What a special night it was in the Cathedral of Lucha Libre, Arena México, for AEW Grand Slam: Mexico on TBS and HBO Max! AEW’s highly anticipated return to Mexico City provided one of the greatest atmospheres in history!
AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo beat Komander and Tommaso Ciampa to earn the #1 spot in the Casino Gauntlet at All In: London. However, MJF made a surprise return and attacked Andrade with his Triple B title belt before taking back his Dynamite Diamond Ring to inflict more damage. MJF will try to earn the #2 spot next week on Dynamite, as he called himself the true World Champion.
In the main event, Will Ospreay outlasted Mark Davis to win a Mexico City Street Fight in a match that saw both men get bloodied and use everything from barbed wire to chairs to a tire! AEW International Champion Kyle Fletcher made it a better night for the Don Callis Family by retaining his title over “Speedball” Mike Bailey. However, TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight was pinned by Darby Allin in a star-studded trios match, which was another low light for the Callis Family.
Plus, AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale earned a victory for her team by pinning Mercedes Moné, and the Brawling Birds will now face Divine Dominion for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles at All In: London!
All that and so much more went down on an electric night at Arena México for AEW Grand Slam: Mexico! Here are your complete results!
AEW Grand Slam: Mexico Results Tonight for Mexico City
Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia and PAC) def. AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland & Christian Cage & Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
The night began with Adam Copeland making his first entrance ever at Arena México to a deafening ovation, and he soaked in every second of it! Cage got a similar reaction, although he was his usual stoic self. Tony Schiavone said the crowd was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself talk! The Bucks got plenty of love from the crowd, but the temperature changed when the Death Riders' guitar riff blared throughout Arena México. Jon Moxley fed off the atmosphere, and after some initial boos, the crowd chanted for Moxley!
PAC and Cage started our opening contest, but it was Wheeler Yuta who kneed Cage in the back from the apron to set off a brawl between all eight men. The Bucks and Cage isolated PAC in the corner and hit him with a double kick/spear combo. Cage and Cope followed with a double-team of their own to send PAC to the floor. Matt Jackson hit double boots to the Death Riders on the outside, and Nick followed with a twisting dive over his brother. But that wasn’t all, as Cage came off the top with a crossbody to the Death Riders! Cope had the biggest smile across his face, as he was clearly enjoying every bit of this atmosphere!
Nick found himself isolated by the Death Riders for several minutes, as Moxley did everything he could to pick him apart. After clearing out Nick’s partners from their corner, all four Death Riders went into their repeated corner attacks on Nick until Yuta threw him to the middle of the ring with a release German suplex. Garcia locked on a Dragon Tamer on Nick until Matt broke it up. Matt was disposed of back to the outside, but Nick turned things around by taking Yuta and Garcia out with a double arm drag. But Nick was going to the wrong corner, as he was perhaps still dealing with the after effects of his match with Moxley and Will Ospreay at Redemption! Nick finally made it to the correct corner and tagged Cope, who blew the roof off the building when he entered the ring!
Cope cleared the Death Riders’ corner and unloaded on Moxley and PAC in the ring with clotheslines and right hands before dropping them both with a double clothesline! Cope sent PAC over the top, but turned right into a cutter from Moxley! Mox tried for a spear, so Cope jumped over it, and Moxley landed on the second rope. Cope hit a crossbody to Moxley’s back, and Cage followed by standing on Moxley! The Bucks sent Mox back to the ropes with a pair of kicks, so Cope and Nick decided to hit stereo swinging pendulum kicks through the ropes to Moxley! Cage went up top and connected with a diving headbutt to Moxley. Matt dropped a top rope elbow on Mox! The Death Riders tried to come back in to save Mox, but were knocked back to the outside. While Cope had a brief conversation with the referee, Cage took the opportunity to hit Mox low! The Bucks and Cope hit triple superkicks on Moxley, but PAC and Garcia came in to break up the pin attempt and keep the match alive!
The Bucks came over the top with stereo crossbodies to Yuta and Garcia. Back in the ring, Cope blocked a Death Rider from Mox and turned it into an impaler DDT! The crowd chanted for a spear, and Cope got in position, but before he could do anything, Marina Shafir got on the apron and pulled his hair! Cage pulled Shafir off the apron and got in her face, so she slapped him! He responded by kicking her low!
Yuta took out Cope with a Buisaku knee, but nearly got caught in a Killswitch from Cage until Gartcia helped break it up. Yuta hit another Busaiku knee on Cage as Garcia brought him down at the same time! The Bucks hit superkicks on Garcia, but Yuta caught the next attempt and broke up the party. Yuta sent Matt to the corner, so Matt leaped over Yuta, which allowed Nick to hit a superkick! The Bucks nailed an assisted Sliced Bread #2 on Yuta! Matt faked Garcia into a DDT! PAC came in to dump Matt on his head with a rebound German suplex! Cope dropped PAC on his head with a Cope-a-Matic! Moxley tried to grab Cope in a choke, but Cope dropped down and rolled him up for a two-count! Cope speared Moxley! He went for the cover, but Yuta was holding up the referee, so there was no count, although Moxley was down for at least three seconds!
Matt dropped Yuta with a right hand, and in the ring, PAC sent Cope to the ropes, where he ran into Matt! Moxley rolled up Cope with a handful of trunks to steal the victory! The Death Riders celebrated victory on the outside while Cope and the Bucks tried to figure out what happened in the ring. Cage joined the conversation, and it didn’t seem like much got handled. Cage exited, but Cope did shake the hands of Matt and Nick before they left!
Last Week’s Contentious and Physical Confrontation Between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay
After the match, we took a special look at the heated conversation between AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay that took place at the end of last week’s Dynamite. Omega slapped Ospreay, so Ospreay answered in kind and stopped short of taking out Omega with a Hidden Blade, as he promised that when he pulls the trigger, Omega will see it coming!
AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo def. Komander and "Psycho Killer" Tommaso Ciampa to win the #1 Spot in the All In: London Casino Gauntlet
Ciampa entered first, adorned in a variety of American flags and red, white and blue gear. Renee Paquette had a report on Ciampa, who said he’s already looking ahead to whoever wins the AEW World Title at All In: London because when he wins the Casino Gauntlet, he’ll be lying in wait! After Komander got a fantastic reaction on his way to the ring, AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo made a very special entrance to a massive reaction from his home country!
With all three men in the ring, Ciampa tried to get a reaction out of the crowd by posing on the ropes, and they didn’t respond kindly. Ciampa stomped Komander in the corner and got into a back-and-forth with Andrade until Ciampa was knocked down in the corner. Andrade ran for a meteora, but Komander cut him off with a springboard hurricanrana! Ciampa stopped Komander on the apron with a pair of stiff shots until Andrade pulled Ciampa out of the ring on the opposite side. Komander ran across the tightrope and came down on Ciampa and Andrade with a Spaceman!
Komander threw Andrade back in, but soaked in the cheers for too long and got blasted by Andrade back to the floor. A springboard tornillo by Andrade absolutely crushed Komander, and he celebrated with an admirer who received a selfie with the AEW National Champion! Ciampa took over by knocking both Andrade and Komander over the barricade. Back in the ring, Ciampa caught Komander with a knee on his way down from the top rope. Andrade and Ciampa traded shots until Andrade knocked Ciampa to the floor and leaped back to his feet! Andrade removed his pants much to the delight of many in the crowd (and those watching at home). Andrade rolled Komander into Three Amigos, completed it successfully, and then scaled the ropes. Ciampa swept Andrade’s legs out to knock him to the mat, then hit a bicycle knee that sent Komander from the apron to the floor.
Ciampa picked up Andrade’s pants and started beating them up, including a Project Ciampa, which he followed with a cover until Komander hit a 450 meant for Ciampa to the pants! Ciampa bent Komander backward with Project Ciampa, but Komander kicked out in time! Ciampa went up top, but Andrade ran across to stop him with some stiff strikes. Ciampa fought back, so Andrade took control with a stiff shot, but before he could do anything else, Komander springboarded from the adjacent ropes to spike Andrade with a poisonarana off the second rope! Komander went up top, and Ciampa caught him for an Air Raid Crash, but Komander kicked out at two! Ciampa got into an argument with the referee, so he never saw Andrade coming with flying knees! Komander broke up the pin!
Komander avoided Andrade by running up the ropes, but he landed in the arms of Ciampa only for Andrade to lay out Ciampa with Dia de Los Muertos that may have been intended for Komander! Komander hit a tornillo into a poisonrana to Andrade! Komander went back up and connected on Cielito Lindo to Ciampa, but Andrade picked Komander right up and hit The DM to get the victory! Andrade will enter the All In: London Casino Gauntlet at #1!
Andrade spoke to the crowd and said he was the proud holder of the AEW National Championship, but he wants more! He is going to win the Casino Gauntlet at All In! Andrade told the crowd he wanted to win the AEW World Title for everyone here and for Mexico! You think he can’t win the Casino Gauntlet and win the AEW World Title? He has one question.

MJF Attacks Andrade and Plans to Win the Casino Gauntlet!
MJF IS HERE!
Andrade immediately turned to the entrance when the music hit, but MJF came out of the crowd and attacked Andrade from behind with his Triple B title belt! He held up the title, but is still a former champion. MJF took his Dynamite Diamond Ring from Andrade, knocked him to the mat with it, and posed for the crowd! He did it again! MJF unloaded on Andrade’s head on the ramp and then threw him off it to the floor!
MJF picked up his Triple B and a microphone. While medical personnel attended to Andrade on the floor, he said someone needs to get that “piece of trash” from this “piece of shit country” out of the arena right now! MJF said he’s an American hero and the best professional wrestler in the world.
“And make no mistake about it, I am your champion!”
MJF said he had Kenny Omega dead to rights in their AEW World Title match at Beach Break until Will Ospreay got involved, so it’s Ospreay’s fault a “paper champion” like Omega gets to waltz around with a “toy belt” and head into a main event at Wembley “that was mine!” MJF started throwing a tantrum, but calmed down because he always gets what he wants. Next week, AEW Dynamite is in Las Vegas, and MJF is feeling lucky. He will enter the match for the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet, win that match, go to Wembley, and dog-walk Andrade again. And he will win the contract again and do what he did the last time.
“The only championship that should be recognized is the Triple B, and the only champ that should be recognized is me! And after August 30 at All In with that fake main event, I don’t care if that winner is a ‘Best Bout Machine’ or an ‘Aerial Assassin,’ because I am going to remind the world, whether you like it or not, I am your one true champion!”
MJF held up the Triple B and dropped the microphone before leaving the ring through the crowd, stopping to taunt fans along the way.
We took a special look at the AEW Women’s World Championship match at All In: London, when Willow Nightingale defends against Mercedes Moné. Last week, Moné interrupted Nightingale’s celebration to make her sign the contract. The two went back and forth on the microphone until Moné tried to hit Nightingale, but was blocked, so AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion took out Nightingale! The Brawling Birds came out to make the save, and now these six women will do battle tonight!
AEW Women's World Champion Willow Nightingale & Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) def. "The CEO" Mercedes Moné & AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion ("Colossal" Lena Kross and "Megasus" Megan Bayne)
Nightingale gave Windsor the chance to start with Bayne, who overpowered Windsor into the ropes but missed a chop, so Windsor fired off some of her own. Bayne dropped Windsor with a shoulder tackle and caught her in a bear hug. Bayne unloaded on Windsor in the corner and went to the opposite side, but Windsor turned things around with a flurry of shots and tagged Hayter!
The Birds went into their double-team offense, although it took an extra big boot to take Bayne down, but that gave Nightingale the chance to tag in and hit a senton splash. Bayne kicked out at one! Bayne hit a jawbreaker and taggedMonée. Moné stomped Willow in the corner and went into Three Amigos, but brought Bayne in for some extra help. All six women wound up in the ring, and the suplex attempts broke down into a barrage of punches. Kross and Bayne were sent to the floor, so Willow and Windsor followed with stereo cannonballs off the apron! Hayter chucked Moné to the floor and went up top for a crossbody on Moné and Divine Dominion!
However, Willow was soon isolated and took quite a beating until she hit a desperation Pounce on Moné and tagged Hayter as Moné tagged Kross. The Birds double-teamed Kross with a pair of headbutts, and Windsor tagged back in for a combination Russian Leg Sweep/lariat! Divine Dominion and the Birds squared off in the middle and wound up in a strike battle until Hayter decked Bayne and Windsor wiped out Kross! Willow andMonée tagged in at the same time and came to blows in the middle of the ring! Willow flattened Moné with a spinebuster, but Moné kicked out at two! Willow sent Moné to the corner, but Moné stopped the charge in by sending Willow head-first into the turnbuckle. She hit a second-rope meteora on Willow, but was immediately grabbed by Windsor for a backslide, which she escaped, so Windsor followed with a headbutt!
Kross dropped Windsor with a Fireman’s Carry Cutter, only to be immediately dropped by Hayter. Bayne put Hayter down with a Falcon Arrow! Willow dumped Bayne on her head with a Death Valley Driver! Willow was fired up and had Moné on the top rope, but Moné knocked Willow back to the mat. Willow avoided a meteora and ran over Moné with a clothesline! Divine Dominion stopped Willow from powerbombing Moné and grabbed her for Divine Intervention. The Birds stopped that with stereo German suplexes! Moné jackknifed Willow for a one-count, so Willow rolled through it and tried a Babe with the Powerbomb, but Moné escaped and tried a MoneMaker. Willow got out of that and caught Moné in a backslide for the three-count! As Willow celebrated with the Birds on the ramp, we learned that they will face Divine Dominion for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship at All In: London!
AEW International Championship Match: Don Callis Family's "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher (c) def. "Speedball" Mike Bailey
Both Fletcher and Bailey entered with masks, although Fletcher removed his on the ramp and Bailey kept his on at the bell. Fletcher held his mask up, so Bailey removed his, and Fletcher responded by dropping his own mask and stomping on it, a clear sign of disrespect for Lucha Libre.
Bailey got Fletcher down with an arm drag, so Fletcher responded with a big bodyslam. Bailey got a pair of near-falls, as the two traded reversals until Bailey walked the top rope and came down with a hurricanrana that sent Fletcher to the floor. Bailey fired up the crowd and dove through the ropes, but Fletcher was ready and caught him! Fletcher got a running start with Bailey over his shoulder and lawn darted him head-first into the barricade! Back in the ring, Fletcher tried for a high-angle powerbomb, so Bailey slid out of it and got a backslide for a near-fall. Bailey sent Fletcher to the floor and followed with a springboard moonsault to the outside!
Bailey went to the top, and Fletcher got up, so Bailey jumped over him and hit a combo of kicks followed by a standing shooting star press for another near-fall! Fletcher missed with a charger in the corner, so Bailey put him on the top turnbuckle and connected with a kick to the jaw. Bailey took too long, so Fletcher grabbed him for an Avalanche Michinoku Driver! 1-2-Bailey kicks out! Bailey rolled to the outside, as that did a lot of damage.
Fletcher continued to assault Bailey and taunt the crowd. Speedball climbed up to the apron, so Fletcher took a run at him and spilled to the outside as Speedball came down with a springboard moonsault! The risk paid off! Speedball dove in the ring, so Fletcher followed and was immediately rolled up for a near-fall! Fletcher was taken for a ride by a flying headscissors followed by a cross-legged pin that he barely escaped! Fletcher knocked away a pair of quick and spiked Bailey with a half-and-half suplex. He tried for a brainbuster, but Bailey escaped onto the ramp only to eat a boot from Fletcher!
Fletcher stalked Bailey up the ramp to the base of the entrance steps and tried to suplex him onto them. Bailey landed on the steps and took Fletcher down with a hurricanrana! He ran up nearly the entire staircase and came back down with a moonsault that was on target! Back in the ring, Speedball rolled through an Ultima Weapon attempt and countered Fletcher into a near-fall! Don Callis was beside himself on the outside!
Speedball hit a thrust kick to send Fletcher to the corner, but when he tried to follow, Fletcher dumped him with another Michinoku Driver! Bailey kicked out to stay alive! Fletcher tried to powerbomb Speedball, so Speedball held on, and Fletcher carried him to the ropes. Both men spilled over the top to the floor, but Fletcher hung on and powerbombed Speedball onto the apron! Fletcher threw Speedball back in and connected with a big boot in the corner and a Sheer Drop Brainbuster in the middle of the ring! 1-2-SPEEDBALL KICKED OUT!
Fletcher can’t believe it, and the crowd came unglued! Fletcher brought Bailey to the top rope for a super brainbuster, but Bailey was ready for it and kicked Fletcher in the chest. He brought Fletcher to the mat with a top-rope poisonrana! Speedball went back up and connected with Ultima Weapon to a bent-over Fletcher! 1-2-FLETCHER KICKED OUT! What a match!
Bailey caught Fletcher in another pin attempt, but Fletcher got out of it and caught Bailey’s spin kick. He launched Bailey into the corner with a lawn dart and followed with a running boot. Fletcher put Bailey on the top rope and spiked him with a brainbuster on the top turnbuckle! Fletcher pinned Bailed to win the match and retain his title!
Fletcher celebrated after the match until we heard the music of “The Rainmaker,” Kazuchika Okada, who decided he didn’t want to wait any longer for the next match. Okada and Fletcher faced off on the ramp, where Fletcher held up his AEW International Title and continued to the back.
CMLL World Lightweight and World Trios Champion, ROH World Tag Team Champion and IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Místico, “Corazón de León” Jericho & Darby Allin def. Don Callis Family (TNT Champion "The Jet" Kevin Knight, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada & CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechicero)
Hechicero and Knight joined Okada, but the crowd knew what was coming next. “Me Muero” began, and Místico made his entrance as everyone sang along for one of the best experiences in all of professional wrestling. While the crowd was in awe of Místico, Okada seemed annoyed by it all. “Corazon de Leon” Jericho came out next in an homage to the significant amount of time he spent in Mexico throughout his career, complete with throwback shorts and a leather jacket with streamers! Allin rounded things out for this championship squad and skateboarded down the ramp until Knight jumped over the top rope and leveled him with a lariat! What a jumpstart to this match! All six men paired off, but Knight immediately threw Allin off the ramp, where he landed crotch-first on the barricade. OUCH!
Okada and Jericho fought in the corner, while Hechicero fed off the crowd with a rising knee to Místico in the corner! Okada stomped Jericho in the corner, but Jericho came back with chops until Okada put him down with a dropkick. Knight tagged in and ran into a Death Valley Driver from Jericho! He tagged Allin, who Knight wanted no part of, as he scampered to tag Hechicero. Allin took Hechicero out twice and knocked Knight off the apron, but when he tried to dive to the floor at Knight, Okada cut him off with a perfectly timed dropkick Allin never saw coming!
Allin was in deep trouble until he ran into Knight, which took both men down. Allin tagged Místico and the crowd went wild! He hit a springboard crossbody to Knight and then fought off a double-team by Okada and Hechicero to take Knight down with a hurricanrana! He ran Okada and Hechicero into each other and knocked Okada backward off the ropes with a swinging kick. A springboard hurricanrana sent Hechicero to the floor, and Místico followed that with an escalera into an arm drag. Okada slowed Místico down until he was sent into Jericho for a Codebreaker! Místico got a near-fall on Knight with a springboard crossbody and then tagged Allin, who was very hyped to get at Knight again!
They met in a battle of strikes until Allin took Knight down and locked in a Scorpion Death Lock! Okada tried to stop it, so Jericho grabbed him for a Liontamer, but Hechicero helped Okada escape. Hechicero caught Místico on his shoulders, but Místico swung around with a hurricanrana that took Hechicero down to the mat! Jericho went up top and came down on Okada with a crossbody on the floor! Allin did the same to Knight with a Coffin Drop to the floor! Místico ran up the ropes and took out Hechicero with a crossbody over the ring post. Allin went to the top, but Knight caught him in the tree of woe. Knight climbed the adjacent turnbuckles and tried for a coast-to-coast, but was met by a Judas Effect from Jericho! Okada tried a dropkick, but Jericho caught him and locked in the Walls of Jericho! Místico put Hechicero down with La Mística! Allin came off the top onto Knight with another Coffin Drop and pinned the TNT Champion to win for his team!
CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone def. Kris Statlander
Mexican National Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa took this match in from the crowd, as Persephone and Statlander showed off their athleticism by avoiding each other’s big moves. Statlander knocked Persephone over the top to the floor and went to the apron for a standing moonsault press onto Persephone! Statlander tried to crush Persephone between the ropes, but missed and landed hard on the apron. Persephone kicked Statlander to the floor and went over the top with a tope con hilo! Persephone went over to Thunder Rosa to talk trash as she took control.
Back in the ring, Statlander hit a gutbuster followed by a German suplex. She hit a kick combo in the corner and dropped Persephone with a fisherman’s driver that got a near-fall. Persephone avoided Staturday Night Fever and tried for her crucifix powerbomb, which Statlander escaped and trapped Persephone in a seatbelt pin for a two-count! Persephone took Stat down with a flying clothesline, and both women got back to their feet for a strike battle that saw Persephone get put against the ropes for a crossbody to the back by Stat. Statlander missed a 450 Splash from the top! Persephone speared Statlander! Statlander kicked out at two!
Persephone went to the floor and tried to pull the Mexican National Woman’s Title away from Thunder Rosa, which pulled Rosa over the barricade. Persephone hit Rosa with her own title! Statlander came flying off the apron with a shoulder block that took down Persephone and the referee! Stat hit a suplex and threw Persephone back in the ring. Statlander tried to hit Staturday Night Fever, but Persephone slipped out only for Statlander to roll her up, but there was no one to count! Hikaru Shida came out of nowhere and blasted Statlander with Rosa’s Title! Shida and Persephone appeared to be on the same page, as Persephone hit a springboard frog splash from the ramp and pinned Statlander for the win! She grabbed Rosa’s title and celebrated with it to send a message to the champion. As Persephone went up the ramp, TBS Champion Maya World and Hyan came out to check on Statlander.
After the match, we reviewed the events of the last week to set up tonight’s Mexico City Street Fight between Will Ospreay and Mark Davis in the main event!
AEW World Trios Championship Match: "Hangman" Adam Page & Brodido (ROH World Champion Bandido and Brody King) def. The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) (c)
Bandido, Page and King were played to the ring by a mariachi band in matching attire and accompanied by Kemalito! The Good, The Bad and The Ugly were beloved here in Mexico City! The Demand didn’t get the same reaction and decided to jumpstart the match with a sneak attack before the bell. The advantage didn’t last long, and Ricochet ended up alone with Page in the ring. Page showed some respect for his hosts and took Ricochet down with a tejeras!
“COWBOY SHIT!”
Liona worked away from Page, but didn’t see King tag in, as he somehow took hold of both Liona's and Kaun’s arms. He rebounded off the ropes like a giant luchador and took the two big men over with a pair of armdrags! The crowd erupted in barks! Ricochet tried to come after King, but was sent to the floor. Bandido tagged in and King stood on the bottom rope to trap Kaun and Liona on the apron while Bandido and Page dropkicked them! Page and King launched Bandido onto the top rope, and he launched to the floor with a swanton dive to take out The Demand! Bandido got King and Page to do the Macarena until The Demand attacked them from behind. Kaun dropped Bandido back first across the top turnbuckles, and The Demand had the advantage!
Bandido was in trouble for some time, but seemed to find an opening against Kaun. However, when he charged at Kaun near the ropes, Kaun used his massive legs to launch Bandido over the top to the ramp! What a counter! Kaun threw Bandido back in the hard way and tagged Ricochet. He threw Bandido into the turnbuckle and tried a springboard, but took a pair of boots to the gut on the way down! Page tagged in!
Page took out all of The Demand with a barrage of offense! He threw Ricochet down with a fallaway slam and followed with a springboard crossbody to Kaun on the floor! Page got back in the ring, avoided a kick, and laid out Ricochet with a right hand. Ricochet fought out of the corner, but Page quickly turned things around with a Liger Bomb, only for Liona to make the save just in time. Things broke down once again until Page thought he had Ricochet lined up for a Buckshot Lariat, but Ricochet hit a big knee to send Page to the floor! The Demand all flew off the ring at the same time in different directions to take out the challengers.
Page couldn’t escape a triple-team in the corner and a running shooting star press from Ricochet, but he still managed to kick out at two! GOA lifted Page for a double crucifix bomb, but King pulled Ricochet to the ramp, and Page fought Kaun and Liona off until King sandwiched both Kaun and Liona in the corner. He followed with a cannonball in the corner, but was immediately taken down by Ricochet. Page connected with a discus lariat on Ricochet and tagged Bandido! He tried a 21 Plex on Ricochet, who landed on his feet and got a blind tag from Liona.
Bandido put Ricochet down with a gorilla press slam and went to the top rope, where he was met by Kaun. Page knocked Kaun to the floor and was immediately hit by Liona, who put him on the top turnbuckle with Bandido. King stopped Liona with strikes until he ran into a kick from Kaun at the ropes. That allowed Liona to put King on his shoulders, but that wasn’t enough! He ended up with Page and Bandido on top of King and put all three men down with a triple Samoan Drop! What power! Liona covered Bandido for a near-fall.
The Demand tried to attack Bandido in the corner, but he sent Ricochet and Kaun to the outside and avoided Liona’s charge by sending him into the turnbuckle. King dropped Liona with a huge lariat and dove to the floor to take out Ricochet and Kaun. Bandido tried to pull Liona over for a 21 Plex, but he hung onto the ropes for the block. Bandido kept pulling until Page kicked Liona free. Bandido tried again, but instead held Liona for Page to hit a Buckshot Lariat as Bandido brought the massive Liona over on a hesitation 21 Plex for the pinfall victory! We have NEW AEW WORLD TRIOS CHAMPIONS!
Mexico City Street Fight (No Outside Interference): Will Ospreay def. Don Callis Family's Mark Davis
After an amazing night of action in the cathedral of pro wrestling, this main event was anything but a joyous occasion. Davis came down the entrance steps with a barbed wire-wrapped chair, so Ospreay went out to meet him! Davis threw the chair at Ospreay, who ducked as it landed in the ring. Davis clotheslined Ospreay into the ring and grabbed another chair to bring with him. Davis hit a senton splash on Ospreay while the crowd was doing everything they could to get Ospreay out of the early hole.
Davis lodged the chair in the corner and tried to send Ospreay into it, but Ospreay blocked it and took Davis down with a hurricanrana that sent Davis to the floor. Ospreay followed with a dive that connected, but didn’t take down Davis. He chopped Davis against the barricade and walked around the ring to find a tire! It’s all legal tonight! Davis kicked Ospreay, causing him to drop the tire, so Davis bodyslammed Ospreay onto the tire and threw him to the barricade, only for Ospreay to reverse it. Ospreay charged, and Davis sent him into the crowd!
Ospreay was on his feet and got a running start to leap over the barricade and take out Davis! Ospreay brought Davis back in the ring and hit an elbow strike, although it barely kept Davis down for a one-count. Davis hit Ospreay in the gut and then the back with a chair. Ospreay came back to kick the chair out of Davis’ grasp, but when he tried a hurricanrana from the apron, Davis caught him and powerbombed Ospreay into the corner of the ring!
Davis grabbed a garbage can and threw it at Ospreay’s head, which connected with a thud! Davis picked up Ospreay and powerbombed him onto a fan at ringside! The two fought up to the stage near the entrance steps, where Davis cracked some board over the head of Ospreay that exploded on impact and sent Ospreay rolling down the staircase! Davis stomped his way down and flipped Ospreay over the top rope abc into the ring. Davis yelled for a chair and came back to the ring, but after exchanging reversals, it was Davis who sent Ospreay head-first into the chair lodged in the corner earlier in the match.
Davis set up two chairs next to each other and went back to Ospreay to dig at his open wound on his head. Davis threw a chair at Ospreay’s back and sat him in another chair. Davis produced a fork and dug it into his head! Davis stabbed Ospreay twice and charged at him, but Ospreay took him down with a drop toehold. Davis jumped off the chair and hit an OsCutter! Davis kicked out at two! Ospreay grabbed the fork and started stabbing Davis in the head! Ospreay held the fork in his mouth as blood poured down his face!
Davis came right back with a clothesline and set up two chairs to face each other. He picked Ospreay up to spike him through both chairs! 1-2-Ospreay kicked out! Davis was also bleeding from the head by this point, but kept pushing forward and pushed his barbed wire-covered arm into Ospreay’s face in the corner! That was gnarly! Davis tried to build momentum, so Ospreay threw a chair at him. Davis broke free of Ospreay on the mat and tried a piledriver, but Ospreay got back to his knees, so Davis raked his back and then did it again with the barbed wire! Davis celebrated for a second, which left him open for Ospreay to grab him by the testicles! With Davis paralyzed by pain, Ospreay spiked him on the apron with a piledriver!
Davis just beat the ten count to get back in the ring and crawled right into a Hidden Blade! 1-2-Davis kicked out! Ospreay was fired up and tried to hook up Davis for a Storm Breaker, but Davis broke free. Ospreay caught him in a crucifix for a near-fall. Ospreay missed a kick, and Davis hit Close Your Eyes and Count to Three! This time, the piledriver didn’t finish Ospreay! Davis wrapped his arm in barbed wire and tried a rebound lariat, but Ospreay floated over it and adjusted his grip into the Styles Clash! Davis kicked out at two! Ospreay started raining down blows onto Davis! He put the barbed wire around Davis’ head and hit another Hidden Blade! Ospreay covered and got the pinfall to win the main event! Ospreay celebrated with the amazing crowd to close out Grand Slam: Mexico!
