AEW Dynamite Preview for 7/2/25

AEW Dynamite celebrates its landmark 300th episode tonight, live from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, airing at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on TBS and Max. With AEW All In: Texas rapidly approaching, tonight's card is packed with championship matches, blockbuster battles, and special Heroes vs. Villains matchups, presented by the upcoming "Superman" movie.

Mercedes Moné defends her AEW TBS Championship against Mina Shirakawa just days ahead of Moné challenging AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm at All In: Texas, Kazuchika Okada and Kota Ibushi go head-to-head for the first time ever in AEW, the #2 spot in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet at All In will be determined, and much more.

Here’s your full AEW Dynamite preview for July 2, 2025.

AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné vs. Mina Shirakawa

Ahead of her massive AEW Women's World Title opportunity at AEW All In: Texas, Mercedes Moné puts her TBS Championship on the line against Mina Shirakawa.

Moné has been taunting world champion Toni Storm for weeks – enjoying a ringside meal during Storm’s match at Summer Blockbuster, attacking her last week, and overall reveling in telling Storm how much she’ll enjoy beating her at All In.

Shirakawa adds fuel to the fire, given her close relationship with Storm. Shirakawa has attempted to even the odds when Moné has ambushed Storm, leading to Mina issuing this challenge to Mercedes for tonight’s Dynamite. But Shirakawa has also made Storm promise that she won’t get involved no matter what happens in this match.

First Time Ever in AEW: Kazuchika Okada vs. Kota Ibushi

Longtime rivals collide for the very first time in an AEW ring when AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada faces Kota Ibushi.

Following Ibushi’s recent return to AEW to support Kenny Omega in the wake of Okada’s brutal attack and alignment with the Don Callis Family at the contract signing for the AEW Unified Title Match at AEW All In, these two will step into the ring to face off one-on-one. This personal and intense matchup promises technical brilliance, explosive action and fierce determination to deal damage to the other man. Of course, there’s always the looming threat of the Don Callis Family — but Ibushi clearly has friends of his own in those who are aligned against the Family, such as Mark Briscoe.

4-Way Match for #2 Spot in Men’s Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In: Texas

Four of AEW's top talents compete tonight to earn the coveted second entry position in the Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In: Texas. Brody King, MJF, Anthony Bowens, and AR Fox each bring unique styles and ambitions to this high-stakes contest.

The winner of the Casino Gauntlet in Dallas receives an opportunity at the AEW World Championship, and that Casino Gauntlet match can end at any time with a single fall. So being one of the first two wrestlers in the ring is quite the advantage, as it allows the early entrants to potentially end the match early and secure their chance at gold.

Heroes vs. Villains Tag Team Match: Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay vs. The Beast Mortos & Dralístico

Presented by the upcoming "Superman" film, tonight features a special Heroes vs. Villains tag team matchup. AEW fan favorites Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay join forces against the sinister alliance of LFI’s The Beast Mortos and Dralistico.

Swerve and Ospreay have had their hands full with the Death Riders and Young Bucks of late, while LFI has been making its presence felt on both Dynamite and Collision across singles, tag and trios competition. Can Swerve and Ospreay keep their eye on the team in front of them, knowing that their enemies will almost certainly be watching?

Heroes vs. Villains Trios Match: Bandido, Roderick Strong & Kyle O'Reilly vs. Konosuke Takeshita & The Young Bucks

Another explosive Heroes vs. Villains encounter pits ROH World Champion Bandido alongside Paragon’s Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly against the formidable trio of Konosuke Takeshita and The Young Bucks (EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson). With factions intertwining and personal rivalries intensifying on the road to Texas, this match is set to deliver non-stop excitement.
