AEW Collision was back in the raucous Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit on TBS and HBO Max for the second of two live nights of action! AEW All In: London has everyone’s attention, but there are still important stops along the way, including this one in the Motor City.
And wouldn’t you know it, the night began with the shocking debut of Motor City Machine Guns, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley! They were happy to be home and announced they were All Elite! Later, Sabin and Shelley helped Bang Bang Gang deal with The Dogs and Death Riders after Juice Robinson pinned Wheeler Yuta in a wild eight-man tag.
In the main event, it was the former Death Rider, Will Ospreay, against the loyal Death Rider, Daniel Garcia, with AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley taking it all in from the commentary desk. Ospreay overcame Garcia’s relentless submission attempts to beat him with a Hidden Blade. However, Mark Davis showed up and brawled with Ospreay into the crowd with the help of RPG Vice. Ospreay wound up breaking free of a chair attack and said he wanted Davis next week in a Mexico City Street Fight at Grand Slam: Mexico!
Plus, we learned that the AEW Continental Cup will begin next week on Collision with a 16-man, single-elimination tournament that already includes Moxley, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong and Nigel McGuinness!

Collision barely had a chance to begin when The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, showed up in Detroit! Before either man could speak, the crowd expressed their elation with an extended “MOTOR CITY” chant!
Sabin began, “Did you really think we wouldn’t be here? There’s no place we’d rather be in than the greatest city in civilization. The place we represented for 20 years. Because this is where the best wrestle!”
The crowd responded with an “AEW” chant!
Shelly said hello to the crowd and continued, “Detroit, in more ways than one, we are home!”
“WELCOME HOME!” “WELCOME HOME!” “WELCOME HOME!”
“And it is our immense pleasure to say the Motor City Machine Guns are ALL ELITE!”
AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun) (c) def. The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz, Myron Reed and Dezmond Xavier)
Ricochet and Wentz started this opening contest, and Wentz took Ricochet down in the first exchange. Ricochet decided to clear out The Rascalz’ corner and sent Wentz to the Demand corner. He tagged Liona and sprinted back across the ring to dive over the corner post onto Reed and Xavier on the floor! Back in the ring, Kaun whipped Liona into Wentz for a big corner splash. Kaun slammed Wentz and then slammed Liona on top of Wentz! Kaun covered and Wentz kicked out at two, but what a statement start for The Demand!
Kaun chopped Wentz in the corner and tagged Ricochet. Kaun and Ricochet whipped Wentz to the ropes, but instead of completing the double-team with Kaun, Ricochet posed for the camera and the crowd instead! Kaun still dropped Wentz, but had to tell Ricochet to go for the pin. Wentz kicked out. Wentz avoided Ricochet in the corner and took him down with a tornillo! Xavier tagged in and lit Ricochet up with a quick combo followed by a cutter! Xavier slid into the Demand corner to trip GOA off the apron. Reed tagged in and got Ricochet with a lungblower so Xavier could stomp him in the back. Wentz came back in with a handspring kick to knock Liona off the apron. Wentz and Xavier double-teamed Kaun with an array of strikes to bring him to his knees, which allowed Reed to stomp Kaun in the back! Wentz took out Kaun with a tornillo to the floor. Xavier flipped to the floor onto Ricochet! Reed hit a huge dive over the ropes that took down Liona!
Ricochet turned things around with a knee to the back that sent Xavier to the floor. Kaun took care of the rest, whipping Xavier back and forth off the barricade before throwing him back into the ring. The Demand isolated Xavier for an extended period, but couldn’t keep him down for a three-count. Xavier escaped another pin attempt and ducked Ricochet’s Spirit Gun to finally tag Reed! Ricochet charged Reed at the ropes, so Reed moved and hit an axe kick! He somehow avoided a charging Liona who tried to send him over the top and then avoided a double-team to kick Kaun down to the mat. He picked up Ricochet on his shoulders and rotated him to the ropes for a draping DDT!
Liona ran through Reed to stop his offense, but Reed came back with a cutter! Reed avoided a double clothesline from GOA and took them both down with dual cutters! The Rascalz dropped Ricochet with a triple superkick and used their rotation trios dropkicks to send Ricochet down to the mat. Ricochet kicked out at two! Liona cleared all three of The Rascalz out of the corner, and Kaun followed with a huge crossbody over the top to Wentz. He pulled Xavier off the apron and carried him for a running brainbuster on the floor! Back in the ring, Ricochet hit a kick combo to Wentz that knocked him out of the corner, but he wound up right back in the same corner with force thanks to a shotgun dropkick from Kaun. Liona ran all of his hip into Wentz and tossed him up to Kaun for a diving cutter! Ricochet hit a crossover on a springboard splash, but Wentz kicked out to keep the match alive! Ricochet was shocked and Detroit came alive for Wentz’ effort!
GOA put Wentz on their shoulders and Ricochet was about to springboard in, but he was pulled down by Xavier and Reed to bounce him off the apron! Wentz took Kaun out with a DDT and hit a jumping knee to Liona! Xavier used a somersault kick to send Liona through the ropes to the apron. Reed jumped over the top and pulled Liona down onto Ricochet and Kaun with an innovative cutter! The crowd came unglued for that one!
Back in the ring, Wentz hit Ricochet with a senton from the top. Reed followed with a No Cap Splash, but when Xavier tried a Spiral Tap, Ricochet got his knees up! GOA pulled Reed and Wentz to the floor and sent them both face-first into the corner of the ring. Back inside, Ricochet tried for a Spirit Gun on Xavier, so he ducked and hooked Ricochet into a 2.999 count! Ricochet was sent to the corner, so he flipped over Xavier and grabbed him for a Benadriller. Xavier kicked free and Ricochet tagged Kaun, but stayed in the ring for the running knee to Xavier’s temple! Kaun and Liona squashed Xavier in the middle of the ring and finished him off with a Double Crucifix Powerbomb to get the pinfall victory!
The Conglomeration Are Regrouping in the Continental Cup?
Backstage, Lexy Nair was with the former AEW World Trios Champions, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong, and asked how they get back on track. Cassidy said he felt really bad about it and entered the Continental Cup. Strong and O’Reilly said they did the same, and Cassidy said they may have to face each other. O’Reilly dismissed that idea for the time being and said that because they were nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, they’ll be doing it live tonight on Collision!
The Continental Cup Begins Next Week on Collision!
The winner of the Continental Cup will be the AEW Continental Champion and win the AEW Continental Challenge Cup! Jon Moxley will defend as champion in a 16-man, single-elimination tournament beginning next week on Collision, and all matches are drawn at random in every round! Nigel McGuinness immediately announced he would be entering the Continental Cup with the hope of fighting for the AEW Continental Challenge Cup in Wembley Stadium!
Tommaso Ciampa def. Nick Comoroto
Ciampa looked to be in a surly mood after losing to the Painmaker at Redemption last weekend. Comoroto immediately ripped at Ciampa’s drill wound at the bell, so Ciampa bailed to the floor. Comoroto chased after, but Ciampa dove back in and stomped Comoroto into the mat repeatedly until backing up and finishing Comoroto with a bicycle knee for the sudden victory!
“Hangman” Adam Page Wants to Team with Brodido in Mexico City
Page said he was looking for something else to do, but last night wasn’t what he expected. Brody King walked up to Page and thanked him for having his back last night. ROH World Champion Bandido came over and offered his own thanks. Page has been trying to figure out what to do, but next week, AEW is in Mexico City, and he can’t think of anything better to do than to challenge for the AEW World Trios Titles with Brodido! Bandido named the team “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.” King asked which one was the ugly one, so Page and Bandido walked off without answering.
HAZUKI & The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and NJPW Strong Women's Champion Alex Windsor) def. ROH Women's World Champion Athena, Billie Starkz & Diamanté
Athena opened things with Hayter, and Athena quickly worked her into the MIT corner for Diamanté to tag in and work Hayter’s arm. Hayter overpowered Diamanté into the corner and tagged in Windsor, who unloaded on Diamanté and tagged Hayter back in to do the same. Hayter followed suit once again, and Windsor took Diamanté over for a double-team combo with Hayter nailing Diamanté with a PK. Hayter tried a suplex, so Diamanté floated over and smashed Hayter in the back. HAZUKI and Starkz tagged in at the same time, with HAZUKI quickly taking Starkz down and following with a senton splash. She facewashed Starkz with her boot and bounced off the ropes for a running boot to the face! Hayter tagged in, just as Athena pulled HAZUKI away from the corner. Everything broke down into fist fights until Hayter was in the ring alone. She dove low through the ropes, but Athena was waiting with a knee lift!
Athena tried to pull Hayter out, but Hayter kicked her into the barricade. Meanwhile, Windsor headbutted Starkz off the ramp to the floor, and HAZUKI and Diamanté took each other out with clotheslines on the stage. Back near the ring, Athena suplexed Hayter off the steel steps! After keeping Hayter away from a tag, HAZUKI finally got back into the match! She jumped off Diamanté to knock Athena and Starkz off the apron and immediately got to the top rope for a shotgun dropkick!
HAZUKI sent Starkz into Diamanté in the corner with a hurricanrana and hit a double Codebreaker on both! Athena broke up the pin attempt with a release German suplex on HAZUKI! That set off a chain reaction of German suplexes with Windsor taking down Starkz, followed by Diamanté dropping Windsor with Chaos Theory! HAZUKI jackknifed Diamanté for a near-fall. Windsor tagged in and stacked up Diamanté and Starkz in the corner, so Hayter threw Athena to the front of the stack. Windsor clotheslined Athena, Hayter got Starkz, and the Birds picked up HAZUKI for an assisted shotgun dropkick on Diamanté! HAZUKI dove off the apron onto Starkz while the Birds double-teamed Diamanté and nearly got the win until Athena broke up the pin!
Athena took down Hayter and Windsor with a double-leg trip combo. Athena flipped Diamanté over Windsor for an assisted Sliced Bread #2 to get a near-fall. HAZUKI and Athena traded big reversals until they exchanged running forearms on the ropes. HAZUKI dropped Athena with a pump kick, so Athena came back with a thrust kick. HAZUKI came back with a release German suplex! Diamanté threw HAZUKI out, so Windsor ran Diamanté into Starkz. Hayter and Windsor finished Diamanté with 2 Birds, 1 Stone for the pinfall victory!
Divine Dominion marched to ringside and yanked the Brawling Birds from the ring. They threw both Hayer and Windsor into the steel steps while Athena picked apart HAZUKI in the ring. Lena Kross and Megan Bayne showed their immense power by bodyslamming Windsor and Hayter on top of the stage, as Athena taunted HAZUKI in the ring!
AEW World Trios Champions The Demand Accept the Challenge from Brodido and Hangman
Ricochet addressed the AEW World Trios Championship from Hangman and Brodido and wondered how they could demand anything from them. Ricochet said they have no other option but to accept the challenge and put them down! Jay Lethal said he’s going to crush Komander’s dreams of wrestling in Arena México next week when he crushes him in their match tonight!
The Conglomeration Completes the Ice Bucket Challenge with Rhino and Insane Clown Posse!
With Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong sitting in a kiddie pool, Michigan’s own Rhino was joined by Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J of Insane Clown Posse! With plenty of crowd participation, the challenge was completed, and the crowd closed it out with a “REBEL” chant!
Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Ace Austin and Juice Robinson) def. Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, PAC, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta)
While the Death Riders certainly got a big reaction coming through the crowd, nothing compared to the entire crowd putting their “Gunns Up” while chanting with Bang Bang Gang! Yuta and Austin Gunn started things, with Yuta eating a series of punches that sent him to the mat. Robinson took advantage of a Gunns double team with a senton on Yuta. The crowd erupted in a “JUICE” chant and PAC tagged in. Robinson worked over PAC’s arm and tagged Ace Austin, who took PAC down with a big dropkick. PAC got separation on the top rope, so Ace followed with a gamengiri and turned around to catch Yuta and put him on his shoulders. He added PAC to the pile and dropped both with a Mega Samoan Drop! And that’s what tree trunk quads can do for you!
PAC got Ace to the corner, and the Death Riders cleared the Bang Bang Gang corner before the Riders attacked Ace repeatedly in the corner! Ace struggled to get away from the Death Riders, as Castagnoli and PAC double-teamed Ace with a stomp off the apron! They threw him back for Yuta, who only got a two! Moxley tagged in and put Ace in a straitjacket choke. Ace kicked free and tagged Colten! Colten unloaded on all the Death Riders and cleared the ring until he nearly put Yuta away! Colten called for the Fame-asser, but Moxley grabbed his foot, and Yuta rolled Colten up for a near-fall! Robinson tagged in and came off the top with a crossbody, hooking for a two-count! Castagnoli fought off both Gunns and tried to suplex them both, but they fought him off and took him out with 3:10 to Yuma!
PAC threw Austin with a German suplex, so Colten hit PAC with a Fame-asser! Mox knocked Colten to the floor and dove after him into the barricade! Ace avoided Mox on the apron with a handstand and kicked him in the chest. Ace got back in the ring and came over the top with a spaceman twist to Moxley! Back in the ring, Yuta missed a Busaiku Knee on Robinson, so Juice lit him up with jabs to set up the Left Hand of God. Yuta bit Robinson and tried to roll him up, but Robinson reversed the pin and scored the three-count for the Bang Bang Gang!
PAC and Yuta attacked Robinson after the bell, so the Gunns came in to run them off, but they didn’t see The Dogs coming down the ramp! Clark Connors and David Finlay started picking apart Bang Bang Gang until the Motor City Machine Guns ran down with chairs! The Death Riders got on the apron, but Mox called them off. With the Machine Guns turned away, Finlay tried to attack them from behind, but the Gunns stopped him with 3:10 to Yuma! Bang Bang Gang and the Machine Guns showed appreciation to each other in the ring!
At Grand Slam: Mexico, It’s Ciampa vs. Andrade for the #1 Spot in the Casino Gauntlet
Ciampa said he went through hell with the Painmaker and survived. Tonight should be everyone’s 90-second warning shot because the Psycho Killer is very much alive. Now, his focus is on All In: London and the Casino Gauntlet. He knows AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo is in the match for the #1 spot next week at Grand Slam: Mexico! Ciampa will take Andrade for that #1 spot in Mexico City!
Kris Statlander def. Aurora Teves
Before the match, Statlander challenged CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone to face her at Grand Slam: Mexico! Statlander worked Teves to the corner, but wound up eating a pair of kicks from Teves. Stat took Teves down with a leg sweep and followed with a splash in the corner. Statlander held Teves for an extended vertical suplex, called for more applause from the crowd, got it, and dropped Teves! Stataldner hit a running uppercut in the corner and followed with a running boot to the face. Statlander crushed Teves with Staturday Night Fever and earned the pinfall victory in a dominant performance!
AEW International Champion Kyle Fletcher and “Speedball” Mike Bailey Brawl
Lexy Nair was with Fletcher and Bailey ahead of their AEW International Championship match next week at Grand Slam: Mexico. She asked Fletcher if he was worried about Bailey’s momentum after winning last night’s trios match! Fletcher said he didn’t need momentum because he’s the best wrestler in the world today and has nothing to prove. He asked Bailey what he had to prove. Bailey said Fletcher isn’t at his best and won’t be until he’s free of the Don Callis Family, so next week, he wants Fletcher on his own. Fletcher agreed and kicked Bailey in the face and through a doorway. The two spilled into the arena onto the top of the ramp, where Fletcher booted Speedball down the ramp. Fletcher held up his title and threw Speedball in the ring. He tried to hit Bailey with it, but Bailey avoided it and cracked Fletcher with a thrust kick. As Speedball loaded up a Time Adventure, Fletcher kicked him in the jaw first! Fletcher tried to powerbomb Bailey, but he rolled through and kicked Fletcher in the chest. Bailey followed with the moonsault knee drop across Fletcher’s chest! Speedball tried a Time Adventure kick, so Fletcher rolled out of the ring. Speedball picked up the AEW International Title and held it up while Fletcher stewed on the ramp!
TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight Makes a World Champion Trios Challenge
Knight said the Don Callis Family is a Family of world champions: past, present, and future, as he pointed to himself. So on behalf of himself, Okada and Hechicero, he’s issuing a challenge to any former world champions that want to step to them next week at Grand Slam: Mexico!
Komander def. Jay Lethal
Komander was coming off a great challenge for Jon Moxley’s AEW Continental Championship last night on Dynamite, so Detroit was behind him from the jump. Lethal tried to slow down Komander early, but Komander turned a figure-four attempt into a near-fall. Lethal ran into a pair of boots from Komander, who spun off the top to send Lethal to the outside with an arm drag. Komander had to abandon his tightrope walk when Lethal got back in the ring and took Lethal to the floor with a head scissors instead! Komander followed with a beautiful moonsault to the floor, and the crowd was loving every second of it!
Lethal quickly turned things around by running Komander into the ring post. However, Komander fought back with a combo of kicks and a pendulum kick around the ropes, followed by a crossbody splash for a near-fall! Komander flipped out of the corner, but ate a pair of big kicks from Lethal, followed by the Lethal Combination! Lethal went up top and dropped the King’s Elbow, but Komander kicked out at two! Lethal chopped Komander and threw him to the opposite side, where Komander slid under the bottom rope and then back inside, where he ran up the ropes and came back with a 450 splash on Lethal, who was diving in the ring! Lethal kicked out just in time!
Lethal dropped Komander over the top rope, so Komander came back with a pair of strikes to knock Lethal onto the second rope. Komander got a head of steam to come up the ropes for a hurricanrana! Komander went up top and finished Lethal with Cielito Lindo for the pinfall win!
Will Ospreay def. Death Riders' Daniel Garcia
AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley joined commentary for the main event. Ospreay barely acknowledged Moxley and Marina Shafir at the desk on the stage, as he chose to soak in the massive ovation from the crowd! Garcia got fired up by the other Death Riders and made his way to the ring by himself. Garcia got in Ospreay’s face before the bell and continued to taunt, so Ospreay ran right at him at the bell, and Garcia bailed to the outside to stall. Ospreay followed after him, and Garcia tried to catch him at the apron, but Ospreay avoided him. The chase was on again, but now Garcia was back in the ring. Ospreay faked getting back in, so Garcia started to come out, but Ospreay was just baiting him into a big chop on the floor!
Ospreay continued with more chops around the barricades and brought Garcia back into the ring for a running boot. Garcia hit a strike into Ospreay’s neck, but he shook it off and sent Garcia to the floor with a hurricanrana! Ospreay followed up with a big dive and continued the attack on the floor. Garcia tried to throw Ospreay onto the barricade, so Ospreay jumped over it and tried to springboard back to Garcia. Garcia tripped him and DDT'd Ospreay on the floor!
Garcia kept the attack centered on Ospreay’s neck on the floor and back in the ring. Ospreay got back into it with a corkscrew kick out of nowhere! Ospreay knocked Garcia to the mat and hit a standing twist press for a near-fall. Ospreay kicked Garcia in the face and chopped him to the corner. Ospreay got sent to the apron and came back with a springboard forearm for another two-count. Ospreay and Garcia trade kicks and strikes until Garcia reversed a Storm Breaker attempt into a guillotine choke. Ospreay tried to reverse it, but Garcia went to a rear choke and transitioned into a piledriver! Ospreay kicked out, but stayed down as Garcia taunted him. That was a mistake, as Ospreay asked for a shot to the face. Garcia delivered, but Ospreay got right up and decked Garcia with an elbow!
Ospreay looked for a Hidden Blade, but Garcia somehow turned it into a Dragon Tamer! Ospreay was about to escape, so Garcia switched to a bulldog choke, just like the one Moxley uses to finish matches. Ospreay broke the hold in the corner and tried a Storm Breaker, so Garcia floated out into a sleeper. Ospreay got out of it and caught Garcia with a hook kick. He tried an OsCutter, but Garcia was waiting for it and got a rear naked choke! Ospreay refused to go down and put his arm up to pull off his elbow pad. Ospreay rolled back over Garcia to break the hold and nearly beheaded Garcia with a Hidden Blade! Ospreay pinned Garcia for the win!
Ospreay smiled at Garcia, who rolled out of the ring. On commentary, Moxley called Ospreay the most dangerous version of himself. Ospreay started to leave the ringside area, but was pulled into the crowd by Mark Davis! Davis tried to powerbomb Ospreay in the crowd, but Ospreay got on a balcony and hit Davis with a diving forearm! Davis got some backup from the Don Callis Family, including Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta, which allowed him to piledrive Ospreay on the floor! RPG Vice held Ospreay for Davis, as he attacked Ospreay with chair shots to the gut. Davis got on the mic and taunted Ospreay about not having the Death Riders to save him. Davis went to swing the chair, but Ospreay kicked it away and took out Romero and Beretta. Ospreay took a wild swing at Davis with the chair, but he was pulled out of the ring in time by RPG Vice.
Ospreay said if Davis wanted to introduce weapons, he should have just asked. Maybe he needs to show everyone there’s no hesitation left. Next week, the Don Callis Family might be banned from ringside, but he wants the match against Davis to be a Mexico City Street Fight!
And that brings a great pair of nights in Detroit to a close!
