AEW Dynamite Preview: Kenny Omega's AEW World Title Celebration, Mercedes Moné & Willow Nightingale Meet in Trios Action, Andrade vs. Jake Doyle, More

AEW Dynamite is LIVE TONIGHT to begin a big week at MGM Music Hall in Boston, Massachusetts, on TBS and HBO Max at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT! With AEW Redemption in Montreal just 11 days away and AEW All In: London 46 days out, the pressure is on, although for NEW AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, tonight will be a celebration.

Omega won the AEW World Title for the second time last Wednesday at Dynamite Beach Break, defeating MJF in what otherwise would have been his final opportunity at the championship, and tonight, he celebrates his new reign LIVE on TBS in front of the world! Boston will also host the 2026 Women’s Owen Cup winner and hometown CEO, Mercedes Moné, who steps into a trios match alongside AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion against Willow Nightingale, Maya World and Hyan. Plus, Andrade El Ídolo wants to take all the gold from the Don Callis Family, but to earn an AEW National Title match against Mark Davis, he’ll have to get past the dangerous and powerful Jake Doyle tonight.

Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship Celebration 

Kenny Omega is the AEW World Champion for the second time, and tonight, he celebrates LIVE on TBS in Boston. It took 1,698 days, but Omega regained the title he first won in December 2020 and last held in November 2021 after finally beating MJF following two unsuccessful tries. How will Omega transition from challenger to reigning AEW World Champion, especially with a potential showdown against 2026 Men’s Owen Cup Winner Will Ospreay looming at All In: London? And will anyone throw a roadblock into Omega’s road to All In?

Willow Nightingale, Maya World & Hyan vs. 2026 Owen Cup Champion Mercedes Moné & AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion ("Megasus" Megan Bayne and "Colossal" Lena Kross)

The 2025 and 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Champion, Mercedes Moné, is in her hometown of Boston tonight, and she’ll be in action after Willow Nightingale issued the challenge this past weekend on Collision. That challenge came after Moné laid out both AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla and Thekla’s AEW Redemption opponent, Nightingale, following Nightingale's surprising and victorious return in the Casino Gauntlet match at Beach Break, with Moné enlisting Divine Dominion's muscle in the attack. Tonight, though, Willow has Maya World and Hyan by her side. With both Redemption and All In fast approaching, this showdown has big implications for everyone involved.

Andrade El Ídolo vs. Don Callis Family's Jake Doyle (If Andrade Wins, He Earns a Shot at AEW National Champion Mark Davis)

Andrade cut ties with the Don Callis Family at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, and after broken championship promises from Callis, Andrade wants their gold. Tonight, he gets a chance to earn an AEW National Title match with Mark Davis if he can beat Jake Doyle. But Doyle has his own motivation: He wants payback for the low blow Andrade delivered in the Death's Door match at Forbidden Door that helped solidify Andrade’s exit from the Don Callis Family. Will Andrade take his first step toward his golden goals? Or will Doyle get a measure of revenge for himself and the Don Callis Family by ruining Andrade’s plans?

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Christian Cage & Adam Copeland (c) vs. Death Riders (Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta)

We haven’t seen Cope since he and Bang Bang Gang were on the wrong side of a beatdown by The Dogs and Death Riders two weeks ago on Collision, on a night where Cage wasn’t in the building. The AEW World Tag Team Champions are both back tonight and are looking for revenge. As fighting champions, Cage and Cope issued a challenge to Garcia and Yuta, who are coming off a dominant victory in an 8-man tag over the weekend on Collision. Garcia and Yuta can bring more gold to the Death Riders, but they’ll have to beat a legendary pair to do so. Tonight, Cage and Cope put the AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against the Death Riders in Boston!

Darby Allin vs. “The Machine” Brian Cage of the Don Callis Family

Just an hour before Dynamite, Darby Allin joined Tony Khan’s preshow live stream to request a match with Brian Cage as he continues to battle through the Don Callis Family to get a shot at TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight. Allin’s request stems from Cage’s post-match attack on Allin after he defeated another member of the Callis Family, Trent Beretta, this past Saturday on Collision. Of course, Cage was likely looking for some retribution on Allin after Andrade and Allin worked together to blow up a skateboard in Cage’s face at Beach Break. Can Allin handle the powerful Cage without looking ahead to Knight? What does The Machine have in store for Allin?

AEW International Championship Match: “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Komander

Fletcher wanted to be a fighting champion, so tonight, he’ll have his first defense of the AEW International Championship he won from Konosuke Takeshita last week at Beach Break. Fletcher will put his title on the line against former ROH World TV Champion Komander, who successfully returned to action in a trios match at Brawl at the Ballpark over the weekend. Fletcher is 2-0 against Komander in singles matches, with the last victory coming in a TNT Title defense last September. Komander has been racking up impressive wins in CMLL, and now, he’ll have a chance to win his first AEW gold! The AEW International Championship is up for grabs tonight on Dynamite!
