised, Allin pinned MJF with a headlock takeover to win the AEW World Title!
AEW Women’s World Championship Match: “The Toxic Spider” Thekla (c) def. NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Alex Windsor of Brawling Birds
For the second night in a row, we had a World Championship on the line in the main event. At the bell, Thekla bailed from the ring and ran from Windsor, but it was just a ploy to get Windsor to chase her back to the ring. Windsor quickly turned things back around and chopped Thekla on the ropes. Thekla went to the apron on the other side and got some separation from Windsor, but she missed a stomp from the top rope, and Windsor dropped her again with a big clothesline. Windsor threw Thekla across the ring with a suplex and followed with a Russian Leg Sweep/sitting clothesline combo for a two-count. Thekla bailed to the outside to avoid a Sharpshooter, so Windsor chased her around the apron. Thekla swung Windsor’s leg to send her face-first into the apron. Thekla followed with a trip to the barricade for Windsor. That allowed her to go up top and come down on Windsor with a crossbody!
Thekla continued the punishment with the ropes and a tarantula until the referee broke the hold. She hit Windsor with a stiff kick and continued the punishment in the corner. Thekla tried to send Windsor to the opposite corner, but Windsor stopped her and changed direction to confuse Thekla before connecting with a flying headbutt. Windsor tried for another Sharpshooter, but Thekla kicked out of it, so Windsor went to a Blue Thunder Bomb, and Thekla kicked out! Windsor and Thekla traded huge shot until Windsor knocked Thekla down to the mat. She finally locked in the Sharpshooter, so Thekla had to crawl to the ropes to break the hold. Thekla locked in an octopus, and now it was Windsor who had to go to the ropes. Thekla folded Windsor over with a kick, but Windsor came back with a desperation clothesline.
Windsor went to the top, but Thekla hit a strike and met Windsor on the top. Thekla put her thumbs in Windsor’s eyes, so the referee tried to break it up. While he was distracted, Thekla pulled brass knuckles out of somewhere, but when she tried to use them, Windsor blocked her. Windsor tried for a sunset flip, but Thekla held on and blasted Windsor with the brass knuckles out of the referee’s vision. Thekla hid the brass knuckles in the apron and stomped Windsor to get the pinfall victory and successful AEW Women’s World Championship defense!
Thekla flipped over into her spider pose to bring Collision to a close!
