The last time we saw Darby Allin before Saturday night’s AEW Collision from GalaxyCon in Columbus, Ohio, he was lying in a hospital bed, wearing a neck brace, slowly but surely opening and closing his hands.
On Saturday night, we learned that Allin, who sustained an injury in his opening 2025 Continental Classic match against Kevin Knight, is not medically cleared and as a result has been forced to withdraw from the Continental Classic. Furthermore, it was announced on Collision that Jungle Jack Perry will take Darby’s spot in the Gold League of this year’s tournament.
After the commentary team on Collision shared that unfortunate news, we heard from Allin himself:
"The last year, I've thought I was winning this war with the Death Riders, but in reality, I was just winning the battle. They're winning the war. You know why? Because they're out here week in and week out wrestling, doing ****ing push-ups. I don't give a ****.
“I was wrestling Kevin Knight. For the first time in my career, I was scared. I felt my legs give out. I was rushed to the hospital. And I guess the AEW doctors are taking me out of this Continental Classic, and that's fine! If you want to save Darby from Darby, that's fine, I don't give a ****.
“And I hear Jack Perry's taking my spot. I've never seen eye-to-eye with Jack Perry, but if you're taking my spot, man, go on, win the whole ****ing thing! I hope you do! As for Darby, I don't know. I don't ... know."
