AEW Dynamite Results

AEW Dynamite was LIVE from Las Vegas, Nevada, on TBS and HBO Max! And the pursuit of the AEW World Championship was once again in the spotlight just 10 days from AEW Grand Slam Australia!

In the main event, Brody King pinned the AEW World Champion, MJF, in an AEW World Title Eliminator, in a shockingly quick, one-sided affair after MJF was distracted by “Hangman” Adam Page at the bell. That means King gets his first shot at the AEW World Championship against MJF at Grand Slam Australia!

Andrade El Ídolo will also be heading to Grand Slam Australia after he beat Kenny Omega, which included an unfortunately timed appearance by Swerve Strickland. At Grand Slam Australia, Andrade will vie for an AEW World Championship match at AEW Revolution against “Hangman” Adam Page, after Page dealt with a big problem in Mark Davis and came away with a victory of his own.

Plus, the Don Callis Family got a big win over the Death Riders and set the stage for Jon Moxley to defend the AEW Continental Championship against Konosuke Takeshita at Grand Slam Australia. And with a win by Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford over the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, The Babes of Wrath, “MegaBad” will face Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron with the titles on the line at Grand Slam Australia.

Meanwhile, AEW National Champion Ricochet retained his title in a rematch with “Jungle” Jack Perry that saw involvement from GOA and the Young Bucks. And Darby Allin had a rough time in Las Vegas thanks to Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors.

All that and much more went down on Dynamite! Here are your complete results!

AEW Dynamite Recap Tonight for Las Vegas

We Hear From the Champions and Contenders in Action!

AEW World Champion MJF wondered why he was supposed to be afraid of Brody King, because he’s from New York and he sees people like King all the time. He calls them homeless, which is exactly where King will end up after the main event.

King said in the main event, he’s going to hurt MJF…bad. And for the first time in MJF’s life, he won’t be able to talk his way out of it.

Kenny Omega said that one more week is another step closer to reclaiming AEW  Championship gold. This week, it’s Andrade El Ídolo, and Omega hasn’t forgotten about the cowardly attack that happened months ago, which Don Callis orchestrated. Omega said Callis’ efforts to end his career will remain impotent. He’ll see Andrade in the ring tonight.

“Don Callis and the Don Callis Family Present: Dynamite.” Callis said that’s what it sounds like to him, because Konosuke Takeshita will take the next step in his quest to become AEW Continental Champion by leaving the Death Riders lying in the trios match tonight. Callis continued to say that the same will happen to “Hangman” Adam Page when he faces Mark Davis. And then, Omega will be in the ring with a real man in Andrade, who will stomp a hole and leave him for dead.

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Babes of Wrath, Harley Cameron and TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, were ready to face Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford in an AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Eliminator match, as Cameron said MegaBad wasn’t ready to feel the wrath! Nightingale said they are living their dreams and that every night they have to fight for them. “So tonight, in the middle of LAAAAAAAS VEGAS, let’s fight!”

Ford pointed to Bayne and said we were looking at a woman who leaves a trail of dead bodies. Bayne said Ford was on the sidelines for months and saw women beneath her get a shot.

“Babes! Tonight, you are looking at the end.”

Trios Match: The Don Callis Family (“The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita, El Clon and “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander) def. Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, PAC and Daniel Garcia)

Our opening contest had the crowd at a fever pitch even before the bell rang! Alexander and Garcia started things off for their respective sides on the mat. Alexander tried to strike his way through Garcia, only for Garcia to shoulder tackle Alexander back to his corner. PAC and El Clon tagged in to give us a fresh matchup. PAC and Clon traded unreal reversals out of head-scissors combos until Clon connected with a stiff kick from an unexpected angle that stunned PAC. Moxley tagged in, so Takeshita did the same, and these two rivals were going at it! A strike battle turned into an exchange of shoulder tackles with no advantage, so all six men piled into the ring until the Death Riders isolated Takeshita by sending Clon and Alexander to the outside.

Takeshita got caught in the Death Riders’ corner, as Moxley and PAC made quick tags to punish Takeshita. Moxley and Garcia knocked Alexander and Clon off the apron, but when PAC charged at Takeshita, he backdropped PAC over the top to the floor! Takeshita knocked Moxley to the mat in the opposite corner and tossed a charging Garcia into Moxley with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex! Takeshita just handled all three members of the Death Riders! Takeshita tagged Clon, who lit PAC up with a quick succession of kicks. Clon elevated up and over PAC and leaned back to connect with a Pele kick. PAC bounced Clon off the ropes for a German suplex and took time to gather himself before getting a head of steam for a lariat that was stopped by a trip from Alexander. Clon took advantage with a step-up moonsault, and Alexander yanked PAC out of the ring to continue the damage.

PAC struggled to get away from the Callis Family for several minutes, as they isolated him effectively. Alexander nearly won the match with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex that got a nearfall. PAC tried to battle out of the opposite corner, but was cut off by Alexander with a rolling senton slam. However, PAC moved away from a guillotine knee drop and finally made the tag to Moxley just as Alexander tagged Takeshita!

Once again, Moxley and Takeshita fired away in the middle of the ring until Moxley ducked a big shot and nailed a back suplex. Takeshita fired back up and put Moxley down with an exploder! This time, Mox fired back up! They resumed striking on their feet until Moxley hit a running dropkick. Alexander came after Moxley, but was thrown to the floor. Clon came off the top rope, but Moxley was waiting with a cutter! Takeshita got back to his feet and put an elbow across Moxley’s head. Moxley floated out of Takeshita’s grasp and tagged Garcia, but stayed in the ring to floor Takeshita with a lariat. Garcia put Takeshita in the Dragon Tamer, which left him wide open for a Moxley stomp to the back of the head! Alexander broke up the pin to save Takeshita! PAC saved Garcia from Alexander, so Clon knocked PAC to the floor and followed a moonsault from the middle rope to the floor! Moxley followed with a tope suicida, sending Alexander into the announce desk!

Back in the ring, Garcia tried for another Dragon Tamer, so Takeshita reversed it into a near-fall. Takeshita missed a clothesline but nailed a Blue Thunder Bomb, and Garcia kicked out again! Garcia cut off Takeshita’s Power Drive with a chop to the chest. He went for body scissors, but Takeshita caught him and turned into the Hitodenashi Driver/Wheelbarrow Suplex combo! Clon and Alexander came back in with quick-strike double-teams to set up Garcia for Takeshita’s Power Drive Knee, which connected! Garcia kicked out at two! What resolve by Garcia! Takeshita yanked Garcia up for Raging Fire and nailed it to get the pinfall victory for the Don Callis Family!

After the match, Moxley and Takeshita exchanged words, and Takeshita gestured for Moxley’s AEW Continental Championship!

Swerve Strickland Remains Focused After His Loss to Andrade

We looked back on Andrade El Ídolo’s victory over Swerve Strickland, which featured an undetected low blow, in the main event of last week’s Dynamite. Then, Renee Paquette was joined by Strickland and Prince Nana. Paquette said last week’s loss took Swerve out of the AEW World Title picture for now, so where is his focus going next? Swerve had Nana answer. He said the focus is still at the top of All Elite Wrestling. Even when they lose, they don’t lose focus.

Will Ospreay’s Journey Back from Neck Surgery

We were treated to an amazing recap of Will Ospreay’s career until he was taken out by the Death Riders last year. We saw Ospreay in the hospital on his way to neck surgery and the aftermath of Ospreay’s journey back to the ring. Excalibur confirmed that Ospreay underwent successful neck surgery, but his return timetable is unknown.

Mixed Tag Match: “Timeless” Toni Storm & Orange Cassidy def. Jordan Oasis & Brittnie Brooks

Oasis offered Cassidy the first shot, which Cassidy took with his usual early-match intensity. Cassidy put his hands in his pockets and offered one back to Oasis, but ducked the shot and nailed Oasis with a dropkick and sprang to his feet. Cassidy put Oasis down with a flying mare and checked on his reflection in Oasis’ bald head before tagging in Storm. Brooks entered and yelled at Storm, so Storm answered with a series of Mongolian chops, followed by a series of hairmares and a German suplex in an amazing display of different styles. Cassidy and Storm did a do-si-do clothesline routine with some dancing to celebrate. Storm sat on the top turnbuckle and stuck Brooks with a nasty tornado DDT! Cassidy hit a spinning DDT of his own on Oasis, which allowed Storm to crush Oasis with a hip attack. She sent Oasis into Cassidy for the Orange Punch, and that was enough for the three-count!

Luther came out to celebrate, but Cassidy had the microphone! He wondered if their mixed tag team hair match against Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta at the Grand Slam of Australia was a good idea. Storm asked why she made this match because her hair is her life. If she’s bald, she’ll look like a boiled egg or an angry penis! She can’t be bald. She’ll look hideous, grotesque…disgusting! Storm broke down in the ring, and Luther covered her with her jacket.

She sprang up and said, “But I am ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm! And you are ‘Freshly Squeezed’ Orange Cassidy! And it’s not going to go down like that! At Grand Slam Australia, one of two things will happen. You (Cassidy) are gonna give Wheeler Yuta a cute little combover. Or I, or I, will make Marina look like MOX!”

Darby Allin Brawls With Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors

Earlier today, we saw Darby Allin arriving in Las Vegas, where Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd met him! Kidd gouged Allin’s eyes, and then lawn darted him into the production truck! As Allin stumbled up, Connors hit him with a tire! They threw Allin in the trunk of a car and sped away!

“Hangman” Adam Page def. Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family

Davis came flying out of the corner with a dropkick at the bell and immediately went to work on Page in the corner. Page fought back and clobbered Davis with a sliding lariat, followed by a short dropkick. Davis got back to his feet to exchange chops with Page and gained a brief advantage until Page sent Davis to the outside with a low bridge. Page flew over the top rope and sent Davis into the announce desk. Page celebrated and tried to throw Davis back in the ring, but Davis countered it, so Page bounced off the bottom ropes and came back with a lariat to Davis’ chest!

Davis reversed a suplex attempt into one of his own and crushed Page in the corner with a lariat that sent Page rolling to the floor. As Page sat in a chair, Davis got a head of steam and annihilated Page with a flying elbow that put him down in a heap on the floor. As Davis continued to dominate in the ring, we learned that Jake Doyle suffered an injury last week on Dynamite and will be out of action, so Davis will continue in the singles ranks.

Davis put Page on the top turnbuckle, but Page escaped with a sunset flip, although he couldn’t bring it through because Davis punched his way free. Page swept Davis’ legs into a sitout powerbomb for a two count! Page hit a pair of springboard clotheslines and tried to powerbomb Davis off the apron, so Davis sat on Page’s chest! Davis tried to crush Page on the floor again, but Page was ready and moved, so Davis crashed into the guardrails. Page climbed up the stairs and nailed a moonsault from a railing to Davis' back in the ringside area!

Page threw Davis back in the ring and went to the top with another moonsault, but Davis kicked out at two! Davis kicked his way out of a Dead Eye and hit a backdrop driver. Davis got Page up for a powerbomb, but Page reversed it into a hurricanrana for a near-fall. Davis hit a series of lariats and an Awful Waffle, but Page kicked out in the nick of time! Davis called for another lariat, but Page came back with one of his own, only for Davis to put Page right back down. Page came back with a Dead Eye for a two-count. He tried for a Buckshot Lariat, so Davis sent him to the opposite apron. Davis grabbed Page on his shoulder, but Page reversed it into a tombstone and dropped Davis on the ramp! Page hit a Buckshot Lariat for the three-count!

Page will now face the winner of Kenny Omega vs. Andrade El Ídolo at AEW Grand Slam Australia in 10 days for a chance to vie for the AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution on March 15 in Los Angeles! Page said he hopes to see Kenny Omega there. And to MJF, if Page wins that match, he will “stomp every future child out of your tiny little balls and win back the World Championship that I never should have lost!”

The Sky is the Limit for “The Jet” Kevin Knight

We took a look at the special talent of Knight, including his trademark wins over Kazuchika Okada and Darby Allin! Knight said he’s the here and now!

Andrade El Ídolo of the Don Callis Family def. Kenny Omega

Andrade bailed to the floor at the bell to confer with Don Callis and Lance Archer. Andrade returned to the ring and got into a chop fight with Omega until Omega sent Andrade to the floor with a rising knee strike! Omega went for a One-Winged Angel on the floor, but Andrade got out of it and suplexed Omega on the floor! Andrade chopped Omega and threw him back in before going to the top. Omega met Andrade on the second rope and nailed a superplex for a near-fall. Omega hit You Can’t Escape, followed by a moonsault for a two-count! Andrade came back with a flying forearm and took his time trying a figure four leglock, so Omega cradled him into a two-count. Andrade hit a pair of rolling suplexes and rolled to the floor for a third on the floor. He acknowledged a row of admirers and hit a tornillo off the turnbuckles to the Omega on the floor! He went back to his admirers to celebrate with some selfies!

Andrade didn’t let up for the next few minutes until Omega fought back by putting a pair of boots in Andrade’s face on a moonsault attempt. Omega missed a running knee, which allowed Andrade to lock on the figure four in the middle of the ring! Omega reversed the move to remove the pressure, so Andrade broke the hold in the ropes. They fought back to their feet until Omega hit a pair of snap dragon suplexes, but on the third attempt, Andrade stopped it, so Omega knocked him into the second turnbuckle. Omega saw the perfect opportunity to hit a V-Trigger that sent Andrade face-first into the turnbuckle! He put Andrade on the top rope and lifted him backwards from the second rope to go for an avalanche One-Winged Angel, but Andrade reversed it into a powerbomb out of the corner. Andrade hit the El Ídolo DDT, but Omega kicked out! Andrade crushed Omega with running knees to the corner, but yet again, Omega kicked out just in time!

Omega avoided Andrade’s attempt at The DM and wound up in another strike battle until Andrade hit a lunging boot. He tried to follow with another, but Omega struck first with a knee! Omega called for another V-Trigger, but Andrade cut him off with a back elbow. Don Callis threw in a screwdriver out of the referee’s sight and then distracted her so Andrade could use it on Omega, but Swerve came out to the ramp and grabbed it! The referee saw this and tried to deal with Swerve, which allowed Andrade to get out of a One-Winged Angel attempt and low blow Omega! Andrade hit The DM on Omega and scored the pinfall! He’ll move on to AEW Grand Slam Australia to face “Hangman” Adam Page for a shot at the AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution!

Omega and Swerve got into an argument that escalated into a shoving match before security stepped in to separate them!

Brody King is Ready for MJF!

We took a look at Brody King’s impressive streak of violence that brought him to tonight’s AEW World Championship Eliminator against AEW World Champion MJF!

AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander Makes Thekla Wait

Next week on Dynamite, Thekla gets a rematch for the AEW Women’s World Championship against Kris Statlander with a stipulation of Statlander’s choosing, so Renee Paquette was backstage with Statlander to get the answer. Statlander said everyone, including Thekla, would have to wait until Saturday to find out the stipulation.

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Match: MegaBad (“Megasus” Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford) def. The Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and TBS Champion Willow Nightingale) (c)

It looked like Ford and Cameron would start the match, but Bayne and Nightingale tagged in, although that was just a trap for Ford to attack Nightingale from behind while Bayne took out Cameron. Nightingale fought through a double-team to clothesline Bayne to the floor. She tagged Cameron and assisted her in a wheelbarrow splash. Nightingale tagged back, but Ford quickly escaped to tag Bayne. Bayne quickly went to work on Nightingale in the corner, but Nightingale turned things around with a dropkick. Nightingale went to the top turnbuckle, so Ford ran over to grab her leg. That allowed Bayne to bring Nightingale down with a hurricanrana! That was impressive! Bayne wasn’t done and nailed a tope suicida to the floor!

Bayne and Ford kept Nightingale away from Cameron for a few minutes until Bayne missed a running boot and Nightingale connected with a desperation pounce! That gave her the opening to tag Cameron, as Bayne tagged Ford! Cameron unloaded on Ford with a slingblade and strikes before a backdrop driver that got a two-count. Ford reversed Cameron and smashed her across the face, which allowed Ford to tag Bayne. MegaBad tried for a suplex, but Cameron reversed the momentum into a double DDT! The Babes put Bayne on the top turnbuckle for a superplex and connected! Ford followed with a double blockbuster from the top to Nightingale and Cameron!

Bayne got to her feet first and sent Cameron to the ropes, where Nightingale made a blind tag.  Cameron put Bayne down with a spinning DDT, and Nightingale followed with a huge spinebuster, but Bayne kicked out at two! Ford saved Bayne from a double-team, which allowed Bayne to throw Ford into Nightingale for a cutter! Bayne put Cameron on her shoulders, as Ford went to the top and connected with a Doomsday Device! Bayne pinned Cameron, and MegaBad defeated the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions! That earns them a title match against the Babes of Wrath next Saturday, February 14, at AEW Grand Slam Australia!

TNT Champion Tommaso Ciampa Issues Open Challenge for Collision

TNT Champion Tommaso Ciampa said he won the title last week by answering an open challenge from Mark Briscoe. So, in respect to him and the TNT Title, he will keep that tradition going this Saturday at Collision. He won’t be hard to find. He named the TNT Title, “Silvie.”

AEW National Championship Match: Ricochet (c) def. “Jungle” Jack Perry

While Perry waited for Ricochet to send GOA to the back, he decided he had waited long enough and launched himself over the top onto Ricochet! Ricochet bailed to the floor, so Perry followed with a flip off the ramp! Perry threw Ricochet in the ring to mount him in the corner with punches, but Ricochet came back to throw Perry neck-first into the second rope. That opening allowed Ricochet to return Perry’s initial flurry of punches and then some, but Perry stopped it on the apron and knocked Ricochet to the floor. Perry tried a sliding dropkick, but Ricochet was ready for it and sent him face-first onto the announce desk!

Ricochet remained in control of the rematch until they fought on the apron. Perry fought out of a suplex attempt and clotheslined Ricochet to the floor. But Perry kept the pressure on with a tope con hilo over the top to the floor! Back in the ring, Ricochet caught a DDT attempt and reversed it into a Northern Lights suplex, but rolled through with a deadlift suplex and hung on to roll Perry to the apron for another suplex on the corner of the ring! Ricochet wasn’t done, and finally put Perry down with a Death Valley driver to the floor! What a brutal sequence by the AEW National Champion!

Ricochet nailed a springboard lariat and a modified TKO for a two-count. Ricochet grabbed the AEW National Title and threw it in the ring for the referee to grab. Ricochet tried to use the distraction for a low blow, but Perry caught it and went for the Snare Trap. Ricochet escaped to the ropes, so Perry charged him in the corner and ran up the turnbuckles to jump over Ricochet. He tried a German suplex, but Ricochet landed on his feet. Perry connected with a big kick to the jaw, only for Ricochet to come back with a lariat. Perry escaped Ricochet with a poisonrana and followed with a diamond DDT. Perry hit a cutter from a fireman’s carry to get a nearfall!

Ricochet avoided the running knee and rolled Perry up for two, so Perry did the same and then locked in the Snare Trap. Ricochet nearly made it to the ropes, so Perry pulled him back to the middle and pounded on his head before putting the Snare Trap back on. Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona returned to the ramp. Kaun distracted the referee, so Liona pulled Ricochet to the ropes to break the hold. The Young Bucks appeared to a massive ovation with Matt Jackson cracking Liona in the back with a chair as Nick Jackson dove off the ramp onto Liona! As the Bucks and GOA fought on the ramp, Ricochet threw Perry face-first into the AEW National Championship that was draped across the second turnbuckle! While Perry was already out, Ricochet nailed Vertigo to get the win and successful defense of the AEW National Championship!

Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors Drag Darby Allin to the Desert!

Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors commandeered the broadcast from the production truck and made them play a video that apparently connected the dots from their attack on Darby Allin earlier in the day. Kidd was seen in a car, dragging a body bag along a desert road. Kidd got out of the car and told the camera, “You said you were easy to find. I know.” And with that, he showed Connors unzipping the body bag that contained Allin, bound with tape.

Kidd said, “See you in hell, bruv. I’m checked in two doors down!”

Connors cut the rope from the car to the body bag and drove away with Kidd, leaving Allin deserted and in bad shape.

AEW World Championship Eliminator Match: Brody King def. MJF (c) – King Earns AEW World Title Match Against MJF at Grand Slam Australia

The crowd exploded at the bell for King, and as he and MJF were about to come together in the ring, the music of “Hangman” Adam Page played, and one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions appeared on the ramp! MJF immediately turned his attention to Page, but when he turned back around, King snatched him with a choke over the top ropes! MJF was out cold! King dropped his lifeless body to the floor and immediately threw MJF back in the ring. King crushed him in the corner with a cannonball and dragged MJF to the middle of the ring for a massive Gonzo Bomb to get the shockingly fast victory! King will face MJF for the AEW World Championship at AEW Grand Slam Australia!

As King held the AEW World Championship in a possible preview of the rematch in 10 days, Andrade El Ídolo attacked from behind and put King down with a back elbow! He nailed a DDT on MJF, but walked into a Buckshot Lariat from Hangman! Page set MJF up for a Buckshot Lariat, so MJF low-blowed him on the way down. King got back up and hit a second Gonzo Bomb on MJF and posed with the AEW World Championship to end our night in Vegas! We’ll be right back in Sin City on Saturday night for Collision!
