AEW Tailgate Brawl Matches, Preview for Saturday, September 20

Daniel Garcia vs. Katsuyori Shibata 3

Two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, Garcia sided with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders by attacking Darby Allin. Garcia’s allegiance has been unwavering since then, and he has decided to turn his attention to a group that’s been a big problem for the Death Riders, The Opps.

In calling out The Opps, Garcia specifically mentioned Shibata, as they have history, with each man owning a victory over the other. Now, they’ll fight again in a rubber match, although the stakes will be far different with Garcia running with the Death Riders.

Samoa Joe & Powerhouse Hobbs of The Opps vs. The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry)

Shibata won’t be the only member of The Opps to be in action at AEW Tailgate Brawl. The other two-thirds of the AEW World Trios Tag Team Champions, Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs, will take on The WorkHorsemen, JD Drake and Anthony Henry, this Saturday afternoon!

Drake and Henry are one of the most cohesive teams in the world, although neither Joe nor Hobbs ever take a challenge lightly. This should be a great tag team affair to help begin a great day of action in Toronto!

Tailgate Tornado Tag Match: ROH Interim World TV Champion Mina Shirakawa, Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron & Queen Aminata vs. Megan Bayne, Penelope Ford, Julia Hart & Skye Blue

Triangle of Madness, often along with Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford, have taken aim at seemingly the entire AEW women’s division over the last two months.

The latest battle will come on Saturday afternoon as Bayne and Ford team with Julia Hart and Sky Blue against Mina Shirakawa, Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, and Queen Aminata – but no tags will be needed in this tornado match!

Trios Match: Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong & Hologram vs. Frat House

Before AEW Tailgate Brawl, Kyle O'Reilly chatted with Roderick Strong about how the Frat House was talking trash as O'Reilly came into the building on Saturday. And with Roddy itching for a fight after his battle with Jon Moxley at September to Remember, Strong was more than game. The only twist: O'Reilly revealed it would be a trios match, with Paragon conglomerating with Hologram against the Frat House!
