We were thrilled to bring AEW Full Gear back to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, for the seventh edition of this great event on a night full of title changes that won’t soon be forgotten!
The AEW World Championship shockingly changed hands when HOOK nailed “Hangman” Adam Page with the title to reveal he was still very much part of The Opps, which allowed Samoa Joe to hit a Muscle Buster and become a two-time AEW World Champion. However, the celebration was short-lived, as Swerve Strickland made a surprise return and cleared the ring as Full Gear came to a close.
AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander wouldn’t let history repeat itself, as she turned away TBS Champion Mercedes Moné after losing to her at Full Gear last year despite battling through an arm injury for most of the match. And Ricochet became the inaugural AEW National Champion when he pinned Kevin Knight after 12 competitors had entered the Casino Gauntlet. The Demand has their first gold in AEW!
Meanwhile, Kyle O’Reilly beat Jon Moxley in arguably the biggest win of his career, although the Death Riders did earn a big victory earlier in the night when PAC submitted Darby Allin, who was still clearly feeling the effects of the burns he suffered from PAC at Blood & Guts.
The TNT Title has a new champion in Mark Briscoe, who won a knock-down, drag-out no disqualification match. Plus, FTR regained the AEW World Tag Team Championships, and the Young Bucks reunited with Kenny Omega! All that and so much more went down after a high-stakes Tailgate Brawl, too!
Here's everything that happened at AEW Full Gear and Tailgate Brawl on November 22, 2025, including your full results and match recaps.
AEW Full Gear Full Match Results
AEW Tailgate Brawl – $200K 4-Way Tag: Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn) def. Anthony Bowens & Max Caster, The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum) and Big Bill & Bryan Keith
We began our night with $200K on the line in the Full Gear Tailgate Brawl, with Anthony Bowens and Austin Gunn starting the festivities. Gunn got the better of Bowens until Bowens dropped him with a floating DDT. Caster and Robinson got into the fray but were soon replaced by Truth Magnum and Big Bill. A massive boot from Bill sent Magnum flying off the commentary desk, and the Outrunners were in trouble!
Luckily, Magnum found some daylight to bring in Turbo Floyd, and he unloaded on anything that moved. The Outrunners got the double-team on Bryan Keith until Bowens and Caster made their way back in the ring. They got Magnum down for Scissor Me Timbers, and it looked like Bowens was willing to drop the leg until Keith broke it up. Bowens turned it back around and dropped Keith in the middle of the ring so Caster could hit an elbow drop from the top. Bowens seemed to be in control, but he didn’t see Robinson sneak back in and roll him up for the pinfall victory! Bang Bang Gang is $200K richer!
We heard from Samoa Joe ahead of tonight’s AEW World Championship match against “Hangman” Adam Page inside a steel cage. While Joe didn’t have Katsuyori Shibata or Powerhouse Hobbs with him, he did have quite a large group behind him in Opps Dojos T-shirts.
AEW Tailgate Brawl – Tag Team Match: Boom & Doom (Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall) def. RPG Vice (Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta)
With Paul Wight returning to commentary, it was time for this tag team grudge match! QT Marshall came out with Aaron Solo and The Rizzler! Of course, Big Justice was with Big Boom AJ, and we were underway! Boom & Doom controlled RPG Vice from the jump, and any questions about their chemistry were quickly answered as they isolated Rocky Romero with some fantastic tag team offense. With RPG Vice both down on the outside, AJ launched Marshall over the top with a dive onto Beretta and Romero!
Back in the ring, Marshall got low-bridged by Beretta and crashed to the floor! He remained in the wrong corner until they went back outside. The Rizzler tried to help Marshall, but Romero got in his face, so Big Justice ran over to defend his friend. Beretta saw this as an opportunity to pie-face Big Justice to the ground. That brought Wight off commentary, and RPG Vice scattered.
Marshall fought back in the ring and finally made the tag to AJ! It was nothing but power from AJ, as he threw around RPG Vice with a powerslam, press slam, and spinebuster. AJ pointed at Callis before setting up Beretta for the PowerBoom, so Callis got up on the apron to provide a distraction. AJ turned back around into a cast shot from Beretta, followed by a running knee, but AJ kicked out in the nick of time!
Romero came off the top while Barreta held AJ for a spike crunch to the mat! It looked all over, but Marshall came out of nowhere to break it up with an elbow from the top! Romero hit Sliced Bread on Marshall and then ping-ponged off Boom & Doom in the corners. With the referee distracted by Beretta, Romero tried to use the cast, so Big Justice ran in with a Diamond Cutter on Romero! As Big Justice celebrated with Wight on the outside, Beretta tried to pull AJ in by the hair, so Wight knocked Beretta out with one punch. AJ set up Beretta for the PowerBoom, and Marshall came off the top with a super blockbuster to get the victory!
After the match, Alex Marvez caught up with Callis, Josh Alexander and the Young Bucks in the back to see if the loss by RPG Vice would mess with the Don Callis Family’s momentum. Callis had no concerns and said he’d have three new members by the end of the night, including Mark Briscoe and Matt and Nick Jackson, who said they were getting back to the old days. Callis hyped his team's upcoming performance in the CMLL World Trios Title Match, only to be told that Kazuchika Okada wasn’t in the building yet. Callis tried to quell those concerns, but the Jacksons wondered if Callis had made some mistakes with Okada and Konosuke Takeshita. Callis questioned if the Bucks hadn’t paid Okada enough attention. Callis gave the Bucks a gift, but they walked away before opening it.
AEW Tailgate Brawl – Tag Team Match: Eddie Kingston & HOOK def. The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry)
Drake and Henry jumped Kingston and HOOK during their entrance, and the WorkHorsemen quickly isolated HOOK in the ring to start the match. Henry put HOOK down early, so Drake could springboard in with a senton. A spinebuster from Drake put HOOK down for a two-count.
HOOK fought through a double team to finally make a tag to Kingston. They hit a double backdrop on Drake before Kingston dropped Henry with a DDT for the pinfall win, while HOOK locked Drake in REDRUM. HOOK and Kingston remained undefeated as a duo.
CMLL World Trios Championship Match: El Sky Team (Máscara Dorada, Neón and Místico) def. the Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero)
There was still no sign of Okada, as Callis accompanied Takeshita and Hechicero to the ring, but they still jumped El Sky Team on the outside. All of a sudden, the Callis Family was doing just fine without Okada, as Hechicero completely decimated Místico’s right arm on the outside using the ring steps before trapping the arm in a chair and snapping it back in a sickening fashion. The medical staff had to help Místico to the back, as all of this took place before the bell, so when it officially rang, this trios match turned into a de facto tag match.
Neón fought back by coming off the top to send Takeshita to the outside, and Dorada followed with a tornillo on Hechicero. As all four men fought on the outside, we saw Okada arriving in the parking lot in a ridiculously expensive car. He was in his ring gear and grabbed his jacket and the AEW Unified Championship, but he was clearly in no rush to join his team. This all happened as Full Gear officially went on the air!
When we returned to action in the ring, Takeshita was working over Dorada in the corner, and finally, Okada’s music hit, as he made a spectacular but deliberate entrance. While Takeshita was paying attention to Okada, Dorada rolled him up for a near-fall. That angered Takeshita, so he threw Dorada out. Okada met Takeshita in the middle of the ring, and Hechicero of all people tried to play peacemaker. Okada extended his hand and then flipped off Takeshita!
Neón and Dorada ran Okada and Takeshita into each other and thought they had an opening to scale opposite corners. However, Okada and Takeshita met them on the ropes and went for superplexes, but El Sky Team fought them off. Místico returned from the back with a heavily taped-up right arm, and he took the fight right to Okada and Takeshita! He took both down with a double crossbody and then sent Okada to the outside. Hechicero took his shot at Místico, but he was also sent to the outside. Místico followed with a dive to Hechicero and got back in the ring to deal with Takeshita. He caught him with La Mística, but Okada broke up the pin and then started beating on Takeshita's back before throwing him to the outside!
Okada turned around into an attack from Neón, only for Okada to turn it around with a perfect dropkick. Neón avoided a Rainmaker and sent Okada to the floor with an armdrag. Takeshita came back in to drop Neón on his neck and hung on for a wheelbarrow release suplex. Okada came back in but immediately had a miscommunication with Takeshita, who started fighting over who would put down Neón. That turned into a shoving match, so Dorada took that opportunity to nail Takeshita. Okada went for a Rainmaker on Dorada, but he ducked, so Okada nailed Takeshita, and he smiled! Dorada took Okada down with a head scissors, but Hechicero was right there to stay on the attack. Neón and Dorada quickly double-teamed him with spectacular head scissors takeovers that wowed the Newark crowd!
Neón and Dorada each went to the top and came off with stereo moonsaults to Okada and Takeshita on the floor! Back in the ring, Místico got a pair of near-falls on Hechicero. He got another one on a La Magistral. Hechicero bounced back with a rising kick in the corner, but when he went for a powerbomb, Misitco reversed it into a poisonrana and then locked on La Mística to earn the tap-out victory!
PAC def. Darby Allin
With PAC already in the ring, we were shown a video that appeared to show Allin wrapped in bandages in a hospital bed, watching the series of events that led to this match, including going through the flaming tables at Blood & Guts. Allin got up from the bed and smashed the TV with a bat. Back in the arena, Allin made his way down the ramp, and we could see bandages around his midsection, hands, and nearly his entire right arm, as the burns were clearly still a problem.
Allin controlled the match at the start with some nifty chain wrestling, which is precisely what PAC said Allin couldn’t do. PAC worked Allin into the corner, but Allin fought away with a perfectly-timed shotgun dropkick, which sent PAC to the floor. After stalling, PAC returned to the ring, so Allin went for a leaping armdrag off the ropes, but PAC landed on his feet. Allin stayed right on PAC after a near-fall. Allin wore PAC down with a tight side headlock in the middle of the ring, so PAC got out of it and locked on a head scissor. Allin then escaped and tried to apply the Scorpion Death Lock, but PAC scampered to the ropes.
The two fought on the apron, but that ended spectacularly when PAC press slammed Allin to the floor! That hurts a lot more 10 days removed from second-degree burns. Allin did everything he could to pull himself back in before the 10 count, so PAC met him with a stomp to the back of the neck. PAC ripped away the arm bandages and pried at the burns! He only made it worse when he dragged his fingernails down Allin’s exposed and burned back! PAC trapped Allin in the ropes with his foot on his head, only to slingshot Allin into the second rope with brutal whiplash. PAC went for a cover, but Allin kicked out, although his burns were more and more visible.
PAC whipped Allin so hard into the buckle that he went between the top and middle ropes, which sent Allin crashing to the outside and nearly into a cameraman! Back in the ring, PAC hit a dropkick from the top that sent Allin head over heels, but he wouldn’t stay down for a three-count. PAC slammed the mat in frustration and started toying with Allin, but Allin fought back with shots to the head and side. PAC threw Allin to the outside, but when he went to follow, Allin caught PAC in the apron and whaled away on him. Allin went back inside and hit a missile dive to PAC, sending the Death Rider into the guardrail.
Allin sat PAC in a chair on the outside and went to the top for a dropkick that connected, which sent PAC into the bottom of the announce desk and Allin crashing to the floor in a rough landing. Allin hit a springboard sunset flip back in the ring, but PAC rolled through, only for Allin to immediately lock in a guillotine choke. PAC fought out and hit Allin with a rebound German suplex. And when Allin tried to fight up, PAC threw him into the turnbuckles with another German, but Allin came flying back with a lariat, and both men were down!
Allin tried for a Coffin Drop from the second rope, only for PAC to catch him with another German suplex. PAC got a bunch of momentum for a running kick that should have ended it, but not in the case of Allin, who managed to kick out again. PAC immediately locked in the Brutalizer, and Allin struggled to get to the ropes, but he finally did to break the hold.
“THIS IS AWESOME!”
PAC beat Allin in the corner and hit three massive kicks to Allin’s face, as we learned from Nigel McGuinness that PAC may have a metal plate in his foot from the injury that kept him sidelined earlier this year. PAC missed a Black Arrow from the top, so Allin caught him in the Scorpion Death Lock! Wheeler Yuta appeared and distracted the referee and Allin, so PAC grabbed Allin’s bat and blasted Allin with it behind the referee’s back. That was enough to put Allin down for the three!
4-Way Tag Match (Winners Pick Stipulation of AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament Semifinal Match): Timeless Love Bombs (“Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa) def. Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron), Sisters of Sin (Skye Blue and Julia Hart) and Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir
As soon as Timeless Love Bombs became the final team to enter the ring, all eight women attacked each other, and the match was underway!
Shafir and Storm opened things up, with Shafir quickly getting control. She tagged in Bayne, and they trapped Storm in the ropes, taking turns kicking her in the front and back. Bayne caught a Thesz Press attempt and chucked Storm over her head. Storm wound up fighting out of Bayne’s corner with a DDT that allowed her to tag in Shirakawa. Storm dropped Shirakawa from her shoulder onto Bayne, but it barely got a one count. Bayne came back with a Samoan drop on Mina for a two-count, and Shafir tagged back in the match.
Shafir dragged Shirakawa’s face across the top rope and caught her in a head scissors, but didn’t see that Blue made a blind tag. Blue came in with a neckbreaker on Shirakawa, and the two exchanged shots until Mina hit a slingblade. Mina tried to tag Storm, but Julia Hart pulled Storm off the apron. Instead, Shirakawa tagged Nightingale, who immediately unloaded with lariats on Blue in the corner. Cameron tagged in and hit an assisted splash with Nightingale for a two-count. Cameron won a slugfest with Blue and followed with Sole Food and a backstabber, but Blue wouldn’t stay down. She threw Cameron into the corner, and Hart tagged in for the first time. Sisters of Sin decided to knock both Shafir and Bayne off the apron, followed by Hart hitting a rope walk arm strike. Bayne came back in and got into a shoving match with Blue before isolating Cameron in the corner. As Shafir and Bayne worked on Cameron, Timeless Love Bombs and Sisters of Sin fought it out on the floor.
Cameron came back with a DDT on Bayne and kicked away Shafir to make the tag to Nightingale. Willow put Shafir down with a pair of lariats, then an Oklahoma Slam for a two-count. Shafir came back with a rear-naked choke that sent Nightingale stumbling into the SIsters of Sin corner. Hart tagged in, and they hit double thrust kicks on Nightingale, but Bayne came in to break up the pin. Bayne and Shafir got into a bit of an argument with the Sisters of Sin until Shirakawa attacked. Bayne made a blind tag on Hart and dropped Shirakawa right into Shafir, who was waiting with Mother’s Milk. Storm fought through Bayne to break it up and finally got the tag.
Storm hit Shafir with a DDT, only for Shafir to fight back, but she didn’t see Cameron make a blind tag. Storm turned into a crossbody from the top by Cameron, which nearly earned Cameron the victory. Storm came back with a sitout powerbomb, but Sisters of Sin came in to break up the pin attempt. Bayne double suplexed both of them, only for Willow to come in with a Pounce! Shafir tried to attack Willow, but she was kicked out. Nightingale followed with a cannonball onto Bayne and Shafir on the floor. Storm helped Mina hit a big dive from the top to the floor. Back in the ring, Cameron nearly rolled up Storm for the win. The two traded near-falls, but it was Storm capturing Cameron in The Big Package to get the pinfall win!
Timeless Love Bombs will get to choose the stipulation for their AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Semifinal match against Bayne and Shafir!
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) def. Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) (c) – NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions
Wheeler and Bandido started this championship showdown with a feeling-out process, including some showmanship by Bandido. Harwood also got some from Bandido, but then King tagged in and really started dishing out the damage. He beat Harwood around the ringside area before taking it back to the ring with a bodyslam and a senton for a two-count. Bandido tagged in, but before he could do anything, Wheeler charged, so King bodyslammed him onto Harwood. Bandido then slammed King onto FTR! King stopped short of doing a Macarena, so Bandido turned his attention back to FTR on the outside. Stoke got in his way, so Bandido flew over him into the waiting arms of FTR, who slammed Bandido into the announce table!
The match swung significantly after that with FTR trapping Bandido in their corner with quick tags. Bandido had to fight through multiple double teams, but when he finally made the tag, the referee was distracted and refused to allow King to enter the ring. FTR seized that opportunity to smother Bandido in their corner. Finally, Bandido broke free, and King was in, legally this time! King dropped Wheeler with a huge sidewalk slam and a senton onto both members of FTR. Wheeler stopped King’s momentum with a choke, but King turned that into a Death Valley Driver onto Harwood in the corner.
King followed with a cannonball to both men, but Wheeler got an elbow up before the three-count. Bandido charged in, but was low-bridged and crashed to the floor. With King on the top turnbuckle, Harwood hit a superplex, but when Wheeler came down with a splash, King caught him by the throat. Bandido came off the top with a frog splash on Harwood, and King hit a sitout powerbomb on Wheeler. Brodido hit a double-team combination of shots before King knocked Harwood to the outside with a diving lariat.
King went for a dive on Harwood, but Stokely pushed Harwood out of the way and ate the dive from King. Wheeler immediately nailed King with a tornado DDT off the apron. Back in the ring, Bandido reversed a rebound powerbomb into a near-fall on Harwood. He got another near-fall, but Wheeler got back in the ring and tossed Bandido into Harwood, who hit a rebound powerbomb followed by a splash from Wheeler from the top, but Bandido was able to kick out!
Harwood got sent to the outside, and somehow Bandido threw Wheeler on top of him with a one-armed press slam! Bandido followed with a crossbody from the top to take out both members of FTR! Bandido missed from the top, but caught his balance on the way down, only for Harwood to launch him into a Shatter Machine. However, Bandido reversed it into a DDT on Wheeler and hit a superkick on Harwood. He went for the 21 Plex on Harwood, but Wheeler held Harwood’s hands. Wheeler flipped over Harwood, but he wound up eating a 21 Plex. Harwood was waiting and picked up Bandido for a Shatter Machine, which connected, but King broke up the pin at the very last moment!
On the outside, King set up Wheeler in some chairs against the barricade, but Wheeler moved, and King crashed and burned! Wheeler grabbed one of the AEW World Tag Team Titles, only for King to grab the other end. Bandido rolled up Harwood for a two-count, but when he kicked out, Wheeler nailed him with the title unbeknownst to the referee. Bandido kicked out again!
King fought back and Brodido isolated Harwood in the ring for their own version of the Shatter Machine! This time, Harwood kicked out just in time!
Bandido set up for the Second Shooter, but he was snatched and pulled into the ring post the hard way by Wheeler. Wheeler nailed a dive on King on the outside and immediately went to the top for a Doomsday Device, only for Bandido to reverse the momentum on the way down for another near fall. King had Harwood in a choke on the apron, so Wheeler put one on King. King broke it by crashing backwards into the ringpost, but wound up getting spiked on the apron with a piledriver!
FTR returned to the ring and caught Bandido with a double team for yet another near-fall. FTR wanted to end it, so they hit a spike piledriver on Bandido, and by some miracle, Bandido had enough to kick out! The crowd tried to will Bandido back into it, so he drew his finger pistols at the faces of Harwood in defiance, but they hit another Shatter Machine and finally kept Bandido down for the pinfall victory.
FTR are now record-tying, three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions!
Full Gear Casino Gauntlet Match: Ricochet pins Kevin Knight to become the Inaugural AEW National Champion
Despite earning the #1 and #2 spots, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin still entered the ring together alongside MVP. When the bell rang, the two slapped hands, though there was a clear feeling-out process in a more amateur wrestling sense. The countdown hit before anything really happened between the two, meaning that #3 would be walking into The Hurt Syndicate…
The #3 entrant was Ricochet!
Ricochet had a microphone and berated Benjamin and Lashley for wrestling, but it was just a distraction for Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun to attack from behind. While they handled Lashley and Benjamin, Ricochet repeatedly beat MVP with the microphone. Kaun dropped Benjamin on a chair on the floor and then whipped Liona into Lashley, who was propped up against the steel steps. Referees ran out to get GOA out of there and help MVP to the back.
The #4 entrant was Claudio Castagnoli!
Ricochet tried to dive onto Castagnoli, but he was met with a rising uppercut! Castagnoli press-slammed Ricochet back into the ring and followed with the giant swing for a few, quick revolutions. Castagnoli followed with an uppercut for a two-count. Ricochet battled back with a flying head scissors, and the countdown hit zero again…
The #5 entrant was Daniel Garcia!
Ricochet may have been able to survive The Hurt Syndicate with help, but he was back at a disadvantage against these Death Riders. Garcia immediately attacked Ricochet, as Castagnoli watched until he steamrolled Ricochet with another uppercut. Ricochet avoided another charge to send Castagnoli to the outside, but was crotched on the top rope by Garcia.
The #6 entrant was Orange Cassidy!
While Garcia had Ricochet set up for a German suplex from the top, Cassidy smacked Ricochet on the head to help him finish the job. Cassidy went for a pin on Ricochet, only for Castagnoli to lift him off by the waist of his jeans. Cassidy came back with a Stundog Millionaire on Castagnoli and a tornado DDT on Ricochet for a near-fall as the countdown hit zero again…
The #7 entrant was Wheeler Yuta!
Cassidy waited alone for Yuta, and it looked like these two would get a chance to settle some lasting differences until Garcia and Castagnoli attacked from behind, which made it a 3-on-1 situation. They all hit charges on Cassidy in the corner, and Ricochet joined in only to have Castagnoli floor him with an uppercut.
The #8 entrant was “The Jet” Kevin Knight!
Knight ran down the ramp and launched himself at Yuta with a leaping clothesline! He took Garcia out with a step-up clothesline from the apron and went to the top to attack Castagnoli, but it was caught, only for both men to spill over the top to the apron. Ricochet rolled up Knight for a two-count…
The #9 entrant was Roderick Strong!
Garcia was waiting for Strong at the apron, but Strong immediately hit a backbreaker on the apron. He went to work on Castagnoli and caught a flying Knight with another backbreaker. Strong hit Castagnoli with a fireman’s carry slam and dropped Ricochet across his knees! Strong followed with the Sick Kick for a two-count, and we were ready for another entrant…
The #10 entrant was Mark Davis!
Davis took down Yuta and Garcia with a clothesline and spiked Ricochet with a sitout piledriver, only for Cassidy to follow with a running PK immediately!
The #11 entrant was “Speedball” Mike Bailey!
Bailey and Knight worked together on Davis, but when Knight went for a pin attempt after a DDT, there was a tense moment between Bailey and Knight. Bailey wound up taking the Death Riders out on the outside while Knight knocked Davis to the floor. Bailey and Knight slapped hands and immediately exchanged pin attempts. They stopped for a moment, so Garcia attacked from behind and locked Bailey in the Dragon Slayer, as the countdown reached zero for the final time…
The #12 entrant was Daddy Magic Matt Menard!
Garcia looked like he’d seen a ghost! Menard came right in, yelling at Garcia and throwing rapid-fire shots before Garcia bailed to the outside. Menard followed and chased Garcia into the crowd!
Back in the ring, Davis and Castagnoli were about to face off, but Benjamin and Lashley were back up and in the ring. They disposed of Davis, then Castagnoli, followed by Knight. Lashley hit a spear on Strong and then a running powerslam on Cassidy.
Ricochet tried to sneak back in until Lashley and Benjamin saw him. Ricochet tried to escape, so Benjamin and Lashley threw him back and forth in a violent game of catch. Davis and Castagnoli came back in to slow down Benjamin and Lashley for a moment, but Cassidy nailed Davis with the Orange Punch. On the outside, Lashley missed a spear on Castagnoli and crashed into the barricade.
Cassidy had Ricochet set up for the Orange Punch, but Yuta stopped it and tried to steal the pin. Knight returned and hit The UFO Splash on Yuta, only for Ricochet to crush Knight with a Spirit Gun to get the victory!
Ricochet is the Inaugural AEW National Champion! GOA returned to the ring to celebrate the first title for The Demand!
No Holds Barred Match: Kyle O’Reilly def. Jon Moxley
As soon as O’Reilly got in the ring, he went for a double leg on Moxley! O’Reilly fired away on Moxley until Moxley started fighting back. Mox controlled O’Reilly on the ground for a short time until O’Reilly nearly snatched his arm. Moxley got up and gave O’Reilly some free shots, although when he had had enough, he gouged O’Reilly’s eyes. O’Reilly came back with brutal kicks to the chest in the corner, so Moxley came back with a fishhook, which was completely legal in this match. O’Reilly nearly caught Moxley in another ankle lock, so Moxley immediately bailed to the outside. That’s where Shafir handed Moxley a fork!
On commentary, Bryan Danielson surmised that Shafir gave Moxley the weapon because she didn’t think Moxley could go hold for hold with O’Reilly. Initially, O’Reilly held Moxley off until Mox stabbed O’Reilly in the head multiple times before switching to using the fork on his back! O’Reilly was a bloody mess, much like the crimson mask he wore inside Blood & Guts. Moxley pounded away on the exposed O’Reilly with strikes and then bit the bleeding head of O’Reilly!
Moxley controlled O’Reilly on the ground, even going as far as biting O’Reilly’s fingers to stop any chance of escape. Moxley took too long to stay on O’Reilly, which allowed O’Reilly to get an ankle lock until he switched to a headlock. Moxley escaped with a backdrop and retrieved the fork once again. This time, he used the fork on O’Reilly’s nipple! There’s no other way to say it!
Moxley stayed on the attack on the apron only for O’Reilly to escape and send Moxley into the steel post with a slingshot! After a few more shots to the ring steps, O’Reilly put Mox on a chair next to the guardrail and scored with a dropkick from the apron!
O’Reilly followed Moxley back into the ring, where Mox went for a cutter, but O’Reilly turned it into an ankle lock. Moxley fought through it and went for a triangle, but O’Reilly escaped and had a submission of his own. Mox grabbed the fork again, although O’Reilly was ready for it and took it away so he could stab Moxley over and over in the head! Now both men are covered in blood!
O’Reilly went looking for something under the ring and found a chain! Moxley was waiting for O’Reilly, who had a sadistic look on his face as he entered the ring with the chain around his neck. O’Reilly tried to trap Mox in a guillotine with the chain wrapped around him. However, Moxley wrapped the chain around O’Reilly, and both men went down on a suplex attached by the chain around their necks!
Both men got a handful of the chain and started exchanging blows. Moxley trapped O’Reilly in a bulldog choke with the chain, only for O’Reilly to break out with some ground and pound. Moxley tried to push on O’Reilly’s throat and then transitioned to an ankle lock before locking in an STF. O’Reilly got out of it by stabbing Moxley’s hand with a fork! Moxley stomped O’Reilly on the chain and went to the outside for a chair. He trapped O’Reilly’s left arm in the chair and stomped on it, which may have broken the arm.
Moxley brought him back up, and while O’Reilly tried to fight back, Mox dropped him with a Paradigm Shift. Moxley locked that arm in a submission, but couldn’t get it all the way on because O’Reilly grabbed his own tights to block it. O’Reilly escaped and trapped Moxley in an ankle lock with the chain wrapped around his legs, and Moxley had nowhere to go, so he tapped out! For the first time in AEW history, Moxley has tapped out twice to the same person in the span of 10 days.
Moxley banged the mat in frustration after the match, but he nodded at O’Reilly in what may have been an acknowledgment of losing to the better man. … or not! While Moxley was leaving, he looked back at the ring to see O’Reilly getting medical attention for what looked like a broken arm, so he ran back in to briefly attack O’Reilly before leaving again. The rest of the Death Riders came out, but so did Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong, so Moxley left through the crowd while Cassidy and Strong helped O’Reilly to the back.
No DQ TNT Championship Match: Mark Briscoe def. Kyle Fletcher – NEW TNT CHAMPION!
Before Briscoe entered, we saw a video narrated by him with both his blood family and his wrestling family, as it was clear he was not walking alone. Fletcher entered for the sixth singles match between the two, as Don Callis joined commentary.
Fletcher sent Briscoe to the outside early, and when he went after him, Briscoe tripped him from the apron. Briscoe grabbed a chair in this no-disqualification match and threw it at Fletcher’s head. Briscoe went under the ring for even more chairs and smashed one across the back of Fletcher before following with a shot to the head. Briscoe sat Fletcher on the chair and went for a cannonball from the apron, only for Fletcher to catch him and hit a brainbuster on the chair!
When Fletcher tried to take advantage, Briscoe swept his leg, which sent Fletcher back-first onto the steel steps. Briscoe found a ladder and put Fletcher on it, but Fletcher moved, and the ladder bent around Briscoe during the disastrous landing! Fletcher got up and just threw the ladder at Briscoe’s face like a dart before posing for the crowd, who had no interest in seeing that routine.
Fletcher found another ladder and threw it in the ring, as we saw Briscoe bleeding from the head. Fletcher bodyslammed Briscoe on the ladder and then slammed the ladder into Briscoe’s back. Fletcher propped up the ladder in the corner and sent Briscoe into it hard, but Briscoe managed to get a shoulder up in time on the pin attempt.
Briscoe fought Fletcher off the top rope and threw the ladder at Fletcher before hitting it with a dropkick from the top. Fletcher is busted wide open, so both men are now bleeding profusely. Briscoe went outside and found a table. He put Fletcher on the table, and after a couple of chair shots to the midsection, Briscoe went to the top rope, but Fletcher moved before anything could happen. Briscoe went down to chase after Fletcher, but was caught in a half-and-half suplex on multiple chairs on the floor! Fletcher set up six chairs front-to-front on the floor, and when that took too long, Briscoe walloped him with a chair! Briscoe went back to the top, so Callis got up to distract him, which allowed Fletcher to push Briscoe off and through a table on the floor!
Fletcher set up a table in the corner, but in the opposite corner, he hit a running boot to Briscoe. He tried to lawn-dart Briscoe into the table, only for Briscoe to stop it and hit an enziguri. Fletcher avoided a Jay Driller and carried Briscoe across the ring to slam him through the table. He followed with a huge powerbomb, and Briscoe still kicked out. Fletcher went outside to grab a metal bucket filled with tacks. He poured them on the mat. Fletcher picked up a handful of tacks and shoved them in Briscoe’s mouth so he could kick them! Briscoe battled back with a fisherman’s buster on the tacks, and Fletcher came up in severe pain. Briscoe went for the cover and got a two-count, although Fletcher was clearly in danger.
Briscoe retrieved a barbed wire table from under the ring and tossed in a regular table to go along with it. That wasn’t enough, though, as Briscoe found a massive ladder and added it to his pile of weapons. Briscoe set up a ladder in the corner and a table in front of it. The two fought on the apron, where Fletcher hit a huge kick to get control. Briscoe fought back and knocked Fletcher to the floor, where he followed with a flipping neckbreaker from the apron through the chairs to Fletcher!
Both men wound up on top of the big ladder in the ring, where Fletcher was knocked down one side, so Briscoe came off the top with a Froggy Bow to put Fletcher through the table! Briscoe went for the pin, and somehow Fletcher kicked out! Briscoe went back out to get the barbed wire table, but didn’t see Callis hand Fletcher a screwdriver. Briscoe blocked a screwdriver shot, so Fletcher hit a low blow and jabbed the screwdriver into Briscoe’s bleeding head and then licked it! Callis called it “sexy” on commentary because he’s sick.
The stalling gave Briscoe a chance to recover, as Fletcher missed another stab and got the screwdriver stuck in the turnbuckle. Briscoe hit a low blow of his own and then a suplex into the tacks! Fletcher kicked out! Briscoe went to the top, so Fletcher shoved the referee into the ropes to knock Briscoe down. Fletcher got the screwdriver back and stuck it in the turnbuckle with the intent of hitting a brainbuster on it. Briscoe fought out and went for the cutthroat driver, but Fletcher grabbed the screwdriver and stabbed Briscoe in the head multiple times. After a brainbuster on the tacks, Fletcher thought he had it won, but Briscoe threw a shoulder up!
Fletcher moved the barbed wire table near the turnbuckles and went for the brainbuster from the top, so Briscoe floated over and crotched Fletcher on the top. Briscoe hit a crucifix powerbomb from the top through the barbed wire table! He wasted no time grabbing Fletcher for the Jay Driller on the mess of weapons in the ring and pinned Fletcher to win the TNT Championship!
Briscoe has his first AEW singles championship and doesn’t have to join the Don Callis Family!
One Million Dollar Trios Match: Josh Alexander & The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) def. Kenny Omega & Jurassic Express (“Jungle” Jack Perry and Luchasaurus)
A wheel spun on the jumbotron during the Young Bucks' entrance that landed on a one-million-dollar wedge similar to their ring attire for this match, but would that be a prediction of the future or more cash squandered by Matt and Nick Jackson?
Nick and Perry started this big-money match, and neither man could gain a clear advantage. Perry tagged Luchasaurus, so Nick tagged Matt. Danielson mentioned on commentary that Luchasaurus could become the world’s richest dinosaur! He did his part to make that happen by taking out all three members of the opposition before Perry tagged back in for a short dropkick. Omega tagged in for the first time to a big reaction, although he was backed into the opposite corner and elbowed by Alexander. Alexander tagged in to continue the attack, only for Omega to fight out of the corner and send Alexander to the outside. Omega followed with a crossbody, although he may have landed awkwardly on the floor. There could be some lingering issues for Omega from Alexander’s attacks, which Callis seemed to confirm on commentary.
Omega found himself in trouble back in the ring until he fought through a Bucks double team with basement dropkicks and sent them to the outside. He started up the Terminator clap, which the crowd picked up on, although he was clearly limping, which gave Alexander the chance to cut it off. Omega fought him off and sent him to the outside so he could flip over the top onto Alexander and the Bucks. Omega tagged out, so Luchasaurus and Perry could hit tandem offense. Alexander caught Perry and slammed him on the apron with a brutal thud. The Bucks went to work on Perry in the ring, but Matt went to the top and dove onto Omega on the outside!
Back in the ring, the Bucks stayed on Perry and wore him down so Alexander could come in for some additional damage. Perry threw a desperation lariat that took down Alexander, although Alexander got up in time to knock Luchasaurus and Omega down. Perry fought back with a DDT, and this time he made the tag to Luchasaurus, who ran through the Bucks with his power and had them set up for a double chokeslam, only for Alexander to break it up. That earned him a chokeslam and another one for Matt onto Alexander. Nick was flipped onto Matt to complete the trifecta! Luchasaurus couldn’t fight off the Bucks for long enough, so Alexander was able to get back in, but Omega was able to make the tag! Alexander tried to tag Matt back in, but he hopped off the apron and told Alexander to handle Omega.
Omega opened on Alexander and went for You Can’t Escape, though his ankle was still a problem, so he missed the moonsault. The Bucks came back in to take down Omega and then Perry with a stop over the top rope, but Perry reversed it into a head scissors. All six men were in the ring, and after a flurry of offense, everyone was down! We got back to Omega and Alexander trading shots in the middle until Omega nailed consecutive snap dragon suplexes on Alexander, Matt and Nick. Alexander avoided a V-Trigger and chopped Omega at the left knee so that he could lock in an ankle lock. The Bucks grabbed Omega for the BTE Trigger while Omega was trapped in the ankle lock, and they hit it! Nick took out Luchasaurus on the outside while Matt tried to hold Perry back from breaking up the ankle lock. Omega finally made it to the ropes, although his leg was definitely in bad shape.
Luchasaurus cut off a flipping piledriver attempt and sent Alexander and Nick to the outside. Omega and Jurassic Express hit their own version of a spike piledriver on Matt, but it wasn’t enough for the win. Perry called for the Countdown to Extinction, but Alexander broke it up. Alexander went for a clothesline but missed and nailed Matt! Omega crushed Alexander with a knee. Luchasaurus sent Perry over the top to hit a hurricanrana on Matt from the apron to the floor. Jurassic Express hit Countdown to Extinction on Nick, but Alexander saved him in the nick of time! Luchasaurus and Omega put the Bucks on their shoulders for a double doomsday device, but when Perry came off the top, the Bucks landed on their feet. They cleared the way with superkicks, but inadvertently nailed Alexander, so Omega finished him off with a One-Winged Angel on the floor. But back in the ring, the Bucks hit Perry with a BTE Trigger to get the victory and win one million dollars!
After the match, Callis got in the ring with some of the Family and said it was time to celebrate because the Bucks are part of the Family! While the Bucks left up the ramp with Callis, Alexander returned to the ring to attack Omega’s leg along with the other members of the Family. The Bucks seemed conflicted about the situation as Callis tried to get them to leave and spend the money, while the fans chanted, “You sold out!”
The Bucks threw the money down and charged to the ring! They took out Alexander and Davis with superkicks and knocked the rest of the Family from the ring. Perry and Luchasaurus extended their hands to the Bucks, and the handshakes were reciprocated. Omega struggled to get to his feet as the Bucks offered handshakes. He slapped them away, and then all three men hugged! Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks have reunited!
AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Kris Statlander (c) def. TBS Champion Mercedes Moné
With her belt boys displaying her 13 championships, Mercedes Moné made her way to the ring for her second attempt to win the AEW Women’s World Championship. Statlander wouldn’t be outdone, as she kicked her way out of a spaceship before heading to the ring.
There was no feeling-out process in the early stages of this one, as Statlander took Moné down and nailed a standing moonsault for a near-fall. Moné sent Statlander to the outside and followed with a dive, but Statlander caught it and rolled through. She marched Moné up the steel steps, only for Moné to fight back on the apron. They fought on the top rope, where Statlander hit a superplex. Statlander went for a 450 from a different corner and missed in a big way! She went to the floor clutching her left arm, and after the referee checked on her, Statlander insisted she could continue. As soon as she got to her feet, Moné flew off the apron with a meteora. She followed by sending Statlander into the steel steps and hit another meteora before stomping on Statlander’s injured arm. Back in the ring, Moné got a near fall, then applied a Fujiwara armbar with joint manipulation.
Moné remained in control with a relentless, vicious attack on Statlander’s arm, as the AEW Women’s World Champion appeared to be in huge trouble. Statlander found a glimmer of hope with an explosive clothesline out of the corner, although she was still fighting with one arm, which allowed Moné to go back to a cross armbreaker. Moné dropped the arm across her legs and then bent it between her feet. Moné hit a tornado DDT for a near-fall, and Moné showed her frustration. Moné went into the Three Amigos and then added three more and then added three more and then added three more and then added two more, totaling 14 Amigos in honor of her 13 championships and the AEW Women’s World Championship. Moné took far too long going to the top for a Frog Splash and came down on Statlander’s boots!
Statlander found another gear and ran through Moné with a pair of clotheslines and a big running kick in the corner. Statlander followed with a one-armed slam for a two-count, as she couldn’t get all the weight she needed on Moné for the pin. Moné came back by draping Statlander’s arm over the top rope and continued to stomp away on it. When she came running down the apron, Statlander caught her and went down with a Blue Thunder Bomb! Both women were down, and Statlander got back in the ring first, although Moné saved her chances by diving back in the ring at the nick of time. Moné hit two backstabbers and a sunset flip powerbomb to the turnbuckle. She charged back at Statlander, who came flying out of the corner with a massive lariat out of desperation.
Moné went back to Statlander’s arm only for Statlander to come back with a belly-to-belly and then a Statement Maker of her own! Moné reversed it into her own Statement Maker. Statlander powered her way back to her feet and climbed the turnbuckles with Moné on her back. Statlander hit a super rib-breaker from the top, but she was too hurt to go for the immediate pin!
Statlander was also too hurt to pick up Moné for Staturday Night Fever, so she tried to roll into it, but wasn’t able to get to her feet. Statlander transitioned to the seatbelt pin, but Moné kicked out! Statlander came back with a package piledriver and looked to have the match won, yet Moné found a way to get a hand on the rope! Moné kicked Statlander from the top and went for a meteora, but Statlander caught it and shifted Moné onto her shoulders, so Moné responded with a hurricanrana, followed by a pair of knees to the face.
Statlander kicked out, and Moné was beside herself! She took too long going for the Moné Maker, and the two traded piledriver reversals. Statlander escaped Moné by running her into the turnbuckles repeatedly. She snatched Moné from the top and nailed Staturday Night Fever to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship in her first victory over Moné and only the second singles loss for Moné in AEW! Statlander’s win was her 82nd, the most in the AEW women’s division!
The Don Callis Family Will Be Well Represented in the Continental Classic
Callis was backstage with Hechicero, Okada and Takeshita to talk up the greatness of his Family, which devolved into an argument between Okada and Takeshita. Callis reminded everyone that Okada had to defend his title in the Continental Classic. Takeshita said he’d also be in the Continental Classic, but then Fletcher showed up to complain about not getting any help during his match. He kept wondering what happened to ProtOkada or ProtoShita, then said he wouldn’t be without a championship for long because he was also entering the Continental Classic, and left the scene. Okada blamed Takeshita for what happened with Fletcher.
AEW World Championship Steel Cage Match: Samoa Joe def. “Hangman” Adam Page (c) – NEW AEW WORLD CHAMPION
The Opps Dojo members flanked Joe for his entrance before Page made a memorable entrance with different theme music. It should be noted that Page still had plenty of tape around his injured ribs, which was precisely what Joe targeted at the outset. Page fought back and sent Joe into the cage face-first, which created a bloody laceration on Joe’s forehead. Page went right after the cut by pounding Joe in the corner.
Hangman took his boot off and just beat the hell out of Joe with it, as his aggressive side had been on display in recent weeks. Joe collapsed in the opposite corner, as Page stayed on him to make the wound worse. Joe fought back with chops and forearms before raking the eyes of the AEW World Champion. Page charged at Joe, but Joe side-stepped him and sent Page face-first into the steel. The cut on Joe’s head seemed to be getting worse, yet he continued to throw everything he had at Page, which caused Page to bleed. Joe sandwiched Page between the ropes and the cage and nailed him with an enziguri. Joe followed by raking Page’s face across the steel.
Page punched his way free only to run right into a lightning-fast powerslam by Joe for a near-fall. With the amount of blood both men lost, it’s hard to believe either can see. Page fought his way through some significant strikes and sent Joe into the metal supports that keep the cage upright. He hit so hard that there was a massive blood mark on the cage. Page got Joe down and used the Coquina Clutch, although he couldn’t cinch it all the way in. Joe escaped and hit a uranage out of the corner. He took off the turnbuckle pad and had Page on that top rope to go for a Muscle Buster, but Page bit Joe on the head to get some separation. Joe fought his way back up to the top with Page, so Page came off with a sunset flip powerbomb.
Shibata appeared at the locked cage door, so Page kicked him away, and Shibata grabbed the AEW World Title and climbed the cage! Eddie Kingston ran down to pull Shibata off the cage and fought him to the back. In the cage, referee Paul Turner was inadvertently crushed against the cage, so he wasn’t able to count when Page hit a Dead Eye for at least a three-count. Powerhouse Hobbs showed up and ripped the lock off the cage door! He entered with the AEW World Title, but Page was ready and fought him off. Joe was ready, though, and caught Page in the Coquina Clutch. Page escaped it by running Joe into the exposed turnbuckle and followed with a Buckshot Lariat, but the referee was still down!
HOOK ran down to wake the referee, though helping Page wasn’t the actual plan. Instead, HOOK smiled and grabbed the AEW World Title to smash Page across the face! HOOK took off his jacket to reveal an Opps shirt, as it was clear he had never left the group. Joe hit Page with a Muscle Buster on the title, as the referee came to for the three-count.
Samoa Joe is once again AEW World Champion thanks to HOOK! The Opps and members of the Opps Dojo joined Joe in the ring to celebrate until the lights went out…
When they came back on, a video played on the screen showing a house on fire. And when it ended, Prince Nana was on top of the ramp.
SWERVE STRICKLAND IS BACK!
He never took his eyes off Joe as he made his way to the ring. When Swerve got on the apron, Joe pointed out what had happened to Page. Swerve cautiously entered the ring full of The Opps and stood across for Joe. Swerve slowly removed his jacket and started walking towards Page, but stopped and nailed one of the members of the Opps Dojo!
Joe and The Opps retreated up the ramp, as Swerve destroyed the various members of the Opps Dojo, including breaking an arm! Page stopped one final member from attacking Swerve from behind and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Strickland, as they started down Joe, HOOK, Hobbs and Shibata to end our night in Newark.
