AEW Dynamite Tonight: Preview for July 23 in Chicago

AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page vs. Wheeler Yuta

Undoubtedly still feeling the effects of surviving an all-out war with Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match at AEW All In: Texas, AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page steps back into the ring tonight in Chicago for a one-on-one battle with Wheeler Yuta.

This latest showdown follows last week’s Dynamite, where Page and Yuta clashed in a high-octane Trios match that also involved Yuta’s fellow Death Riders Claudio Castagnoli and Moxley himself. Then on Saturday night at Collision, Moxley delivered a brutal warning shot — viciously assaulting Chicago native and longtime friend of Hangman Colt Cabana in front of his hometown fans, hanging him with a chain in much the same way Hangman did to Mox in Arlington.

Now, with tension continuing to boil between the Death Riders and the newly crowned World Champion, Yuta will look to strike a blow on behalf of his side. But Page has never been one to back down from a fight, especially not with AEW’s top prize slung over his shoulder. Expect fists to fly in the Aragon Ballroom.

AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match: “Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Billie Starkz

AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm will face Billie Starkz tonight in a high-stakes Eliminator Match, where a victory for Starkz would guarantee her a future shot at the title.

Storm has been embroiled in a war of words with ROH Women’s World Champion Athena since Athena won the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match at All In: Texas. The two exchanged jabs across Dynamite and Collision last week, culminating in Athena taunting Storm from the balcony on Saturday night, only to be literally chased off by Storm.

For Storm, tonight is about sending a message to both Starkz (who is Athena’s “minion”) and Athena. For Starkz, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime to beat the AEW Women’s World Champion and earn her way into the title picture, while perhaps doing some of the dirty work for the Forever Champion as well.
