“The Redeemer” Miro was backstage: “My God, did you make a deal a devil to stop me because ever since Malakai’s mist, I can feel this claws. Should I let the pagans take me or should I rip off their heads and take their spines? Did you send the House of Black to destroy the Redeemer or to recruit me?”

ROH commentator Caprice Coleman joined the broadcast booth for this match.
“Normally I’d talk about how Jonathan Gresham holds the foundation together but last week he turned his back to all of that, so I don’t know how to present him to you. All I can do is say he’s the best technical wrestler in the world and you’re in for a real treat,” said Caprice.
The Code of Honor was observed before the match.

“Claudio is setting his sights on the Ring of Honor World Championship!” said Excalibur.
Christopher Daniels was backstage and had words for Jay Lethal!
CD: “You know as someone who’s wrestled Samoa Joe countless times in his career, I have to applaud you Jay Lethal. The best time to talk tough about Samoa Joe is when he’s not in the same building, not even in the same state.
“But I can also tell you as one of his best friends that when he finally gets his hands on you Jay, he’s going to teach you one more lesson: How to get choked out at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR. But if you keep putting your name in his mouth before that, maybe I’ll slap it out.”

“Bowens and Caster, not here to rap, they’re here to fight!” said Excalibur.
